First time visiting the Cotton Patch and I must say I was underwhelmed. We decided to start off with the jumbo fried mushrooms and replaced the honey mustard sauce with ranch. They had so much batter on them it hard to taste the mushrooms, but at least the ranch sauce was good. I ordered the chicken and dumplings with garlic mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. Hubby ordered the double pork chops with fried apples. Verdict on the meals... Banquet could've microwaved it better. People go somewhere else. read more

So upset with them I waited about 50 minuets and never got my food I talked to the manager explained the situation she said let me check on your food it was to late I had to get back to work and asked if I could just pay for my appetizer and drinks and leave she asked again let me check on your food I said no it was ok I just wanted to leave son if I had to pay for what I got she offered to check on my food again I said no I just want to leave son if I had to pay let me pay she told me I could just leave I really didn't want to make a scene but I think that's what happened. read more

Quite possibly the worst service and attitude of any waiter and management team ever! Spent around 20 minutes waiting for a table (not bad for Midland) then sat for another 20 at a table with no one even attempting to take a drink order or our food order! Finally was told by a waiter that we weren't his table but he would wait on us! 15 minutes later we had drinks, no bread and still haven't gotten to order yet! After 15 more minutes we finally ordered our food, 50 minutes after we sat down! Things went downhill from there it took over 45 minutes to bring our food, had to ask for our Salads three times before we got them! Half the food was cold when it came out and some of it was wrong! Found out from the manager when we complained that our waiter was busy waiting on His own family at another table and we would just have to wait! Cotton Patch used to be one of my favorite places in Midland! I was told they were under new management, I am guessing it will be under no management if they keep up the same attitude that we saw today! read more

I've lived here for a couple of years and we finally decided to come here. I'm so glad we did! The food was good and we got exceptional service. Our server, Kaci, was very attentive and nice. Best service we have received in town! The onion strings were tasty and the badder was very flavorful. The mushrooms were too breaded and I couldn't really enjoy the mushrooms as much as I would had liked. The country fried steak was good but a little too much breading as well. The sweet potatoes fries were delicious along with the chicken sandwich :) This place gets a 5 because the service was pretty awesome. If it were solely on the food it would had gotten a 4. I can't wait to return so I can venture out on some of the other food items. read more

Paco was so nice and the food was amazing. We did wait 30 mins for a table but it was worth it!

We have often dined at this cafe and always were satisfied with the service. The food is always good. However, the last time we were there it was over crowded with no social distancing observed. Our young waiter was the only one of the wait staff wearing a face mask. Not sure if a manager was on that night or not, but wasn't a responsible one at any rate. Very slow service if you are lucky enough to get seated. Last night wasn't the case. Waited over 20 min at the door and NO ONE even spoke to us until we initiated the conversation. Asked to speak to management and when he finally came out we were walking out the door. He was quick to act as if we were the problem and no one in the restaurant did anything wrong. 3rd time to attempt to eat at Midland location..... first time we left with coupons because of a rude waitress, 2nd time service was no better service wise, gave it a 3rd time and never made it to the table. It would be understandable if they were busy, but that wasn't the case. And didn't really seem to care that we were upset. Won't be a 4th try in Midland. read more

Here's my few cents worth: this place needs to get their act together. Big time. From a seasoned restaurant pro, the service is shit and slow as molasses. Bad food bad service and expensive. My husband and I ordered the Cajun fish and we both got sick. Another two people of our party got sick as well. The mushed potato was old and smelly. It's a great place for some homestyle food. My wife loves the catfish and thinks the tarter sauce is the best she's ever tasted. I usually go with the fried shrimp or chicken fried steak, both are very good (the fried shrimp puts Red Lobster to shame). My only complaint is that they would give you a little more of their wonderful bacon flavored green beans. But what ever you do don't leave without trying the Dr. Pepper Chocolate Cake....it's very good! read more

When I got here there was no else in line at the to go. Now there are 8 of us. Somehow two people that were not here just got their orders. This place is crazy! Ordered two salads to go a little before noon and it took almost an hour for them to be ready. Took almost 10 minutes for someone to approach me to see if I had been helped. I've been here once before, the menu has heavy southern comfort foods and some hearty salads. I ordered the shrimp ceaser salad, well other than the so-so service, the food was unappetizing. There was hair in my food and the silverware was dirty and one of my shrimp was raw(I found this out after I chomped down on it). Yuck, I will not eat there again. I really hate giving bad yelp reviews but my husband and I did not have a good experience at all! We have been wanting to try cotton patch cafe for some time now so we finally decided to have dinner there. First coming in the atmosphere was great. We were seated quickly and our waiter came over immediately. I love to be tended to quickly but we didn't even get a chance to grab our menus before he asked what we wanted to drink. Then he asked if we wanted any appetizers..... we didn't even touch our menus yet and he didn't even think to offer a few favorites or tell us some options. Then 10 minutes pass before he comes and tells us he is out of the beer we ordered. It took 10 more minutes to get our beers. We placed our orders in between then he comes back and says they are out of ribs and just sets the menu on the table and asks what we want instead. Our waiter talked so low it was very hard to even hear him. After all of this our food took over 30 minutes to come out and the food was just okay. The manager came by half way through our visit and to be honest was the only good experience we had there. We will not be back unfortunately but with so many good reviews on yelp please judge for yourself. read more

Hello fellow yelpers this is a review on cotton patch cafe in Midland Texas and all I can say is this place is awesome I love their chicken fried chicken or the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes greens and their appetizers are pretty decent too the only thing that I do not like about this place is that it's very very crowded the seating very close together you have really no room to maneuver in between the tables but for what they like and that they make up in the excellent food and the excellent wait staff and courteous waitresses I would highly recommend this place read more

We were seated immediately, by very patient staff, even though the place looked very busy. Our table was close by one of twelve people, who weren't seemingly very happy. Despite that, all of the staff members were kind towards them, and everyone else They had a cheery and friendly attitude, and the atmosphere was exquisite. All of the tables were very clean, and the food was absolutely delicious and filling, with great portions for a reasonable price. This place had really gone down. They've remodeled and tried to make you think it's even better but it's not. The service was really bad. We waited 20 minutes for silverware and a napkin. We love their food and used to eat there nearly every sunday but for the last year we have noticed a smell when we try to eat there. Sometimes it is not too bad and we can stay and eat but most of the time as soon as we walk through the second set of doors the smell of sewage makes us sick to our stomach. We don't understand how other people or the workers can stand to be in there when it smells so bad. We noticed when it first started that there was a ladies restroom out of order and we know they had a leak from an air conditioner vent that would drip on one of the booths so maybe it is from one of those problems but whatever it is needs to be fixed because we were loyal customers and they have lost us due to the SMELL! read more

Yesterday a group of us went to Cotton Patch. We were seated promptly. I had Diet Coke, but all others had tea. Their tea was Very dark & cloudy. They all asked for water & ice to dilute it. As they were waited on, their tea refills were also very strong, so that more water had to be ordered to thin it. They never did just correct the problem. My food was fine, but two of my friends got chicken tenders. They were burned and VERY salty. They sent those meal back. The rest of us had almost finished our lunch before the replacement food arrived. I went and fussed at the manager. When their second set of chicken tenders arrived it was also overcooked, and my friend said it tasted like the grease was old. They could not eat the food at all. The manager comped their lunch, and comped the others' iced tea. The nightmare was the confusion the server had with the tickets. It took us 1 1/2 hours to get out of there, and two had never gotten to eat. Last of all they offered us free dessert, but we had actually watched a chocolate cake be sent back to the kitchen from another table. I will not be going back. read more
