Great coin laundry establishment, ran out of clean clothes for my kids during our vacation and was in dire need to wash their clothes, came to Lunar about 720 pm haven't used a coin laundry in 15 years or more was a bit hesitant but the male attendant came to me advised me of the prices, asked me my load size ( ) and pointed me in the right direction, he let me know buying from the counter would save me money for the detergent. 35 min later I had clean clothes ! I hate doing laundry. A lot. My own house has a quarter machine, but I prefer coming here to bust all my laundry out fast. The staff here is really friendly, machines are clean and quick. I guess it could be considered a little on the pricey end, but it's a good value for the large size and speed of the washers and dryers. The four load dryer is clutch. Plus free wifi, dollar and quarter machines, ATM, pay by pound pick up laundry... They make laundry a more pleasant experience. read more

Nicest laundromat I've been to. Machines are well maintained and clean which is the most important thing with a laundromat in my opinion. I've been to some dingy laundromats and always leave wondering if my clothes are really clean. The space is bright and welcoming, and the staff are always really nice and willing to help if you do have an issue. It is probably a little more expensive than most laundromats, but a couple the extra bucks is worth it to me to have a great environment. Plus free parking in the back. This was one of the very few laundry's I have been to were they were cleaning it as I was there (twice everday!). There are security camera's in each corner, a childrens play area, and wifi that actually works. The washes are $2.25 and a typical dry is $1.50 but it's worth it. Parking around back or in front of this family neighborhood shopping block. Pizza is next door, the bar is across the street and Ballards main drag is down the street for post laundry fun. read more

The good news: The Facility is wonderfully clean! New machines. Reasonable rates. Free wifi that actually works. Excellent neighborhood for hanging out and getting your laundry on. (Pizza. Coffee. Cocktails. Goodwill-in case you feel the need for even more dirty laundry to wash.) The bad news: The place is small. 14 washers. 14 dryers. Which doesn't sound too bad. Except that every time over the past 6-months in which I've tried to do laundry during the day, there has been a whole gang of pushy cholitas doing what appears to be all of the laundry for a local motel. The worst part is that the machine domination appears to be officially sanctioned by the owners. Since the lavanderas also appear to be the ones who clean-up and generally run the place. Shame. Such a nice place, with such nice owners, should be so unfriendly during the day. Best bet: try going on a Saturday night. If you've got nothing better to do. read more

The place is clean, well-lit, easy to access. There are lots of washing machines and plenty of dryers. If you need cash to convert to coins, there is an atm. There are also games and a little service counter, with an attendant. The place also has free wifi. Overall, a solid place to clean your cloths and other soiled items. read more

A+ This is an absolutely awesome laundromat mostly because it is CLEAN. I can't stress enough how much of an impression that made on me. The machines all appear to be quality, they have quarter and dollar coin dispensing machines, and there are plenty of washers and driers. I have been in to exactly three laundromats in my entire life (including Lunar Laundry today). Wasn't planning on going in, but my washer sh*t the bed (so to speak) halfway through my first load and I had no clean drawers for tomorrow so off I went. Planned ahead to use the drop off service so I was in and out right at 9:00AM. The nice lady at the window said they could probably get to my stuff today, which is great because, again, I had no clean drawers and in a few hours, I got a text that everything was done. I jammed back and she was right, everything was all folded up ready to go. I don't even fold my own stuff. Some of it makes it on hangers and the less fortunate articles go in the clean pile. Anyway, Lunar Laundry was bright, clean and busy, both in the morning on a Tuesday and when I went back later that afternoon. Also, they had a change machine and an ATM in case I was washing my own stuff though so that's handy, though on this trip I had to hurry home and do nothing while I waited. Hopefully I'll have a part for my ancient washer soon, but I did ask how much to drop off my queen sized comforter; about $22, so I'll be back for that shortly. read more

I have never seen a cleaner laundromat...and these lovely people are in the midst of a renovation/expansion (an excuse for a little mess, but there was NONE!) I usually only have to go out to wash a large comforter we have, but our dryer is broken and until the landlords fix it I will be going to Lunar for a week or so... Previous blanket washing trips have been to another laundromat, which I had no idea was as awful as it is until I visited Lunar (although I did get a hint about the Sri Chimnoy Shrine-O-Mat while watching the dirtiest wash and fold attendant on Earth fold some poor customers underwear on my last and final visit there--in between crawling under the counter to go to a machine, putting his hands all over the dirty floor each time and never once even thinking of hand soaps). But at Lunar, the machines work well, and absolutely everything is clean. Thanks Lunar! :) It is nice to have a place to go where I feel comfortable while waiting for the washers & dryers to do their lovely business. :) read more

Top notch spot with The Dray, pizza, and Goodwill all a few steps away. Lunar is always tidy and they have a behemoth machine that will do six - yes - 6 loads at once, saving you both time and money. Props to Heidi, the owner, who is über helpful and fun to chat with. The folks that frequent Lunar are pretty cool too, which helps make a dreadful chore not as daunting. read more

