Main review is for the pharmacy. I went in for my vaccinations. I made an appointment online the night before I was able to get an appointment. The pharmacy staff was really nice. One staff member was there today she wasn't wearing scrubs or a white coat. But she was so friendly. Really great customer service. The tech that gave me shots was very nice as well. Hardly felt the shots. As for the store itself. The shelves were pretty bare and under stocked. read more

Very rude and incompetent people, after a long waiting line I finally reached the prescription pickup window I said that I had a question, the pharmacist asked me to move to the drop off window without listening after a15 minutes wait she answered my question who could have been done at the first place in 3 seconds I had to do the long waiting line again to finally pick up my prescription that it took them forever to find, another day they text me to call for giving them my insurance information but kept me on the waiting call for 30 minutes until I hang up and call again, when I said to not putting me on hold a very rude lady put me on hold anyway, so I hanged up and I'll have to call my doctor office to change pharmacy. That was the closest pharmacy to my home but I'm ready to go somewhere else unfortunately. read more

I had a bad experience at CVS and decided to transfer all my prescriptions over. The pharmacist on the phone was friendly and patient, and so was the cashier who helped me out. I could tell the store is popular with people in the neighborhood. The manager took time to greet people by name and chatted with them in a positive and uplifting way. Prices were not bad compared to Target (for example, Honest baby wipes were only $2 more expensive than Target for a big box) even if the store is a bit empty. I hope the store stays open! It is a convenient location. Lots of parking available. Good discount if you set up a Rite Aid account. read more

I have consistently had a horrible experience with the European male pharmacist at this location. He's not helpful and basically counts pills and slaps labels on bottles.. without following safety protocols (we watched him sneeze openly and continue working with medications and he doesn't wear a mask). When asked for advice about medications, he basically gets huffy and advises if you have problems call your doctor. I get it.. you wish you had made it through med school but didn't and ended up in pharm retail. But believe it or not your job is to advise on medications. There used to be a really kind Asian lady pharmacist but I haven't seen her lately. The techs are a hit or miss. Most do not care about your data privacy. I would rather go to Costco pharmacy across the street or even CVS down the street. Do not recommend this pharmacy at all. Overall the store is average at best. Clean but the employees could care less about customer service. read more

0 stars! DO NOT USE RITEAID! I was hung up on twice while trying to refill a prescription that they "could not find". The pharmacists are EXTREMELY RUDE and not helpful. First they lied about my prescription being there. I had to find the Rx box and give the lady the Rx number. Then she said "oh yeah, 1 refill". I said no there's 2. She started arguing with me and then hung up on me. I called back to try again. This time another nasty woman answered the phone and argued about the refills. Finally she found the Rx number and confirmed 2 refills. Then she got more angry and hung up the phone. I transferred my prescriptions to CVS. I don't need this, especially from a store going bankrupt, obviously due to horrific customer service. read more

Date of visit: November 19, 2021 There's CVS, there's Walgreens... and then there's Rite Aid. Although it's been around just as long as the other two drugstore chains have been (starting under the Thrifty name), it feels like Rite Aid seems to have barely any progress over time, and this location seems to show it as well. One would think that being in Carmel Mountain Valley, this particular Rite Aid would be clean and well-stocked. Well, at least it's clean... well-stocked is another story. I don't know if it's the result of the pandemic related supply chain issues, but not only were half the shelves bare, but a lot of merchandise seems to be out of date (par for the course at some of the other Rite Aid locations I've been to). Even worse, the ice cream counter (pretty much the only reason to go to Rite Aid) was out of order. Sure, you could buy a pint or two, but if you're in the mood for a single scoop, you're out of luck. The only reason I gave this location a two-star review is because they did have a sharps container in stock - the last one on the shelf, albeit a bit more than what I normally pay for - and the sales staff were somewhat friendly. I really hope the Rite Aid chain turns things around, as I don't want to see Thrifty Ice Cream go the way of the dinosaur. read more

