This place is ok. I searched google for restaurants with vegetarian options. While this place does offer a vegetable plate, the options are mostly starches (corn, mashed potatoes, rice) and vegetables with so many additives that the veggies can't be considered healthy. I guess it's supposed to be like southern comfort food. Eh, it wasn't all that comforting. I ended up ordering the cowboy chicken or something. I don't have my receipt in front of me at the moment. Ranch hand chicken? Second item in that section on the menu. It came with rice and another item, mashed potatoes or something. I asked for broccoli and a side salad. They gave me the rice anyway. I didn't eat it nor the bread that they brought. Service was fine. No issues, but the girl did tell me to have a blessed day (it was dusk). Please keep your religion to yourself. Very overpriced food for the serving size. The "SHROOMS" were rolling around in the box like infant children in a playpin. Looking for their brothers! Money is so hard to come by. Choose where you spend your sweat equity! Plus, the soup was sour without one piece of bacon. So I didn't get to enjoy that sweat equity either. This was a negative experience for me....we tipped the driver $7.00 to drive 2 miles and not to desecrate our meal. She did a good job. I think 10.% is still a decent tip nowadays. The service started off slow . The server acted like we were a burden and really didn't want to serve us . She stated someone else was gonna be taking our order and in the meantime did get me a glass of water . We sat for about 10 mins before we were brought 2 dinner rolls while other tables received atleast 4. after another 10 mins of waiting she returned and finally took our order . No biggie we weren't in a hurry.. The food arrived and looked great. I ordered the single porkchop and paid extra for mashed potatoes that did not come out like I ordered . The porkchop had a very slight pink center but seemed done. I cut a few pieces and ate them. I was ready to get to the meat so I wanted to just have meat and not the bone attached . Well this is where the problem was . as I cut the meat away from the bone is was very very raw . Raw to the point it looked like it came straight out the packed and served to me. The original waitress never came back so I had to get the attention of another and pointed the raw pork. She looked as asked if I wanted them to put it back the fire .. Huh? Are you serious . I called at 9:25pm to place a Togo order. I already ate dinner, and all I wanted was some peach cobbler. This girl who sounded confused when she answered the phone told me they were closed even though Google says they close at 10pm. Then she put me on hold to get her manager. By this time it was 9:30pm. A second lady who claimed to be the manager told me they were closed already and that the cooks had thrown away all the food for the day. Regardless if they closed at 10pm or 9:45pm, they were still open when I called, so they should have taken my order. I had a good meal with my wife in the newly remodeled restaurant. We both had the light portions of fish and meatloaf. Green beans and sweet potato fries rounded out our meals. Our waitress was training a new fellow, and she did well. We had the hot, fresh dinner rolls too. No dessert though I did want a piece of the butter cake! Our meal was hot and tasty. After eating here today, I understand why only 2 stars. The service was great, but the food quality has gone downhill, now for our second visit in 6 months. Last time here, my fish wasn't cooked through and there was way too much of it. This time the strawberry pecan salad is all dandelion looking weeds and no lettuce. No iceberg, no romaine and even no spinach. The pecans weren't glazed and there wasn't much chicken on it. If you're charging $14 for a salad, then put some dang chicken and lettuce in the bowl. I ordered a to go order, and the clerk told me it would be 20-25 minutes. I get there at the 25 minute mark. She states it'll be another 8 minutes. 20 minutes later two customers have walked in, and walked away with their order. I finally question the clerk about when my order will be ready. She says, "let me go check on that for you." I wait an additional 15 minutes, and the clerk never walks back out. The lack of communication was OUTRAGEOUS. To add on to that, the two people who actually walked away with food walked back in because food they ordered was left out! They waited an additional 10 minutes inside simply because the staff wouldn't even acknowledge them. They already got paid right? So why care? Also two people who ordered on door dash canceled their order because they waited so long. One of the workers actually had the nerve to say, "damn impatient people!" Excuse me? People eat out because they expect good service. They expect YOU to do what you say you're going to do. Don't lie to us and tell us a certain wait time, and then have the audacity to say it's OUR problem we're upset because we're now waiting inside a restaurant for food that's way overdo. People order Togo and from door dash, Uber eats, etc- because they DONT feel like going out. Yet I just waited 50 minutes inside without so much as an apology for my food not being ready. This place was recommended to me by the Fairfield hotel across the street. This and outback were so close, but it didn't seem right to go to outback when in Texas. I really liked the meal and the service here. It was good and the food was delicious! I was also blown away by how inexpensive it was! I had the Cajun duo and the crab sauce on it was fabulous. We are short staffed is a great excuse if you really are!!!! I have waited over 25 minutes for a pre ordered order and still isn't finished. During my time I have watched kitchen staff watch football, and talk about how good the blizzards are in the back. I have had 5 people ask me about my order and gotten different answers each time.
