Great atmosphere, food and service. Have been here a few times when time allows in Midland. Has never disappointed.

Midland/Odessa does not have many nicer restaurant options but Cork and Pig is one of them and a great one at that! My coworkers, a customer, and I had a reservation and we were promptly seated. Once seated, we had the best server ever. His name escapes my mind currently but he was absolutely amazing. I would go back just for him. We started off with some deviled eggs which were tasty and what you would expect. The halibut was excellently cooked with a crispy outer layer and juicy and tender in the middle. The side salad was also perfectly proportioned with all ingredients. I would definitely recommend going to Cork and Pig for a casual outing and/or a business meal. read more

I was in West Texas, eagerly anticipating a visit to Cork & Pig. However, I was unaware that they had expanded their presence by opening a new location in Midland. I went online, opened the menu, and noticed that they had the short ribs. Honestly, I didn't read the description. The short ribs at the Odessa location are, without a doubt, the best thing on the menu. We arrived again and didn't bother reading the menu description. We noticed they had a short. I opted for the short rib, while my coworker chose the Chicken Parm. When the food arrived, I noticed that it didn't look, taste, or even resemble the short rib from their sister location. I brought this issue to my servers, but they didn't seem to understand. He did explain that this is the standard short rib. However, when I opened the website, I noticed that the description and both locations are different. This short rib is, without a doubt, the worst I've ever had. If you're looking for a good menu item, head to the Odessa location instead. This isn't a cheap dish, and it's not worth the price. My service was good. Wait time was great. Food is a zero out of zoom ask for my coworkers offering. He said it was very enjoyable. I hope this reaches out to someone and does not make the same mistake that I do. I love the new extension to the Cork and pig in Midland Texas. It's more calm and I was able to hear conversations. For some reason we kept getting different people waiting on us, but they were all nice. It was just confusing. The waitress suggested the drink in the photo and it was outstanding! I ordered the smoked chicken dish and potatoes. It was delicious and I would definitely order it again! However, my portion was very small compared to other visits to the same restaurant. The ambience in the extension part of this restaurant made up for anything else. We enjoyed our dinner thoroughly and are looking forward to our next visit already. read more

Took a Client and his girlfriend out for a nice dinner. I took a bite out of my Caesar salad and noticed something weird as I was chewing. Decided I needed to spit it out only to find 2 staples! The manager was apologetic. But, when I got the bill, only $14 was removed. $7 per staple. Thats the going rate. If I only had 1 staple in my food, it wouldn't have even covered the Dos Equis! Awesome spot! I had the steak salad and my friends had a veggie pizza and a the pig pizza. It was delicious. The steak salad had a bit of sweetness to it, which I would have been ok without, but that's just personal preference. The pizzas were tasty as well. I had a slice, I'd give a 7 out of 10. Went with group from work. The first thing is to acknowledge the service. She handled our table of 9 like a champ. Friendly, cheerful, and helpful. A few people had pizza. One coworker said taste was great but he would have preferred it be cooked a tad longer. So if you like it crispy. Might let them know. Another dish I saw include the beef tips. Reportedly good. We ordered the off-menu cornbread. It was AMAZING! The spinach dip was good as well. Personally, I had their blackened ribeye special with their peanut coleslaw. It was all great, the steak was a little closer to rare than medium rare. But it was tasty. Always like the coleslaw (and I don't care for coleslaw typically). read more

