We went with our two kids and ordered the chicken strip meals for the kids. My daughter complained that the chicken was mushy and tasted funny. I was shocked when I cut into it and found only the outside had been cooked and my daughter had taken a bite of RAW chicken. They offered to make it again....uuummmmm NO. We won't be back. read more

I've eaten at Cotton Patch in Longview, TX and it was definitely better. The service here was slow and the food was not as good as I've had at other Cotton Patch establishments. Maybe they had an off day but I'll let you know once I've made the time to go back. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! Metal wire in fries!!! Me and my family decided to eat at cotton patch tonight figuring they have something for everyone. When we got our food one meal was a salmon meal it was completely RAW and undercooked. Next meal was a chicken avacado sandwhich and the chicken was so overcooked it was inedible. Lastly and this was the most disturbing my father ordered a chicken sandwhich meal as well but his french fries came with a METAL WIRE!!! Absurd this place is and i will never be going there again! read more

My wife and I had been wanting to try this place out. It's always packed, so I had high hopes. The food was nothing special. My wife ordered a chicken salad and the chicken was so dry and hard she couldn't stick her fork in it. I pointed it out to the waitress and a manager came over and said he would give us a small discount, so that was nice. I would rather wait a few extra minutes for a freshly cooked piece of chicken. Good thing was that it was very affordable and the service was okay. I probably won't go back there, too many better options. read more

The food was just not good at all. We figured it would be good considering it always seems so busy but it was lousy. Very disappointing.

This place is not somewhere I'd ever go again. The food is not fresh at all, it's all prepackaged frozen stuff. No flavor. It was served warm, at best. Tried Several appetizers (the cheese fries, chips & queso), an entree (chicken fried chicken) and several deserts (banana pudding, chocolate cake). I can't speak for the other entree's that were ordered, I didn't try them. I honestly don't have one good thing to say about any of the food. Only getting 2 stars because the waitress was very friendly. read more

The food was good and my server Madi Cait was by far the best server i have had at a restaurant in a long time.

The chicken fried steak plate is HUGE!!!!! Has a "cafe" feel to it. Can't wait to try more of the menu! Definitely a repeat!

Food is great but you take a gamble with the service. Has had more bad service than good. But food is great.

would give more than 5 stars!!! food was amazing!! We had a party of 14, but we called ahead so our table was ready. Waiter was to us very quick. We overwhelmed him but he acted like a pro. Did not have to wait long for our food or drinks. Place was very clean. Everyone working their where doing their jobs read more

Good home style cooking when you don't have time to cook yourself. Quick easy ordering ready when they say it will be. Don't be late if they tell you it will be ready in 15 minutes it will be. read more

I got take out and didn't receive the sides I paid for. I feel like I over paid......

We ate at cotton patch in Round Rock with 6 kids and 6 adults. Our experience was outstanding, mostly because of the excellent service provided by Ginger. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals. I had chicken friend chicken and squash caserole. It was yummy. Lots of great choices on the kids menu, too. However, we would go back just to see Ginger. She was lively and fun with our group. She worked hard to make sure we had a good experience. She knew the menu and explained it well. We will certainly be back! read more

Two of us show up and order salads for dinner. One salad was nicely built and filled the Jefroe bowl, the second salad bowl was a half filled salad in the same bowl as the first. When asked what up with a half salad and another full bowl across the same table, a MGMT type visited the table and indicated that the half bowl of salad had such great items health wise that they only filled the bowl half full. Chef Gordo would never serve two salads with one being half the content as the other salad off the same area of the menu at the same price....No notice of hay this is served in half portions because it is soooo good for you we've decided you only need half the contents of all other salads on the same menu at an equal same price served in the same salad jefroe bowl as all other salads. read more

Food was delicious. Fried green tomatoes were the highlight. Hot rolls were perfect. However the service was HORRIBLE! Our server Kathrine neglected to bring us anything we asked for. She forgot pretty much everything even though she repeatedly asked us if we needed anything else. We had to ask the guy at the front to bring us the rolls because our server forgot and his excuse was that they were busy and she was one of their better servers. Not sure I will go back to the Round Rock location because of the service alone even though the food was great. Too bad. read more

