I visited here on a Thursday night with a friend of mine. The concept of the bar seemed really cool so I was excited to check it out. I unfortunately didn't have the chance to check out the speakeasy portion of the bar but maybe next time. There are plenty of games like jenga, cornhole, basketball, skee ball, the game where you throw a ball to hit the clowns down, a huge slide (see pictures), and more. They also had a DJ playing music while I was there and it looked like they do live music there too based off the stage. You can spend a lot of time here. The drinks were pretty good. A bit overpriced in my opinion, but not too bad. They have quite a few beers on tap if beer is your thing. The service was a lot quicker than I thought it would be considering how busy it was. The three bartenders working at the time were quick and friendly. The bar is also smoke friendly if that's is something that matters to you. They have a very large parking lot. Even though the bar was busy when I visited, there were plenty of parking spots. read more

This place is pretty cool and seems like a nice hang out spot in town. They have games and a of couple bars, inside and outside. People are friendly as well regarding the staff. The coolest part of this place though is the speakeasy they have inside through that door with the code. Go there if you can. It's very very chill and the drinks are great. I didn't have any food but the menu seemed pretty simple. Nothing crazy. There is a dress code so be mindful of that. We come to Midland once a year for a weekend for work, this Is definitely a place to try and come and stay for a few hours with friends. Oh, and good music. read more

Whew! This is not a spot I would return to even if someone paid me. I always like to start with the good: Admittedly, this spot is super cute with fun outdoor games and plenty of TVs broadcasting a variety of pay to play games, giant jenga, corn hole, slides, swings - a true adults playground. The one star rating is based solely on my interaction with one bartender. I dont think he had a name tag on, but he was short, a little chubby with a black beard and backwards baseball cap. Talk about rude - Ive heard Texans can be pretty nice & polite but he couldn't have been any more opposite which is strange considering he was serving me. I ordered a basic G&T and, as expected, it was nothing to write home about. No hello, didn't even halfway a smile, no "you're welcome" when I said thank you for my drink - just piss poor interaction. Texas was never a place that ever desired to go to, and with people like that, I have absolutely no desire to return. End of story. read more

The bouncers are on a power trip. They turned us away because my husband was wearing shorts with NO BELT LOOPS! Oh my gosh the insanity. No belt loops while going to an outdoor bar?! How dare we... Anyway, they are enforcing this "dress code" when nothing is posted on their website so it's really just sounds like they pick and choose who they want to let in for whatever reason they may be feeling that night. Wow such a nice place. A bit pricey but real nice. Indoor outdoor so take your pick. Si "tienes el nopal en la frente" ponte truchas. People are usually locals and don't often interact with tourists which is good. It's definitely worth a try if your spending a couple of days in Midland. Tried to come to the "family friendly" taco and margarita festival that was blatantly advertised as child friendly just to be told at the check in tent that the owner of fair to midland was kicking out the children already there, and not allowing any more. one small'ish draft beer was $9.75, nuts. the bacon cheese burger was so overdone by the 18-ish cook it could have passed for something leather-made. and the tater tots were equally overcooked to the point of disintegration when stabbed with a fork. never going back unless i am drug there. read more

A group of parents were here for a Friday Night Lights football game - complete with extended rain delay! We had a fantastic time in a fun environment. The pretzel bites were phenomenal (all the food was great) and the service was stellar. Mike (the general manager) was tremendous, as well! I highly recommend this as a gathering spot! read more

My girlfriend and I went on St. Patrick's Day. We absolutely loved the games (giant foosball, ping-pong, corn hole, the silo slide, tabletop Jenga, arcade games) We heard about a Speakeasy, but it wasn't opened on Mondays. Definitely going back to check it out. Had a small issue with my bar tab (I only had 2 beers but was charged for 5 shots and the 2 beers) but the bartender was a big help and resolved it immediately. read more