I'm one of those people that hold off on doing laundry until I literally have no underwear left. So like.... 3 weeks. Um, anyway. Lunar Laundry is awesome! Very clean (and always cleaning throughout the day), helpful (last time the attendant was like "oh, you can fit way more clothes in that washer!"), the owner walks around helping people out and saying hello. I wish I could remember her name, she's so nice. Anyway, I can do 6 loads of laundry in 1 hour, for 10 bucks. I use the jumbo washers and divide that between two big dryers. I never feel weird about leaving my clothes and going on a stroll while I'm waiting. I love the juice bar down the street, and finding thrift store finds at Goodwill is fun, too! They have games, puzzles, and books for kids- and wifi! Also, they just installed an ATM-huge plus! I really like Lunar Laundry and I will continue to spend Sunday mornings there until I get a house with a washer and dryer! If you can, try the drop-off service. It's like 1.25 per pound, but they wash it, dry it, fold it, and hang what needs to hang! I used to do it all the time but it for expensive. Definitely recommend this place!!! read more

All laundromats should aspire to be just like Lunar Laundry. I have a large sectional sofa with removable, washable cushion covers. There are 12 of them, and they are made of heavy and bulky upholstery fabric. The top-loading washers in my apartment building can only handle a couple of them at once, and even then, they don't work very well. A large front-loading washer works wonderfully, though, and Lunar Laundry has lots of them, including a couple of enormous ones which were actually more than I needed. All 12 of my cushion covers fit in one of the large "speed queen" washers with plenty of room left over for proper agitation, and the wash cycle took only 23 minutes. The dryers are huge, fast, and cheap. I spent less than $8 and I was in and out in less than an hour. The price was fair, especially considering that using my building laundry would have cost $20 or so and taken several hours. The staff lady was very friendly, and everything is clean and well-kept. The restroom was literally the cleanest I have seen. When I was a junior Marine I spent countless hours doing "field day" on Thursday nights trying to make my bathroom as clean as the one in Lunar Laundry. I only wish it was right next door to my apartment. I would do all of my laundry here all of the time. read more

Probably the cleanest laundromat I have ever been in! The woman who works here is so friendly and cheerful. She helped teach us how to use the machines since I am not an expert at laundromats. The patrons here are very respectful and clean up after themselves. They even have a/c in here. All the machines look very clean and are in good working order. The cleanest little laundromat in Seattle. I needed an extra large machine to wash my bed cover and didn't want to take my chances on the sketch pads in the U-district which lo' and behold lead me here. I actually found myself relaxed admits the swirling pounds of laundry with hardly an annoyed person in sight. It is a bit more spendy than I had anticipated. A small washer will run about $2.50 and goes up from there once you hit the larger washers. While you're waiting you can also pop into a local bar next door or hit the juice/smoothie bar down the street. read more

This place is great because it has great parking and is easy to gain access too. I didn't like the small washers for $2.50 a load. The dryers are much bigger so it was nice to put 3 loads in one dryer. I like that there are bars like The Dray nearby, so you don't have to watch your clothes in boredom. If you don't want to drink at The Dray, they have coffee and other non-alcoholic drinks. Overall, this place is great for laundry and very clean. read more

Been to this laundry mat twice while i was in Seattle. Very Clean, Prices are reasonable. Not sketchy at all, and they even offer free wifi. I noticed there was some places to the side of it you can check out while your doing your laundry. A Pub and pizza joint is what i remembered. They also even have free parking in the back. Great place to do small and large amounts of laundry. The dryers are huge. We've never had to wait for a machine, even on busy days. Rosa and the rest of the staff is always friendly and informative. The parking lot is limited, but ample street parking. And of course WiFi is available. read more

The place is always clean and tidy, It's never to crowded when we go on weekend evenings and they have good modern machines. Went there for the first time. Place is relatively clean, WiFi works well, and it's in a good location. Prices are a little expensive and they only have two very large washers, but there's ample dryers and smaller machines if you want those. This is the best laundromat experience I've had. It's clean, so friendly, the staff is attentive if needed, and very knowledgeable. It's so common for employees to be indifferent, and this was the opposite. This place had the best reviews in the area, so that's where I headed after a week of camping and a pit stop in Seattle. I had a good experience, and my only complaint probably wouldn't be valid most parts of the year, but it was about 90 degrees yesterday, and even with the a/c on, it was muggy inside. Otherwise, Pros: -Free wifi! -Pleasant staff -Good location (right beside a bar/pub and in walking distance of many other businesses) -Coin-operated -- none of that crazy card stuff -Private parking lot Cons: -The parking lot is a bit tight, but that's not too surprising. -There could be a little more wiggle room inside; when it's busy, it can feel a little cramped in there. -A/C not super effective on hot days Overall, a clean and welcoming environment to work or read in while waiting on your laundry. read more

I ended up here at 8:30pm the other night. Dog decided that our bed was the place to pee. Thank goodness this place allows you to wash late. 8:45pm is the last time you can start a load. Two king sized blankets fit in their larger washer and it was $8.25 took about 27 minutes to wash. Two of their high powered dryers took about 36 minutes and were $5.50 total. Blankets were clean and dry. I've used Queen Anne laundry in the past cause it's close to me, but their machines take forever. This place seems well kept and machines well maintained. Will come back to this one if I ever have a large laundry need. read more
