My first trip back in 10 years, thanks to a broken washing machine at home. They don't offer coins anymore, as far as I could tell. You have to use a QR code app to load up another app, "PayRange", that then requests to link to your PayPal, Venmo or other such account. As an old lady who gets easily frustrated with computer crap like this, and worries about security, my head almost exploded. But I did make it through, with a little colorful language (no children present), and then everything hummed along. Wash was around $5, I think. The app lets your phone know when it's done. My phone almost ran out of juice, which would have been a problem when I needed to start the dryers, but I could sit in my car while it charged. Bottom line: Don't bring coins, but make sure your phone is charged before making the trip. The attendant was ever-present and worked non-stop cleaning. He was very pleasant, helpful, and politely ignored my colorful commentary about loading apps with a near-dead phone. Still the same great service as 10 years ago. And my washer is still dead, so I'll be back, even though there are laundromats closer to my home. read more

Great location and great service. As a busy college student, I don't always have time to do things like laundry as often as I should. The drop off service is great! Laundry was ready in 24 hours. I politely said no I don't, she said do you need one, I said yes please I'll take one. When she handed me the mask she continue to be snarky with me and thought she would give me a lesson on what we all experience this year with COVID. The attendant was professional, warm & friendly-helping me to navigate which machines, what temperature of dryer to use, and even offered the free use of tennis balls in the dryer if I wanted. I stopped by this laundry place after 1 weeks long traveling and it had everything I needed for a traveler. The place has several types of machines - small to extra large loads. I was able to wash and dry my clothes load under $5. Machines and the whole place were clean. Patrons were friendly too. read more

I don't live anywhere near this laundromat but I was near there for dental cleaning. It was the cleanest laundromat I've ever used! All of the machines that I saw were stainless steel and appeared new. All appeared to be in working order. One of the employees was wiping down the exterior and at least part of the interior of the machines not in use late morning. It appeared that it was a routine that was done throughout the day. I brought in a very big, heavy rug and was going to use the largest machine but the young lady told me to use the next size down. It was perfect! Their change machine accepted my $20 bill which meant I didn't have to go elsewhere but I suspect I could have gotten change from an employee as well. I didn't use a dryer. I brought the rug home to dry on a large rack in the sun. Even though it would be a significant drive, I would use this laundromat again and I highly recommend it. read more

Apartment dwellers - laundry is a bitch, right? I live in a 8-unit building with 1 washer and 1 dryer. And although I know that's not a lot of people, I do find myself fighting for laundry time. And on top of that, I have to "dry" my clothes at least 2-3 cycles before they dry (and that can get expensive when you wait until the last minute to wash everything...like I do). I recently found myself with an expectant house guest and NOTHING clean. No towels, no bedsheets, clothes, etc. OVERWHELMED, I looked for laundromats in the area that were open late. I found Lunar Laundry on Yelp, and I chose to go here not only for the proximity to my residence but also because they are open until 10 pm. FYI - Open until 10 pm, but the machines stop at 9:30 pm. The place was relatively empty considering it was a weekend, which was nice. There are super washers and dryers (which cost around $5-$6 per load) that take about 30 minutes and will hold up to 3 loads of laundry. I chose to go with the standard-size dryers, because those things usually have the industrial strength of Godzilla. Those cost a quarter for every 6 minutes. All in all, I spent about $30 total for around 6 loads of laundry. Although you do need quarters, there is a change machine for your dollars. And there is a liquor store within walking distance if you need to access an ATM. I was in and out within an hour or so. Not too shabby. There is also a laundry drop-off option. I didn't inquire as to the price, but it seems like it is probably the best (and cheapest) way to go if you have lots of laundry. Highlight of this place? PRIVATE PARKING LOT! *fist pump* read more

The stench frim frgrances left in may laundry necessitated another trip with bleach to get rid of the perfumes. Could you reserve one or two machines for fragrance free? You are not alone, but there are no places if you don't own a machine. The dryers are just as bad. read more

