Nice, clean, cute little place! My favorite part was the friendly staff which helped me figure out how things work. They have "regular" sized washers and big washers. I usually use the big washers which fit 2-3 times the amount I can fit in my washer at home normally. Big washers are $8/load. All dryers seem to be big, as big as the big washers and usually cost me about $4 to dry. Best part is everything washes and drys relatively quick. About 32mins for wash and 32mins for dry. I'm usually out of there a little over an hour. They have small detergents available for purchase as well. There's a soda machine onsite, FREE WIFI, and appears to be some games and books for children to play with too. PRO TIP: the machines take dollar coins and quarters. They have a machine that you can insert cash into which dispenses dollar coins for you. If you don't have cash, there is an ATM onsite which there is a $2.50 fee to use. read more

We're here in Seattle on vacation & needed to do some laundry. Lunar Laundry worked out really well! Very clean place, nice neighborhood, felt very safe doing our laundry at 8:00-9:00ish at night. Needed to do laundry and staying in downtown Seattle there wasn't much options. Chose this place since the place opened earlier and needed to do my clothes for the family while they slept. Got here about 7am. Parking in the back, street parking and across lot parking. Wheeled my clothes in was a bit overwhelmed but another person gave me some suggestions there. Paid about 1.50 or 1.75 for detergent per load through the vending machine. There is a change machine that spits out dollar coins and quarters. Did two loads of laundry in 21 minutes (I think 3.50 per load) Took my clothes to a large dryer and paid 2 bucks to dry my clothes for 35 minutes. Got my clothes out folded everything and was out in a hr and 15min. Very happy felt safe here. Lots of folks came by later and started to wash their blankets and clothes. I'd come again and use this place!!! read more

This place is a gem! Saved us twice on our month long visit to Seattle. It's very well maintained (I witnessed the person in charge cleaning filters and vacuuming) and it's easy to use. We set up an account online and then found a wonderful market next door to get snacks while we waited. There was a clean bathroom and plenty of parking across the street in the lot. I've been coming here for years, and the staff used to be friendly and helpful. Today I was ready to leave with an armload of 2 batches of clean laundry. The attendant was oblivious and cut in front of me to vacuum the entry ramp. I thought it would go quickly, so waited for her to finish. Seems like the vacuum wasn't working that well, because she had to go over the carpet multiple times and it was taking a while. She was backing down and not really paying attention to who might be waiting, but I did wait until she got to the bottom of the ramp and I had an opportunity to get around her. I then noticed she was talking - on a personal call. I said 'excuse me' since she still had her back to me. She got huffy and said "Jeez, can't you wait?!" I told her I did wait, I had been waiting... This employee has been curt in the past and is often on the personal calls instead of engaging with customer issues. I'm sure she's probably pleasant and attentive if the owners are on site. While I'm here, I agree with other reviewers that the coins are a hassle, how about something like Apple Pay for an upgrade? Also, check washers before use - some of them reek. read more

I kind of hate writing this review... I don't want this place to get busier than it is, obviously for selfish reasons. BUT that doesn't help business owners, does it? So, here we go! Arriving after 10am on a Sunday, I truly thought it would be too busy. As we turned around the corner to get to the parking lot, it did LOOK as though my worries were spot on - but upon stepping inside to check availability, there were more than a dozen washers available, and at least 10 dryers available. AND it was spotlessly clean! Park, bring in 6 loads of laundry, and wash + dry all 6 for under 20 bucks! Ok, I'm not including the detergent and softeners that I purchased, but that's because they're not required; I forgot mine at home. That being said, they sell cups of liquid detergents that they have in "bulk" for much less than buying a bag from the coin machines. Oh, speaking of coins - you know that "coin shortage," the country is dealing with? Have you had to run around, hunting quarters from businesses or banks that would give you any? WORRY NOT, FELLOW LAUNDROMAT GOER! They use the PayRange app, and each washer/dryer is easily matched with not only the numbers on the app, but convenient stickers that coordinate with images on the app. Super easy to keep track of paying for the right machine! AND THE MACHINES! There are more medium or large machines than there are small ones. For people with small loads that they can't combine, this may take a little longer to complete wash. Luckily I combined 4 of my loads (which were larger to begin with) into the giant washer. It can accommodate 6 loads!!! And the dryers hold as much, too. This saved me so much money. I will say that it is WARM and muggy inside. The doors are open, the fans are going, but with all of these machines you can't expect it to be any different. They're surrounded by a few little cafes, coffee shops, and a few restaurants. It would be easy to step out and grab some grub some place, but I chose to stay in the building because it was my first time there. The majority of people seem to do that, though - go out, grab coffee and sit outside, etc. I just recommend setting your own timers on your phone, as the app isn't entirely accurate on timing (it's not THEIR app, so this problem isn't on them). I used this app at my apartment building and it struggled with accuracy, too. So...uhhh... go do laundry here for sure. Clean, many options, cost effective, and time saving! And the attendant was a good sport with how sleepy/unorganized I was while buying my detergents and asking questions. read more

