Went in to wash comforters, the machine said 5 dollars but the attendant charged me 15 dollars. Each load. When I asked him about it, he said that was the old price. Acted like he couldn't understand me when I asked him why does the machine say 5 dollars.. Parking was terrible. Overall experience was - 5. Won't ever come back.. this is the first time I have ever written a bad review.. read more

NEVER EVER go to this laundromat. The attendant, an old white man, was extremely rude and confrontational. We accidentally left an expensive shirt hanging to dry and returned for it, and instead of a simple interaction, he made a big issue out of it and was unnecessarily hostile. On top of that, the place is dirty, disorganized, and wildly overpriced. Three loads of laundry cost over $50, which is absurd given the condition of the facility. Save your money and your patience and go elsewhere. read more

This was a truly traumatizing experience. I have been here twice, once three years ago and again in 2025, and both times were unsettling. The first time I asked a simple question and the man working erupted in what seemed like an outburst unrelated to me. On my second visit, it was even worse. There were no instructions or guidance posted anywhere. The man who I believe is the owner just stared at me blankly, offering no help. Another customer, a kind man folding clothes, actually stepped in to explain things to me. The owner eventually motioned for me to load the washers, which were labeled $5.00 per load. I followed the signs, but once my machines were running, he suddenly demanded $30. At that point I was furious, it felt like false advertising and a complete lack of transparency. I ended up negotiating to pay $20 just to get out of there, leaving with half my laundry unfinished. This place has an early unsafe energy, it's unprofessional, and misleading. I absolutely do not recommend it and believe the business practices here should be reported. read more

here, trust me... Horrible experience, extremely rude dirty angry old man that smells bad runs the place, the machines never work, don't clean properly and worst of all I have come here at 7pm only to be turned away even though they close at 9! Worst laundromat ever!! read more

Queen Anne Laundry Room - Laundry Services Near Me - Seattle, Washington

DONT GO HERE ITS A SCAM It's a scam. Should be illegal, and fraudulent. They owner doesn't care and won't take responsibility. ITS A SCAM STAY FAR AWAY. 1. Big washing machine says it costs $5, and dryer costs .75 per cycle. They guy puts in his "special" card, that no one else can purchase or use, and it pays the machine. Then he charges 3 cycles on the dryer=$2.25 WHY AM I BEING CHARGED $14 FOR THAT???? the owner says "covid". And won't explain why I'm being scammed. 2. After explaining how that's a scam and should be illegal, he shurgs his shoulders and claims he's not the owner so he doesn't care. He says you can "leave a review wherever, just don't come back. He doesn't care because he's not the owner." IF YOU DONT CARE ABOUT THE BUSINESS, Shut this place down if you don't want to be responsible for it. He clearly sleeps there and has one employee. It's a scam. And a lazy one at that. It's dirty, terrible service, rude, and awful. Don't waste your time, money, or oxygen around this place or these people. read more

I can corroborate other reviews about this place being a scam. Machine said $1.75 for a wash load, so we put in our clothes and detergent. The employee came over and scanned his card to start the machine, then asked us to pay $6. When asked why the load was $6 instead of $1.75, he said, "Computer." The place is pretty dirty, the machines are mostly broken and the one we used appeared like it had never been cleaned, and the signage was very scattered and confusing. Luckily we were able to get our clothes out before using the dryer. Look elsewhere! read more

this place sucks. the old guy working there was extremely rude and kept pointing me to random machines that were broken. he tried to charge me $15 for one single wash and when i asked him which machine he just muttered some gibberish under his breath. i told him i am going to leave because of your service and he tried to say to be positive and put it into the world. he sucks and this place sucks, avoid it at all cost read more

Excellent very kind and helpful. Made it quick abs easy to do our laundry. I highly recommend

The sweet guy doing ALL the work is awesome. Their credit card machine wasn't working very well and so he accidentally charged me twice. So he had to get the owner to help. I can't even believe this guy would be a boss or even an owner.! I told him I was charged twice and would like a refund. He then called me paranoid and told me to fucking hold o read more

Dangerous Employee - Do Not Visit For Safety and Peace of Mind On our last visit to this laundromat, a minor misunderstanding led to an employee named Walt screaming at us until we left. Now, several months later, Walt is calling my partner (FROM THE COMPANY PHONE) and telling her things like "you remember me from the laundromat? I know you do," and then hanging up abruptly. Extremely unsettling phone call after an extremely unsettling visit to the laundromat. The owner has been nice when we've seen him, but that can't possibly make up for Walt's behavior. read more

