Food was amazing!! Service is a little slow but not too bad. The atmosphere is chill and has good music.

A3. Edamame

Surprised Midland even had a ramen place to be honest, but happy I stumbled upon this place. We were seated right away for lunch. Got seated at a spacious booth. Place was clean and inconspicuous. We ordered a few items. Staples, really. The edamame was sweet and crisp. It was a little too al dente for me. The steamed buns were delicious! Hot and fresh. I could've just ordered those and called it a day! We topped it off with the black tonkatsu ramen. It was hot and rich. You can taste the garlic, but not as overpowering as other ramens I've had. The chatsu is well done and plenty of it. The boiled eggs were soaked in soy sauce so they were flavorful. The noodles were cooked perfectly. It seemed a little oily for me, but I didn't mind it. There's corn, bamboo shoots and a slice of nori to fill the ramen. Usually there's Narutomaki, wakame, and mushrooms in the other ramens I eat, so this seemed a bit lacking. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves. Service was good and I'd like to try their boba and more of their dim sum.

Thai Milk Tea with boba

Sapporo has great ramen for Midland, TX. The only reason why I am giving 4/5 stars is because of the basic flavors. Starting with the boba Thai tea, which was great, but the boba had no taste. For the appetizers, the karage chicken is basically little popcorn chicken pieces that you would get from a boba shop, and the pineapple cream cheese wontons don't taste like pineapple at all, but they were still yummy regardless. Both ramen bowls, spicy and black tonkatsu, are delicious! I am particular with my noodles, and I must say that Sapporo ramen noodles are not that bad. The noodles reminded me of spaghetti noodles in thickness, and the chashu pork tasted terrific compared to other places I have tried. If you're craving ramen I recommend stopping by and giving it a try. The vibe inside the restaurant is pretty cool too!

Walked in with my family and was welcomed by a waitress that was short tempered. "Anything else" "Anything else" is how she responded. I asked her about a picture of what was obviously milk tea with boba but was unsure about the flavor because of no description on the menu and she sly's "uhhh it's milk tea(display of attitude)". I ordered a General Tso for my son in which she quickly corrected my pronunciation. By this time I glanced over to my wife and I can clearly see her struggling to holding back giving this waitress a piece of her mind. This place has a digital QRC menu without the option for a physical one which I found to be quite peculiar. The egg rolls we ordered were clearly microwaved and kept refrigerated due to the serving plate being hotter than the actual food and overall bland taste. The broth of spicy Tonkatsu that I ordered was also flavorless with only the taste of spice. Adding soy sauce was the only way I was able to eat this meal 1 out of 5. The General Tso was a 4 out of five. Lastly, the miso soup that my wife ordered was okay but nothing special. 2.5 out of 5. This place has a pretty good layout and overall look but that is quickly diminished by the lack of hospitality, mediocre food and overpricing.

This is called Karage Chicken with some Honeydew/Almond Ice Tea.

The establishment in the inside is very lively. They had college football on the screens. The ambient of the place was very appealing. The service and hospitality was great. There was like only 2 customers inside. I went around 4pm. Best time to get quick service and the food out quickly. The Japanese fried chicken was very delicious. It was something new for me. I did enjoyed the taste and the sauce it was included. This appetizer it is a must to have with your lunch or dinner. The Spicy Happy Beef Ramen was... okay. I felt there wasn't enough taste to the soup. It needed more salt or something to bring it to life. It felt like a low level sodium soup. Haha. The only spiciness was the chopped jalapeños. The jalapeños tasted like it was just added versus being cooked with the soup. I wasn't a big fan of non cooked jalapeños. The boba drink was great. Overall, I did feel like it is a bit pricey. It is the only great Japanese Ramen spot in Midland. It you have the money go for it!

The reason it missed the 5-star mark with me was our waitress was slow to do everything. Even with taking our drink order. Then our food order. The worst was waiting for my final bill. And then she forgot our takeout box for my youngest. I don't know why she didn't have a greater sense of responsiveness with our party of 3, but it was like this the entire duration of our meal on July 25, 2026. It was super frustrating! The other reason I knocked off a star off was because the towel dispenser was depleted in the lone restroom. I had to flag down an employee with drenched hands. THE PROS I called about 20 minutes ahead of time to reserve a table because I knew this brassiere was on the small side. The lady on the phone was courteous and professional. If you have a hot date, I highly recommend reservations particularly in the evening. This seems like that sort of place. When we arrived, I found free street parking a short walk away. We were promptly greeted and seated. To enter the restaurant, you must go inside the Frost Bank tower's lobby, but to exit there is a door just beyond the bar. This place has beautiful, eclectic decor. The bar area was somewhat rounded and has an easygoing, but classy feel to it. THE FOOD The ambiance is what made this a great mother/daughters brunch date. The food sets it apart from the majority of restaurants in this oil industry town. The have East Coast-sourced oysters on the menu! These are far superior to their West Coast counterparts. I would have opted for these for our app if it weren't for my minions, I mean children. Pigs in a Blanket ($15.00) - yet another appetizer my daughters pigged out on that I didn't get to try. And they said they weren't that hungry! Lies all lies. They looked divine with nicely cooked juicy sausage and everything seasoning on the pastries. Avo Toast ($11.50) - my newly-turned teen daughter and I both had our own. I opted for eggs over easy which were cooked nicely. She oddly chose scrambled eggs for her, but she ate pretty much all of it. Smashed Burger ($17) - my youngest had this and said it was excellent. Nice touch with an American flag planted into the top bun. For the umpteenth time she did not share a fry with me. It is what it is. Mocha latte ($5.00) - my youngest's birthday which I will be missing since she'll be visiting her father is coming up so this was a treat for her. I tried it. Quite good after being thoroughly stirred. 1988 Martini ($18) - pricey but oh so good. The olives stuffed with bleu cheese were not bad. I had to try it even though the thought of bleu cheese kind of turned me off. Lol. Will I return? Of course because I have faith it will be 5 stars next time. Look at the other raving reviews! The inside is typically nice and chill; an ideal environment to grab a cocktail or two and conversate with a date, coworker, group of friends, whatever. Out of all the bars I have been to in Midland, I think Buffalo Nickel has the best selection of whiskey especially. I am not a huge whiskey aficionado but I have heard from ones that this is the place to go. I am more of a tequila and beer guy and they have everything I want. The unique thing about this bar is that the back patio is smoke-friendly. I am guilty of wanting some nicotine after some drinks so this is a great place for me. An additional customer came so we had to move tables and it was done promptly and professionally. We were helped without it being overwhelming. Great job! The food was good and well-prepared. I ordered the roasted salmon and it was cooked very well with a crispy skin, the asparagus and brussel sprouts were salted well and cooked just right, the only complaint on the taste is that I wish there was a bit more jalapeño sauce and that it was spicier. It had no kick to it at all. My main overall reason for taking a star off is that the prices are definitely too high compared to the offering. Was the salmon dish good? Yes. But was it $39 without tax and tip good? Not really. Overall, I recommend this place to impress a date or to take a customer where conversation can be had easily with a nice atmosphere.
