I rarely need professional dry cleaning services. But after reinforcing the buttons on my college aged son's wool peacoat, I realized that it needed a major overhaul after sitting out on a chair for quite some time. I used my trusty Yelp app and looked at reviews for businesses located in both Seattle and Shoreline. I decided on Sunshine Cleaners in Seattle's Wedgwood neighborhood based on the solid reviews. It's helpful that they have an adjacent parking area since they are located near a very busy intersection and thoroughfare. I brought in both his wool peacoat and one of my dressy business jackets with intricate detailed threading. I was greeted promptly, items assessed, contact information collected, and a cost estimate stated as I was handed a claim ticket. I returned a few minutes after the stated date and time on the claim ticket a few days later. Note - I wasn't in a hurry and didn't need it expedited. Both items were ready on hangars and plastic covers as promised. The price was very reasonable, both items were undamaged and looked great! Great, friendly local gem. My go to for alterations done well and quickly. A bit pricey, but well worth it!

I needed to dryclean a food/oil stain out of a silk skirt, and after a bit of research on drycleaners in the area I went with Sunshine Cleaners. I'm so glad I did! One place I called said they wouldn't guarantee the stain removal from silk, and another place couldn't guarantee turning things around in time. When I talked to Sunshine, they said it was no problem and I could have it in 2 days when I needed it. I dropped it off, pointed out the stain, and left my name. I got a ticket and was told it'd be ready by 5pm on pickup day. Pick up was easy as well, the skirt looked great and it was pretty reasonable priced as well (i think around $8). The employees here are masked, so I masked up as well. Only thing is I didn't get back the hanger that I brought it in on (it was one of the clip ones since it was a skirt), but they gave it back on one of their own hangers as well as a plastic cover bag. So if you are attached to your hangers, I wouldn't bring them. read more

He said no problem, took the shirts and sent me on my way. Good, friendly customer service is needed in today's competitive economy. This place exudes that mindset. read more

I came in with two items for dry cleaning, and came back in a week for pick up. They made this so easy! I was in and out in five minutes during drop off and pick up. Sunshine Cleaners is a family run business, run by a couple who cares about not only what they are cleaning but also the community they are in. I brought in a large variety of different clothing, in a mix of materials for a dry cleaning. On drop of, they seemed very informed about what they were doing and listened to what I wanted. Upon pick up, everything was very well presented and organized. I was surprised at the cost too, as it was much lower than the dry cleaner I was using previously. The service was good. I want in to get my pants hemmed which would be ready by Friday, but when came to pick them up, it was not ready and will be charged a cleaning fee because they found a stain on my pants and was told to come on Monday. I came wednesday and the pants were nice and perfectly hemmed. I was told that they weren't able to get the stain out and was changed $30. Saw the stain and decided to see if I can remove it. I got out my 'Shotout advanced forming grease and oil stain remover spray' use my old tooth brush to gentle scrub. I did it a second time, but I drip my brush with warm water, scrub, and let it sit overnight. When I got up to do laundry, I spray it again and let it sit for a while before putting my clothes in the washer. And wow wouldn't you know I was able to get the stain out. I don't think I'll be going back ever again. Cuz for one, these were new pants that my mom bought for me on clearance and washed them before I took them to the dry cleaners. Now, I don't remember if there was a stain on my pants and maybe I didn't notice it. Anyway, I think I'll just do them myself, or find a place somewhere else that can do it for less and not charge me a cleaning fee. If there happens to be a stain. I was surprised, when they said my wool coat would be finished in a few days. When I picked up the coat, I was disappointed, the garment actually looked worse than when I brought it in. It even had lint and fuzz clinging to it, which was not there before. ...when I showed these to the man behind the counter, who said he was the owner, he was very displeased. They obviously don't use ironing cloths; the ironers pressed down so hard on the fabric the finish is worse than before. The lushness of the wool, gone. I only brought in the coat...which I had splurged on and saved up to buy.. because I wanted it dry cleaned to prevent moths from getting at it; I would have been better off just brushing it. Why is this cleaners so much cheaper than others in the neighborhood? In my opinion, it's because they rush things through. This isn't the first time I've had a problem here, but based on good views, I thought I"d try again. I would only use them for items you udon't really care about. I WOULD NOT BRING SOMETHING A CHERISH IN HERE TO BE CLEANED. read more

