NEVER EVER go to this laundromat. The attendant, an old white man, was extremely rude and confrontational. We accidentally left an expensive shirt hanging to dry and returned for it, and instead of a simple interaction, he made a big issue out of it and was unnecessarily hostile. On top of that, the place is dirty, disorganized, and wildly overpriced. Three loads of laundry cost over $50, which is absurd given the condition of the facility. This was a truly traumatizing experience. I have been here twice, once three years ago and again in 2025, and both times were unsettling. The first time I asked a simple question and the man working erupted in what seemed like an outburst unrelated to me. On my second visit, it was even worse. There were no instructions or guidance posted anywhere. The man who I believe is the owner just stared at me blankly, offering no help. Another customer, a kind man folding clothes, actually stepped in to explain things to me. The owner eventually motioned for me to load the washers, which were labeled $5.00 per load. I followed the signs, but once my machines were running, he suddenly demanded $30. At that point I was furious, it felt like false advertising and a complete lack of transparency. I ended up negotiating to pay $20 just to get out of there, leaving with half my laundry unfinished. This place has an early unsafe energy, it's unprofessional, and misleading. I can corroborate other reviews about this place being a scam. Machine said $1.75 for a wash load, so we put in our clothes and detergent. The employee came over and scanned his card to start the machine, then asked us to pay $6. When asked why the load was $6 instead of $1.75, he said, "Computer." The place is pretty dirty, the machines are mostly broken and the one we used appeared like it had never been cleaned, and the signage was very scattered and confusing. First, the Pros: The man who staffs the laundry is friendly and helpful. The hours of operation are convenient, as is the location. There are numerous washers and dryers to use. Now the Cons: The place is absolutely filthy. The chairs are soiled, stained and covered with easily removable debris. That seems rather ironic in a place to clean clothing and bed sheets. The flooring is incredibly stained and dirty carpet. Why anyone would use carpet in a laundry is questionable. If you drop off your laundry for later pick up, your bedding and clothing are dumped onto the carpet before being put into the washers. God only knows who or what walked across that carpet. The machines only accept electronic payment issued by the laundry. No cash, no credit card insert into the machines. I had no way to pay, so the staffer inserted his prepaid card into the machine to start it. The fee that showed on the washer was $2.75 yet cash payment to him was $5.00. Was that extra $2.25 a convenience fee, income tax evasion, or greed? My clothing came out clean, although I was surprised the wash cycle was a short 34 minutes. read more

I checked the hours before I rented a car to bring a load of wet laundry up; my machine didn't drain or spin dry. Despite it being around 7:45, the doors were locked. There was a man inside who wouldn't open the door, said he was the only one there, and that 7:30pm was the drop-off cut-off. I wasn't planning to drop off my clothes, just rent a dryer. I asked if he worked there and he was sarcastic with me. "You're standing there and I'm in here and I'm working here" or something to that effect. Very disturbing. This definitely isn't for everyone, as the establishment is a little dilapidated and the service isn't always reliable. However, the two men I see most often working are always nice to me and the wash doesn't take long. I'm always patient when waiting for them to start my machine(s) and I think that goes a long way as a lot of people come in here acting a bit entitled. It's a laundromat, you'll see this kind of place a lot in a city like Seattle. I think it doesn't deserve the flak it's been getting in some of these reviews. I am appalled with this business because it's extremely dilapidated and the service was horrible. First of all, the gentleman working, Walt didn't allow us to use the coin operated machines or buy a laundry card. He insisted on using his own laundry card because "the owners don't want anyone to purchase laundry cards." We did one load of laundry, $2.75 and two dryer cycles, $0.75 each, but charged us $5 cash. He said that's "just how much it costs" when I told him the totals don't add up. Once our soiled clothes were in a washing machine, he came and opened it back up and started looking through our clothes and touching it!!!!! My partner told him to not touch it and just started the wash. The carpet and chairs are all stained and torn, so I'm surprised it's still open. The washing machine Walt told us to use had gum and a soaked sock from who knows when. The whole operation seems extremely sketchy and suspicious. He kept on murmuring to himself and saying that the owners live on Bainbridge Island and never check up on the business. DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY. Extremely disgusting and service is horrible. We are travelling, flying bright and early the next morning. We had already washed our clothes ourselves but needed a dryer to speed up the drying time so we could pack tonight. Well this place and repulsive man were no help. We arrived at 7:35, knowing they closed at 9pm thinking we had plenty of time for a quick 30mins spin dry. In Seattle for 10 day mountaineering course and needed a mid-course laundry session. Came here and met two lovely Asian owners who helped me load a couple of machines with my dirty camping clothes. 30-min for wash, 30-min for dry. They collected money (cash only?! not sure) after the clothes went in the dryer. Detergent was available to purchase. Not sure about dryer sheets as I didn't ask. Area is quaint with lots of shops around to spend your time. Would gladly recommend. read more