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and they instantly knew who I was due to the phone call. Pharmacy Review: I transferred a prescription here because of price. Walgreens Poway had quoted me $104 for a tube of antifungal. When I arrived at Rite Aid, THE PHARMACIST HAD ALREADY APPLIED A DISCOUNT and charged me $12.20. Importantly, they didn't require the doctor to send the prescription twice (like Walgreens). And, the counter staff were very nice (unlike Walgreens). This is now my primary pharmacy. read more

Pre-COVID, we would visit this Rite Aid primarily for the Thrifty ice cream cones. Our doctor's office had sent a prescription to Costco Pharmacy up the street. When I went to pick it up, I was told that it was sold as an OTC item that they didn't carry. So ... drove over to Rite Aid. The store itself was relatively empty, except for the busy pharmacy department. After waiting for maybe three minutes, the clerk at the Drop Off window kindly directed me to the correct aisle to find the OTC equivalent of the Rx. I found brand name and Rite Aid brand items and opted for the store brand. There was one cashier but only one person ahead of me. I did want a Thrifty cone, but alas the counter seemed to be shut down ... a victim of the pandemic? read more

This is probably the most inefficient pharmacy I've ever been to. The two stars is because they have ice cream in the building which is handy when you're waiting over 90 minutes for a very simple RX. I speak from experience. In my past life I was an A-tech in the pharmacy world and have personally billed and processed many a script In my day. The wait is pretty unacceptable and they seem both understaffed and a bit frazzled. My particular issue is that I dropped off a prescription for my daughter and didn't have her insurance info handy. No worries I said, she needs it tonight so I'll pay cash and deal with it later. Great they said, it'll be half an hour. They signed me up for their texting system that is supposed to let you know when it's ready. I went home, fed my daughter dinner and cleaned the kitchen. I even had time to print out my updated card. I went back 45 minutes later and it was not ready yet. I said okay but let's rebill the insurance and was sent to another long line for drop off. Now in my previous experience, a tech at the pick up could quickly rebill and process payment - so this was my first sign of weirdness (well, second cause the wait was already too long). The second tech reprocessed insurance for me and then said it would be another 40 mins. WHAT? She said when they rebill it starts at the back of the line. Are you kidding me? I've never in my entire life had that happen, neither while working at pharmacies or in my personal life. I was kind but fail to understand the logic of this move. read more

Don't even deserved a star. Customer service was terrible. I walked in and there was this homeless man (he's around the center daily) who brought in his cart of personal belongings and was checking out. The cashier was upset cause water was dripping from his cart and another worker lady holding her mop with mean look. The man was apologetic saying thank you, thank you. No response from either cashier or mopping lady. On top of that a security was called, for what! Because of water on the floor?! If it was my cart leaking I'm sure they would have not called security, they would just mop the floor. As far as Im concerned he's a paying customer, he had a little mishap, clean it! Second time you cut me off in the first two words then the line was dead. Third time the next individual had an attitude till I snapped back. I don't know how certain people stay employed here. The lady with the cartoon caricature voice at the pharmacy, is always jumping to the wrong conclusions before I finish asking my question. She cuts me off in the middle of my sentences each time I go there. Sometimes I think she should be drug tested and it makes me realize why she doesn't have the authority to approve anything on the register. Her behavior is so iratic it makes me uncomfortable, even if she's not being rude on a particular day. Taking meds is a big responsibility, especially at work. They reconstituted my baby's medication incorrectly. Gave me 9 days of medication on a 10 day supply. So I ran out a day early because they didn't put enough liquid in the bottle of medicine. This means because of their miscalculation, I overdosed my 7 month old baby. Thank goodness he is okay. I'm scared to purchase prescriptions there again. This type of mistake could kill a person. I let my pediatrician know, but how do you ensure this doesn't continue to happen? How can I trust their calculations in the future. I'm so frustrated. read more

