So I was here for the first time a few weeks back for my Wife's Birthday..With the exception of our Server Jhonny and the food being very good, I did not give it a very positive review. After thinking about it for a while, feeling I was harsh, and being very kindly invited back by the Food and Beverage Manager Mr. Donnan Sutherland, We decided to give this beautiful restaurant a second chance for our anniversary. On September 5th, We returned...TOTALLY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE!! I'm positive now, that the first experience was a fluke, a combination of misunderstandings, and more then likely, an "off night"..not just on their part, but mine as well. We pull in and were greated by a friendly Professional Valet ( who later took a beautiful picture of my Wife and I with the Stunning view as a back drop) ( I regret forgetting his name ), We walked in and were greated by a lovely Hostess named Corin who saw us to the bar for a few pre dinner cocktails. While at the bar we were served by two very kind bartenders named Sandi and Marie (I think..Apologies if I remember incorrectly) the Manager Mr. Sutherland must have been made of our presence and made his way to the bar to meet us. Mr. Sutherland was kind enough to give us a tour of the grounds including the old chapel, the Koi pond, the wine cellar and more...including sharing the estate's history with us and exposing us to the amazing cocktail menu that was not only personally themed and curated by him, but that also was adorned with artwork that was hand done by him. We were seated for dinner and were lucky enough to be served again by Jhonny. Im gonna shorten this up and skip food details and description simply because the pics say more then I can ever express!!! 10 out of 10, Perfect and Delicious. The only bad part is we found out that this beautiful night was Donnan Sutherland's last night employeed by the Abbey in and Apropos Restaurant, as he has been stolen by another great Inn / Restaurant in Beacon New York...Sad to lose him but I completely understand why the best Restaurants in the Hudson Valley are fighting over him...and to show us the hospitality that he did in a place were he was not even going to be connected to in just mere hours..Wow! Speaks volumes about his passion, integrity, professionalism, and Character. Im so happy Mr. Sutherland invited us back and happy we accepted. This place, its food, its history, and it's people, are VERY SPECIAL. We will be back. Treat yourself and and do not miss this gem hiding on the top of a mountain right in Peekskill. Enjoy!

My wife and I came here for my birthday dinner and, at first, it felt like it was going to be a great experience. We had a 6 PM reservation, so the restaurant wasn't crowded at all. The space itself is spectacular, and the views are absolutely magnificent; definitely a beautiful way to start the evening. We were seated immediately, which was appreciated. Unfortunately, the service felt a little off throughout the night. The servers did their job, but they weren't particularly attentive or especially friendly, which took away from the overall experience. We both ordered the three-course meal from the Cherry Blossom Spring Menu. My wife had a non-alcoholic drink that she loved, while I ordered the Blueskin's Bounce, a rye cocktail with cherry liqueur. My drink was just okay. For her meal, she ordered the local burrata, the Chilean sea bass, and the black sesame cheesecake. She really enjoyed the sea bass, but the cheesecake was disappointing. I had the tuna crudo, the cherry-glazed duck breast, and the cherry blossom panna cotta. Unfortunately, the duck was extremely tough, almost impossible to cut or chew, and the panna cotta was bland and forgettable. Overall, despite the stunning atmosphere and views, the food and service did not live up to expectations, especially for a birthday dinner. Sadly, I wouldn't return.

(4.5 stars) Can't tell you how many times I've driven back and forth from Westchester to the HRV and wondered what that neat building up on the hill was. Now I know! Went here for brunch with a few friends, and thought it was excellent. I'm not a big French toast eater, but they made theirs with cornbread and I was so intrigued I had to try it. Excellent. Definitely filling! Came with fresh fruit as well. Others ordered egg varieties -- omelet, another egg dish, and our other friend joined me in the French toast. Coffee was excellent, decor was lovely and our server and everyone we encountered couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. Can't wait to go back here for dinner!

