This visit went better than the last. Our server, Megan i believe, was friendly and fast. We come here as it is my wife's comfort place. The food is good for the type of place and consistent. The drinks are large and fairly priced. Its usually quiet and not crowded. read more

Food was consistent. Service was kind of slow for it not being busy. The croissants were amazing as always. As always I think it's a good meal at good value. You can't really go wrong! read more

Our waitress was very nice and was prompt. There was no wait and the food didn't take long at all. Parking is great. I really love the bourban glaze sauce that comes with multiple dishes here. I like the bourbon glazed salmon entree. It is seriously delicious. Nothing to note about the ambiance. Its clean and no issues with the seating options. read more

The food is actually pretty good but the service was disappointing. The waiter was the issue here. The kitchen was running fine and doing a great job on food quality. However, the waiter was very unorganized. He said his card to put orders in the kitchen was messing up and didn't get our order in. Had to reorder which took a while. We heard other tables around us complaining about incorrect orders from the same waiter. read more

Waitress is friendliesh but when I ordered my steak without their overbearing house seasoning due to a digestive disorder that is a medical disability she refused to season it instead with salt and pepper and stated more than once that the kitchen does not have sale or pepper and that if I don't want the house seasoning (that gives me GI distress and illness that they won't season it at all and that I have salt and pepper at the table and reiterated that there is no salt or pepper in the kitchen. Ambience is ok minus the fact they are upset that I have a medical condition that would lead to hospitalization of they used the seasoning they wanted. Would not recommend if you have dietary restrictions and don't want to be hospitalized and still want basic seasoning. A chain restaurant should be aware of the ADA and Dietary restrictions. This has never happened when Charles is here. read more

Cheddars Scratch kitchen is a great go to restaurant. Everyone can find something on their menu. I love their early check in app, the hot buttered croissants and their amazing service. The atmosphere is casual, and they usually draw quite a crowd on the weekends. You'll have good luck if you arrive before 1:00pm on Sundays. Absolutely the worst food I've ever been served in a restaurant! I took one bite of the mashed potatoes and country fried chicken and I was done. Disgusting! The service wasn't great either. One of our sides was wrong. No apology or acknowledgement of the mistake. When the server asked how everything was and I told him the chicken was terrible, his response was: "What would you like me to do?" Again, no apology or acknowledgement that the customer didn't receive what was expected. Lastly, the place is filthy. The booth we sat in was in the bar area and the filth between the cushions on the seat is gross to say the least. We used to enjoy this restaurant, but it is truly awful. We will never return and I urge you, at the very least, to try a different location. This one is AWFUL. read more

A waste of 81 dollars. 71 for food and I tipped 10. The food was absolutely disgusting. I waited for the waitress about 8 min so there's your answer about service ... the food was left on the table we didn't finish the food or take it home. I will not be returning read more

This is my go-to place for comfort food in large portions at very reasonable prices. The staff is as cool and low-key as the ambience. If you have reluctance to eat alone in restaurants, come enjoy your "recharge" time here. Ask for a comfy booth in the bar area. The bartenders make you feel seen and heard but will leave you to your meal and check on you at just the right times. Pay on a screen at the table and waive good-bye. Perfect. Now on the other hand, if you have a party of five? Ten? 20? These guys are ready for that too! On the opposite side from the bar (thank god LOL!) they can make a table big enough for your birthday, graduation, or team win. The menu has a wide variety from appetizers to desserts, and prices are so reasonable! I don't remember anything more than the lower $20's, even a big steak! P.S. Never had a bad meal in 8 years. I'm surprised more people aren't talking about the complimentary honey butter croissants! So soft, so warm, so buttery, and slightly sweet. These are so amazing! The Wisconsin cheese bites are also a favorite appetizer of mine. Hot breaded cheese that you get to dip into ranch, you really can't go wrong. And all of the entrees were not only delicious, but had decently big servings! The chicken pot pie had a super flaky and buttery crust. And the filling was more liquid than I expected but I liked that more. Because it tasted more like a soup rather than just eating cream. The country fried steak was also delicious (and huge). The breading was so crispy even despite the gravy. And it wasn't too thick or heavy. The only thing I thought was kind of weird was that they put white gravy on the mashed potatoes. I feel like that usually just goes on biscuits and then you use brown gravy for mashed potatoes. But it wasn't gross or anything. read more

straight to the point, the food that I ordered was lousy, I ordered the white grilled fish. It was the most horrendous fish that I've ever eaten in my life. It was so bad I told the waitress that I did not want it. I didn't have enough time to order anything else I said don't charge me for the fish. I eat the red beans and rice and the broccoli and drink my tea.. The fish had no flavor at all. I only have one small bite of it, and I sent it back my friend who I was with, even said that the fish looked plain and nasty. , The waitress was super friendly super nice. The service was great, but the food was terrible and that's the reason for my two star rating.. just look at the picture and you will be able to tell that fish doesn't even look right read more

