What isn't to like about the blue door? Phenomenal service and fantastic cocktails. The crew they have there know what they're doing. Beer recs? They have it. Not a sweet cocktail person? They can do that also. From wine to craft beer, I can't recommend these guys/gals enough.

Best cocktails in Midland hands-down and they have a great happy hour with a really laid-back atmosphere

We love the Blue Door. Has an old bar look with a bit of a hipster vibe. The bartenders are extraordinarily talented at concocting your favorite mixed drinks. Have had so many different ones. My favorite is the Ciao Bella. Picture worthy & delicious!

This is one of the most high-end bars in Midland. If you looking to have a happy hour with girls friends or after dinner drinks on date night, this is a great place to go. They have seasonal cocktails, happy hours specials, and partner with the Mexican restaurant next door for a few dinner options. This is my favorite bar in Midland, and though it's a little pricey, the quality never disappoints. The service by far is the best out of all the bars in Midland. I love this place and hope to see it continue to thrive.

This is my second trip here this time it was a great experience all around. Got greeted right away, and the drink I got was French tonic, the ingredients are Farmers Gin, Lille Blanc, and elderflower tonic with mint and strawberries,I recommend this drink if you want a refreshing I worked all day and want to relax cocktail. I was going to another cocktail but they only have ice ball drinks with tequila and mezcal, if they had a vodka or whiskey version I would have ordered another drink, since what I wanted wasn't available I called it a night, some people who like an option other than tequila or Mezcal may make the same decision. Other that detail Great job Blue Door I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great cocktail. 1st visit I was I found his place, it was a good find. I was spending one night in Midland and wanted a cool cocktail lounge to try some to concoctions. They had a good variety and selection. I would give 4 stars but I saw the male bartenders walk by me twice to help some ladies that had arrived after me. The female bartender asked what the guy next to me wanted right we he sat down. So that shows there is no consistency in service. All patrons should be greeted within 30-45 seconds of sitting down, even if it is saying I will be right with welcome to (insert establishment). I saw this on bar rescue on TV all customers should feel like VIP. This was about a half full bar on Sat at 8:30pm. The female bartender gave excellent service and asked if I wanted another drink when my drink was near gone. This is exactly how it should be done. I will try to make it back to see if they can get a fourth star. Don't let this review keep you from coming here I think this is a four star place but I had a 3 star experience as I walked in and sat down I waited about 4 -5minutes before they asked if I wanted a drink.

By far my favorite bar in Midland! Staff is always friendly, they have a decent happy hour, the drinks are always mixed well and delicious, and they give you pretzels and warm peanuts to snack on. We've gone a few Saturdays dying happy hour, 4p-7p, and there aren't many customers. The place has dim lighting and is a bit romantic, but the decor is very chic and modern. It hasn't been crowded when we've gone and the atmosphere is very chill!

By far the best service in midland. The service in midland is lacking in most places, but here at the Blue Door you get a great drink at a great price with customer service that is above par. The folks here make you feel like family. Will Heather Devyn Erica Audrey Hayley and Dillon are my new family here. Thanks guys Mark Porter

Cool hangout spot. A different flavor then most bars in Midland which for me is nice. I usually enjoy their Whiskey or Beer collection.

The reason it missed the 5-star mark with me was our waitress was slow to do everything. Even with taking our drink order. Then our food order. The worst was waiting for my final bill. And then she forgot our takeout box for my youngest. I don't know why she didn't have a greater sense of responsiveness with our party of 3, but it was like this the entire duration of our meal on July 25, 2026. It was super frustrating! The other reason I knocked off a star off was because the towel dispenser was depleted in the lone restroom. I had to flag down an employee with drenched hands. THE PROS I called about 20 minutes ahead of time to reserve a table because I knew this brassiere was on the small side. The lady on the phone was courteous and professional. If you have a hot date, I highly recommend reservations particularly in the evening. This seems like that sort of place. When we arrived, I found free street parking a short walk away. We were promptly greeted and seated. To enter the restaurant, you must go inside the Frost Bank tower's lobby, but to exit there is a door just beyond the bar. This place has beautiful, eclectic decor. The bar area was somewhat rounded and has an easygoing, but classy feel to it. THE FOOD The ambiance is what made this a great mother/daughters brunch date. The food sets it apart from the majority of restaurants in this oil industry town. The have East Coast-sourced oysters on the menu! These are far superior to their West Coast counterparts. I would have opted for these for our app if it weren't for my minions, I mean children. Pigs in a Blanket ($15.00) - yet another appetizer my daughters pigged out on that I didn't get to try. And they said they weren't that hungry! Lies all lies. They looked divine with nicely cooked juicy sausage and everything seasoning on the pastries. Avo Toast ($11.50) - my newly-turned teen daughter and I both had our own. I opted for eggs over easy which were cooked nicely. She oddly chose scrambled eggs for her, but she ate pretty much all of it. Smashed Burger ($17) - my youngest had this and said it was excellent. Nice touch with an American flag planted into the top bun. For the umpteenth time she did not share a fry with me. It is what it is. Mocha latte ($5.00) - my youngest's birthday which I will be missing since she'll be visiting her father is coming up so this was a treat for her. I tried it. Quite good after being thoroughly stirred. 1988 Martini ($18) - pricey but oh so good. The olives stuffed with bleu cheese were not bad. I had to try it even though the thought of bleu cheese kind of turned me off. Lol. Will I return? Of course because I have faith it will be 5 stars next time. Look at the other raving reviews! It has a nice easy-going, small-town Texas feel to it which is hard to describe unless you've lived in a town like this like I have. The inside is typically nice and chill; an ideal environment to grab a cocktail or two and conversate with a date, coworker, group of friends, whatever. Out of all the bars I have been to in Midland, I think Buffalo Nickel has the best selection of whiskey especially. I am not a huge whiskey aficionado but I have heard from ones that this is the place to go. I am more of a tequila and beer guy and they have everything I want. The unique thing about this bar is that the back patio is smoke-friendly. I am guilty of wanting some nicotine after some drinks so this is a great place for me. They also sell cigars if that is your thing. Cheers!

They have a nice selection to grab a couple to smoke on the back patio or to take with you for later. Hubby really enjoy the Crazy Alice, said it was one of the best cigars he's ever had! We sat at the bar and our bartender was very sweet and attentive. Explained the cocktails a bit for us and gave suggestions. The Pumpkin Spiced White Russian caught my eye online so I went with that and hubby had an Old Fashioned. Drinks were spot on so when the bartender said they had a great Espresso Martini I said but of course! It was absolutely delicious!! We highly recommend Buffalo Nickel for a small gathering or date night cocktails.

I will say that I was pretty impressed with the food and especially the service but there were still some things that kept me from giving it a perfect score. First off, the service was impeccable. When I walked in, I was greeted right away and sat promptly. My customers that I was taking out arrived a bit later because I was early but I was still provided with water and not bothered. An additional customer came so we had to move tables and it was done promptly and professionally. We were helped without it being overwhelming. Great job! The food was good and well-prepared. I ordered the roasted salmon and it was cooked very well with a crispy skin, the asparagus and brussel sprouts were salted well and cooked just right, the only complaint on the taste is that I wish there was a bit more jalapeño sauce and that it was spicier. It had no kick to it at all. My main overall reason for taking a star off is that the prices are definitely too high compared to the offering. Was the salmon dish good? Yes. But was it $39 without tax and tip good? Not really. Overall, I recommend this place to impress a date or to take a customer where conversation can be had easily with a nice atmosphere.