We went to Apropos Restaurant for a birthday, and it was nothing short of excellent. The service was fantastic--our server gave great recommendations, and everything tasted so fresh, from the tuna to the endives in the salad.

Took my mom here for mother's day, the grounds and the view were stunning. The food was solid we shared the duck confit and the fig and prosciutto flatbread as an appetizer. What i didn't like was the duck dish was cold. For entrees my mom had the lobster scallop pasta, she commented that this is the first time she has ever had more lobster than pasta in a dish! Safe to say she loved it. My step dad had the burger and he liked it. My husband had the shakshuka, he didn't like it. He felt it was watery and under seasoned. I had the cornbread french toast.. it just tasted like a slice of cornbread to me lol. The server was attentive and friendly. All in all it was fine but i don't see myself returning.

I came here for dinner with my husband and sister in law. She lives in the apartments next the Abbey, so we walked over. It was beautifully decorated with lights and looked stunning at night. I had wanted to order the sea bass but the waiter came back and told me they were out. So, my husband and I both ordered the salmon and my SIL ordered the duck. They brought rolls and butter out before our meals. The salmon was delicious! Perfectly cooked. My SIL ordered the panna cotta for dessert. Our bill for the 3 of us was $220. I used the lady's room and it's very nicely decorated. Very clean. Most of the restaurant was empty when we went. Outside is a gorgeous view! It's a great place to have a drink and relax. I would definitely go back again. Hopefully they'll have the sea bass available next time.

What a special Birthday dinner for my wife . This place is so beautiful sits on top of the mountain over looking the hudson , To my surprise this is a Chef Peter Kelly restaurant and he came out to us to say hello . Great farm to table menu with a beautiful setting inside and out Started with scallops on puree of cauliflower was so tender and creamy We shared a dish of fresh pappardelle with 4 cheese sauce with rapini . Pasta al dente like i like. Sauce cheesy and creamy I ordered a grilled NY sirloin with warm potato chips , meat was perfect temperature and nice and grilled charred . Chips so crunchy and tender Wife ordered pork rack chop. Huge chop super tender with creamy polenta. She lived it couldn't finish it was huge. Valet parking , beautiful grounds, warm and inviting inside. Staff top notch and very caring. It's not cheap but you get what you pay. This is a must try.

Much like the Abbey Inn, Apropos Restaurant promises luxury but under delivers. The restaurant is beautiful and the food is very good, but I wouldn't say Michelin recommended quality. We had a reservation at 6pm and service was great, but once they got busier around 7pm service became very slow. My mom's bronzino was good, but the fish was grey and did not look appetizing. My pork was juicy and delicious. We got our anchovies on the side of the salad because my mom does not like them. I was shocked when a measly two anchovies presented to us. The pannacotta was very good, but the almond cake was quite dry.

Came here for our anniversary dinner this evening. There was also a wedding going on at the location. What a lovely space. The decor is beautiful and the meals were delicious. There were two different weddings happening at this time, so I am not sure if that is the reason for the slower/less attentive service, so I would be willing to come back again. We enjoyed our meals, cocktails, and desserts!