Wash is $4.25 for the lowest/cheapest run. Dryer is $1.00 per 10ish minites. I went mid-day Saturday and it was definitely busy but I was able to find 4 washers to use at once and even got to hold a jumbo dryer for all of the washes to finish and shove them into the one jumbo dryer without preventing someone from washing/drying. The attendant was definitely a chill stoner, or at least someone was smoking weed near him lmao, but he was helpful and kind and patient. I asked a dumb question and he responded so nicely. And I did see him sweeping up and organizing the room while he was working. Pretty good place so far! read more

Hi! I am the stranger who was using the machine in question that shook KG to their core- enough so that they would leave a 1 star review of this amazing laundromat and it's staff. Every single machine was full with dozens of people inside the building. My partner and I were waiting for a machine, and one had been stopped for a few minutes. The employee called out the machine number twice, went to get a basket, and with gloved hands removed their laundry and put it in to a clean basket. This happened to a few others that night and I have seen it happen since. We hopped on it and started our load. Kaitlin and their partner pulled up while we were starting our cycle and yelled at us immediately. "What the F**K?" I said you don't need to yell at me and the employee took the clothes out- which he is fully within his rights to do! They were so rude and grumbly while they put their clothes in the dryer, muttering and swearing about the employee being disgusting and unprofessional. Everyone in our corner of the laundromat was visibly annoyed and sympathetic with the employee. How embarrassing to act like that in public to a service worker. Yikes!!! It isn't fun to have your clothes taken out, but treating the people around you like trash isn't the solution. If you're that worried about your clothes being pristine and never touching anything you don't approve of, maybe you should invest in your own machines. The staff were super helpful. The prices are pretty good, especially if you buy detergent at the counter. (Also free dryer balls) I came in with 17 loads of laundry to be done, and even though the place was busy, using their app I was able to be in and out in 2.5 hours. It would have taken me a week at home. My only complaint is that it was really hot in there, but with all the machines running that is to be expected. read more

Similar comments as others - place was clean, friendly enough staff. Some patrons were a bit odd (my humble opinion). I didn't realize how expensive laundry mats have gotten (bring your dollar bills and debit cards if needed). There are two change machines and an ATM at this location. There are plenty of machines - patrons need to be better at closing the fxcking doors when their done with their laundry. What was key is parking and they have a small lot behind the building close to a side door for entry. read more

My partner and I have been going here for the past 3 years. We've been happy up until today. We were outside and as we walked up to the machine to get our laundry, strangers had started to put their laundry into the machine we were using. Seeing our clothes in a basket, we got very upset. I found out the employee had taken our clothes out to "keep the flow going", even though we've seen laundry sit for a while and have had to wait for a machine. I asked him about it since I wanted to make sure all of my clothes were there and he said yes and was about to put a tag on the cart. If I wanted a stranger to touch my undergarments, I would've done the drop off. We feel VERY violated and will probably find a different laundromat. read more

Very clean, very nice laundromat. Definitely worthy of the 5 star rating. Not a single broken machine, not a speck of dust on the floor. The bathroom was immaculate. There were ample soap choices, in addition to some behind the counter that were not in the machine that you could request. They even had free and clear soaps for people with allergies. This laundromat is so great!! My washer is broken and I'm unfortunately not getting my new one delivered for another week so I had to go to a laundromat ASAP !! When I used to live in Ballard and needed some heavy duty washing machines for my big blankets and comforters this was the place to go! I care around 9:30am on a Monday morning and there was about 3 other people doing their laundry as well which was great because there were PLENTY of machines available. This place has got everything from your stander washer to an XL washer that can hold about 2-3 loads of laundry in at once! I love the wall of dryers they have as well with them stacked so if you've got two loads at once you can conveniently use the same two together that way you're not all over the place with your clothes. The staff is fantastic, it's a very very clean place you can be sure your clothes are in good hands. I feel safe enough to leave my clothes going and get a coffee next door or down the street and come back! My favorite part is the quarter machine!! It takes $1-$20 I believe and you get quarters so no worrying about having to get a roll before you come! read more

I don't usually go outside my apartment to wash clothes, but since my new place in the city doesn't have a large machine to wash my comforter, I've gone here -- and I have to say, it's a wonderful laundromat! Plenty of washing machines from small, medium, and XL and plenty of dryers. There's a also a folding table for you to fold when you're finished. As an added bonus, they even have WiFi and chargers for you to do work or entertain yourself while you wait! IMPORTANT: Bring quarters. read more

