This Walgreens on Poway Rd is where I like to get my prescriptions and sometimes misc goods like deodorant, and ibuprofen. We usually use the drive through pharmacy, and did so on this occasion. Just make sure that you don't go to pick up on the pharmacy employees lunches. The lady was nice and communicative. We paid for our prescriptions and were on our way. Normally have a good experience at this pharmacy however there appears to be a new pharmacy employee, Omar, who could use a lesson in customer service. Cuts you off while speaking and just overall not very friendly. Bummer, as every other employee has been friendly. read more

This review is only for the staff (Yuri). I ordered prints online and the two larger images sizes 16x20 and 8x10 came out truncated. Yuri was very patient and kind with helping me get my photos reprinted so that the people in the pictures showed up properly. Despite a line forming with people trying to pay and check out, Yuri made me feel calm and attended to. I Appreciate how fast they can print here and the level of service provided. Wish I can give this pharmacy a zero. I begged them to get my prescription prioritize as I had to come back 3x and was already in severe pain. No mercy instead what I got was the pharmacy did everything to delay my prescription. There's no such thing as customer service and if you complain you're a Karen-- waited for almost an hour for something that can be done for 15 minutes. Service here can be hit or miss but my recent experiences in the photo area were very helpful. I ordered a large 11x14 canvas and the staff, Melanie was very kind and helpful. She even offered to show me the image before printing to ensure I liked it.. Upon submitting my image, another staff member, Aaron was working on it and went to find me in the store to show me the image before finishing the canvas. Which I SO appreciated his level of customer service, he did not have to do that but he did. So I am making this review for Melanie and Aaron who were very kind and helpful to me and I truly appreciate their customer service. Thank you both! I went in to print a photo and the person with the long black hair seemed to be allergic to customer service. I would ask a question and they would answer and then walk from the photo area over to the main counter. Then when I followed to ask another question they would answer and walk back to the photo area. Seemed very annoyed that they would have to help someone out with anything. read more

Pharmacy Review. I am disappointed in both service and price. The counter staff insisted the script hadn't arrived despite evidence it had. This individual was generally curt and unhelpful. And, the quoted price was $104! I asked the Dr. to reroute to RiteAid where a cheerful staff had discounted the prescription to $12.20 without my asking. There was the brawl in the parking lot of Walgreens just two days prior. I have happily and safely moved to Carmel Mountain Rite Aid! read more

Two days ago, I asked my doctor to call my subscription to this pharmacy because I checked Good Rx app and they were offering a lower price. When I went to pick up the medication, the employee said no, we don't honor the coupon as you have to be a member of Good Rx to use it. When I said I used their coupon just last week, he said no, as of three months ago you cannot use the coupon and you have to be a member in order to get a discount. I needed the medicine and I paid for amount and left. I researched again and found out that he was not telling the truth and you still can use the Good Rx coupon without being a member. My husband and I had a terrible healthcare experience at Poway Walgreens. A few months ago, we made an appointment for a vaccine online (non-covid vaccine) but (despite having a scheduled appointment) we had a wait of over 2 hours. The lack of communication by the pharmacist and staff was frustrating for us and the other patients who were waiting, but the whole experience was worsened by the behavior of the condescending and rude pharmacist - in addition to being unprofessional, his behavior was unacceptable. As a prescriber, I caution my patients to go elsewhere for their pharmacy needs. I don't trust this pharmacy/pharmacist to give my patients the quality care they deserve. read more

