For the first time in a few years, I took a men's suit and a women's silk shirt in for dry cleaning. Corry's always does an excellent job. The only downside--and this was entirely on me--was not asking about prices when I dropped them off. Since I hadn't taken anything in for quite a while, I didn't realize how pricey it would be. I had my felt hat cleaned and was quoted $16. When I picked it up, I was charged $66!! They said it was because I had leather on it but it was just a leather band and even though I signed a waiver regarding the leather band that never changed the quote. The cleaning was mediocre as well. read more

After Corry's ruined the third item in as many years I am done. This company doesn't care for clothing. The items are not treated with care nor finished with attention. The real icing on the cake is that they charge extra for higher end clothing, without any explanation I have been charged an extra $20 or $15 for an item just because of the manufacture, not fabric content or pleating etc. this is on top of the normal fees. They have just lost a long term customer due to their inability to clean items without significant damage and unrelenting greed. read more

First time customer & on my cleaning pickup THEIR credit card system was down. Owner/Manager trying to repair said, "don't worry just pay next time". Next morning, I receive a voicemail claiming that my credit card was declined with other choice words and that I need to pay bill immediately or be sent to collections. Actual cleaning was mediocre at best and way too expensive. Tough business these days and I believe Corry's won't be in business much longer on LWC. I dropped 7 pieces of clothing last week to Corry's dry cleaning located in Lake City Way, Seattle . The items consisted of 3 long dresses in which 1 has a long camidole (kind of a lining), and 2 sets of suits. I asked the lady for any promotion or coupon and I was told there isn't any but if I register and watch for my email there should be one. I asked her for the costs of the dry cleaning but she did not give me maybe because there was another customer waiting. Mind you, this lady was not friendly at all. So today I picked up my items and I was so flabbergasted, and shocked because the cost was a whopping $172!!! I asked why she didn't give me an estimate and she said i didn't ask. I said I did . I told her had I known it would cost me that much I would have not left all those times and would probably just leave 2 items. i asked why it cost so much and she said you pay me first and I will give you the receipt. What a rude lady! I will never ever bring any of my dry cleaning items at Corry's dry cleaning in Lake City Way. Stay away from them. What a terrible and horrible service. read more

I started coming here about five years ago after my last dry cleaners lost a valuable piece of clothing. Corry's has a quick, reliable turnaround and accepts any kind of clothing or upholstery item. I could do without all the safety pins but that said, they've never lost any of my items. One of my favorite services is the car detailing. My dog gets carsick often and they've been able to completely remove stains and odors, leaving my car like brand new. read more

IRRESPONSIBLE, UNPROFESSIONAL, ARROGANT AND DISMISSIVE--that's how I'd characterize my recent experience with the owner of the Corry's/Fuzzy Wuzzy Rug Cleaning franchise, as I join the ranks of reviewers who have had similar miserable dealings with him over the years. Not much that I can do now to salvage the beautiful hand-knotted rug that came back to me discolored and misshapen, so I'll do what I can to spare others from his future misdeeds. Staff at the Lake City location were totally professional in hearing our concerns. Sadly, when the owner finally responded (although he claimed he'd previously tried to reach me--NOT), he was accusatory and dismissive about the marked change in color on one end of the piece and overall irregularity in resizing/restretching. He then went dark (as a previous reviewed encountered). A few days later I received an officious, unapologetic missive from him, flatly denying any responsibility. I've been a consumer of dry cleaning services for 45+ years; never had a problem aside from a rare lost button, nor have I had to deal with the likes of such unprofessional and irresponsible ownership. Terrible marks across all categories and a disservice to the many conscientious members of his profession who value their customers and take pride in providing quality, excellent service. I have never been so unimpressed by a dry cleaner ever, and that's saying a lot. I dropped off a sheepskin rug about 3 weeks ago. The large woman behind the counter quoted me $78 including tax. I presented her with a $25 off coupon that the company HAD SENT TO MY HOUSE. So rug was $50. I gave her 3 shirts and she told me $30. That was way high (not even to be pressed and bagged), but I was in a hurry and I wanted to see their quality. Fast forward two weeks. I call to check in on the rug (they had to sent it out of the house). The woman on the phone was very condescending (I actually think this was the original gal I met at the desk). I actually needed to tell her I wasn't in the mood for her attitude, I was busy and just needed my things from them, and asked if they were done. They were. I showed up the next day and the same woman charged me $106 for the 4 items. At most this order was $80. This goes above nickel and diming. I remarked to her that she overcharged me, she agreed, and told me that I ought to call in the am and talk to Tina as she could not remove the charges from my order. Annoyed, but running late, and finding the conversation useless, I left. I called and spoke with Tina the next day. She told me that the $78 was after the coupon, for which I replied that I never deal with a coupon that way; that I always pull a quote and then present a coupon. It's just the way I deal with most things. She had to "do more research" and then called me back to tell me how she had no resolve. In summary, I will NEVER do business with you again, no matter how desperate I am, nor will I refer you business. There's a term for this kind of business practice - it's "bait and switch". I sorely do not appreciate my interaction with your company and advise others to be VERY weary of their dealings with at least this store. Corry's does a great job. I've been going to them for fifteen years. At the Madison Park location, Ethna is excellent and friendly.

