We used to look forward to having Saturday lunches at Addies. Unfortunately the prices have increased by almost 30%. The service and food have been less than desirable. I ordered the chicken fried chicken that includes a house salad. When I didnt receive it, I asked the server said "I didnt think you wanted it." I said "If it comes w/the meal then YES I want it." She walked off with attitude. The mash potatoes that came with the meal looked brown and watery. When I asked what was it she said, "It's just a LOT butter." I looked at her confused, she huffed and walked away while I was still looking at her. I wanted "mashed" potatoes not butter potatoes. My fiance' order biscuits n gravy. He said "It tasted like Dollar Store gravy in a can." Lol Needless to say he tried to eat it but could only get 1/3 of it down. Then we overheard the diners behind us complaining about the pancake taste and the fact they they were the size of old-school LP albums and WHO could eat that much bread. Lol. After trying to eat this "food"...we just couldn't, Then waited at the table for 15 minutes for a To-Go box for my chicken fried (because that was the only thing really edible) we watched the servers play on their cell phones, not paying attention to customers. My fiance had to get up, interrupt their conversation and ask for box. So me being petty, when we paid I didn't leave a tip and if the server had asked why, I would've replied, "Because I didn't think you wanted one!" And where is the other "tomboyish" looking server that used to work there? She was funny, hospitable and knew how run that place! The crew we dealt with today... This food was sooooo good! The meals start around $15, but you get your money's worth and then some! We were celebrating our wedding anniversary the weekend we went, so this place became a new memory for us. My husband loves burgers and I love breakfast. We were trying to find a place in Midland that could serve both of our cravings, and we ended up finding our favorite place to eat! I only ate half of my meal and my husband made it through his burger ha! Also, if y'all are wanting hot sauce, ask for the house salsa. The owner is extremely helpful and friendly. The restaurant has been owned by the same family for two generations. The ambiance is a casual, family-friendly time warp with the best food in Midland! We found this little gem on Yelp, but the neighborhood and outside almost scared me away lol! But Addie's friendly staff and homemade delicious food made up for it. Located in an industrial neighborhood this funky little restaurant was adorable. We had a homemade biscuit with gravy, a western omelette with homemade hash browns and a number 4 special, eggs, sausage, beans, potatoes and a gigantic pancake. Everything comes out extra hot through the pass thru in the dining room. It's our first time in Midland Texas and we love supporting community businesses! read more

I want to start with this review saying I loved Addies dinner for years, been going on and off since 18 and now that I have moved to midland full time I've been going the last 9 months. Taken the wife, in laws and business associates here numerous times. 5 just in the last 2 months, 6 if you include us stopping by for thanksgiving. Yesterday my Wife ordered her food, She got the waffle meal. Was wonderful aside from the fact they don't have real butter but whipped spread but we have known that since we started coming here together. I ordered my normally meal I get all the time, Texas trio omelette hold the onions and green bell peppers, Add three eggs , green Chile and Chile verde. No hash browns or beans. Just a tortilla because they are so good. Well I guess they (the cook) thought I meant jalapeños instead of green Chile, even though I specifically said it. So I asked to send it back because I didn't want raw jalapeños. Waitress was nice and understood but the cook, she had a huge problem with it and in the back started yelling saying I didn't know the difference or know what green peppers were or anything cussing and yelling. She then started cussing in Spanish saying we were white and didn't know what we were talking about, I'm half Mexican and white, and speak Spanish, my wife has 18 years of Spanish learning including in college with time spent across South America being a translator for her family and friends on excursions. We know what green Chile , green bell peppers (which I'm allergic to) and green jalapeños are. The main cook left and sat in the back of the restaurant talking under her breath while the other cook made my new food, didn't want any discounts just my food made right. Food was great so was my wife's food. I paid with no discounts because I didn't want any. What was terrible, is while I was paying my wife walked outside and the cook was standing out there filming us leave. And once I got back to the car the wife told me she heard the cook cuss saying " ya turn around expletive" towards my wife. I didn't know this until I had already gotten in the car. Told my wife she looked liked she was on the phone on a FaceTime. And the wife said I think she was filming. I let this go yesterday but thought about it over night. I will never patron Addie's again and the 100s of times I've gone over the years won't matter, more the 10s of people I've sent there or recommended to there I will not. I called numerous people and explained to never go there again. It's not correct to treat customers this way. As a business owner in midland this isnt something I would do for my service company. Nor stand if I had an employee do this. Absolutely disrespectful and disgusting. read more