How I love this laundromat! Not only is it insanely clean and even offers a little section where children can read books and play a puzzle and even has the cutest little picnic table next to the window so that you can geek out of your computer while you're washing clothes. The best part? Yes, it doesn't indeed clean clothes very well,...and it's gotten nicest stuff I've ever ever met anywhere! A big shout out to the nice gentleman behind the counter today who helped me when I didn't shut the door completely closed to the washer and it's spewed everywhere. He made it seem like it wasn't any big deal and helped clean it up and even watched my stuff when I had to jet off for 30 mins and get stitches removed nearby. Even the people there doing laundry struck up conversations between each other. One guy reminded me of Jerry Seinfeld, saying random very cute things like:" isn't a great that you can come to a place and just have your clothes, clean, and one shot and then it's done!". I love this place! it reminds me that every day is a gift. An opportunity to see the pure good and joy in people ...And I can't believe I'm saying this. Came here last night needing to wash a giant sleeping bag, and a lot a lot of clothes (since I neglected to do my laundry for 3 weeks...) anyways, this was a great spot and I was in and out in less than 2 hours! Parking: lot in back of store The store: it seems they have more big commercial front loaders than the smaller ones. I paid over $5 for the big wash, but I threw my sleeping bag into it and some other blankets. The smaller washes were all in use when I got there, but freed up quickly. They have a machine that spits out $1 coins, no quarters. The dryer is 6 min a quarter. Very clean spot and plenty of carts to wheel your laundry around. read more

I'm moving up to Seattle and I don't have a washer and dryer yet. The laundromat has plenty of washers and dryers, even industrial sized ones! The machines were clean and looked in good condition. I thought the place was very clean the two times that I went there early in the morning. They have change machines, dryer sheets, and I think laundry detergent. I brought my own detergent. The customers are polite, but they keep to themselves while they wait. There is a parking lot in the back, but the spaces are small and tight. I parked on the streets for easier access. I felt safe in the laundromat and around the neighborhood. If you need a clean place to do your laundry, I recommend going here! read more

I don't often use a laundromat, but I've had to do so a few times in the last couple of months. This place is clean. It feels "safe," not sketchy at all. My reluctance to rate it 5 stars is for two reasons. One, it is pricy. The larger machines can run over 10 dollars for a wash - there was a mishap at my home and I had to wash several blankets and a large duvet, and it was pretty expensive. Also, (user error on my part) I misunderstood the SIZE of the really large washers, and probably used something larger (and therefore more expensive) than I needed. I had tried to get the attendant to help me, but he was pretty busy that night. Secondly, They take dollar coins or use an app, and I couldn't get the app to function correctly, so I ended up having to get coins from them, and then they wouldn't cash those back to dollars when I had too many....so it meant I was trying to find places to spend dollar coins for a week or two afterwards! read more

Wow - just duplicating what everyone else has commented already. I have a very large and bulky bedspread that wouldn't fit in my home washer so, after reading others' reviews for this coined-laundry, I decided to try it out. It's really clean, very organized and I was able to use a "jumbo" washer and all the dryers are "jumbo" so it worked out perfectly. I wished I had brought more quarters though - next time, I'll know. Parking was not an issue; I sat outside and read and noticed that all the customers were relaxed and cordial. Some were reading their books and others were coming back in with coffee; everyone was wearing a mask and practicing social-distancing. read more

My first trip back in 10 years, thanks to a broken washing machine at home. They don't offer coins anymore, as far as I could tell. You have to use a QR code app to load up another app, "PayRange", that then requests to link to your PayPal, Venmo or other such account. As an old lady who gets easily frustrated with computer crap like this, and worries about security, my head almost exploded. But I did make it through, with a little colorful language (no children present), and then everything hummed along. Wash was around $5, I think. The app lets your phone know when it's done. My phone almost ran out of juice, which would have been a problem when I needed to start the dryers, but I could sit in my car while it charged. Bottom line: Don't bring coins, but make sure your phone is charged before making the trip. The attendant was ever-present and worked non-stop cleaning. He was very pleasant, helpful, and politely ignored my colorful commentary about loading apps with a near-dead phone. Still the same great service as 10 years ago. And my washer is still dead, so I'll be back, even though there are laundromats closer to my home. read more

If you don't know, now you know. BEST laundry facility around. We come from Capital Hill to do our laundry here because we love it so much. The machines and floors are very clean. Comes in handy if you're like me and drop items when transferring clothing! They have an ATM along with coin dispensers so you're covered. Did you forget detergent or dryer sheets? No worries, they have those too! The only thing that slightly puts me off is the parking. It's limited. And I mean maybe four cars in the lot. But there's plenty of street parking. read more

I had not used a laundromat for over 20 years until today when my washing machine broke down. I was dreading it, recalling broken dollar bill machines, fumbling for quarters, waiting interminably in dingy, crowded spaces. I'm now sitting in Lunar Laundry and all I can say is "WOW! Things have sure changed!!" First of all, the attendant was extremely helpful when I called prior to coming over here. The fact that someone even answered the phone gave me hope. I arrived to an immaculately clean and well-lit huge room with row after row of shiny washers and dryers, plenty of table space for folding, lots of movable carts, and enough seating for 20. As if that wasn't enough--the most amazing thing was that all the machines were SMART and controlled by an app on your phone. Maybe this is standard now but what a difference it made! The app called "PayRange" was a breeze to install and use and it keeps you informed about each machine's progress. As annoyed as I was at not being able to wash my clothes in my own house, I have to admit it was refreshing to get 3 loads done in a little over one hour as opposed to spending half a day running up and down to my basement.
