Horrible experience. Ordered online it said my order would be ready in 25 minutes. Waited an hour at the restaurant for my food. When I was given my food I checked it and several things were missing from the order.. had to wait even longer. My cobbler was ice cold/semi-frozen. I will never be back. read more

I ordered macaroni and cheese with buffalo chicken. 2 people ordered NY strip 1 ordered tilapia and shrimp combo. Our food came out 40 minutes later I was told no macaroni available but now the chicken pot pie was available. I chose not to order anything. The steaks were fine, the tortillas on the fish tacos were hard, the rice with the tilapia and shrimp was cold. Our server was accommodating to the best of her ability she did bring our warm sauce for the shrimp and fish she advised us would speak with manager he came over to our table proceeded to apologize to me 2 men in our party who had ordered steak jokingly told him our steaks are good. Managers words "that's why I like talking to men". At end of meal Server asked if we wanted dessert someone said if it's on the house she came back and manager said 1 would be comped. This is one of the best places to eat in town midland. Cotton patch there dressing is good there vegetables are very good chicken and dumplings too. Good eating and nice to people I recommend it. I wasn't paid to Wright this. I am on AS and 67 years young. read more

Sorely disappointed with the portions and quality of the food. We used to come here all the time but not anymore. Me and my friends decided to give it another chance. We waited for an hour for cold food with tiny portions. The broccoli didn't even looked cooked and I took 2 bites of my chicken fried steak before I couldn't eat anymore. I've tried several entrees on several visits and they'll all been too salty for my taste. The best of the too-salty entrees I've tried was the roast beef. This would have become a Sunday tradition if they would lay off the salt a bit. Too bad. read more

Love the homestyle food they offer! Dinner rolls are to die for. Love the soup and salad combo.

Let me say first, the fare at Cotton Patch is not my usual thing. We've been once, YEARS ago, and had mediocre salads. Well, duh, don't get a salad when the specialty is comfort food! My kids earned free meal passes from the library and we figured, hey, free kids meal! We were seated immediately, which, if you live in Midland, you understand that RARELY happens! Our server, Stephanie, was very attentive and friendly. She was apologetic when the food seemed to be taking a while. We'd barely noticed because we had yummy fried pickles and fresh rolls to munch while the kiddos colored. My husband took advantage of the Monday chicken fried steak special and I ordered the chicken fingers. Wow! His meal was flavorful and just the right crunch. My chicken wasn't heavily breaded or greasy, but super tender. We both ordered fantastic black eyed peas. The kids seemed to really like their choices as well (I liked how many kids options there were!) Overall, we were super pleased with the food and service when we really weren't expecting much! My husband and I went in early, around 4:45 pm because Midland's restaurants are typically filling up fast by 5:00. Upon our entry to the Cotton Patch Café we saw there was no one at the host station. Two girls were sitting with drinks at a table near the bar, so we asked if the café was indeed open. They said yes and in a minute or so a woman came flying out of the kitchen apologizing and took us to a booth. The partition between the booths was smeared with God knows what perhaps mashed potato, or something worse..we waited over half and hour for our disgusting food to arrive. The bread service came at the same time as the food did, the "butter" had to have been yellow shortning! Mean while two tables near us had not been bussed and finally two girls came out and one started to clear the tables and the other told her lets wait and do this later..but the one clearing said if we don't do it now it won't get done..so the other starts to help her and drops a pile of plates making our desired exit impossible. I emailed to company when I got home and told them, we'd had an awful experience, and I received an email from the manager stating that he would send me a coupon for two free dinners and to ask for him by name because he wanted to wait on us himself. Of course I had to give my name and address to send the email complaint and while I don't know whether or not the incident is related my husband's truck got egged the following weekend. And I never got the coupon not that I'd want to set foot back in that nasty place ever again. And obviously they are NOT open to criticism! read more

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. Was seated quickly and the server waited on us promptly. My wife and I both ordered the chicken fried chicken. The food was hot and fresh and arrived at our table quickly. Our server was attentive to refilling our drinks. Overall we had a great experience. read more

