Another great meal at Cheddar's. We were immediately seated. Meredith was attentive and helpful. She quickly brought drinks to our table. My mom ordered the Smokehouse Burger with French fries. This is her favorite. I ordered the Chicken Pot Pie. I have not had that in years. The turn around was fast. Everything was piping hot. It shows the food wasn't just sitting around waiting ti be served. The filling of the pie was creamy like I remember it. Only criticism is that Cheddar's no longer has their world famous onion rings and they also don't offer sweet potato fries. read more

Food was good! Tried the monte cristo, chicken, croissant, baked potato & broccoli casserole. Best was chicken, followed by potato I loaded with the broccoli. The sandwich was good with the jelly. The service was very good. Speed was acceptable. The nice waiter gave us our drinks to go. Cons: I saw 2 female employees go into the bathroom with their apron, which grossed me out. The sign on the back of the restaurant says HIRING STAFF That is never a good sign. * * * The servers they have are pretty good. Lo, the lady taking care of takeout orders, was fantastic. Mega-Kudos to her. * * * The cook situation is another story altogether. Cheddar's food was always on again off again even in the best of times. Adding overworked amateur cooks to the mix doesn't help. * * * I got 1/8 of the way through my Cheddar Fries before I loaded them back in the bag and threw them out. This was the first time I had visited this Cheddars location. I have not been here honestly for a long time. Now I know why. I ordered the spinach dip and a salad. I would've assumed they would've either come out together or the appetizer would've come out first but this is not what happened. The salad came out And was supposed to be a specialty salad. The pecan chicken salad to be exact. It came with a honey mustard dressing. Mine was delivered to me with almost nothing but a bowl of lettuce. The chicken looked undercooked and had no browning on it whatsoever. Not only was there no honey mustard dressing on the salad but none on the side or delivered to my table. I had to ask for dressing and it took forever to receive it. I asked about the spinach dip and he told me that the kitchen was backed up. This to took a little while even though it's basically all chips. Also ordered a glass of wine which took forever. Each time I sent the waiter back he took a long time coming back to my table and I literally sat there for five minutes not being able to eat because I did not have what I needed to eat. To make matters worse I left the restaurant stopping by the restroom first. There was a worker in there putting her makeup on and had an enormous amount of perfume that gave me an instant headache and I could not get the taste of it out of my mouth for quite a while. I do not recommend anyone going to this cheddars location. Tonight November 8, 2024 our vehicle got broken into and stole everything. It wasn't just us it was multiple vehicles. Spoke with someone from the restaurant and they said the same thing happened the night before. Called the police, they sent no one. Told us that we had to file a report online. Cheddars does not have any cameras facing the parking lot, is what we were told!!! I can't believe not even the police can go help us! We feel alone and my family is scared and worried. Went in with my elderly parents Tonight. Dad has dementia and hard of hearing and my daughter for her 18th Birthday. Everyone was great minus the "hostess-host" kinda long mullet type hair and glasses with a horrible attitude. Never got a name. My mom is fragile and became uncomfortable with the seat at the table. We let them know at the table and switched to a booth. Which another server said Okay. Hostess then came back and felt like they scolded us on switching as "hostess-Host" said to let them know next time grabbed the stuff and brought to new section. We did.. Dad then didn't hear or understand with what was happening. We didn't even get asked in the beginning. What we preferred. There is a way to treat people and this is definitely not how a person should act also overheard them with a waiter and again wasn't nice. Surprised they still have a job.... Thought we would try out this place in our neighborhood it was cozy place tables were private and I liked the seating and decor menu and a lot for everyone to pic from the server started off by bringing us croissants with sweet butter I think on it ONG. First time here! This place was absolutely amazing. Date night with hubby and we enjoyed ourselves so much I didn't get many photos. The wait staff was incredibly friendly and uplifting! We hs the croissants and the trio for appetizers and both were great! Those croissants were so flaky they melted in your mouth. The trio had chicken strips, salsa and queso all of which were very flavorful. The main entree is what kept from a 5 star just because it was slightly bland. Chicken fried steak mash potatoes and green beans. The green beans were amazing but the others needed some seasoning. Hubby got the monte cristo sandwich and said it was ok but felt it was lacking some flavor as well. Service was quick and correct with no issues. BLOOD in salad? Went here for lunch today. Waited close to 10 min at the table before a server took our order. Crossoints were stale (only took one bite). Salad had what looked like blood in it. After getting that, we tried to flag down a server, but no one would make eye contact. Waited five minutes. I finally had to get the host to ask for a manager. We arrive early for lunch to beat the crowd, then waited ten minutes before a waitperson even walked by our table, and even longer before one stopped to check on us. The Chicken Pot Pie was hot and quite tasty like it came right out of the oven. But absolutely do NOT get the Chicken Alfredo. It was barely warm. The chicken was undercooked with a strange texture like it had been briefly warmed up in a microwave. The alfredo sauce was thin, watery -- it was just plain cold and tasteless. In hindsight we should have sent it back except for (a) the waitstaff had disappeared again and (b) we were running out of time to get back to work. So we paid up and left with one of our meals sitting almost untouched on the table :( :( :( BTW the feared crowd never showed up, so maybe the word is already getting out that Cheddars ain't what it used to be any longer :( read more