We were in the middle of our road trip and our family of 4 needed some clean clothes. We showed up at cut-off time the man that worked there was so friendly and helped us get all our laundry done right away. read more

First, the Pros: The man who staffs the laundry is friendly and helpful. The hours of operation are convenient, as is the location. There are numerous washers and dryers to use. Now the Cons: The place is absolutely filthy. The chairs are soiled, stained and covered with easily removable debris. That seems rather ironic in a place to clean clothing and bed sheets. The flooring is incredibly stained and dirty carpet. Why anyone would use carpet in a laundry is questionable. If you drop off your laundry for later pick up, your bedding and clothing are dumped onto the carpet before being put into the washers. God only knows who or what walked across that carpet. The machines only accept electronic payment issued by the laundry. No cash, no credit card insert into the machines. I had no way to pay, so the staffer inserted his prepaid card into the machine to start it. The fee that showed on the washer was $2.75 yet cash payment to him was $5.00. Was that extra $2.25 a convenience fee, income tax evasion, or greed? My clothing came out clean, although I was surprised the wash cycle was a short 34 minutes. read more

Helpful staff on site, takes credit cards and there's a Starbucks across the street. Staff knew exact time wash would take and really helped us expedite getting our loads underway. read more

Staff there are very helpful. Clothes were done on time. Facilities are in a good condition. What else do you need for a laundry service?

Operation hrs reads 8-9. Was there 8:30 AM and doors were locked. No wonder rest of reviews were one star. Stay closed!

I checked the hours before I rented a car to bring a load of wet laundry up; my machine didn't drain or spin dry. Despite it being around 7:45, the doors were locked. There was a man inside who wouldn't open the door, said he was the only one there, and that 7:30pm was the drop-off cut-off. I wasn't planning to drop off my clothes, just rent a dryer. I asked if he worked there and he was sarcastic with me. "You're standing there and I'm in here and I'm working here" or something to that effect. Very disturbing. This was my first and last time to this laundromat, a neighborhood fixture for the 11 years I've lived nearby. read more

Convenient laundromat in the heart of Queen Anne. Needed to wash some extra-large items and tried out this place out thanks to Yelpers. Has a total of 75 washer/dryers, so availability is pretty much guaranteed. Friendly service. Caffe Ladro and Starbucks are both down the street, while you wait. Offers both self-service and laundry service options. read more

Not sure what happened to this place , but it is now disgusting. The facility itself is not clean with dirty floors and dirty machines. Was actually worried my clothing may come out dirtier than when they went in Attendant on site could not care less about surroundings And to top it off were 2 homeless people asleep on the chairs in the laundromat. Hopefully they clean this place up and take care of it , it used to be OK read more

My only complaint is that I wish they had they're own parking lot or a designated drop off spot. Otherwise it's a decent laundromat with friendly staff. read more

The folks at Queen Anne Laundry Room are spectacular. Everyone is very friendly. The store is very clean. They rescued me when my washer broke mid-load. Their wash and fold service is super convenient. Only thing I would change is a free parking lot because finding parking on top of QA can be a pain! read more

This definitely isn't for everyone, as the establishment is a little dilapidated and the service isn't always reliable. However, the two men I see most often working are always nice to me and the wash doesn't take long. I'm always patient when waiting for them to start my machine(s) and I think that goes a long way as a lot of people come in here acting a bit entitled. It's a laundromat, you'll see this kind of place a lot in a city like Seattle. I think it doesn't deserve the flak it's been getting in some of these reviews. While there are definitely nicer ones in the area, I will continue to go to this one. read more

I am appalled with this business because it's extremely dilapidated and the service was horrible. First of all, the gentleman working, Walt didn't allow us to use the coin operated machines or buy a laundry card. He insisted on using his own laundry card because "the owners don't want anyone to purchase laundry cards." We did one load of laundry, $2.75 and two dryer cycles, $0.75 each, but charged us $5 cash. He said that's "just how much it costs" when I told him the totals don't add up. Once our soiled clothes were in a washing machine, he came and opened it back up and started looking through our clothes and touching it!!!!! My partner told him to not touch it and just started the wash. The carpet and chairs are all stained and torn, so I'm surprised it's still open. The washing machine Walt told us to use had gum and a soaked sock from who knows when. The whole operation seems extremely sketchy and suspicious. He kept on murmuring to himself and saying that the owners live on Bainbridge Island and never check up on the business. DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY. Extremely disgusting and service is horrible. This business feels like it's a front for something. Totally abandoned, but still "open". read more