I'm here on a Tuesday morning, and it's not too crowded. Nice environment with free wifi. Bright, spacious. Nice attendant. Clean machines. Free wifi! They have a good website with all prices listed (~$2.75 per regular wash load; ~$1.25 for regular drier load). I brought my dog's bed to wash and put it in one of the large load washers. Wish I had known that if I had just dropped it off for them to wash, it only would have cost $10. Tips: -Free parking in the back or right out front -Come before 0900 for cheaper wash prices! -Make sure you look at the signs - and you know the difference between the super washers (4 loads, 6 loads, regular loads) and the super driers (4-loads and regular loads). Lunar Laundry for the win. In the times of covid, cleanliness and safety are paramount. It is super clean, and "mask required" signs are prominent. It's super quick to knock out a wash and dry. There are several small businesses nearby to check out while you wait, or just sit and enjoy one of the many seats provided, inside and out, for watching the world go by. I highly recommend the chocolate chip cookie from Mainstay Provisions. Lunar is busy, rightfully popular, and has great longer hours, which I really need. I don't use a laundromat often, but when we have too many loads to accomplish with the shared laundry machines in our apartment, we head to one. Unsatisfied with the option near our apartment, we drove from Capitol Hill to Lunar Laundry based on the reviews. We were not disappointed! On a late Saturday morning (11am) the place was buzzing but there were plenty of machines available. We used a six-load machine and were surprised it finished in about 20 minutes! There are a variety of washing machine sizes available. They also have extra large driers that got that big load dry in 32 minutes for $2. We saved time and money! The facility was clean (even the bathroom) and there was a friendly vibe. Five stars! I would make that trek again anytime. read more

Going down hill :( I've been going here for nearly five years and over the past year the laundry went from being folded really nicely in a timely fashion to a whole mess. Items were obviously well washed and items that needed it were hung up, now there's a large portion of clothes are so wrinkled I would need to rewash them or fully iron them and multiple garments have even been ruined. There were a couple times I wasn't notified that my laundry was even done in a normal timeframe; once because it had taken so long and later because they failed to let me know at all. I think what makes this worse is that while the service quality went way down the prices went up. Including the switch in detergent that made my skin itch. Sad. read more

Our washer broke and it was forever getting if fixed, it was a Laurel and Hardy show of missteps. Anyway, went to Lunar Laundry and I hadn't been in a laundry mat in so long I actually didn't know how to choose or use a machine. Charlotte (I think that is her name) helped me. Walked me right through it. The second time I was there there was another woman with her and now that I've seen the pictures of the owners, I think that was her. I just want to say, Charlotte works and acts exactly the same when you're there as when you're not. I know you know that but I want her to know that other people notice. She is kind and helpful and busy , moving laundry that has stopped in machines, helping people and if she doesn't have anything to do she is cleaning the place up (even though it's already clean). I drive from across town to use the large washers for cleaning my comforters, duvet and now pillows. Today I had the closest to perfect experience. The perfect experience would have been a shot-for-shot re-enactment of "Monkees Get Out More Dirt" but alas Davy Jones and Wally Cox are dead. I brought my four pillows, and instantly was greeted and told "Let me know if you have questions." "I have questions!" She brightened. Well she was bright to begin with, so she beamed. I learned how to get extra rinse performance in my pillows, was cautioned to use less detergent than advised by washing product directions, and received dryer advice too. The coin machines worked, and plenty of seats, including a kids area because it's expensive to put the kids in the front-load washers for rides. No television too, so the noise was only the steady hum of the dryers and inside-voice chatter from fellow launderers. I love laundromats because they get me out of the house. This one is great because it has a parking lot, proximity to coffee, working machines, and staff that don't hide or snarl when people come in to clean their washable clothing, towels, and bedding. read more