The absolute best breakfast in Midland! I have been here in town for months and finally found one with handmade chicken friend steak! The portions are huge, so you definitely get that you pay for. So I stopped in for breakfast before heading out to San Antonio. Had the migas. Pretty good. Chips were good n crispy. Jalapeños were fresh and hot. Beans were a bit different, but good - not what I call traditional refried beans. Not sure if they have a signatures dish that would set them apart. Got a side of avocado for $1.99-got 4 little thin slices from a small avocado. They got me on this one. Service was ok. Nothing outstanding. Overall, average. Food is so good but I do not agree with the way they run their business. I've been a few times and each time it's been sooo expensive. So finally I asked for an itemized receipt and they charged us for extra drinks that we never ordered, so I have a feeling they do this often. They also have outrageous tipping options (40%+). The servers were really attentive, and the food was ok, but it was hard to enjoy the meal given the condition of the public facing portion of the restaurant. Was intrigued by the rivers that said best club sandwich ever. Had to try it and it was indeed delicious. Big heart pieces of bacon and turkey. The bread was toasted on the griddle so no hard tear up the roof of your mouth toast. Waitstaff was super quick and took care of everything and were very accommodating. Authentic homemade breakfast. Delicious. When you first walk in, it feels a bit cramped. You can seat yourself, and the chairs are very cushioned and comfy. There are records hanging from the ceiling, and while the ceilings and wall seem dated, where you'll sit is in pretty good shape. The portion sizes are HUGE. I ordered a potato egg bean and cheese burrito. I asked for green salsa on the side and it was just delicious. I couldn't finish it so I'll have it for lunch too. The waitress said they also sell the salsa in 12oz jars but unfortunately they were out of stock when I visited. I even heard men at a table behind me commenting on how they felt this was a great place and satisfied with their food. I concur. Even the kids meal was a generous portion. The only thing I didn't like was that when you ask for the check they don't give you a paper copy. Your waitress totals it up on a gadget and shows you a digital total to insert your card. They even have a button option on that thing to tip 50%. LOL. Never seen that before. I would've liked to have looked over my receipt. I'm very picky about my breakfast burritos and Addie's did not disappoint. The chorizo and egg burrito was just the right amount of spicy and the tortilla was flaky and delicious. I was ALMOST able to finish it all. I loved the retro decor. The staff was friendly and the food was delivered quickly. I will definitely be stopping by again on my next trip to Midland. read more

We were on our way to Big Bend and looking for a good breakfast place, we found this great place on Yelp. A true gem of a restaurant, great food, great service, very friendly and the decor was fantastic especially if you like the 50"s - 60's era, even the music in the old time juke box was in this era. The founder's daughter, although very busy, made time to tell us the history of the restaurant which made it even more special. Had lunch with mom. It was not an place where we would go back. All menu prices are blacked out so we looked online for a menu to give us an idea about cost. When all said and done 3.15 for a can of coke, 4.99 for two pieces of bacon added to a burger. The fact I order my burger the same everywhere meat bacon bun nothing else please and dry. I get it with cheese. They take it back and pull cheese off and send it back out. Absolutely not. Fries were ask for crispy and they came out soggy. Amazing that they have such positive reviews since it had 4 tables today for lunch. And the fact to have a turkey club which they forgot bacon on and a double burger with two soft drinks. My husband had a 3 egg meal with sausage and a tortilla, and I had French toast and bacon-and we both had coffee. 1 cup each. The total was $46+. I had order a double cheeseburger and chips. The good part of meal was star for the size of burger and second star was homemade chips where great. Thank you also for wrapping the bun and meat in foil. Few things I felt needed attention: Even though burger was HUGE, it had no flavor. It really needs some seasoning to give some flavor.