Visited for date night. I was craving the tuna salad. After about 20 minutes after ordering, someone from the kitchen came and informed me the tuna didn't look good enough to serve. Before I even had a chance to order something else, my husbands food arrived. At that point, what is the point of ordering a new meal? They also charged me for a double drink when all I ordered was an old fashion. Cork and Pig used to be our main choice but not any more. We definitely needed a reservation and thank god we did. Our reservation was 7 and we got here at 630 and was sat immediately. The front staff were super friendly. Once we sat down we only waited a few minutes until our server came to introduce himself. We was very friendly and to be honest he's the reason I'm even leaving a star and review. For our appetizer I got the calamari and corn bread. I didn't care for the corn bread because it has jalapeños in it but it was sweet. Just tasted really weird. The calamari was okay, it definitely could have used a little bit more in the fryer so that it could be crispy instead of soggy. Whatever the white sauce it came with was delicious but the red sauce I highly recommend not trying it. Everyone in my party, which was 10 of us, thought it was absolutely disgusting. For my main course I ordered the 8oz filet with a said salad. I asked for no tomatoes and no goat cheese and it still had it on there, so they replaced the salad and put blue cheese which I wanted ranch. So again I got a new salad again and it was finally made correctly. I will note their ranch is chunky here. Then my filet came out but it came out cold as hell. At that point I was over this place and sent it back. I will never eat here again just because of the lack of the food quality. Definitely not worth the money. I have at a lesser steak places that was one, the steak was cooked and warm and two less than what they were charging. I don't mind paying money for a good steak. This place is not it. read more

The calamari is ok, I liked the sweet and spicy sauce that comes with it. Came two different times this week: The chicken on the bed of mashed potatoes in a creamy sauce was good, recommend. When we got there, there was a 30-40 min wait so we sat at the bar which was first come first serve. The service was pretty good and one of the bartenders even offered us an exclusive cocktail not on the menu. We got our apps within 10 min of ordering. We also ordered the ultimate pepperoni pizza and salmon with charred cauliflower, which were both good but the salmon was slightly undercooked. We had made reservations for a Sunday night. The restaurant wasn't very busy but the hostess was frazzled and clueless as to how to manage the seating for us and about 5 other people waiting. She asked us three different times our names. We tried to speak to the manager but she was just as clueless as the hostess so we left. Cork and Pig get it together. read more

Service was slow and inattentive (I could have grace for the other short comings if the service was improved. A smile goes a long way... hint-hint). We didn't see our waitress between taking our order/bringing our drinks and bringing the check. The food was above average but certainly not spectacular. My wife enjoyed her French dip sandwich. My fish and chips were good but the fries were meh. My daughter's pizza was BIG. She enjoyed it and said "it was ok" which is teenage girl slang for she liked it The atmosphere was nice (the only tv we could see was behind and center of the bar. Kind of hard to see if your game watching but, due to poor service, I'm nitpicking). The music was out of place for an upscale pub/restaurant (80's/90's pop. Great music choice for a chucky cheese or bowling alley but not so much for an upscale restaurant or any dining in 2024). If they improve the service (and change the music) it would help justify $100 lunch. Otherwise, I'd suggest trying another restaurant. read more