I have been going to Corry's on Lake City Way for a number of years. Service was good, they have a great program for frequent flyers (like me) where you can just drop off (without standing in line) because they give you a personalized bag and all your details are in their computer. However, the past three times I've taken my husband's shirts and my lovely Chico's clothing there - buttons come back broken, melted and/or missing! I think they have a button hater working there now. Before they would lovingly wrap button in tin foil to avoid the apparently toxic process that causes them to melt away. I can no longer afford to go to Corry's and am going to try the Wallingford Cleaners - highest ranked on Yelp - and apparently more expensive. Stay tuned. read more

I went to Corey's a few years ago to dry clean a suit and I was very satisfied with their work. Lately I've needed to clean the suit again, and having read the other reviews, I was a bit terrified to do so, but they're really close, and I was willing to take the chance. I called in advance and was told by a friendly representative that they would definitely be able to press or steam banquet tablecloths but not clean them (I washed them) for $5/each. I hauled all the tablecloths down there to be told they do not do that service. I was very irritated and the lady was unhelpful. I prefer to go to Bakkers now. read more

No longer a customer after going to this location for over 15 years. I brought a blazer and other clothes in for dry cleaning. When I returned to pick up my clothes I just happened to check the quality of the cleaning (typically I just pay, grab & go). The blazer and other clothing had not been cleaned. Just put in hangers and bagged for pick up. My payment had already been processed, so I asked for the clothes to be sent back for cleaning. When I returned, my blazer was not cleaned but the other clothes had been. I asked to be refunded or credited for the blazer and/or the inconvenience. They decided my long time patronage was not worth any credit or refund. I asked were they sure they wanted to lose a long term customer? The manager was just fine with the decision of the district manager. Poor cleaning, expensive pricing and no value for customers --- don't bother with this cleaners. Worst! Would not recommend it! They destroyed my expensive silk dress and won't apologize. I wish I could sue them!

We have been using this dry cleaner for the past year, mostly because it is convenient to home, but also partly because it is an Envirostar dry cleaner, which means they use less toxic chemicals in their cleaning process. Unfortunately, they have zero quality control. We take in several items a month, and 90% of the time they come back with the same stain on them and have to be reprocessed. Neither the processing center nor the local store staff ever checks to see if the soiling we reported when we left the garment has been effectively removed. It is always up to us to check the item before leaving the store, find the soil still on it, and have it sent back for re-cleaning. Now I understand that the less toxic chemicals might be less effective at cleaning. But they CAN get things clean when we send them back through, so I don't get why they don't check the quality of their work before sending it back to the store for customer pickup. This means every cleaning job takes twice as long because it has to be sent back for another 3-4 day turn-around time. We're finished with this place. Losing us as frequent customers (with all my husbands business suits and ties) is their stupidity. There are other Envirostar cleaners in the area who I'm sure will have better quality control. read more

Don't ever bring your suits here. Simple as that. My dry cleaner was closed for renovation so I decided to use Corry's since the man himself has shopped with me. I dropped off 2 custom suits and received one back that was not cleaned at all and still had remnants of the dog slobber from my pet as well as it was pressed so hot that white out lines on all the seems started showing, my other suit was a mill finish wool that was soft to the touch but when I received it back the entire think felt brittle again from pressing too hot with no proper care. I emailed them my complaint and the lady who responded said I could bring them in and file a complaint. Upon doing so I received no response and little help or remorse. read more

