The reason it missed the 5-star mark with me was our waitress was slow to do everything. Even with taking our drink order. Then our food order. The worst was waiting for my final bill. And then she forgot our takeout box for my youngest. I don't know why she didn't have a greater sense of responsiveness with our party of 3, but it was like this the entire duration of our meal on July 25, 2026. It was super frustrating! The other reason I knocked off a star off was because the towel dispenser was depleted in the lone restroom. I had to flag down an employee with drenched hands. THE PROS I called about 20 minutes ahead of time to reserve a table because I knew this brassiere was on the small side. The lady on the phone was courteous and professional. If you have a hot date, I highly recommend reservations particularly in the evening. This seems like that sort of place. When we arrived, I found free street parking a short walk away. We were promptly greeted and seated. To enter the restaurant, you must go inside the Frost Bank tower's lobby, but to exit there is a door just beyond the bar. This place has beautiful, eclectic decor. The bar area was somewhat rounded and has an easygoing, but classy feel to it. THE FOOD The ambiance is what made this a great mother/daughters brunch date. The food sets it apart from the majority of restaurants in this oil industry town. The have East Coast-sourced oysters on the menu! These are far superior to their West Coast counterparts. I would have opted for these for our app if it weren't for my minions, I mean children. Pigs in a Blanket ($15.00) - yet another appetizer my daughters pigged out on that I didn't get to try. And they said they weren't that hungry! Lies all lies. They looked divine with nicely cooked juicy sausage and everything seasoning on the pastries. Avo Toast ($11.50) - my newly-turned teen daughter and I both had our own. I opted for eggs over easy which were cooked nicely. She oddly chose scrambled eggs for her, but she ate pretty much all of it. Smashed Burger ($17) - my youngest had this and said it was excellent. Nice touch with an American flag planted into the top bun. For the umpteenth time she did not share a fry with me. It is what it is. Mocha latte ($5.00) - my youngest's birthday which I will be missing since she'll be visiting her father is coming up so this was a treat for her. I tried it. Quite good after being thoroughly stirred. 1988 Martini ($18) - pricey but oh so good. The olives stuffed with bleu cheese were not bad. I had to try it even though the thought of bleu cheese kind of turned me off. Lol. Will I return? Of course because I have faith it will be 5 stars next time. Look at the other raving reviews! It was pretty much everything you'd hope for in a small-town restaurant in the heart of downtown. Locally owned, just the right amount of greasy-spoon charm, and so authentically West Texas that for a minute we wondered if they were about to serve us fried roadrunner with a side of coyote sauce. The place was filled with locals discussing Friday night's high school football game, which somehow made the whole experience even better. Overall, I'd give the food an 8/10, but we also didn't walk in expecting a fine-dining experience. This was clearly a roll-up-your-sleeves-and-eat kind of place. The brisket sandwich with jalapeño spread was very good. The brisket was chopped and covered in a tasty homemade sauce, while the jalapeño spread added the perfect amount of heat and a nice smoky flavor. It came with a side of hand-cut fries that were delicious. Our server suggested getting the fries covered in Hatch chile queso, and honestly, that may have been the star of the show. I'm not sure queso-covered fries are part of any recognized food group, but they should be. We also ordered the fried catfish basket, and it was very good as well. The fish tasted fresh, and the cornmeal batter was exactly what you'd expect from good Southern-style catfish. Even the house-made coleslaw was a pleasant surprise, which is saying something because coleslaw is usually the side dish everybody politely ignores. Service was exceptionally friendly, and overall, the stop was a success. I probably wouldn't plan an entire road trip around B's, but if you're passing through Fort Stockton, you're hungry, and you want some good, locally owned mom-and-pop food, this downtown staple is definitely worth a stop.

My husband ordered the bbq plate and it looked like something they served in heaven. It came with an apple cobbler. The cinnamon and nutmeg were so fragrant. And it melted in your mouth. What I liked about it was it was not too sweet. Perfect. His bbq plate looked delicious. The chicken thigh had a nice color, and great texture from the black pepper. It came with sausage and brisket, beans, and a jalapeño! Insanely good. I am so glad we stopped to eat here. I ordered a club with fries. They really underpromised and over delivered. I was expected a slice of deli meat but no, I was wrong. It was chopped chicken??? Bacon, lettuce, tomato, and perfectly buttered bread. And a lot of meat! You HAVE TO stop and eat here.