So getting someone to take the order or even say hi to us party of 2 over , 7 min before female walked back to the bar area and ask for the drinks order, had gotten a frozen margarita with stopped off and she forgot the topping and had to send it back and a one raspberry lemonade, we had our food order taken after the drinks she was nice . , took 15 min before she asked if wanted a order of butter bread , . The bar area was sticky to put the arms down on I didn't like that .the gravy was on top of the potatoes mashed potatoes, I ordered it gravy on the side , lady brought out the baked potato but not the side of broccoli, had to go back and fix that , took over 10 min on the phone clock to get a check out ticket and a to go cup and 2 to go boxes, go the ticket and then she didn't even say anything and left and I was paying with the phone and I was waiting for her to get back and it took another 10 min before got it back and the ticket to sing bc she said the manager had to look at my card and then she was helping other people and I had to wait 20 min before I got it all back and I couldn't leave and she had to get my card again for the second time she said bc her computer timed out she said , I don't understand why took so slow of service today and I needed my card my phone back . Just made me nervous thinking she changed 2 times . And then she walked off after that so I did the ticket and left . She didn't even say thanks for coming in or if we had good dinner or even check on the meal . Bc I had to keep fixing it bc she kept forgetting things . She had a attitude and I don't understand why bc I was nice . She kept talking about her tattoos and she should have been more paying attention to the fact she didn't get the food or drinks order right . And we the people at the bar all waited around multiple people needed help I just couldn't believe it . read more

Went to cheddars in Austin today, mopac and William cannon. Food was horrible! Fried food tasted like month old oil. Steak was cut open and looked like it was totally raw with some kind of mucas looking tendon in it. Talked to the manager, she was worthless, never even came back over to us. Two meals were never even eaten. Got a $10 credit off an $80 check which most everyone didn't eat. Last but not least, everyone got sick after we got home! Hadn't been there in a while and won't be going back! read more

Most chain restaurants are similar of course, but I really enjoyed my food at this Cheddar's. Everything was fresh and delicious. The honey butter croissants are fresh and the staff was friendly. Decorations were as to be expected with a nice quiet restaurant atmopshere. Of course Coke products are served here and there's plenty of parking. I would recommend this location. read more

This is my second time coming here, and it was amazing. The restaurant is always so clean and chill, I could just walk around in it for a couple minutes and it be enough for me to leave a tip to the crew. I ordered the lemon pepper chicken, and it was so good, however it did not do me well in the restroom . And I forgot the name of our server, but he was just the nicest and most cooperative he could be, I feel like the next time I see him I could give him a dap that would echo across the stars spreading the word of the perfect interaction. We had the sweetest waitress whenever we came here this last time. My husband and I shared the two chicken fried chicken entree. It was a huge portion. We got a side salad with one of their housemade dressings. The dressing was phenomenal. The only thing I found disappointing was the baked potato but it was just bland. My daughter absolutely loved the fresh croissants with warm butter. It's not the most amazing food in the world but for the price and service, we thought it was great. read more

Always love Cheddars! Very friendly service, classically good selections at fair prices. The decor hasn't changed but is welcoming though a little noisy. Our lunch started with tasty onion rings then mains of my favorite chicken pot pie and my wife had the cheeseburger. Both were delicious. Oh and the warm glazed croissants that came shortly after we sat down were a yummy surprise. Cheddar's is definitely a repeater for us. read more

The only thing that saved this visit was the excellent food!!! The service was absolutely the worst I've ever received at a Cheddar's restaurant. Just terrible. It took several minutes for the two host staff to figure out where to seat us and the restaurant was pretty empty for 3:00pm. Then, after seating us, our waitress was pleasant but she took our orders and basically checked on us once! ONCE! Sodas took forever to arrive and then no refills offered. We ended up paying the bill at the table kiosk because she never brought a bill, which was irritating already because there was no checking on us at all. I had to go find my own to go boxes and I had to walk to the opposite side of the restaurant to the bar to ask for refills in to go cups for our soft drinks because our waitress was NOWHERE to be found!! The food was excellent as always. Delicious and very good! But the service was so disappointing! Absolutely terrible! It's a beautiful restaurant and always a lovely place to eat. Just extremely disappointed in this visit! read more