I was actually disappointed due to the customer service. Yes, I readily admit to coming in last minute right before last wash. The attendant was on the phone when I was trying to figure out how to get money for the machine... I didn't want to be rude and interrupt him while he was talking... so I kept myself busy and waited. By the time he got off the phone, it had been "after" last wash by about 3-4 minutes, to which he said, "Did you read the sign on the door?" I was visiting from California and wearing my last set of clean clothes, so I just had a small load to run on the quickest cycle. I would have been out of there by closing time. I've never known a laundry mat to be a place where I want to hang out with my friends at, so some of these reviews are not quite fair to the establishment. I have found QALR to be cheaper than my apartment's washers and dryers, and also more reliable. I have not had any issues at all with the washing or drying quality. Wash is $2.25-$2.50 depending on cycle and are 32 minutes. Drying is $.75 and takes 16 minutes. I usually put a ton of clothes in at once in the large dryers (10-12 towels or 3 jeans+ 8 tees+ leggings & tanks), and so it takes 2 cycles. I'm done in under 90 minutes, and have all of my laundry completed. Payment is on a card, which costs $3. There's also a 10% bonus if you put $50 on your card. Yes, the owners smoke outside. Sometimes when the door opens, the smell comes in. Oh well. Yes, the older guy who works nights isn't the best dressed, but I have heard him talk to customers and he is friendly. The chairs are old, but I am there for a whole 1 hour and 15 minutes- and there's wifi- so I can deal with it. The two Asian men who work there during the day (maybe the owner?) are very nice. I personally like to use the large dryers (there are small ones too, $.75 for 30 min), and he knows this now so if he is doing laundry for their drop off service, they save a couple open for me. Overall very convenient, and as a bonus, usually I can find parking out front as well too. read more

So, I've got this suitcase. It's a small suitcase that I picked up for less than $10 at a druggist's near my grandmother's old house over a decade ago when my beautiful brocade case with brass latchings and scalloped edges positively exploded in a fit of whimsy and wouldn't stay shut any longer. And me with a run-on sentence and a plane to catch! So my new suitcase, now my old suitcase, is small. This means that for holidays longer than a few days I have to pack strategically and, chances are, do a bit of laundry. The Queen Anne Laundry Room is unassuming, mellow and quiet enough; it has some odd pictures of surprised cats taped to the wall, a small television for the soaps in the suds, and they only take cards that you have to load up there. This is totally fine for someone like me who rarely has more than a dollar in change on them anyways, and they do offer a bulk purchase discount which sounds great if you're local. It's near a Noah's, a Starbucks and a Peet's, so you can snack as you launder. Sustain and destain! So why five stars? I did my laundry in the morning and came back right before closing when I realized I was missing a precious, precious sock. The kindly manager remembered both me and my sweetheart and checked the lost and found to no avail - but! A late night laundry room patron overheard my sartorial predicament! She had just returned from putting a load of her freshly dried duds in her car and thought she had seen an alien sock in amongst them! So thank you, late night laundry room patron, for listening, retrieving and returning my errant sock, so very necessary when one has a small, small suitcase and only one day to do laundry. First off the attendant on site looked like he is living on the street which did not make me feel welcome at all and does not fit in with the Queen Anne vibe. Now I am not one to judge so I went up to the gentlemen politely and asked how to get a card to do my laundry, to which he replied: "Didn't you see the sign?" The sign says no loads after 7:30 and it was 7:40. I understand why the policy is there and would have had no problem obliging but this guy was a jerk about it. I have benn using this laundromat for years...recently though, it seems that it is in decline. Several machines are broken and for the price, it might be cheaper to use a drop off service. The attendants are usually friendly, however I witnessed the owner of the place yelling at a customer...this dramatic scene lasted for 5 minutes...it was the worst customer service that I have ever witnessed! Given that I work in a loud and sometimes dramatic environment, I prefer to spend my free time in places that are peaceful and not so negative. Since the only laundromat in Magnolia closed in early 2019, this is the only place to wash clothes in this part of town, ie. Queen Anne Hill. The 2 Asian guys who own the place don't speak English very well, and are hard to understand. So their conversations lack graciousness, but they are both very nice and they mean well. read more

Great service!! I work for a company downtown Seattle where we constantly use towels to where our washer and dryer can't keep up. I'm here once a week and couldn't be happier with the service I get. It's a short drive from the city (10 mins) I can drop off all these towels, go to the coffee shop and work for a couple hours, they call me when it's done, I pick it up and it's done! I love everything about this laundry from it's "reasonably priced quick turn around drop off service" to the "attendant on duty will help you with all your laundry questions" personal attention. This establishment makes buying quarters obsolete! Really! They keep tally of your machine use and you pay by credit card - amazing. I parked a few blocks away and walked over to have a look-see. I was greeted warmly and enthusiastically. I mentioned that parking seemed to be a problem and I was given the heads-up. Spaces come open frequently, just lurk. That time, I went around the block twice before a spot opened (less than 10 minutes) and the second time, there was a spot available. I cleaned everything I owned (except leather and suede) in two visits, including dry-cleaning. I saved money as I was encouraged to use additional large capacity washers and dryers that are normally reserved for their commercial laundry. Of course, I asked before using Woolite(TM) home dry-cleaning products, but they had no reservations whatsoever. My coats, scarves and business wear came out beautiful and fresh. Bonus - the walls and windows are used as a public bulletin board for art, theatre, concert, etc. events. Venue posters and fliers were current. read more
