He took my sweater and told me it would be a week which seems to be the standard at these cleaners and alteration places. He handed me my ticket and off I went anticipating a fresh sweater. A week later that's what I got, a nicely cleaned and folded sweater in a protective bag. It ran about $15 which I agree with another reviewer is a tad high, but everything's going up these days it seems. I had originally gone to this place because of green dry cleaning and have been going here for the…read morepast couple years. They had done a fine job about a handful of times for cleaning other items (eg, Reformation dress and blouse, wool sweater) that I brought in for cleaning prior so that's why I give them 1 star. This most recent time I brought in 4 items (2 for repair and 2 for cleaning). They have let me down on multiple levels due to ruining 2 items, charging me for cleaning that I didn't ask for nor was informed of, and not having a way for these issues to be resolved in a timely or convenient way. Specific facts follow for these issues next. I have also included photos. First, they pilled all over an entire and brand new Reformation dress that I had only worn once and which was not pilled at all when brought in. The rep explained that pilling can happen in the dry clean process, depends on the brand and fabric composition, that they followed dry clean instructions, that they cannot fix the pilling, and did not have the ability to refund me. I had previously brought a different reformation dress in red of the same fabric composition (see pic), which had been cleaned and only showed very slight to no pilling, which suggests to me user error that warrants a refund (I would think they wouldn't refund me $225 for what I paid for the dress, but at the very least the cleaning fee that resulted in pilling the item entirely leaving it to look much much older and used). Second, I was informed that they had "rejected" to repair a zipper on a small pouch I brought in. The rep informed me that the seamstress may have declined to repair the pouch due to fabric issues. This is fine and possibly reasonable, but, they also returned the pouch damaged. Specifically, beyond the zipper not working, the seems are now detached and unraveling. I'm not sure why the seamstress didn't repair it back to the way it was in its original condition? Third, they repaired velcro on a Patagonia jacket, which I asked for. However, upon pick-up, I was charged $20 for cleaning it. I had not asked for this. They rep informed me that it is their policy "to clean all items for alterations due to COVID" and apologized for not having told me this when I dropped the items off; however, again she was not able to refund me for this mistake. Lastly, the rep told me that I could call back in the mornings to speak to the manager about refunds. I am traveling out of the country and have a work schedule that doesn't really allow for time flexibility for things like this. So, this additional step creates a burden on me as a customer. I hope that in the future that they can train reps to make reasonable decisions about when refunds are warranted and to be able to provide this to the customer without additional burden, inconvenience, and disappointment placed on the customer. Unfortunately, they have lost my trust and I will not be returning to this business. This saddens me because I had previously been very happy with the cleaning I had received up to this point and really do appreciate their using green practices. It's too bad it didn't work out but I don't want to support a business that charges me for things I didn't ask for, ruins my items, and can't give me refunds without my doing additional legwork at hours I'm not free even though they made mistakes.

I used my trusty Yelp app and looked at reviews for businesses located in both Seattle and Shoreline. I decided on Sunshine Cleaners in Seattle's Wedgwood neighborhood based on the solid reviews. It's helpful that they have an adjacent parking area since they are located near a very busy intersection and thoroughfare. I brought in both his wool peacoat and one of my dressy business jackets with intricate detailed threading. I was greeted promptly, items assessed, contact information collected, and a cost estimate stated as I was handed a claim ticket. I returned a few minutes after the stated date and time on the claim ticket a few days later. Note - I wasn't in a hurry and didn't need it expedited. Both items were ready on hangars and plastic covers as promised. The price was very reasonable, both items were undamaged and looked great! And bonus, without that distinct dry cleaning chemical smell I recall from items taken elsewhere years ago. Convenient, professional, prompt service experienced with my first visit!

One place I called said they wouldn't guarantee the stain removal from silk, and another place couldn't guarantee turning things around in time. When I talked to Sunshine, they said it was no problem and I could have it in 2 days when I needed it. I dropped it off, pointed out the stain, and left my name. I got a ticket and was told it'd be ready by 5pm on pickup day. Pick up was easy as well, the skirt looked great and it was pretty reasonable priced as well (i think around $8). The employees here are masked, so I masked up as well. Only thing is I didn't get back the hanger that I brought it in on (it was one of the clip ones since it was a skirt), but they gave it back on one of their own hangers as well as a plastic cover bag. So if you are attached to your hangers, I wouldn't bring them.

First off, the lady behind the desk scolds me to take better care of my clothes and goes on this whole tangent as my sports coat is a bit worn. After sitting through that, she tells me the clothes will be ready next Saturday, exactly a week later. I state how I leave for a wedding on Thursday so is there any way I can get them by then (every dry cleaner I have gone to was a 2-4 day turnaround). She then starts scolding me again about how I shouldn't drop stuff off on short notice and I need to be more responsible (again this is 5 days before I need them). She makes me pull up my flight and agrees to have them done 3 hours before my flight's departure time on Thursday, allowing me to pick them up and immediately head to the airport. I have no choice as the usual dry cleaner I use nearby is closed so I agree. I then get charged a rush job fee (for a 5 day turnaround) and my total comes out to about $75 dollars for a single collared shirt, pants, and sports coat. I pay it as I have no other choice and don't want to go somewhere not right next to my apartment. To add insult to injury, I picked my clothes up on Thursday at the scheduled time just for them to have a bit of a funky smell and for there to be a couple small yellow spots on my collared shirt from sweat that didn't get cleaned. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had. The customer service was horrible. I was taken advantage of and scammed due to my need. I cannot recommend more that anyone reading this goes anywhere else but here.