Very disappointed. We went tonight for the first time in a long while and had a poor experience from start to finish. We were seated in a closed section and waited quite some time before receiving service. When the server finally came, they acted as though helping us was an inconvenience. We even offered to move to a different section to make things easier. Two out of the three meals were incorrect. The mashed potatoes had crunchy, hard pieces in them, and the baked potatoes were undercooked. No drink refills were offered at any point. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience. read more

My friend and I received average service, but it may have been because we were there on what appeared to be a major family night out. We were simply small fish. The fried chicken was a pressed, white piece of chicken. It was FLAT.   It didn't say it was boneless fried chicken, so this was unsettling. The fried shrimp, however, had hood seasoning. But they were also heavily battered. We won't be back. read more

Imagine this: You walk into this specific Cheddars location. You're skeptical. A chain restaurant in North Austin?? You give it a shot anyways. You hadn't joined the waitlist. But you're immediately seated at a booth. A waiter walks up. The man's name? Charles. You get the sweetest stickiest honey butter croissants on the house as an app. You try the Santa Fe dip-- it's good. You get the Wisconsin cheese bites-- they're better. To drink? It's the painkiller, obviously! Or maybe switch it up, go with a margarita. Your entree is a country fried chicken or steak with two sides. Enough to feed two if you're already feeling stuffed. Or eat one now, make a bomb leftover fried chicken or steak sandwich later. You pay, you leave with a box in hand, a little tipsy, a full stomach. Life is good. read more

This is my first time visiting and I had a great experience! There is a great bar with huge selection of drinks and at such a reasonable price. All the food was very reasonable price. I had a terrific salad and rack of ribs with side baked potato. I didn't realize how big the ribs would be I expected them to be like baby back ribs. I had to take lots home. I loved the croissants they were so sweet and tasty! I loved the menu selection and the games on the tablet. You can also pay and order on the tablet. We were seated promptly at the Fort Wayne, IN location. The hostesses (Aliyah, Michelle, and Cali) and host (Diego) worked diligently to prepare some high tops to accommodate our request to watch the Duke vs. St John's basketball game. We stopped in later in the evening, party of three. Seated right away. The booth was nice and spacious. Our server, Gabriel, came right over. Super polite and had a great personality. Out of our party two out of three had not been to a Cheddars previously. The menu has a good bit of variety without being overwhelming. I did see gluten free options and a few others that would work with dietary restraints. We ordered the Buffalo wrapper with fries. Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, and Cajun shrimp Alfredo. All had good portions, great flavor. For an appetizer we got the spinach artichoke dip with salsa and chips. Really flavorful. Overall, great experience. The one thing to note there was a large party with children in the center of the restaurant and the acoustics made it a bit shrill at times. Pretty sure that's just situational though. Also, pretty cool aquarium. ;) read more

Nice family-friendly restaurant with lots of menu options! They have delicious appetizers like spinach dip, coconut shrimps, queso, fresh salad, comfort food, burgers, steak and more! As you sit at a table and place an order, your server brings you hot croissant covered with melted butter and condensed milk and oh boy.. you can tell it's high calories, but oh yeah, so good, just melts in your mouth! We ordered Chicken tenders & Fried shrimps platter. For fried shrimps, you can choose either grilled or fried with coconut. We also got a steak, we picked fried coconut shrimps mashed potato for side dish. I liked coconut shrimps, but kinda heavy, so I think I would get grilled shrimps instead next time. My friends got steak, hamburger and they were all satisfied with what they got. I wouldn't say food here is great, but def. good enough for price and we liked their fast service and friendly server as well. read more

I've always been a big fan of cheddar's since I was a kid. It came around when I was in middle school late high school. However, the fact that they've gone downhill with their service and their quality of food speaks volumes. I get that a lot has changed in the service, industry and restaurants after Covid. However, with giving them the benefit of the doubt a lot of other restaurants have worked out fine. I will say whoever now supplies, cheddars, or owns the establishment now needs to really rethink how their restaurant is run. The quality has gone downhill in terms of service. Restaurants are busy on Friday nights yes, that's not an excuse to provide poor service. I think the biggest reason that I am annoyed with the service or lack there of is because. I got a gift card for this place and now it's useless because the food was completely inedible. We got a glass of wine and the Texas cheese, fries, and two orders of the chicken tenders with shrimp . How hard is it to mess up chicken tenders. read more