I've been curious about this place but knew nothing about it so I walked in with no expectations, probably the best way to visit a place for the first time. I had chicken fried steak (the special for the day $2 off): $7, very good, coconut cream pie: $2, good, blackberry cobbler: $3, very good. The Good: Pretty much everything. Chicken fried steak was very good, it was tender, a little thicker than I'm used to getting at most places, and had real good flavor. The gravy had more flavor than most cream gravies I've come across which was a pleasant surprise. The breading was very crisp and managed to stay that way all the way to the last bite. It came with two sides, I ordered the mashed taters and broccoli. The potatoes were very good, home style with small lumps of potato and the skins included. The broccoli wasn't over cooked so it still had texture and was sprinkled with a nice seasoning, one or two pieces had a little more seasoning and they were a bit on the salty side but that's kinda nit picking. I thoroughly enjoyed the blackberry cobbler it might be a little too sweet for some (it was pushing my limits) but the flavor was exceptional. One of the best I've had in recent memory. The service was excellent, my drink never ran dry and Angela was very friendly, checking back regularly but not so often as to be annoying. The Bad: Hmm... After one visit I've got nothing. Hopefully it will stay that way after I've stopped in a couple more times. The Indifferent: The coconut cream pie certainly wasn't bad but I also didn't find it to be anything special. Unless I've got a real craving for coconut cream I probably won't order it again. read more

I have to admit fried mushrooms are my guilty pleasure. I love home cooking, and that is what you get from here. The service is good also. They do fill your plate up with food so make sure you go hungry. You can always take to leftovers home. read more

HORRIBLE does not define our experience. Got seated and ordered what we needed to. Everything was extremely slow to come out. Food was either burnt (brisket tacos), brown (guacamole), brown (queso), soggy (steak fingers), rock hard (kids hamburger), cold (everything) or late (everything). My mashed potatoes were the consistency of playdough...We had a toddler and ordered her food at the beginning and it came out quickly, within 10 minutes of ordering. Came out hot and ready for her to eat. As a mom I was glad I could feed my child. Sadly the older child order with us and received the un-edible food. We could tell all the food had been sitting under the heat lamp or out for a long time. Our waitress never told us her name, or checked on us while we were in the restaurant. The service was SHITTY! Safe to say we will never be returning back. Just glad my toddler could eat. Hope she does not get sick after eating food that was not properly cooked. The table next to us received everything in an orderly manner. Their food looked great and they ate their food with a smile. When the waitress asked how everything was I said not good and all she said was sorry. Did not hesitate to check us out. I share our experience to help others have a better or not have to deal with what we had to deal with. read more

Pretty good! Looks a little dumpy from outside, but food was very good and service was friendly.

Cotton Patch is your typically chain eatery. Food was ok, but they did have a pretty good menu to choose from. Staff were helpful and very friendly. Not a conveinient location but a positive atmosphere. read more

Food is ok. Service was pretty lame. Friendly people but they definitely make you wait for your food. Our appetizer came out about the same time as our meal. Granted we had a very young server but maybe some more training is needed. read more

The food is decent. It's hard to find traditional food anymore so you take what you can get. Mostly I support this business for allowing open carry in their establishment. This is Texas, and the people who don't like it shouldn't let the screen door hit them in the behind on their way out if they don't like it. I don't understand why so many people from failed, liberal, states come to Texas. They messed up their own states, and then come here and expect to bring their moronic ideas with them. Nope! Not welcome. Leave! Meanwhile I'll have a decent chicken fried steak here with my sidearm, and watch you cry like the sissy's you are. read more

My boyfriend and I came here one Sunday for brunch. I was a little disappointed they don't serve breakfast all day. However since most the other traditional greasy spoon restaurants were packed I decided to make the best of it and order lunch. I went with an order of bacon cheese fries. They we're average. My boyfriend had the catfish plate he also said his food was average. On the plus side, waitress was attentive and rolls were pretty good. Sweet tea was also on point. If they were to offer all day breakfast I would probably go back. Also prices were decent. read more

A few days ago I went to this place. Honestly some really good food, and the service was great too. Our server, Leah, was very kind, and gave us anything we wanted and quickly, it was great. read more

This was my second time at this restaurant, the first time the food was good but we all got sick within a couple of hours. The second time was disappointing. Our food was cold, our burgers were *way* over cooked, and the macaroni we received tasted like they went to Walmart and grabbed a few boxes of kraft mac-n-cheese. Add to it that our burgers were both made wrong and even the 1 year old wouldn't eat the french fries, it was overall unenjoyable and enough to make us vow not to go there again. I will add that the couple we went to dinner with only took 2 bites of their black eyed peas and corn, but the 5 year old enjoyed her corndog. read more

Absolutely TERRIBLE! The worst service I ever had in my life. Ashley I believe was our waitress. She never even said her name. I only knew this my looking at our receipt. She would avoid eye contact as she walked by she never refilled our drinks we had to ask. Then she would sound annoyed when we asked for more water. It's not rocket science to be a waitress and keep people's drinks filled. The restaurant was empty because we went at a off time of 3:00. So there was no reason our service should have been bad since we were her ONLY table. read more