Well here is an store compared to CVS Pharmacy and it is located on the corner of Poway Rd also It carries pretty much the same stuff as CVS Pharmacy such as prescriptions and your daily life needs !! Such as the essentials like Toilet Paper , Soap , Laundry Detergent, Bath Soap , Tooth Paste and even if your feeling hungry it carries Snacks such as Chips, Cookies, Candy and things for your Car !! It's not a bad place to pick up what ever you need !! Kind of slow at this location !! Plus it has collectibles here also so you might find that special toy you we're looking for !! It's weird that some place like this has it !! Plus here it carries lots of other stuff also !! It's your typical Walgreens but if you sign up for there Card which it will give you discounts on things in the store !! Who does not like discounts !! Well as for Parking not bad !! I wish I could give a higher rating to a community pharmacy. But this place has terrible customer service (limited eye contact, very brusque, long waits at counter). I am obligated to use this pharmacy under my Medicare advantage plan- otherwise I would never go back. Today there was an insurance discrepancy of sort (Walgreens rep said I have another primary insurance- but I don't)- and I am now reduced to tears over the treatment I got. The pharmacy reps were dismissive and unfriendly. Several of them asked if I had been helped- to which I said "no"-- then they kept walking. If you don't have to use this pharmacy- don't. Grand opening. I stopped by for the grand opening today. They had vendors on site and kids entertainment out front. My favorite thing was the Coke Zero tent, but more importantly the lovely Coke Zero girls were there handing out free product. The store itself seemed a little small on the inside. I've been going to CVS regularly so I had good idea of the inventory and prices for a comparison. It seemed as if Walgreens had more items on sale ( though maybe it was just a grand opening promotion). What really caught my attention was the pediatric sections. CVS is out of stock on a lot of items and the selection is poor. Walgreens had everything. They employees were also very friendly and helpful. - Beats out CVS - Boo hired union banner holders out front! read more

The staff here are great. Especially the Pharmacy where I've never waited longer than a few minutes for service. Great location. Easy parking and one of the few early providers of electric vehicle charging. Here is where it gets bad, really bad. I've watched on guy go into the store buy drinks and then yell at people at the top his lungs. Today he yelled at me, twice. Even came back to where I was getting a flu shot to yell in my face. The pharmacy is very slow, the wait time for someone to pick up a phone is very long, many minutes. The pharmacy staff are always in bad mood and they pick up the phone and hang up right away. They treat people without courtesy at all. I told a pharmacy technician I will take my business elsewhere and her response was go ahead and take it. Filling a prescription takes a long time and they are never apologetic, more like this is how life is, you don't like take your business elsewhere Their store manager, Jack, is useless. When did the pharmacy turn to absolute s***? I'm waiting for the pharmacy to fill an overdue prescription that I called in this morning, which I was told would be ready half an hour ago. When I got here I was told I had to wait for my prescription to be filled a maximum of three days before it's up. I asked her to look up the day I last picked it up which was on the 18th, so I'm on day 31 of a 30 day prescription. I'm wasting my time waiting on another one of their screwups. They've messed up and made me wait half an hour to an hour, or made me come back (which costs me $12 in gas round trip, plus my time) at least 90% of the time over the last 6 months. read more

This is regarding the pharmacy. I switched from Wall-Mart last month and was very pleased with the service. Yesterday, I go in wearing a face mask, and the hand sanitizer station had dirty fingerprints on it. Once at the pharmacy, a tech told me to verify my number on the keypad. "You want me to touch a keypad?" "Yeah." "Are you serious?" "Yeah, everyone's doin' it." "No way, man." I laughed in his 25 year old face and he entered my number in the computer himself. Why was this verification Procedure not refined in January? Why did the sanitizer station resemble a Bangkok public park restroom, and not IR touchless? Why was this new guy not wearing a mask and gloves like the other completely reliable and experienced staff there? Walgreens pharmacy is still a far better deal than Wall-Mart, but Wall-Mart did not make these sanitation mistakes, so a choice must be made. read more

Why does a corporation that makes thousands of dollars on a one month supply of 1 medication for just 1 patient not pay their employees enough to be able to properly staff their stores? It takes 20-30 minutes to answer the phone here every time. It's not the employees' fault, it's the corporation being greedy, not paying living wages, especially during a pandemic. Filled 2 prescriptions today. Got there when the pharmacy opened at 8 a.m. and had a very pleasant and friendly interaction with both Ashley and the pharmacist, Katrinne. Ashley first made sure the drugs were in stock before processing the prescriptions and told me how much the prescriptions would be before submitting them. It took just 15 minutes to fill them. I plan on returning in the future. Great customer experience! UPDATED from 5 stars to 4 stars: My husband dropped off a prescription and didn't see the sign that they were closed for lunch from 1:00-2:00 p.m. so he had to come back. He went back at 2:00 and they didn't return until 2:15 p.m. There were a number of angry customers. May want to consider going to a pharmacy that doesn't close during store hours. read more