Visited on a Wednesday night, 12/14/16, at 6:00pm. Restaurant was not clean, had a bad smell, floors dirty, sticky furniture. We both ordered the chicken & dumplings (picture shows long strips of dumplings, and large portions of chicken). When we finally received our food, the bowl was full of 4 small bits of chicken (like what you get in a can of chicken noodle soup at home), and there were no dumplings at all. It was just a bowl of thick goo. When asked if everything was okay, I said it would be if we would have actually had some chicken and dumplings in our bowl. She said "sorry" and walked away. On Nov 11, 2013 (Veterans Day) myself (vet) and my wife was celebrating and we get seated 10 min later no waiter, I went to the hostess and ask for manager then we get a waiter. Manager offer appetizer on house; waiter brought it out and slammed it on the table. Ordered food, got food, started eating and wife noticed hostesses (2) had their cell phones out pointing at us videotaping. Wife noticed it and when they saw her see them they quickly stopped and both of them turned around. It bothered my wife where she got up and went and asked why they were recording us. First they said they was not recording us they were recording the people behind us (there was not anybody there), then they changed and said it was not what you think my wife then said that y'all knew my husband complained because he ask y'all to get the manager then y'all were up here giggling with our waiter then we get our food and now y'all are recording us eating. What did y'all do to our food? They kept saying that it was not what we think but that all they kept saying. We immediately asked for the check (paid for our dinner) then left after only taking one to two bites out of the meal. Out in the parking lot called manager (different one than earlier) told him and I took it he was going to "sweep it under the rug" by his attitude. So I call the next day and ask for the GM (was not there)I did talk to the manager I had previous complained to about no waiter and he remembered us but he had left. I asked him if he had heard of any other issues last night and he said nothing was mentioned. So I informed him and he seemed pretty upset and said that he would find out what was going on and get back with me. A week later nothing from anyone. 10 days later I receive a gift certificate for dinner for two limiting $11 per meal. Sad part is we can't even order what we had ordered that night. So I paid for a meal that we did not eat and because they did something to our food, then they insult us with the gift cert. not even worth what we paid. All we want was to have a nice dinner for Veterans day and it turned out nightmare. Luckily, we busted them before we ate their sabotage to our food and they did not get to record our disgust for their video enjoyment. There are many things we could have done better and differently. As a result of the information provided to us by Mr. Yaws we have since had a meeting with all of our managers in Midland to discuss the events of that day and how we could have handled this differently. We also changed our cell phone policy, as a company, so that no cell phones are in the employees possession while at work. So when they say they set new policy and made changes; bull crap. I was waiting to see their response to this BBB complaint; the way it went determined which way I was going to proceed. I WILL push this incident well out past Midland Texas. Being in the military, I have a lot of friends in the Dallas Ft Worth area. This company does not care about its customers or the military; they have no leadership. This could of been fixed but they just want to sweep it under the rug and not take ANY responsibility for the actions of their employees. Yes, they only crapped on two people but these two people know extremely well how to use social media and have a large contact base. This company could be seen as anti-military. read more

Worst service I've received in midland. Waited about 20 minutes to get a table which is pretty normal here. A manager seated us and then waited about 15 more minutes and no one ever came to take our drink order or even asked if we had been helped. So we got up and left, told the hostess on our way out about the horrible service she didn't even try and correct the problem just asked where we were sitting so she could show it available. read more

Food was outstanding, but I had a problem with the service. We had to ask for silverware after our appetizer arrived, still took awhile to come. My husband order the fish and chip basket and got the fish taco platter. We questioned it but the waiter insisted that he had the fish and chips. When the got the receipt it had fish taco printed on it. My husband ate them since he loves fish tacos, and they were good, but that wasn't the point. Febuary of 2010 my wife and I ate at the Midland Cotton patch. We have been here Once before! She ordered a 9oz. steak with a baked potato, The steak was brought out with some kind of onions and over cooked. No potato. We asked where the potato was they said "Oh were out" On the previous visit exact same thing, brought food with no potato, "were out." I guess its easier to heat a small number of potatos for the day and when you serve that number just tell customers 'Were out" I ordered the chicken fried steak which was big, and cold!