Let me start out by saying, I'm a huge fan of the Cotton Patch and their food is great. 9/10 their service is great. Maybe they were just having a bad day. Still we ordered our food today @ 5:30 PM. Their website said our meal would be ready at 6:05. We arrived @ 6:13 and waited and waited. We called to see how online pick up worked. "Just stay on your car and we'll run out your food." Fine. But no staff was running out to the cars. We noticed a gaggle of people waiting at the door. Most people would get their orders and do an about face, most in a huff. We called 3X and they couldn't find our order once. Finally, after an hour of waiting, I went up to find ask about my order. Waited about twenty minutes. They finally brought out my order and before we left we checked our food and everything was cold to the touch. Not lukewarm, cold. We declined our order. We've requested a refund and won't do online ordering anytime soon. We'll go back, but today was just a mess. read more

This was our first visit here and we will definitely be back! The chicken fried chicken sandwich was so moist and delicious. It was so big that I could only eat 1/2 of it. My husband ordered the catfish platter and he thoroughly enjoyed all of it: the catfish, shrimp, hush puppies and mac n cheese. The rolls and cornbread were also delicious. Lanessa was an amazing waitress! read more

Love Cotton Patch! We moved here from New Mexico, and CP was a staple in our home town. We were elated to find this location in Round Rock! Wonderful salads, FANTASTIC chicken strips, and their seafood and steaks are great, as well. I have never had a bad meal at Cotton Patch! read more

Standard chain diner food. The service was good the portions were absurdly large.

By far the most ridiculously slow service I've had here to date. All the food came out mediocre and disappointing. I've eaten here many times before but this trip was particularly disappointing. I'm hoping this was just a one night issue but it makes me more hesitant to come to this location when the Georgetown one is just a few minutes further. read more

Food was good.. But the service was terrible.. We like this place and reason why we returned.. But service needs to improve.

I love the thought of this place. The pot roast is alright, I can say that mine is better, I really don't like how the they season the roast. But it was super tender and just fell apart that was awesome in my book. The bartender seemed too friendly.... The drinks were amazing tho, our waiter was so on point! Friendly, knowledgable, patient, and very attentive. My boyfriend got the chicken fried steak which was pretty good. Had better but still good. We order their version of queso, I wouldn't classify it as queso tho, it reminded me of a broccoli and cheddar soup...and green lol. I could see us going back. read more

The experience was just ok. I have eaten here twice and both times the food was mediocre. The staff was also mediocre. There was nothing special about this place. I will probably not be back if for no other reason than there are better options. read more

Sunday at 12:30pm and the community brunch crowd has packed Cotton Patch to capacity. The interior is quite lovely and modern, with fresh decor and a very clean atmosphere, however I wouldn't be remiss to say that it could use some music. I grabbed a spot at the bar and ordered a drink; the Peach Patch. It's quite good if you like preserved peaches and the syrup that drowns it. I ordered the meatloaf with sautéed mushrooms and broccoli-rice casserole. The meatloaf had too many large onion slices and other giant pieces of vegetables with a overly tart tomato sauce that takes away from the loaf. The meal itself wasn't anything to brag about. The waiter was too busy to see if I wanted a second drink to go along with my entree (as his check-in to see how everything looked was when I finished my meal). Service is excusable due to the sheer volume of the crowd. The Dr. Pepper Chocolate Cake was the saving grace of my experience. It was warm, light, incredibly moist (I suspect the Dr. Pepper has something to do with it), not too rich or too sweet, and delectable. I would recommend trying it at least once, and to be honest, I couldn't taste the Dr. Pepper. Five stars for perfectly mimicking the neighborhood-Chili's feel for a restaurant (if that's what you were looking for), three and a half stars for my overall review as a local establishment that could live up to be much more, but has a ways to go. read more

The food is great, the service and dining speed on the other hand needs major improvement. We stopped in to have dinner before taking the kids to a movie, waited 5min for a table not a big deal. We were seated and waited 15min for drinks, 20min for an appetizer and a server to actually return to take our food order. After placing our order for entrees the server actually came back to our table several times to complain of how tired she was even physically LAYING HER HEAD ON OUR TABLE right next to my husbands lap nonetheless. After another 45 min passed we finally received our food. We decided to reward the kids with dessert for eating all their food and being so patient which took another 15 minuets. We ended up being in the cotton patch close to 3 hours which by any standard is entirely too long of a dining experience especially with 2 kids needless to say we didn't get to catch our movie. read more