We are travelling, flying bright and early the next morning. We had already washed our clothes ourselves but needed a dryer to speed up the drying time so we could pack tonight. Well this place and repulsive man were no help. We arrived at 7:35, knowing they closed at 9pm thinking we had plenty of time for a quick 30mins spin dry. Well nope, the doors were locked, the old frail man had no humility or care and glared and snapped saying it's was too late and shut the door back on us. This business is the worst I have experienced in all my travels, I truly wonder what makes this grumpy man so glum. Stay away if you can. read more

I honestly love this place. I've come here three times now and it's the fastest, simplest, and most pleasant experience every time. Some might argue it's a little bit unconventional but it's part of the charm and convenience in my opinion. read more

In Seattle for 10 day mountaineering course and needed a mid-course laundry session. Came here and met two lovely Asian owners who helped me load a couple of machines with my dirty camping clothes. 30-min for wash, 30-min for dry. They collected money (cash only?! not sure) after the clothes went in the dryer. Detergent was available to purchase. Not sure about dryer sheets as I didn't ask. Area is quaint with lots of shops around to spend your time. Would gladly recommend. read more

I was actually disappointed due to the customer service. Yes, I readily admit to coming in last minute right before last wash. The attendant was on the phone when I was trying to figure out how to get money for the machine... I didn't want to be rude and interrupt him while he was talking... so I kept myself busy and waited. By the time he got off the phone, it had been "after" last wash by about 3-4 minutes, to which he said, "Did you read the sign on the door?" I was visiting from California and wearing my last set of clean clothes, so I just had a small load to run on the quickest cycle. I would have been out of there by closing time. Sadly, I had to cross a bridge into another part of town to do my laundry. That was probably my first/last experience with Queen Anne Laundry Room. read more

I've never known a laundry mat to be a place where I want to hang out with my friends at, so some of these reviews are not quite fair to the establishment. I have found QALR to be cheaper than my apartment's washers and dryers, and also more reliable. I have not had any issues at all with the washing or drying quality. Wash is $2.25-$2.50 depending on cycle and are 32 minutes. Drying is $.75 and takes 16 minutes. I usually put a ton of clothes in at once in the large dryers (10-12 towels or 3 jeans+ 8 tees+ leggings & tanks), and so it takes 2 cycles. I'm done in under 90 minutes, and have all of my laundry completed. Payment is on a card, which costs $3. There's also a 10% bonus if you put $50 on your card. Yes, the owners smoke outside. Sometimes when the door opens, the smell comes in. Oh well. Yes, the older guy who works nights isn't the best dressed, but I have heard him talk to customers and he is friendly. The chairs are old, but I am there for a whole 1 hour and 15 minutes- and there's wifi- so I can deal with it. The two Asian men who work there during the day (maybe the owner?) are very nice. I personally like to use the large dryers (there are small ones too, $.75 for 30 min), and he knows this now so if he is doing laundry for their drop off service, they save a couple open for me. Overall very convenient, and as a bonus, usually I can find parking out front as well too. read more

In and out passing thru for a quick vacation and needed to do a few items! Clean quick and friendly!

I went to wash my comforter here, the owner doesn't wear a mask and the machines are absolutely filthy. The spot where you put detergent has so much mold and buildup. I feel like I need to wash my clothes again elsewhere. read more

So, I've got this suitcase. It's a small suitcase that I picked up for less than $10 at a druggist's near my grandmother's old house over a decade ago when my beautiful brocade case with brass latchings and scalloped edges positively exploded in a fit of whimsy and wouldn't stay shut any longer. And me with a run-on sentence and a plane to catch! So my new suitcase, now my old suitcase, is small. This means that for holidays longer than a few days I have to pack strategically and, chances are, do a bit of laundry. The Queen Anne Laundry Room is unassuming, mellow and quiet enough; it has some odd pictures of surprised cats taped to the wall, a small television for the soaps in the suds, and they only take cards that you have to load up there. This is totally fine for someone like me who rarely has more than a dollar in change on them anyways, and they do offer a bulk purchase discount which sounds great if you're local. It's near a Noah's, a Starbucks and a Peet's, so you can snack as you launder. Sustain and destain! So why five stars? I did my laundry in the morning and came back right before closing when I realized I was missing a precious, precious sock. The kindly manager remembered both me and my sweetheart and checked the lost and found to no avail - but! A late night laundry room patron overheard my sartorial predicament! She had just returned from putting a load of her freshly dried duds in her car and thought she had seen an alien sock in amongst them! So thank you, late night laundry room patron, for listening, retrieving and returning my errant sock, so very necessary when one has a small, small suitcase and only one day to do laundry. I hope you have excellent laundry karma from now on! My sweetheart said that my faith in humanity was restored, so great was my glee. This is perhaps not an exaggeration. read more