Dropped off a throw rug to be cleaned for $120. Picked it up and it still smelled. I returned it and hoped to have it re-cleaned. I was told that I had the option to have an enzyme treatment for odors, but I waived that option. I was never offered that option, it was never discussed. Employee stated that she ALWAYS offers the enzyme and I declined. I was never told about this option, she told me I was wrong. Evidently the customer is always wrong here. Horrible customer service. My girlfriend took some of our stuff here to get cleaned, and she was planning on using a coupon. She took the coupon out when she dropped off the clothes and the woman working there said that she would pay once everything was cleaned, so she put it away and thought nothing more of it. When we went back, the same woman informed us that the coupon was only valid when we dropped off the clothing... seriously?! I don't normally bother to spend the time to leave a bad review, but this woman was so overtly sneaky and underhanded that I had to post something as a warning to others. The prices at Corry's aren't terrible, and our clothes did get cleaned, but the behavior of the emlpoyee (owner?) we interacted with was so deplorable that we will not be going back. Getting presses and such done here they are fine, but they outsouce their alterations side of things and whoever does that does not know how to sew on patches, name tapes, or much else. Unethical company! Do not trust your "fine" clothing to them! I brought my expensive designer jacket in because I trusted this place. When I picked it up, it had a tear that happened during the cleaning process. The employee looked me in the eye and told me that the machine had broken and torn many peoples clothes. I filed a claim and the owner/manager said I had to pay $60 to have a forensic fabric test to get reimbursement to prove the fabric wasn't weak. I won't spend my money or trust my things with a dishonest, unethical company. This company needs to focus on maintenance of their equipment, ethics, and customer service! read more

I was worried when I saw the poor reviews of other locations of Corry's - so I checked my first batch of dry cleaning with them VERY thoroughly. Great job! Beautifully cleaned with an amazing pressing job. No damage to buttons or zippers...no weird spots. I'm very happy! Now...$73 for 6 pieces of dry cleaning...and $20 to clean a cotton bed coverlet? Yeah, that's an eye-popping cost, but I've resigned myself to the fact that dry cleaning in Seattle is just expensive. read more

I turned in 3 items, 2 coats that needed their zippers repaired and 1 pair of jeans with a loose button. i turned in my items on Wednesday Nov. 8th, on Friday November 10, I receive an email stating that my order is ready for pickup. Wednesday Nov 15th, I pick up my items buy $55 for the two jackets, the pants they did for free. After I get home via bus I look at my items and see that the jackets were not repaired. So now I have to go back (via bus) and do this process again. I call in to tell them about my issue, the lady on the phone was very helpful and empathetic. I mentioned that I would like a discount/refund, she said she would speak to the district manager "Sery" I venture out again to the Lake City location to find a different woman, Martha, also very helpful. She tells me that they will take my coats and repair (in my mind I'm thinking duh I paid for a service I didnt get of course you SHOULD take my jackets and fix them). So I think her and give her my jackets again and ask about the discount/refund. She said that "Sery" the district manager will not give a refund because they are providing a service. After some convincing, Sery gives me a 30% discount, which I will not see until my jackets are finished or I can go in tomorrow and wait for the one manager able to process my 30% refund. Being a worker in the costumer service industry myself, I was appalled at Sery's response and lack of integrity. At the end of the day your company made a mistake that disrupted the service and convenience I paid for. My jackets were not repaired as promised in my initial visit, I now have to wait to get my jackets on Nov 25th. When initially it took them two days to fix my jackets now its going to take ten days. I can either make another trip via bus to get my refund or wait until my jackets are finished. So on top of all this headache for ME, I have to fight to get a some kind of compensation. If I were Sery, I would have done what was right in the beginning to fix the problem and make the costumer happy. This demonstration of poor costumer service from upper level management is sad. Especially when the workers in the stores are soo friendly and helpful. read more

This review is for the UVillage store. Apparently my experience is not unlike previous reviewers. About 10% of the time I ask them to repeat their effort due to continued presence of spots or unwanted creases. This last time I requested a re-do, my dress returned with a new large black ink blot that they subsequently could not completely remove. Same issues as the other reviewers with regard to response to my claim form. Not worth repeating. Sadly, I am out my favorite dress to wear to summer weddings as well as a dry cleaning bill. On the bright side, I found a new family owned dry cleaning business in my neighborhood who do a great job. read more