Lunar laundry is not like most laundromats. Most laundromats are full of suspicious people, smell like urine, have dirty machines and driers that over charge and leave your clothes soggy. Not Lunar. It is clean, the staff is super nice and helpful, and the machines work really well! They have supplies for you to purchase at discount behind the counter and quarter/dollar coin machines that actually function properly every time. There is an ATM if you need extra cash and books for kiddos and adults to read while you wait. I've never tried their drop-off service but I have seen them working on it. The attendant was actually wrapping a neat little bow around someone's perfectly folded underwear! How precious!! They really make going to the laundromat bearable. And they even have free WiFi! read more

My first time there, Robert was in charge. He was pleasant, most helpful, gave change, and helped me understand the machines. While I was waiting, I saw him folding other laundry as well as picking up trash to keep the store entrance clean and presentable. What could be a top notch laundromat is unfortunately marred by needless nickel & diming when it comes to making change for large bills. Apparently they'd rather make the $2.50 off the ATM fee than break a 50 or 100 into 10s or 20s for the change machines. Is it weird that I look forward to going to do my laundry? I love this place! I live in an apartment complex that has a terrible washing machine, so I make the trip to Lunar Laundry when I have the time. They have different sized washing machines which is great, I sometimes come with a LOT of laundry and I'm always impressed by how much I can fit into one washer- especially when I bring my king sized bedding and comforter. The $8 for the XL washing machine can come as a shock at first, but when you realize you can fit a whole closet worth of clothes in it you'll see why! The smaller sized washers are a lot cheaper, and I can still fit more clothes in them than the washer I have at my apartment. The staff members are always friendly and happy, they even saved me some money by telling me I should use a smaller washer when they saw me putting a smaller load of clothes into one of the bigger washers. So kind! There's always more than enough seating to choose from, weather you want to sit inside, or enjoy the benches outside on days with nice weather. They offer parking in the back, but if the lot is full its easy to find parking on the street. Thank you Lunar Laundry! read more

The dryer in my building has been broken for a couple of weeks, and when my husband came to visit me, he had a suitcase full of dirty laundry that he wanted to wash. We had hoped the dryer had been fixed (as did the landlord), but we found out the hard way that apparently our dryer was not, in fact, fixed, and might not be for a little while. Since we'd already done a load in the washer, it definitely needed to be dried, and I had another load that I wanted to do, so we had to look up a laundromat that would be near to where I'm staying for the next few months. The repairman and an assistant to my landlord had suggested this place when reimbursing us for the quarters that the dryer ate, so we decided to check it out. When we arrived, the location was clean, and it was surprisingly pretty quiet inside. After loading up the washer, we'd realized that we had forgotten detergent, and one of the regulars said that I could get a bit of detergent for about $.50 up at the counter, so I did that. The attendant on duty was super sweet and helped me get some detergent, and I went ahead and filled up the compartment on the machine. We left to grab lunch and bring it back to the laundromat. There was ample seating inside the laundromat, and we had enough time while our loads were washing and drying to sit and eat. The attendant on duty greeted regulars, and she also kept herself busy doing the laundry that others had brought in and keeping the place clean. All in all, a great experience. Growing up, I'd gone to many laundromats back in the state I grew up in, and not every one of them was as clean and well-maintained as this one was. There were also books and games for the kids of anyone that came in, which would be great for families that need to drop by and do some laundry. There was ample street parking, even on a Saturday around lunchtime, and the building has a small lot in the back if people aren't able to find a spot right out front. The prices were more than I'd pay here in my building, but it's honestly on par with what I used to pay back in Indiana, so I definitely can't complain. Plus, they have detergent for those of us scatterbrained enough to forget it at home. read more

It's a laundromat so what do you expect? It isn't the worst so that's good. It's incredibly expensive though! Two large loads of laundry washing and drying end up costing us like $30. The staff is okay. There's one gentleman who goes around and cleans up and took our change off the top of the washer. Not sure if he realized he stole someone's money or if he thought it was left behind. If you leave your soap there, they will take it and then resell it to other customers who have forgotten it. Smell the inside of the washer before you use it! Lots of homeless people wash their stuff here and it gets pretty stinky. read more