First off the attendant on site looked like he is living on the street which did not make me feel welcome at all and does not fit in with the Queen Anne vibe. Now I am not one to judge so I went up to the gentlemen politely and asked how to get a card to do my laundry, to which he replied: "Didn't you see the sign?" The sign says no loads after 7:30 and it was 7:40. I understand why the policy is there and would have had no problem obliging but this guy was a jerk about it. Even another patron apologized for his lack of professionalism. Never going to this place again! read more

I have benn using this laundromat for years...recently though, it seems that it is in decline. Several machines are broken and for the price, it might be cheaper to use a drop off service. The attendants are usually friendly, however I witnessed the owner of the place yelling at a customer...this dramatic scene lasted for 5 minutes...it was the worst customer service that I have ever witnessed! Given that I work in a loud and sometimes dramatic environment, I prefer to spend my free time in places that are peaceful and not so negative. Unfortunately, I will be traveling to the U-District to do my laundry from now on. read more

Great service!! I work for a company downtown Seattle where we constantly use towels to where our washer and dryer can't keep up. I'm here once a week and couldn't be happier with the service I get. It's a short drive from the city (10 mins) I can drop off all these towels, go to the coffee shop and work for a couple hours, they call me when it's done, I pick it up and it's done! I definitely recommend coming here! read more

Since the only laundromat in Magnolia closed in early 2019, this is the only place to wash clothes in this part of town, ie. Queen Anne Hill. The 2 Asian guys who own the place don't speak English very well, and are hard to understand. So their conversations lack graciousness, but they are both very nice and they mean well. read more

I love everything about this laundry from it's "reasonably priced quick turn around drop off service" to the "attendant on duty will help you with all your laundry questions" personal attention. This establishment makes buying quarters obsolete! Really! They keep tally of your machine use and you pay by credit card - amazing. I parked a few blocks away and walked over to have a look-see. I was greeted warmly and enthusiastically. I mentioned that parking seemed to be a problem and I was given the heads-up. Spaces come open frequently, just lurk. That time, I went around the block twice before a spot opened (less than 10 minutes) and the second time, there was a spot available. I cleaned everything I owned (except leather and suede) in two visits, including dry-cleaning. I saved money as I was encouraged to use additional large capacity washers and dryers that are normally reserved for their commercial laundry. Of course, I asked before using Woolite(TM) home dry-cleaning products, but they had no reservations whatsoever. My coats, scarves and business wear came out beautiful and fresh. Bonus - the walls and windows are used as a public bulletin board for art, theatre, concert, etc. events. Venue posters and fliers were current. read more

Great little Laundromat, there's good parking right outside. Prices are reasonable, and the proprietor is really nice and helpful.

I love this place. The owner is super friendly and helpful. Lots of machines. I've always been able to do all of my laundry at one time and be done in an hour and a half with wash and dry. They let you just pay for everything together at the end which is really convenient. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area. read more

All laundry mats have that Outer Limits feel to them right? This place smells like a grumpy old chain smoking man, which is probably because that is exactly who runs the joint. Either way- this place is alright. It's clean and accessible, so whatever- gets the job done. Useful things to know before coming here: 1) The machines don't use quarters. You will need three singles to buy a card at the machine when you walk in located between the two front doors. From there- you can use singles, fives or tens to load up the card. Another thing is hold the card in the machine for a moment for the transaction to go through. I kept sliding it in and out like a debit card and the old man wouldn't let me in on this bit of information, i had to figure it out myself. 2)There is parking out front. 3)The machines lock once you close them so you can go across the street to grocery shop or whatever while your clothes run through their cycle, which is to say you won't have to worry about people rifling through and stealing your Hanes Her Ways. 4) There's a play ground equipped with a swing set around the corner which is much more fun than grocery shopping. read more
