My goodness Midland restaurants! I never knew there was such a good food scene. In town on a business trip and one of the ladies I'm working with took me here for lunch. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant and a side of chips. The croissant was fresh and appeared to be homemade. The salad was full of chunks of chicken and I enjoyed the grapes in it too. It was a huge sandwich, so I was only able to eat half of it. Would like to go back and try other menu items. Oh! Really wanted to love Mulberry Cafe, especially being right next to mōtiv fitness studio, but this visit was a full-on "what else could go wrong?" situation. Menus were confusing, drinks required a scavenger hunt, and my lettuce-wrapped veggie burger was a no-go... plus the patty was giving frozen and flavorless. Found a hair in my food, got upcharged for soggy fruit, and the lentil soup came with bacon (hard pass). The chai was basically syrup in a cup, so I tapped out and switched to iced tea. Too loud, disappearing waitress, hardly any cheese in the 3 cheese panini. My wife's chicken on her Asian salad was dry as toast & the sesame dressing had a weird flavor. They were out of the beverage we drink & it was just a bad experience all the way around. Another restaurant to avoid until they can try to get their act together. BTW, they were packed. We got there at 11:15 & only a few tables were there. By the time we left it was standing room only. I don't get it. Their food is not that good. read more

My wife ordered a pink drink, she was handed a water, when asked if this was the pink drink that she ordered the person working behind the counter snapped we will bring it out. I asked to speak to a manager, and the lady that was extremely rude was the manager. I will not be back to this resteraunt. Clearly leadership by example means nothing at this resteraunt. read more

The food was okay, but I asked for over medium eggs and they came out over hard and crusty. Couldn't even eat them. The staff was friendly enough, but it's mostly self service. The atmosphere is superb. Very cozy. My husband and I stopped for breakfast. The food was great, biscuits fresh, and eggs perfectly cooked. Service was not great. We stood waiting at the register for about 12 min. The lady behind the counter was on her cellphone for quite a bit before she even noticed us. Didn't greet us at all. Rushed to take our order. Coffee was cold and she was clearly frustrated when we asked for fresh coffee. It's like she needs glasses or can't see clearly. My husband went to get more coffee and she was very rude. She grabbed the cup and tossed it in the sink and gave him a paper cup. The lady that brought out the food was also on her phone and just placed plates down and walked off. It's like they care more about their phones than the customer. We won't be coming back anytime soon. It felt like they didn't want us there. Had breakfast after my grandmas funeral service and 1st time there. There's an amazing young lady working there quirky, bubbly, welcoming, and all smiles. Beautiful smile and just happy. Made our heartache much better. Ros something was her name. Excellent service kept an eye on our coffees. Cleared our table brought ice water and just made our visit special. She recommended Gerardo's and even recommended other lunch menu options for our next visit. The breakfast potatoes and homemade salsa are a huge plus. Ambience is top notch. They have pergolas and you can sit and read a book or work. Will definitely return and try all of it! read more

I got myself a chicken salad croissant, it was ok. The chicken salad lacked flavor.... Croissant was maybe to thick. But the chips I enjoyed, plain with some seasoning...delish. Passing through town, we stopped by for a bite. We missed breakfast by an hour (ended at 10:30), so we ended up getting lunch. Inside was totally crazy busy with all the regulars! That was nice to see. You order at the front and they bring the food to your quirky table of choice. I had the Chicken chipotle wrap with tomato basil soup. The wrap was pretty standard, though there was a flavor in there I could quite pin down, but I liked it. It comes on a spinach wrap. And, the tomato soup was good! Not very heavy on the basil, but I really appreciated that there were large chunks of actual tomatoes in there. I also tried the London Fog (with Oat Milk . . . which apparently I love now. I thought it was weird it came with cinnamon on top (fits better with chai), but it was still very good. I even ordered a second one for the road. read more

My experience on a Saturday morning. Our breakfast was good, my latte was delicious. We didn't have to wait long after we ordered and paid. Service was very good. We didn't have to ask for refills. The servants were attentive. Restaurant is bigger that what it looks from outside. I think it is dog friendly for outside sitting. That's a big plus for me. This is the first time I have ever ordered the club from here and let me tell you it is wonderful!!! The club comes with a spread of your choice on it sooo you don't have to make it yourself!!!‍ The ingredients are fresh!!! The bacon they use is not the microwaveable bacon either!!! It's the thick bacon as well!!! The chips are gourmet chips and are sooo yummy!!! The staff is wonderful!!! The owner is very personable!!! The location is decent, and the environment is perfect for a relaxing lunch with workmates or friends. My favorite dishes here are the Mulberry chopped salad, the cranberry salad, and the enchilada soup. The salad have a great variety of ingredients, textures, and flavors which make them some of my favorite salads in town. The enchilada soup is cheesy and a good kick of spice but not too much. I also love to indulge and order their lemon bars. They are SO good. The lemons bars are the perfect combination of tangy and sweet, with a good consistently and texture. They are one of my favorite desserts in town, and I find them hard to resist when I visit. I highly recommend this place to my friends if they're looks for a casual, fresh lunch.