I took a quick look at the ratings and the food photos and that was enough for us to set the GPS for the Stone House. Entering, we were greeted immediately and made to feel very welcome. The dining room was lively but we had a nice table and soon had water and bread, which came with a delicious sauce of some kind that had vegetables and cheese in it. It was so good they should sell jars of it! We ordered some shrimp cocktail to start (those were some giant shrimp, although it was only three and four would have been a nice even number) and then I had the rib eye for my main. It doesn't come with anything so I ordered fries on the side. That steak was outstanding! The flavor, the texture...everything was amazing. It came out on a sizzling skillet and it tasted as good as it looked. It was also so big that I took half of it home for lunch and if possible, it tasted even better the next day. I was very pleased. The fries were also exceptional and even though the serving was big, I ate them all. I couldn't help myself! Since I took half of my steak home, I decided there was room for dessert and the chocolate mousse didn't disappoint. The food was so good and the service was so warm and friendly, I definitely want to go back to Stone House Grill. If you're nearby, stop in for a meal. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Update: We went back almost immediately because we couldn't stop talking about the first meal, and…read moresomehow it was every bit as amazing. The lamb shank was absurdly tender, the baba ganoush was smoky and rich, and yes, the ezme, beets, and pita remain mandatory ordering. But what really sets this place apart is the heart behind it. On a hard night for our family, a simple unexpected dessert brought genuine comfort and a smile when we needed it most. They don't just feed your stomach here. They feed your soul. I would go to war for this restaurant. An absolute gem, genuinely some of the best food I've had in the area!! I don't write glowing reviews lightly, but this place absolutely earned one. From the moment the food hit the table, it was obvious this was something special. Every single thing we ordered, from the mezze sampler to the drinks to dessert, felt like the best version of itself it could possibly be. Not one weak note. Even the pita bread was memorable. Warm, soft, fresh, lightly charred, and worthy of praise in a meal FULL of standout dishes. The mezze sampler was EXTRAORDINARY. The beet and goat cheese was one of those bites that makes you stop mid-conversation. The goat cheese was fresh, creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced by roasted beets that were unbelievably sweet and luscious. Honestly, they were almost candy-like. I don't know what they did to prepare them, but they were incredible. The spicy vegetable dip, Esme, was bright, vibrant, and bursting with flavor. Fresh, zippy, and balanced with just enough heat. The eggplant dip was equally impressive, with a silky texture, subtle tartness, mellow tomato notes, and that gentle pleasant bitterness that makes eggplant so satisfying when it's done well. The hummus was ridiculously creamy and rich with tahini, giving it a deep nutty flavor that made it one of the best hummus dishes I've personally had. We also ordered the Turkish manti, and they were fantastic. Little handmade parcels topped with cool yogurt and warm spiced oil that brought everything together beautifully. We didn't even manage to take a picture because by that point we were so completely absorbed in the meal that all manners disappeared and we just devoured them immediately. No photo. No pause. Just instinct. That might be the strongest endorsement I can give. The mint lemonade was perfect for a warm day. Bright, refreshing, tart, cooling, and mint-forward without being overly sweet. It tasted clean, balanced, and incredibly refreshing. Dessert completely sealed the deal. The Turkish revani was unbelievably soft, soaked through with milk, and had that luscious almost tres leches quality that makes every bite melt away. The fresh berries and raspberry sauce gave it just enough brightness and acidity to balance the sweetness beautifully. I had a cup of black tea with it, and the combination of cake, berries, and tea was one of those simple little moments that feels kind of magical. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Tasteful decor, warm atmosphere, and thoughtful design that feels welcoming without trying too hard. The service was friendly, attentive, and genuine. More than anything, the whole place feels like a labor of love. What blows my mind most is that this restaurant has apparently been here for over two years, and we somehow only just discovered it. We were legitimately mad at ourselves thinking about how many meals we could have had here already. Now we're just trying to make up for lost time!! For roughly $80 for two before tip, the value was outstanding. At first glance, the menu might look a little upscale, but once the food arrives, it makes perfect sense. The quality more than justifies the price. I've had good Mediterranean food before. This is operating on a completely different level. Without question, this is some of the best Mediterranean food I've had anywhere in the area, and I can't wait to go back.

