This is kind of a different CVS experience. It's smaller and more condensed and a victim of its location. I was at Gaslamp and my friend needed some medication. I remembered a few locations here and the one near Petco parking. As soon as you walk in there is security right at the door. I thought more things would be under lock and key and I was surprised it wasn't. They may not offer everything a larger CVS does but it packs the essentials one might need. We did see a few isles very low in stock or nearly empty. Only employees we saw was the security and the cashiers. Again good for a quick run just don't expect much help if you're looking for something. read more

I extended my trip while in the area and hadn't anticipated this, nor did I pack enough of what I needed to get me through. What I mean by that is I ran out of allergy meds and knew that I was going to need them while in the area. I didn't want to wait until we made it to our final destination, I wanted to make sure I had it now. This location is set up so weird. I went to where I thought was going to hold my item. It wasn't, it was located at the end of an aisle. It was like they knew they weren't going to have enough space so they did exactly what they needed to do to make a full store fit in here. Finally found my item and went to find my friends before I went to pay and ended up finding a few snacks for the impending road trip we had ahead of us. Then we made our way to the register area. The register area was just as big of a mess as the rest of the store, but it somehow worked and flowed so much better than expected. Customers were in and out fairly quickly. Probably had something to do with a majority of them being self checkout, but whatever, the introvert in me liked that. read more

They didn't have what we were looking for, but service was polite and friendly. We were greeted as we walked in and were wished a nice day as we departed. The staff that works at this CVS are committing fraud by charging customers for bags that they don't want and don't get, when they pick up online orders. I'm not sure if this is a corporate CVS order to defraud their customers or if the staff are just incompetent or dishonest, but each time, the staff members assure me that no bag fee was charged, and my CC shows a bag fee charge. I have called the CVS 800 number multiple times to complain. Each call waste me at least 1/2 hour. I guess that's what CVS is counting on. Shame on you, CVS! read more

But Sylvia greeted me with such a kind, friendly attitude and the warmest smile -- she immediately made me feel comfortable. The pharmacist, Lena, was just as kind and really professional. I needed antibiotics, and when my insurance didn't cover them, they didn't miss a beat, they found a GoodRx discount and helped me save money without me even asking. I used my debit card here at one of their self checkout kiosk and my debit card had credit card fraud with transaction all evening. Luckily my bank locked my card but said it was most likely a card skimmer or something similar. Do not go here. I found online other stores of customers experiencing the same issue. read more

So I am here in San Diego for a conference, and wouldn't you know, I lost my voice. Of course...lol! With that being said, I stopped by CVS to get some cough drops, but all they had were the ginormous bags. Thankfully I don't need that many, but sadly I didn't buy any at all. Regardless of not being able to get what I needed, the customer service was great, and the store was clean and mostly well stocked. I say mostly well stocked because they didn't have any of the other item I was looking for...Diet Coke. Not sure how that happens, but oh well. Your basic neighborhood pharmacy. Was about a 2 block walk from the hotel where we were staying and had exactly what we were looking for.

What a nice CVS! Its large, clean and laid out well. My only negative is that their bathroom was out of soap. In todays world, public restrooms - where employees use as well, should have ample amounts of soap. If restrooms are checked and cleaned hourly, they would see the soap was low, it doesn't disappear completely in an hour. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I live close to CVS on J st. and 5th in San Diego, I went to pick up my medication this morning and they were closed. over one hour late the Manager never showed up for work, the back up Manager lives in Tijuana, so they would be over an hour and a half to cross the border. One of the employees out front was sitting on the ground in front of the door and smoking a cigarette. He said it happens all the time and the Manager will not answer her phone. This is unacceptable. I have a prescription to pick up. So the employee says I can go to the one on Market st. to pick it up. I drove there and they said because it is a controlled substance they will not fill it. They said my Doctor can call it in over to them and it will be filled, but it was not 8:20 and my Doctor is not in his office to call me a refill. So I ended up just going to work. I called customer service, they could not give a RATS ASS what happened. They just don't care about the customers. SELL THE STOCK if you have any. Worst Place to do business. The CEO is Karen S. I was buying Halloween candy when I overheard Daniel being awful to a young women who was trying to get a money gram. This was clearly her first time and she was visibly nervous. He was horrible to her to the point, it made me uncomfortable. If Daniel cannot be courteous and provide basic customer service, he should find a different job. Love cvs! Just not this one. We live downtown but rarely go to this one for many reasons. The last time I went there to get a nail file. They were locked up. So I left and bought the elsewhere. Tonight we were out having dinner and needed some alcohol to take home. Locked up. Waited in line. Finally got to the cashier and told her what I wanted. She TOLD me I can go to the liquor isle and someone will meet me there. So I TOLD her that if they were going to lock this stuff up that they should no what is where. I felt I didn't need to walk over to the isle to point out what I was asking for. It's not Bevmo. She didn't like the call out and ended the transaction. Done. Just like that. Very unhelpful staff. I asked if I can get cash back, and the cashier said yes of course, as long as I buy something. So I bought something small and inserted the credit card, but was never asked if I wanted cash back. When I asked again about cash back, the cashier shrugged and said the machine should have asked, but didn't offer any resolution. When I prodded again, she said I could use the ATM machine, which would have a $3 transaction fee. When I brought up the transaction fee, she said I could try again at the register, but I would need to purchase something again. No apology, no offering to figure out what happened. Horrible managers/ workers. Just came back today Dec 12 2020 2:23 pm. I came in walked around first because I like to do that at stores to see if anything is new inside. Then I saw these perfumes I've been wanting to buy and a makeup brush kit. When I was in the perfume isle the mexican guy who looked like he was in his 40s asked at first how I was doing and I said fine, I need a basket. Then he said it was up front and he was gonna give me one, and he said " let me hold the perfume for you " he didn't even ask and he also demanded to hold my BAG ! RUDE ASSS MOTHERFUCKER, thought I was stealing. I didn't say anything so I handed everything except my coach bag , and he gave me the basket. I only needed gift wraps and tape left but I also wanted to see what else I could buy, what pissed me tf off is that this mfer really just made me feel uncomfortable and accused me of stealing without saying I was. Wtf is the point of me having a basket if you're just gonna take my shit and hide it up front bc you're so afraid I'm gonna steal ??? Then when I got my tape and came up front I yelled at him and said don't ever do that again bc that was disrespectful, I'm not stealing anything. And he tried to play victim saying " I asked you if you wanted me to hold it you didn't have to" which is false asf, he wanted to hold my damn bag. Then proceeded to say I didn't need to be in there right now and I was like yeah stop talking to me i'm paying for my things. I signed up for a cvs card and the bitch up front who's also a mexican female asked for my ID to " verify " myself which I've seen my mom before sign up for a cvs card in another location and they never had to verify her... I've also bought something in that cvs before and they've SEEN ME, even the same black guy security guard so idk wtf your problem is !!