The cashiers here really just don't care. I've been in this neighborhood for 10 years and try to avoid coming here because of the attitudes but sometimes I'm right there so drop in. I just started frequenting RA as a friend pointed out that they have good ads. U'll need to sign up for a discount card. Afterward, just give the cashier ur # to get sale & coupon prices. U can really get sum great deals on beer & snacks, vitamins, etc if u watch their ads. The store is always busy, but kept clean. U can expect quite a wait tho for hand scooped ice cream. The ice cream is good & the price is reasonable. It would b nice if they had more clerks on duty for checkout. Still I'd rather come here than go to the competitors. read more

Good location for a Rite Aid, on the other end of the Ralphs shopping center. Parking can be scarce on this end around lunch time as there are a few eating places in that corner. I drop in here randomly for cosmetics sales and the occasional ice cream cone. Aisles are nice and organized and products appeared to be mostly in stock. I asked a lady about an item that wasn't on the shelf and she said it'd be in in about a week. The cashier lady was nice and checkout was quick and efficient. read more

They still have the fun square shaped ice cream scoops from back in the day; when they were called 'Thrifty' - they still call it Thrifty ice cream 2. The layout is easy to find what I need 3. They have these fun new ROLLER hand baskets 4. The people who work here are always nice 5. Sometimes their garden area has great deals! like I just got 20 lbs of potting soil for $2. PHARMACY- Customer service is seriously lacking tonite. Because another Rite Aid location did not have one of my husbands prescriptions only one was transferred to this location. When I asked the pharmacy tech or customer service person if they could call the other location to verify the prescription she only wanted to look in the computer to see if it was there while at the same time assuming my insurance wouldn't pay for it anyways. I called the other Rite Aid before leaving to find there was another prescription. This could have been an over and done with trip yet 40 minutes later I'm still here waiting. The kicker- she was right my insurance does not fully cover the medicine. So 60 tabs for about $40 with insurance or I was offered to buy over the counter with less count at 20 tabs for $20 40 minutes of wasted time when one phone call would have been too easy. read more

Such annoying experience. I have made at a minimum of 12 requests. All I ask was to transfer all my current refills from Mira Mesa rite aid into this rite aid in Carmel mountain. The new prescriptions I have already contacted my doctor to sent to this location. Somehow they are just unable to do so and had to make me call to transfer every time I have a refill. Well I did what they told me to. However every time I make that request they would make be call back and forth for 3 times ( half an hour min wasted ) also with an attitude to me too. This place is getting one star for just for its convenience. This Rite-Aid needs to hire new employees. First off, the guy working in the pharmacy is so so rude! In person and on the phone. The cashiers up front are always grouchy and won't even say a simple "hello" when you walk up. Terrible customer service. Now on to the important part. The pharmacy. I got a prescription for my son who needed antibiotics. After a few days of taking them, I noticed he wasn't getting better. I took him to Urgent care where they told me he was given the wrong dosage. His doctor gave the right one, but rite aid employees filled it wrong! I'm just so thankful that they gave a smaller dosage than a bigger one! How terrifying! Will never fill another prescription here again. read more

The only thing this place had going for it was a fine rotating collection of candy. Other than that, the store is old, outdated, and many of the employees appear to be miserable. Waiting in line sometimes felt like the equivalent of that scene in Gladiator where the guys are chained together and waiting for the gates to open for battle. I'd be standing there eyeballing which customers were going to which register and trying to determine if I'd get a pleasant employee or have to deal with Negative Nancy. At one point they also introduced some kind of rewards points program in addition to their usual rewards program? It was, like, another separate thing where you had to remember more numbers or some nonsense. I don't know. You could do better. read more

Not a fair vendor. Low-level customer service. And try to waste and scam you if you order online. I ordered an on-shelf product. It is was and is on the shelf when I got there to pick it up. Their shelf prices are 80 to 100% higher than Rite Aid's web prices. They took the order. But when I got there at their pick-up time, customer service was rude, not willing to check the order at all. They said they check when their display has an alert on order. A little while later my I saw an order cancel the email. The product at Walmart on the shelf is the same price as online same as their online. Rite Aid selling most of their medical products very expensive and try to cheat people online.
