No matter what Costco's are always busy, somehow though this Costco seems easy for me to navigate though most of the time. Easy being down the street from my office so great to hit on the way home (usually always run into people from work hehehe). Great variety and the layout of the store is nice and open. I'm officially a Costco convert... though I avoided it for years for a very valid reason: I have zero self-control and tend to leave with things I never planned to buy. That said, I love that they have everything and the prices are genuinely reasonable. This location is my favorite because both the staff and the shoppers are noticeably friendlier--even during peak rush hour, which says a lot. My only real complaint is the organization. I'm terrible at finding things, and when everything seems to be next to everything else, it turns into a bit of a treasure hunt. Aloha all! Do I dare go to Costco without a shopping list? Well ..I did and walking from aisle to aisle I ended up impulse buying like so many others. There is just too many deals to pass up. From groceries to home goods and electronics, it's all here under one roof. The staff here are all so friendly and eager to help find whatever you're looking for. I came here today early and they employee at the door made me wait outside because I'm not an executive member. I understand he is only doing his job. I came early so I could find a spot to park close to the entrance. I finally found one. I use the ADA parking and all the ADA parking was full by the executive members by the time I arrived. Either get more ADA parking or let the older people in earlier who use the ADA parking. I don't think I should have to pay an executive card just to get a ADA parking spot. read more

Went here to pick up a prescription and decided to do some light shopping. Decided to use the self service checkout and the first item that I scanned was their package of croissant. The machine told me to remove the item after I scanned it which I did because maybe the weight was off? Anyways, scanned more items and of course I bought the 2 pastries that I needed help assistance with from the Costco worker. The female Middle Eastern Costco worker came up to assist and counted the items that I scanned and I told her that I scanned the croissant and it told me to remove the item. She grabs the package of croissant that I had in my shopping cart and placed it on the "weighing area" just to have her override the item again because she said "the croissant needs to be here". But does it really though because if she thinks that I'm trying to steal a package of croissant after I scanned it already she is tripping. This Costco is like going to Santa's Workshop in the North Pole. There is everything you can imagine here....Gas Station, Tire Center, Propane Tank fill station, Car Wash, plus all the normal stuff. So you could get a tire rotation, fill your propane tanks, wash your car, get gas, while eating a $1.50 hot dog with a fountain drink. The parking issues you might see at most Costcos are not an issue here. I might have to park a little further away but I never have any problems finding a spot down by the tire center. The downside is that this Costco is in the middle of nowhere. I feel like I'm driving forever to get here. That is actually the only downside. This Costco is pretty awesome. read more

Costco online screwed me this Black Friday season. On 11/27 I ordered a product from Costco online. The item was in stock and on sale. Found it weird though as they charged me then credited me back. I called to get order status on 12/3, a day before it was supposed to arrive, and the status said it was on track. On 12/4, I got an email that my order was cancelled as the item is no longer in stock. My problem is that I could have bought the product from various other retailers, all of which had some sort of sale. This is an apple product so quite expensive. Instead I missed out on all sale opportunities and Costco can do nothing for me. Bunch of BS. Next time I'll order from a more reputable company. read more

This Costco is generally slower than you average Costco and there is a reason why. The service is absolute garbage here. Me and my partner went to check out, cashier named Glenn scans my partners Costco card, after Glenn rings up our order I scan my credit card. This is how we have paid at Costco for the last 5 years with 0 problems, but Glenn took issue with this because I used my credit card instead of my partner. Glenn began to berate us. I saw two kids who were probably six and eight alone in their car playing with the steering wheel and gear shift, so I called Costco and this man asked me the make and the model, where the car was located, How old Old I thought the kids were, he asked me every question you could ask. After all that, he says to me, so what do you want me to do about it? What's the point of asking me all those questions if you had no intentions of sending security to go out and look, or even paging the owner of the car. He told me to call the cops. Little did he know I was already on hold with nonemergency, which they never ended up answering, I just stayed until the parents showed up. Then I ended my call to nonemergency that I was on for like 20 minutes. This guy was rude, insensitive. Nonemergency wasn't answering so I thought maybe the warehouse could do a small gesture as far as paging the parents or even sending security to make sure they were ok... my bad, I guess Costco doesn't care much. Possibly the best Costco in SD. It's the same size as all the other Costcos but because it's not in the center of a busy area, it's a little less busy. There's always parking and never a super long line. There's also multiple ways to enter and exit, you never get stuck waiting at an intersection. They do have a gas station but it's actually closer to the Home Depot so the gas line will not impact any traffic for actual parking. read more

This is the Poway Costco on Scripps Poway Parkway. This has one of the better food court set ups in my opinion. They have rolling garage door options when weather becomes an issue. Their hot dog game is on point, their pizza game lacks the combo pizza dreadfully. As for the interior, I think their produce section is lagging behind performance wise. I like this Costco - I have not have a problem here besides the one time where lines just went insane back in March 2020 as there was a panic over toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Costco wasn't the only one, it was plenty of other stores that also went through the same thing. Staff has always been very cheerful during my visits here, which is every week/every other week or so. Parking does not take too long to find, probably longer if you go during rush hour. Mandatory to wear a mask upon entering, and they sanitize the carts nearby the door. Lines go through pretty quickly and also they have plexiglass set up at the cashiers. read more

