This is a 50-year-old heirloom where each piece has a story, and it is an ongoing project. Given there were signs everywhere emphasizing their no-strinkage safety with cotton fabrics, I stupidity trusted it. It returned shrunk, each tiny piece slightly smaller and buckled, therefore not matching the ongoing work at home, and many pieces ripped off. AND the tiny stain still remained. I had a near heart attack. Staff insisted they could "fix it". I returned take 2, stain still there, but quick shoddy repair of ripped pieces and they (kindly) insisted I did not have to pay for their mistake. Then, I spent 2 weeks at home re-calibrating to the shrunk piece, and another week removing ruined torn pieces (some were over a 100 years). Lesson learnt. NEVER take a vintage piece to any dry cleaner! A month on, I was still working on repairs.

There is plenty of parking outside so it is convenient to drop off dry cleaning. The cost of laundering dress shirts is pretty cheap. I like to take my husband's dress shirts here whenever he needs them laundered. It beats needing to iron all those shirts myself. The cost of dry cleaning a jacket or coat is fairly expensive. It was about $20+ to dry clean a wool coat. I know drying cleaning coats are usually pretty expensive but I wish they had some kind of discount for regulars.

I tried two home remedies to remove the stain in the washer (which is how the tag on the dress told me to ash it) without success. I took the dress to the dry cleaners near my apartment to see if they could fix it. I explained this to the man at the front desk and showed him the stains. He marked them with red stickers and I left. A few days later I received a call saying that there was a tear in the dress that they could fix for $5. I asked them not to and let them know I would be in to pick it up. When I went in they showed me that the dress had a tear right by the stain where a sticker was placed. The owner tried to tell me that the tear was not their fault and refused to take any responsibility and actually called me a liar. I was willing to accept that this tear was caused on accident but they would not even admit that.

We picked up a pair of slacks that we had forgotten and had pressed only two days ago. The charge was $3 29. Then our account was charged $147.85. We went immediately to the bank to dispute the amount. When I called the owner he said that the credit machine was having problems. It is very difficult to communicate with them as their English is so poor. Can I accuse them of fraud, of course not. But I sure can accuse them of lousy bookkeeping and I will never use their services again!