Music was entirely too loud. If the bartender cannot hear a person ordering drinks then the music is too loud. It also seemed like one particular bartender was so focused on two guys that he could not focus on customer at hand. The food was meh and that might be an overstatement. Really cool place, unique concept. The food is good and the guy working the food window is super helpful. Prices aren't bad, but the bartenders are super douchey and unattentive. I sat down at an empty bar, and they both walked past three times each without even acknowledging me, then two groups sat down on either side of me and they both got waited on before me. So the name of this place brought back memories of grandparents casually saying the phrase "Fair to Middlin" when asked how things were going. It's actually a old quality grade given to cotton meaning average, acceptable, or tolerably good. I am sad to say that's pretty much how I felt about this place. The food was ok. Burgers were decent. I do appreciate a toasted bun. The Gouda cheese add on wasn't worth the extra dollar though. The fries were soggy. The drinks (even water and soda had to be purchased separate at the bar) were flat. My buddy said his beer was flat too. Someone ordered pretzel bites. Which were ok but they must be cooked with the same oil as funnel cakes because they did taste and smell like a funnel cake. On top of all that it was pricey. I asked about a corn dog and they said it was $6. Come on guys... The best thing was the fried pickles. The portion was decent and they were actually pretty good. I am not really sure what this place aspires to be. It's really more of a bar than anything. The decor is neat with a state fair theme. There is a outside area with some games and a slide. We were there around 6. So it was pretty quiet with maybe 20 people there. Most standing around outside drinking and competing for attention of the handful of women around. You get the vibe it can get pretty busy later in the evenings. It's setup right in the middle of all the hotels. So I'm sure all the out of town oil field workers come here to cut loose, probably after actually eating elsewhere. While there were a few games and activities, I only saw two people playing cornhole the whole time we were there. The dress code was very strange after 8. It seems setup to ensure no one is too dressed up and at the same time ensuring that no one is coming in half naked. But then it states if you are there before 8. It doesn't matter what your wearing. I guess your just grandfathered in. All in all. I gave it 2 stars over 1 star because I am just not personally into drinking and bars. So I don't want to let that over influence giving them a low review. Giving two purely based on this place as a restaurant. If your into drinking and the party scene, it might be worth checking out after 8. I bet it gets pretty lively for the bar crowds. Besides, once your tipsy the quality of the food is probably less of an issue. :) read more

Fun environment, obviously the games are just silly carnival games but like everything... it's as fun as you make it Drinks are good & food is good carnival/festival food. The Roughneck Cereal is absolutely the best thing on the menu if you want a dinner-like option that's not just bar food. The buffalo fries are perfect shareables that's the whole table will enjoy. It's a decent place to hang out and grab a drink late at night. Not too many options to drink past 12am usually around this town. Past 8pm, they apparently don't allow sleeveless shirts such as tank tops which I found to be odd. Maybe I can stay if I showed up at 7:59pm with a tank top? Service was standard. Ordered a Yeungling Flight which I normally don't see too often on tap. There's a variety of people here age ranging from mid 20s to 60s? Looks like a really fun place, with seesaws and slides - plus arcade games. We are from out of town for a wedding so we aren't aware of the laws in Texas. We brought our daughter (1.5YO) and we're turned away immediately (but professionally) which I appreciate. Would have been nice to have a "21+ venue ONLY" sign which other venues in Midland have. This is typically my go to place. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the customer service received by the bartender on Sunday night. She was wearing a cowboys Jersey with a lot of eyeshadow. She kept yelling and using foul language across the bar. She also gave attitude when when I requested to put my order on my open tab, but changed my mind to closing the tab. Stopped here after checking in to our hotel on our way from California. It was absolutely dead at 1pm on a Thursday so we basically had the run of the place to ourselves. The bartender was very very nice and attentive to us as the only customers. The games are fun and fairly priced (compared to San Diego) and they also offer multiple jenga, cornhole, and table tennis stations for no cost at all. It's an outdoor space and very spacious. With more people it looks like it would be even more fun! We still enjoyed ourselves on our own here though. Also, we did not order food as it looked like the kitchen was closed, but the draft beer was obviously acceptable. read more

It was a chilly evening with a bar that is inside and out so a big section of the wall is open to outside which means inside was a little chilly but drinking helps that!! I am from midland and love midland (only down side is there is little to do), did Fair to Midland understand their assignment, absolutely! I went on a week night with an old friend, so it was calm with only a few other patrons watching the football games. The staff was kind and attentive. Overall a great spot to hangout! read more

Management may want to consider a recent hire named Tyler Thames. He text harassed patrons Saturday night & made sure to try & ruin the evening. His absurd claims of "racism" and threats of fighting really ruined the evening. He did this exact thing at Woodrow's. Maybe consider why he doesn't work there anymore? Please dont let this person ruin your establishment. I won't let him stop us from coming but I will NOT allow this behavior to continue when I'm there. The constant texting continued after closing. Just something to consider if management wants people to continue to frequent there. It's be a shame to mark that place off the list like so many people did Woodrow's. read more

I've been to Fair to Midland a few times now. I am so glad we have such a fun place to hang out--it is just what Midland was missing! It's a great place to go during the day and a cool spot at night! A great idea but horribly overpriced. Was charged $22 dollars for two Vegas Bombs ($4-$6 each at any other bar in town). Same for their own cocktails which came out to $44 for four drinks. The food was also expensive and very hit or miss. The pretzel bites tasted like pure dough. Many items are no longer available including several we'd gone there specifically to try. The Peanut Butter and Honey wings were excellent though. If they fixed their pricing and added more actual fair food to the menu (and maybe offered them as a sampler) this place would be a lot better. read more