It was a while back and I was craving a gourmet grilled cheese for lunch. The only grilled cheese around by me were on Kid's menus. Then I spotted Cheddars had a Monte Christo. To me it was a grilled cheese with ham, why not give it a shot. I was seated in a booth near the bar. Quiet and dim lighting, it was a nice area. Next booth over in the corner was seated a family of six. Otherwise, it was deserted. The waitress came for my order. She was personable, friendly, and quick. Ordered the flavored lemonade and the Monte Christo subbing slaw instead of fries. A couple of minutes later the food arrived for the family of six. Notice two of them got the monte Christo and it looked deliciously. A short time later my lemonade comes. It tasted great, not too sweet nor tart. Ten minutes go by and my lunch appears. It smelled as good as it looked. Taking hold of a quarter piece, I top it with the raspberry jam they came with it. Still hot I took my first bite. Heaven! Not too greasy, a perfect combination of Ham, cheese, batter, and jam. Very rich and decadent. The slaw was light and enjoyable. Twenty minutes later and I knew I wasn't going to finish more than half of lunch. Did I mention it was rich? Waitress came back and packed my leftovers. Being relatively new to Austin and basically home bound due to physical limitations, I don't get out often. I have a couple of friends who have it in their hearts to give me some of their time and transportation, This occurred last Sunday 3/17. OK, so she loads me, my walker, oxygen and other accouterments into her car and we head to Cheddars where the greeting staff were very helpful with helping me to a requested table off in a private corner where we would not be in the way, From then on everything was better than I'd hoped. I have to keep portions small, so ordered the appetizer sampler. PERFECT! Tons of chips arrived with the spinach dip, queso. salsa and the most amazing chicken strips in the universe! I had given up on ordering chicken strips, always dry, tasteless with little or bland breading. I became a "give me a thigh!!!! on a bone person, leave on the skin, thoroughly fry it with a beautiful, crunchy coating. OK, forgive me, but it overwhelmed me that I found all the elements of perfection that I expected from classic fried chicken alive and well in your chicken strips. The margarita was great, too as well as the spinach dip, queso, & salsa. Bottom line, for someone who isn't "out & about" every day eating at numerous restaurants, this was such a special event for me. My review is for the horrible customer service. I order to go plenty of times a month so I know last order is 9:30pm. Well my spouse calls to make the order and the manager Is so rude saying that our food would be left outside after we have already paid. Of course this this prompts my spouse to respond back rudely and they both share words. I speak with operations manager he told me he would take care of it and address this with staff. 3 months down the line my spouse calls to place an order. The manager takes it and asks his name. Once he gives his name she says you're not allowed to order here and hangs up. So being she hung up he calls back she then threatened to call the police for harrassment charges for trying to place an order. So come Today I call the general manager Eddie and he says my spouse is not allowed back for using profanity and insulting the employee. So it is ok for the employees to start the altercation and talk to the paying customer any kind of way even threatening to leave the food outside bc their lazy ass didnt want to take it to begin with. The operators manager never told me that after the first incident and I've ordered since then so why now. Beware of this unethical establishment. read more

The taste of the food was great but unfortunately both my boyfriend and I got very sick from it. the most disappointing thing is that I wrote to customer service, using emails, Facebook and Instagram. I got one message back saying "we're so sorry can we have your contact information to have someone contact you from the restaurant?" no one contacted me. I got another email apologizing for the experience and asking how we felt, but nothing else after I replied. We were so excited to try cheddars and bought about $60 worth of food because we wanted to try multiple different things. At least offering to give us a credit of what the food was worth so we could try it again would have been a little worth it. We put in the order at 8:30, they were closing at 10, so I assume that something in our order had been left out too long throughout the day or maybe not cooked the correct temperature? But sooooo disappointed in how they're handling it and just ignoring. Edit: After this review I finally received an email again apologizing but only giving me $30 back. It's definitely better than nothing but when we had to throw our entire dinner away that was about $60, $30 doesn't seem like much. read more

It's always a treat when my family and I have can get together and have lunch with our grandmother. Seeing as how we all live in different cities, coming together and taking her to her favorite place - Cheddar's is always a delight! This afternoon she insisted on taking us to Cheddar's for a change! This time might have been amongst the best. Not only was the food delicious, but the service provided by Jennifer, was absolutely incredible! Much of the experience was 4 star. Food and atmosphere was good. I had the fresh homemade chicken pot pie, which tasted as such. My wifes salmon was very good. My salad was decent. The main detail that was a little bothersome was the wait staff. I knew what items I wanted and ordered them, and with each item, the wait staff person tried to upsell each item. After our meal, I asked the waiter for the check and he instructed me to use the touch device on the table, which is fine, but it was malfunctioning. We usually go on a weeknight and it is rarely crowded and food is served hot and tasty. Good prices and we are served by one of the most charismatic waiters I've ever met, Charles. He is always incredibly personal, has a good memory of what our preferences are even though we have only been there a few times, and we always leave with a smile on our face. I wish there were more vegetarian choices on the menu, but that's neither here nor there. Please give Charles a raise! In this economy of the great resignation, he could work literally everywhere and you guys are so lucky to have him and I hope you realize that. read more