This has got to be the worst Costco tire center in the whole San Diego County. The mechanics were OK, but the clowns working the front desk/register were rude. This location is now appointments only. In order to set an appointment, you must have an order #. You've to order the tires in person and schedule an appointment on a different date to have the tire's installed even if the tires are IN STOCK! Whereas Carmel mountain and other locations, you can just show up or schedule an appointment and don't need an order#. I asked the front desk person why they're different from all the other Costcos. His responds was that Carmel mountain is UNIONIZED and the Poway location is not. So are they all being rude because they're not unionized? Well, that's not the customers problem. You've the right yo quit and go elsewhere. Don't take it out on the customers. read more

I love to see Costco get reviews. This is my second home, my favorite date night spot, and better yet? This location doesn't get too crowded like the misson valley location, hallelujah! Like every other Costco, they are pretty standard across the board. You have the gas station, the food court, the samples, and the long lines to check out. I don't know what it is, but we americans love to buy in bulk and i'm here for it! I probably hit up Costco twice a month for the essentials and then substitute other groceries at your local Vons store. Some tidbits about shopping here would be to go when they open, usually the elderly are already in line to get in, but you beat the rest of the community and the lines. Last time ever going to Costco. I will be canceling my credit card and executive membership that I've had for 20 years over my experience at this location so that should tell you a lot. This will be our second bad experience in a row at this location. The first time I let it go because I figured maybe I'm overthinking it but here we are again. Exact same incident. The employees at this location are racist and racially profiled my husband and I, not once, but twice. We both felt this way and were heartbroken after spending 500 of our hard earned money. It all started once we got in line to checkout, there was three people in front of us who all happened to be white. The cashier was extremely friendly and overly chatty with all of them. Once it was our turn he went into complete silence and almost had an attitude while checking us out. Never a hello, how are you? a goodbye, NOTHING! Instead he started talking to the bagger about their weekend plans and schedule. Handed us our receipt, again not saying a word. His name was Matty. As we are walking out the door to leave we saw two ladies who were checking receipts. We walked to one lady and a white lady walked to the other. The white lady's receipt was swiped with the highlighter while it was still in her hand and walked straight out. She was greeted and thanked for her business. Our lady decided to check item by item making sure everything was on the receipt. I'm talking we stood there for at least 3 minutes while she touched and moved everything. Even took some stuff out of the cart. Mind you like I stated earlier we spent 500!! So the receipt clearly matches how many items are in the cart. At this point I made a smart remark to my husband about how ridiculous she was acting and how she was making us feel. Instead of apologizing she just stared at us with a smirk on her face. Never said hello, never thanked us not one word. I didn't catch her name but she was standing on the left side of the door on 9/3/25 @1:55pm shoulder length hair, Burnett, older lady. I am never the one to play the racism card, this is actually my first time making a review about something like this. We honestly left so heartbroken and felt so un welcomed. I went to the Costco in Poway to get one of my tires repaired due to a nail being stuck in it. The front desk Costco employee Matt was very rude, and I could tell he does not like his job. He did not display the type of customer service I am used to for Costco employees. He was very short with our interaction and hard to understand as his tone of voice was a "I hate this job" tone of voice. I got to Costco around 1:30 p.m., and at around 4:30 p.m., they tell me, "Oh, we don't repair Continental tires." You mean to tell me I waited 3 hours just for you to tell me you don't repair Continental tires??? Wowwww. I waited 3 hours for nothing!! I went in for white rice bowls and a chicken and came out with the bowls, crackers, blueberries, and ahi poke. The chicken never had a chance. As others have mentioned, this is a Fabulous Costco location in Poway. First off: very spacious parking lot and gas station. Even on a Friday, it not crowded at all inside. Plenty of checkout aisles means shoppers can get in-and-out more quickly. Plus it's trippy (in a great way) to be able to comfortably browse and navigate the store without dodging other shopping carts. Also a pro tip - 4 passport pictures comes out to only $5. They handle everything at the photo center, from taking your picture against a professional white backdrop to printing. Fantastic service and deal. In total it takes fewer than five minutes. This location is a bit out of the way for me, but it definitely warrants 5 stars and I will be sure to stop by whenever I'm in the area! read more

This is a pretty great Costco all in all! I have shopped at & used almost all their services, from Costco Travel online to car stuff to optical to food court for the last 5 years. I have not had any issues with any staff & have had pleasant interactions! RETURNS Most recently I returned a brand new clothing item which had a hole in it. They took it back & I informed them of the defect. The associate was very polite & even thanked me for pointing it out so that they won't put it back out to sell. PRODUCTS/PRICING I'm sure I could max out the character limit for Yelp if I went on about all the products they sell here. I mean, you get the most bang out of your buck here, you just might have to buy 5 dozen eggs (see photo), 2 gallons of salsa, or 3 cartons of milk. Clearly, it can be difficult to get a good deal & finish everything before expiration if it's 2 of you or even harder, 1 of you. During certain times of the year, there is a special handbag showcase which I always enjoy! My favorite item they sold recently was a Barefoot Dreams cardigan dupe for $25 (see photo). It is by Max & Mia and called the Travel Cardigan. It's the softest cardigan ever & has been sold out in smaller sizes for weeks! SAMPLES I've usually encountered sampling sometime around 1 or 2pm on the weekends & there appears to be samples every couple steps. It is always a delight for me & I love running around eating everything! I mean, who doesnt? GAS I've found the shortest lines for gas are before 10 am daily or after 7pm daily. I love how there is an attendant there keeping people in line, helping move things along, & managing the craziness! TIRES Usually the tires I need are not in stock, but the staff are always willing to order them shipped to the store & are very knowledgeable. Never had a bad experience & my husband & I have used them on several occasions. CAR WASH I still prefer the car washes at standard gas stations because this track system still makes me feel uneasy for some reason.
