You know that feeling when you REALLY want a place to work out. I recently visited Aloha to get a dress and suit cleaned because I live in the Eastlake neighborhood. When I handed over the dress, a woman, who I assume to be the owner, was very friendly and mentioned she could sew up a small ripped seam on the dress. Unfortunately when I went to pick up the dress, the fixed seam was very thick and did not match the other seams on the dress. I brought this to her attention and she offered to take the seam out. Again very nice. But in addition there were stains still present on the dress - I pointed it out to her and she said she would try to clean it again. When I went to pick up the dress the second time she had ruined the fabric with the holes from the removed sew job and the stains although fairly faint were still on the dress. I brought this to her attention and she said nothing. There was no offer of a refund or even an apology for the sewing or stains. I was super bummed because initially she was very friendly and I felt very awkward bringing to her attention that the dress still had a stain on it. I brought the dress to another shop and they were able to remove the stain. I really do hope others have more luck with this place. I will not be visiting again and recommend avoiding any sort of seam fix on delicate or fine fabric or paying for any tough stain removal. read more

Do not bring your business here! My husband brought a shirt to have some buttons sewed back on and was told on the receipt it would be ready on 6/27. On 6/30 we went to pick up the shirt and the lady said "it's not ready yet, come back tomorrow at noon". We came back 7/2 and she said "it wont be ready for a few more days. Pay now". She also was yelling at me to make matters even worse! It's a total first world problem, but to ask for payment for a service that was not completed but also well pass it's promised delivery date is unprofessional and crappy service. We still have not been able to pick up the shirt. P.S. Other items we have brought in prior to this were poorly cleaned. We should have known then this place is a joke. On my first trip in the woman at the counter was friendly and chatty. On my second trip she actually remembered me, which was pretty awesome since several months had passed. My clothes all turned out nicely and the price wasn't a shock. I also need a new alterations place and Kathleen M's review makes me think I'll give Aloha a shot for that as well. At one point I received a 10% off coupon. I was very excited until I saw that it was only good for a few days. Not useful for me but for someone who wears a uniform or has way more dry cleaning than I do. I'll be back. read more

I gave this place a try because i live in th area and wanted to try out all the local cleaners. They ruined an expensive shirt of mine and wanted to charge me for it. They altered another shirt of mine which fixed the initial problem but caused a new one, which they also charged me for. Overall, very rude and unprofessional. The girl was on the phone the entire time I was there. Even though I was polite about their mistakes, it was very apparent that she was irritated. It was as if she knew I wasn't going to be a returning customer so she stopped trying. read more

I've used Aloha a few times since it is literally a block away. Up to my last interaction with them I was fairly satisfied, as in nothing out of the norm. They don't provide detailed receipts and I suspect they were over charging for a shirt or two but I didn't really care since the service was good. My last visit was however very different. I had a three piece suit and 7 shirts cleaned. Upon pickup I reviewed the cream linen suit since I was to use it for a wedding the following weekend. I was glad that I went in a week early because they were not able to remove the stains from my pants. The women working assured me they could try again. She told me to take my 7 shirts, jacket, and vest then to pay when I returned to get the pants in three days. That night I checked my dress shirts when I got back. Three had been marked on drop off with small stains I treated when incurred, which should have come out fine. Only 1 of 3 had the stains removed. Of the two which still had stains one was particularly bad. I returned to the store with the stained shirt, clearly still pressed, to retrieve my pants and discuss the bill. The pants came out great, yay! I suspect they didn't really try before but whatever, wedding pants...check. I asked for a detailed bill to see what I had been charged for while explaining one shirt still had a stain on it. The girl informed me that sometimes stains don't come out. I stated that this stain was extremely small, light, and treated with a tide pen. I suggested it might have been dry cleaned instead of laundered as I had asked. I then notice the bill contained a charge for both dry-clean and laundry. I said the charge was fine and that I just wanted the stain removed. The girl became extra snotty retorting that this was common practice, then tried to flip her hair and walk out of the room. I asked what was common practice, she returned and replied that if they try to clean by dry cleaning and then laundering they charge for both, even if you specifically request one or the other. She then tried to grab the shirt from my hand and stated that they were going to charge my card again. She began to tell me that she specifically had tried to clean my shirt and it was impossible. I had choice words for her involving this review and left with my shirt. That night I ran it through my apt building washer and dryer and it came out fine, I just hate ironing it, but my gf did it for me. After that treatment, trust I will not return. I also suggest that anyone who use them ask for an itemized receipt when you pay, they up and over charge. The older lady has always been kind to me, I would imagine she is probably at least part owner, however recently I have interacted with two younger women with attitude, probably mid to late 20's, one being the aforementioned. I hate to write this update, but it needs to be done because of what has transpired with this business after more than 4 years of our loyal patronage and far more than $1,800 per year spent here on alterations and cleaning. I picked up a sweater I had recently purchased to find it stained with dry cleaning solution. I took it back in, assuming they would re-clean the sweater and solve the issue. Unfortunately this was not the case. I expressed my displeasure with the error, and I presented them with my receipt for the purchase, assuming (again) they would make it right by replacing my sweater or paying me for the purchase price. Unfortunately, this was not the case (again). Instead, they asked ME to have the boutique where I purchased the sweater call them (strange). Fortunately, I have a relationship with the boutique (Trina Turk Palm Springs - awesome place on all accounts), and the manager kindly and unnecessarily offered to replace my sweater despite the fact that they had zero fault in the situation. The dry cleaner then proceeded to text me (really weird, who does that?) about the issue. If I did not have a long-established relationship with the boutique, I'm sure I would be out an expensive sweater. This business shows no loyalty nor any desire to retain customers by making a simple error right on their side, rather than offloading the problem to an innocent third party. But that's fine. The sweater would have cost them $198 to replace, but since we'll never go back, instead they'll be out the $1,800+ per year in our business they could have retained. Prices seem a little high in comparison to other dry cleaners in Seattle (i.e., for a men's shirt and a woman's dress, it cost us $17!). I've used them twice for alterations (hem pants), and they've done a very good job. Customer service is friendly but not stellar. For example I didn't get a claim ticket for the clothes I dropped off, and never got a phone call saying it was ready (there was no specific pick up date). But they got the job done.