I have never loved a dry cleaner so much. The Sunshine crew is fantastic: they are efficient but careful with your clothes, incredibly friendly, and can handle any fabric or situation. Stuff that would normally carry an extra charge anywhere else is covered with a "don't worry about it" here. I trust them with expensive and one of a kind pieces and have never had an issue - and on top of everything else, the prices are very reasonable. The tailor they have on the team is so friendly, the prices were incredibly reasonable, and she was so fast and efficient. I also had them clean the wedding dress because I had gotten it used, and they removed some armpit stains that I thought for sure were permanent. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!! C These clothes are some of my favorite clothes I've ever owned. The jacket has Like off white colored arms that had somehow gotten super dirty. The sweater was dirty with normal stuff and the shorts were ripped about 6 inches. These folks did an outstanding job cleaning and fixing my stuff. I told myself I would of been happy w a 90% removal of the stains being it's dry clean only. They make my jacket look like I just bought it!! My first ever dry cleaning experience! & what did get to dry clean? My wedding dress, of course. I first got my super long veil & dress steamed for my wedding, which my friend took in for me. I didn't have a steamer...plus I didn't want to ruin my dress for the worst. I think total for both items were about $20-25. I came here for the first time two weeks later after my wedding with my dress & my husband's tux. I was afraid for the worst.. (Had some gross spilled, then stained puke? right in the front of the dress...& yep, I waited so long to get it cleaned, I don't know what I was thinking!). The owner gave me a estimated week to come back for pickup. Total for both items was about $90 including tax. (Tux about $15, dress can also depend on the complexity of it.) You also have the choice to have your dress be hanged or put into a cardboard box to preserve. The owner is a super cute, friendly lady & definitely will make sure your item(s) is well taken care of. The business itself is very much like any dry cleaners that you would see driving by. Small space filled with overflowing dry cleaned clothes. I came back a week later and she apologetically said that I would have to come back another week, since the stain was still visible, and that they were going to have it be cleaned for another cycle. (I admired that, since it showed appreciation & customer satisfaction - I wouldn't want to have them lie and tell me that the stain was permanent). Anyway, I came back a week later again, & all was good! They even pressed down the top of my dress which I had pinned down during the wedding, because of a off stitching error. (I wished I had caught that error earlier before my big day). Definitely will come back to get my winter coats/jackets cleaned & pants to alter! read more

A sweet couple, but poor service. I've used them for a while and often they do an adequate job, but too many times getting things wrong. ]They consistently try to schedule pick up for 4, 5 or a week later, when every other dry cleaner I've ever used offers to return clothing within a day or two; Twice I've been told my laundry would be ready on a certain day (3-4 days after drop off), then been told when I stopped by the morning of the day they told me the order would be ready... that what they REALLY meant was the evening of that day... both times it took about 5-7 minutes while they rummaged around in the back of their shop looking for my order, apparently before discovering that it hadn't been washed yet. Once this occurred and they claimed that it had been washed... but not pressed, so that I had to wait approximately 10 minutes while they found my clothing and pressed it. Another time same story - rummaging around in back for 5 minutes, a quick "It'll be ready in a moment" and my order - in this case a single pair of slacks - was returned, appearing to be UNwashed and poorly pressed (wrinkles in the creases of both the crotch and crease of the knees were evident - showing that it had been unwashed). Done. I'll use a dry cleaner that actually has my order ready on the actual day they tell me it will be ready, that actually washes my laundry and that can actually return clothing within a few days when needed. read more

This place is amazing. I took a cocktail dress that had been trashed after a recent wedding. It was white and had red wine spilled all over it. They prepared me that it would be a challenge to get out and likely wouldn't return to its original state, but when I came back three days later, there was no evidence of wine stain anywhere!