I attempted to take a jacket here to have dry cleaned. That means DRY CLEANING, NOTHING WET. The employee has been through this before. It is VERY obvious that when a business asks their customers to sign a DAMAGE WAIVER when you drop off your items for cleaning, that more than likely your items will end up DAMAGED!!! So just don't do it, this releases these irresponsible, unprofessional rip off artists from BEING SUED. Which is what should happen if they use wet solutions to dry clean fabric that requires professional dry cleaning. The employee working guaranteed me that the way they "dry clean" using a process that is wet! So the colors on my jacket will bleed. I DO NOT WANT THAT. I took my business elsewhere. CONSUMER BEWARE! If I could give a 0 star rating to this company, I would. I have a sofa that is a little over a year old. It is upholstered with a slipcover that is dry clean only. The day after I picked up the slipcover, I received a call from Corry's informing me that one of the seat cushion covers was missing from what I picked up. Apparently, it had not arrived from their cleaning facility with the rest of the pieces. The next day I picked up the cushion cover and when I took it out of the plastic, I found a large area that was completely discolored. I returned to to Corry's the next day and was told that I had to complete and submit a claim form for the damage along with the damaged piece - this was on a Friday. I made a follow-up call to the owner the following Monday - I was never given the courtesy of a return call. Within 3 days days of submitting the claim form, I received a letter from the owner, Simon Bakker. The letter blames the discoloration on me. The letter reads, "Sometimes mysterious spots of color loss will appear on fabrics for no immediately apparent reason." The letter went on to explain that the fabric probably came into contact with some sort of oxidizing chemical, gave me a list of what household products the fabric may have come into contact with, and that the ". . . color loss is not visible until after the cleaning process". Furthermore, ". . . this type of color loss originates from accidental contact with these solutions during consumer use". To protect the fabric on my sofa, I typically cover it with a blanket when company isn't present. The discoloration occurred to the backside of the cushion cover which is hidden by a nearly 8 inch thick back cushion, again, typically covered by a blanket. It would have been impossible for this portion of the fabric to come into contact with any "solutions", covered or not. I find it suspicious that after picking up the slipcover, that this particular piece was not included in the order. I've been in contact with the furniture store and the manufacturer of the furniture and slipcover. I've been informed that it is probable that Corry's spilled something on the fabric causing this discoloration. At the end of the day, I am out of pocket for the cost of the cleaning and replacement of the slipcover. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! It was a complete tragedy of a service. I don't know how they stay in business unless it's mostly cleaning rugs. Gory details: I googled "green" dry cleaning. I should have gone to Blue Sky Cleaners. I went to Corry's because it was closer. BIG mistake. I emailed ahead of time to ask about rates. The email bounced so I emailed the other address provided on the website. When I went in, the cashier asked me if I wanted to know the total before committing to the price. I said that I only do dry cleaning once a year, so am OK with paying. I asked her why she asked (I had never been asked this before at a dry cleaner). She said that someone had yelled at her because the total was more than they thought it would be. I told her not to worry, and that I wouldn't yell at her. I asked her if the thread around a bead on a particular shirt could be tightened. She responded with an emphatic "No" and then asked me to sign a waiver releasing them of any damage. If I had been using my head, I would have turned and walked out of the place. I was so excited to get my clothes dry cleaned, that I just went ahead and signed it. After picking my clothes 3 days later, the results were actually almost funny they were so bad. I sent an email reply detailing what had happened on 12/21. As of 01/04, I have not received a response. If I had, I probably wouldn't write such a negative review, but they failed that test too. Here's the letter: Dear Ms. Rova, Thank you so much for the detailed response. I was in a rush to get my clothing dry cleaned, so I brought them in on the evening of 12/15. I picked them up on Friday, 12/18. I was extremely disappointed in the results. One particular shirt had some beading and you (or your associate) advised me that you would not be able to repair anything and that I should sign a waiver before getting my clothing cleaned. I would have preferred if I was simply told that this shirt was too delicate for the machines and it was better not to dry clean it at Corrys. When I arrived home and looked at my clothing, much to my disappointment, my clothes were not clean or pressed adequately, and one shirt was ruined. * Blue shirt with beads (Dry Clean Only): All beads are scuffed and shine is gone. One bead is completely missing. This shirt is going in the trash. * White blazer - had black lint all over the front of it. None of my items were black, so this was obviously from someone else's item. Either way, it wasn't clean. * Orange & white blazer- had wrinkles in the arms. * White coat - two small round stains were still visible - I was told these would be taken care of. * All items smelled like lighter fluid, which I assume is the cleaning solution, but I could have overlooked this if the items were cleaned correctly. The purple cardigan and black & white blouse were relatively unharmed. I paid around $80 and ended up having to throw away one shirt and wash the rest of the items at home. The woman, I think her name is Tina was very helpful and friendly. I brought in, in my opinion a very difficult item, to be cleaned, a brocade and silk with a kind of rushing (sp) duvet cover, and also seam repair. I also had pillow shams and a blazer. The items came in a day earlier than expected, which was the actual day I wanted the items, as I was having company. I was actually shocked at how good a job they did on my duvet cover, knowing it was difficult and hard to press. I used a coupon and I felt it was very reasonable. I am a very happy camper and will go there again. read more

I have been happily going to Corry's for several years, on the recommendation from my neighbor who is picky about his clothes. I've cleaned a cashmere bathrobe, down comforters, my grandmother's table linens etc, and never been disappointed. Those who complain about the price should look for the discount coupons in that blue mailer envelope or online - I use them every time - and be aware that they have a loyalty program which earns you money off as well. Nobody has ever been rude to me and most remember me by name or face. read more