I never have a problem with this establishment besides trying to get a table even on a Tuesday at lunch. My fault as I should make a reservation. Besides that it's a great spot. So everyone RAVES about this place. Service was kind of slow. I order a Moscow mule and a glass of red cab that was good. I got the grilled artichokes which were great. Then the duo dip. Pimento cheese was ok however everyone else loved it. I loved the guac that it came with. I got a filet medium rare. And it was not that great tbh. And the mashed potatoes tasted like they put olive oil on top. It was very funky. I got the tres leches cake which was huge enough to split and it was really good. The place was clean and nice. I have been to both locations. The 2 stars is primarily because my food was pretty decent, albeit cold. The problem I have is service. Short handed, I understand. Long waits are to be expected sometimes. We generally say nothing. At BOTH locations we experienced this: First of all, we were not at either location at peak times... At both locations, the people at the table next to us came in long after us. Our drinks, their drinks, took forever to arrive. Water never refilled. The table next to us complains quickly and literally gets the whole restaurant thrown at them. Apologies, extreme attentiveness. The manager at their table every 57 seconds. Meanwhile, we sit. Out waiter simply dissapeared for long periods of time. The manager was hyper focused on 2 tables of whiners while everyone else was just out of luck. The manager at both locations looked at us and our EMPTY GLASSES and said nothing while continuing to kiss butt at the whiney table...kinda odd but ok. So the secret of good service at off peak times is complain, duly noted. Could we have complained? Yes. But we were not in a hurry. My food, okay but cold. My boyfriend? Greasy, cold. Btw, we ordered the calamari appetizer. CALAMARI. we got a few pieces of calamari, a lot of fried onion and some fried artichokes. Don't call it calamari if it's a mixed basket...and it was not hot. This was my fourth and final time. It's a shame because my drink was amazing, (only one and I couldn't get a refill...but you know, the other table was more important). In the end, just bad service and poor timing and rather odd that we experienced the same management throwing themselves at the feet of one table of whiney buttnards and ignoring the rest of their patrons. Went for brunch and ended up staying for dinner! The food, drinks, and vibes were great. The bartenders were amazing and attentive. Definitely recommend if you're ever in the area! Told the waiter that I have celiac disease/gluten allergy. The kid serving us said he had no idea if I could have anything on the menu. I told him he needed to go ask. He came back and said the only dish I could get was a salad. He brought us our food and set my salad in front of me with croutons on it. So frustrating. One of our Favorites! We love the spinach and artichoke dip and pig pizza. I really like their Rum Punch or the piglet. They don't have a "kids menu" but do have a few items - if I remember correct there was a PB&Banana, hamburger and one more thing? Fries or fruit for a side. Not super kid friendly as it's a nicer restaurant but doable if your kids can stay occupied at the table. We prefer to leave the kids at home and do a date night here when we can though! read more

I will maintain that the Odessa location is BY FAR the better (best if you consider the other two locations) experience. I got seated on the patio which was really nice... a bit chilly so they turned on the burner/heater deal which helped. The service left A LOT to be desired. It took forever for someone to get my drink order, never mind my food order. I ordered the Chorizo pizza which was really good and definitely up to their standards. That is the only reason this review is a 3-star. Aside from the food being good, the service was so lacking: from the hostess almost seeming like she didn't want to seat me to the server taking an extremely long time to get/deliver my orders (folks who were seated after me placed their orders AND got their food ahead of me). Total package! Sometimes when you don't know a city and you just choose a place bc they have outside seating you usually get lucky if either the food or the service is good. But here, everything was top notch. This place has me going "hmmm wonder when we will get to go back to Odessa!!?" I wish we could have tried the whole menu. All the dishes coming out looked scrumptious. This place isn't just "good for a small city", it's competitive anywhere. Our server was a Rockstar. Our steak was medium rare perfection. Crispy edges with chared black pepper. Worcester butter (that I am going to try and copy). Hell, even the asparagus (thanks to that house vinaigrette!) is write home worthy. More like a 3.5/5 Located in the ally village My partner and I came in the evening without reservations and lucky enough, there was one table available. If you don't want to wait and are going during prime time, than it's best to make a reservation. This place is the new American sort. Ambiance is great. Saw people coming for a date night and celebrations. Service is great. Our server, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Drinks were really good! Highly recommend the nodding donkey cocktail. The beef short ribs were not as good as expected since everyone seems to rave about the food here. The whole dish was lacking in flavor, even the mashed potatoes. My partner said the Texas burger wasn't that great either... the shoestring fries were pretty good, though. We went for happy hour. Got the happy hour menu items deviled eggs and veggie pizza. The waitresses asked if we wanted marinara or ranch to dip the pizza in and we said both. We feel they should have said "for $2 more do you want marinara sauce and .50 more for ranch" for your pizza. We were very surprised to be up-charged for items we assumed came with the dish..... and $2 is a lot for a marinara sauce.... We also got a regulator entree of fish and chips with a side of Brussel sprouts. All the food was good. The happy drinks were really overpriced for what they were. My French toast was delicious! And I loved that it was only one slice, not an overwhelming amount of food. We had mimosas too, the carafe came pre-mixed, which I'm not used to. If you like minimal juice I'd ask if you can have them separate. Great food and service, will definitely go back if we are in town again. read more