By far this is the finest and most professional pharmaceutical staff I've encountered in my long life. They always take the time to answer any questions that I have and review they also review all my medications and explain the effects that I may experience. More importantly when I request a prescription refill if there are no refills left they contact my doctor for authorization. If my doctor does not respond they contact his office. They always go the extra mile! The front staff are equally great and are eager to assist customers finding products and explain everything. read more

I over heard a woman getting scammed for gift cards here. I was nervous but tried to intervene, then the grey haired man who works here confirmed with the lady she was being scammed and said here let me help, she handed him her cell phone and he authoritatively said, Poway sheriffs department! And the scammer hung up. He showed the woman how to block any further unwanted calls, and after some conversation she left. The employee explained it wasn't his first time helping a person with this situation. Amazing job keeping the vulnerable safe in out community!I wish there was more praise I could give to this man than just this review. read more

I began using this Walgreens primarily because the drive in makes it more convenient than having to go inside, given my mobility challenges. Admittedly, in the past I might have agreed with some of the older reviews that indicated they were too busy, they sometimes seemed overwhelmed and frustrated, and didn't always providequick, efficient customer service. However, for quite a long time now they have offered what I consider excellent customer service, efficiency, compassionate service, and lovely attitudes. They have necessarily called my insurance company to get authorization on multiple occasions, have interacted with my doctors, as necessary, have carefully explained things to me, and when in a pinch for a medication that was called in late, they have prioritized to help me get what I need. In my experience (and I am a frequent flier with this Walgreens), the current staff is dedicated and hard working, as well as skilled in negotiations with medical personnel and insurance company requirements. They are definitely busy! Yet they push on through the lines and hundreds of customers, doing their best, and doing a doggone good job of providing friendly, personalized, professional service. This pharmacy is horrible. My doctor called in my prescription at 5 pm . At 8:45 it was still not ready and rather than get it ready associate said they could not cause it was too close to closing and told me to go to 24 hr at El Cajon. Way to be helpful. Lost a customer here. read more

I generally shop there in the late evening. The staff is friendly and helpful. One day I was walking up and down the aisles trying to find a card for Hanukkah( nowhere else in town could I find one). One of the ladies asked what I was looking for. She was able to walk me right to the section. Was also buying a gift card and she was great to bounce some ideas off of her. Even when staff have been restocking shelves, they are really nice to direct you to what you are looking for. The staff have definitely improved over the last year and a half. I do not use photo or Pharmacy though. I used the pharmacy one time to ask a question about an over-the-counter medication. They seemed helpful and knowledgeable. read more

I used to love this Walgreens, very friendly staff and they always worked out insurance issues and otherwise. However, I received an automated call from Walgreens stating that one of my son's prescriptions had been recalled, and they needed me to call my local pharmacy. When I called, a woman answered who looked up my son's account and said there were no refills available for him. I repeated, No, this is about a medication recall, and asked for the pharmacist. They put me on a forever hold, and I can't reach anyone in the pharmacy. I must have angered her. I have now moved all of my prescriptions to CVS, as much as I am not a big fan of CVS, they've never done this to me. These people are so unprofessional. STAY AWAY. read more

Getting a prescription refill has been an absolute nightmare!!! Put on hold for extensive periods of time, left messages, no returned calls. Though staff is friendly, they seem to not know the procedures with communicating with physician office and/or insurance. No calls back to me if there's an issue- the issue/delay just sits there until I call in. And I have to do all the leg work in connecting the dots and resolving the matter.