We didn't have any reservations, and I thought - Why would we? We started with the appetizers, babaganoush and calamari. Both were good. My wife and I had the mixed platter for two. All the meats were tasty, seasoned well and weren't dry. For dessert, I tried the affogato, espresso over ice cream and that hit the spot. Overall, we were impressed. People did start coming in after 6 so it's best to reserve a table especially if you have more than 4 in your party. The don't serve liquor so it's BYOB!! It's easy to miss Almadinah if you're not purposefully looking for it - it has somewhat of an inconspicuous exterior that blends with its surrounding businesses. The interior tells a different story - they have a small selection of Middle Eastern groceries, and a menu of hot food to take out. It wasn't crowded when I arrived, but there is a good amount of space so that even if there are a few people shopping and ordering it's not overwhelming. I was here for their hot menu, so I drew my attention towards that; the selection is similar to other Middle Eastern and Halal spots I've been to: chicken, beef, and lamb over rice or in a wrap, falafel, baba ghanoush, and a selection of apps. I decided to get the chicken and rice, the dish came with lettuce as well and I had it topped with white and hot sauce. The dish was great - fresh, warm, and full of flavor. They didn't skimp on any of the components, and all the flavors worked really well together. The dish also included some pita which was a nice touch. Service was fast and friendly, and overall I had a great experience at Almadinah. I'll be honest, I had low expectations of this place since my experiences at eateries in Northern Westchester have been mixed, but they really exceeded my expectations and provided a delicious lunch. I would have no qualms returning if I'm in the area again.

My Dad was chomping at the fucking.bit to hear some jazz tonight and as a result, we found out about this place. One of my favorite things about visiting nOLA is the jazz and I almost feel like it's the twilight zone that i can have the live Jazz experience in my home town. Not only that, but everything about our experience, start to finish, was amazing. They enticed us with the live jazz outside..As all of their tables were taken up, our initial strategy was to sit at the bar and hopefully be able to hear the music from inside. Not only did they have a whole band INSIDE the bar playing for those patrons, but we were given the choice of them literally building us a table outside. You can't really go wrong with either choice but due to the absolutely perfect weather outside and my mother's panic phobia about covid, we elected to sit outside. They straight up brought a table and four chairs outside for us to enjoy the band playing outside. The temperate fall air and lively Jazz is an ambiance that is few and far between. We had initially planned on just ordering drinks but were selling what we were buying and dropped a few food menus and had us eating out of their hand. They legit had MOZARELLA FRIED ZUCCHINI B LOSSOMS, some delicious vegetarian ravioli, arancini, and honestly whether you're into steak or farro and kale salad, they can push your.buttons, Both of my parents ordered a spring-roll-like appetizer, one with salmon and one with veggies (extra brownie points for the vegetarian option). My parents some how missed the fact that they were ordering from the appetizer menu and were disappointed in the portion size but absolutely adored the dish. . Even though I talk up and down for about 99% of the time about the fact that I'm "on a diet now" I'm actually full of shit when it comes down to the wire and I absolutely could not resist ordering their fried mozzarella zucchini blossoms which were enveloped in a delicate but delicious outer crust with creamy cheese and zucchini blososms. They were served with an orgasmic tomato sauce with a little touch of pesto. The food was the perfect complement to the musi. They have an interesting cocktail menu as well. I couldn't resist ordering their Frenesi with tequila, lemon juice, cinnamon syrup, apple bitters, hard cider. This was served in a cocktail glass with little floating (what I'm assuming is cinnamon fits that almost looked to be sparkles. It was such a beautiful drink and had such a unique flavor. GF initially ordered the All That Jazz with rye, calvados, Demerara syrup, peychaud's bitters,, ango bitters, and up in smoke however we were informed that they did not have all ingredients to make this drink. She went with her second choice, the Jam Session with bourbon, lemon, stone fruit syrup, peychaud's orange peel, Brandie's cherry. I tried this and as a strong bourbon drink, wasn't my immature palate's favorite but I appreciated the combo of bourbon and fruit flavor. Our server was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was as excellent as it could possibly be. My Mom was literally obsessed with him and couldn't stop commenting on how well he was taking care of us. Huge shout out to that man right there. I'm so excited that this place exists and GF and I have already decided to keep the local taxi on speed dial for further visits to this place. PS-sorry if this is filled with typos but I was literally too lazy to wear glasses while writing this so I am just typing and hoping for the best.
