This location specifically for the pharmacy has really gone down hill. I've always been to this location, for many years. Unfortunately after today's incident I will not be returning. The pharmacist refused to give me my son's inhaler, she was saying how his doctor is wrong on the dosage and she refused to let me take the inhaler that is prescribed to him. I tried talking to her about how he's wheezing and needs it and nothing. She just held the inhaler in her hand telling me also how she tried calling me and it's not her fault the call didn't go through. Keep in mind I sat right at the pharmacy area on those little uncomfortable red chairs for over 30mins waiting for this inhaler with my sick son. I asked her what time they close because I needed to return to work (I didn't want to continue to argue with her about giving me my son's medication) and she said "till 9pm" and I said ok I'll be back after work and she responded with "I'll be here when you get back" in a rude tone too. I've never had poor service before but I really don't want to deal with her again so I switched pharmacy's and received the inhaler later that day easily with no hassle. This lady was rude to me, and rude to the register lady who was just trying to get the line moving. read more

The service at this CVS is both incompetent and biased. My father tried to get a refill by showing his pill bottle (since he doesn't speak English), and the staff wouldn't even glance at it. I had to leave work to help him, and we were forced to wait in THREE different lines. The staff was intentionally difficult--ignoring the medication list I gave them and refusing to look at the bottles in my hand. After a long argument, the technician finally "discovered" the medicine was actually ready for pickup, but instead of helping us, she made us get in a third line. It felt like they were power-tripping because we didn't fit their image of "American." Unprofessional, lazy, and completely lacking in empathy. read more

My prescription cost 3 1/2 times more than the last time a few months ago. I called about returning it but they said no returns--they never told me that beforehand. I wasn't born with this knowledge. Normally Pharmacy is OK, but I had a prescription placed in early August. Never came in. Told it was on back order. I kept getting robo calls that it was still on special order. On September 6 I went in for a flu shot and asked about it. Still waiting they said. Toward the end of September I had a different prescription filled and asked about my still waiting prescription. At that point the pharmacist said I should have my provider order an alternative. Then on November 1 I received a statement from my insurance provider showing CVS had billed them $836.12 twice!! I contacted UnitedHealthcare and they contacted the pharmacy and found one of the charges had been cancelled. They said they now had the medication in stock and did I want it. My answer was "Hell No!" After 3 months since the original prescription was placed I no longer need it!! UnitedHealthcare got them to reverse the charge. What a mess. Great pharmacy service so far that sets them apart from everyone else. After nightmares with Walgreens (which are numerous and not worth mentioning here) I called this pharmacy and left a phone message requesting information/instructions for setting up prescriptions with them. Was I still in the system from years ago? NOTE: I did NOT want to transfer from Walgreens as they had screwed up my thyroid meds so badly. I wanted to restart fresh with CVS. A phone message. Didn't expect a return call till tomorrow, right? TEN MINUTES later I received a return call from the pharmacy. We spent another 10 making sure all the data was input correctly, and I can now ask my doctor to send requests to them. That's service! I'm sorry I forgot the individual's name. She was fabulous. If I could give zero stars I would. I was on the way to the airport and I needed to get a prescription. I went at 2 PM, when they were open. And they refused to give me my prescription that was ready for the past three days because the pharmacist was on their lunch break. Online it said the lunch break was from 130 to 2 and to come after. And I got there at 2 and the lady said I needed to wait 30 minutes. So unprofessional and I wasn't able to get my prescription and I had to wait, ended up being late to my flight. do better. read more

This store is a good suitable drug store to get basic items you need around the house and best to get your medicines, creams, vitamins, and over the counter drugs here. CVS has a huge selection of cold medications and over the counter drugs. There vitamin supplements section is enormous too. We have all our prescriptions going here and we pick up the medication with a friendly customer service staff. The pharmacy staff here is really nice and professional. Good 4 star rating for their pharmacy. Overall. The store gets a 3 star rating. At times, the stores coupons are very hard to redeem and the cashier scanner rarely picks up the code on the receipt to actually get your discount. You are often standing at the register with a line behind you, as the clerk repeatedly tries to scan in a $5 coupon you gave them. Therefore, we often tell the cashier to disregard it to move the line along even if we earned the discount. If you don't tell them you have a coupon before they start scanning items, the coupon can't be used. Most of their decent liquor is locked up in cases and hard to get to or purchase. Because there's only one clerk up front... probably while trying to redeem a coupon for 5 minutes, it's hard to get service help. Why buy grey goose here, when you can grab it n buy it within 1 min at Vons next door or other nearby stores? In summary, get a few over the counter medications here if you need them, use the great pharmacy, but disregard their coupons, the general store n liquor area... it simply doesn't work. We simply go to Vons or nearby stores immediately after going to CVS for prescriptions and medication. It's often cheaper and always quicker. read more

My regular pharmacy, Walmart didn't have it on shelf and the earliest they could have it was Monday evening. I called about 16 pharmacies who didn't answer my calls or were at lunch. I left numerous messages and only this pharmacy returned my call. They had the medicine, transferred my prescription to their own pharmacy and I could start using it on that afternoon. Recently was diagnosed with a severe infection on my toe. The Dr. sent a prescription to this CVS at Scripps POWAY road. I went in they didn't have it ready so I asked them to deliver it. They said ok. They told me it would be delivered either that day or early next A. M. Well here it is 2 days later & I still haven't received my prescription for my severely infected toe. And now they tell me that it won't be at my place till the 10th, because you know how they deliver medication? through the postal service. If I would have known that I NEVER would have asked to have necessary medication delivered. I got the run around from them. This is why I usually use local pharmacies!! This is appalling service. I understand the frustration that so many people are asking for surgical face-masks due to the recent outbreak of the coronavirus. But what I don't understand is why your cashier had such attitude and annoyance with a simple inquiry - ' do you have the face masks in stock'. Sorry CVS that I asked. And sorry that I called. Sorry that I drove in after your website said you have them in stock. It is ok that you don't have them in stock due to the high demand. It is ok and a good idea that you put a one box limit per customer. What I don't understand is why your cashier is so annoyed that people are asking for help. We are simply trying to find them and buy them one box at a time so we can ship them to our family back home. And if you are tired of talking to us, leave it on your voicemail or post a sign. It is ok. Just don't get annoyed. For those who don't like to help the sick or the ones in need, perhaps try and work at a different place. Always a good experience here thanks to the kind folks at this particular pharmacy! Due to some health issues, I frequent CVS more than I would like simply because I would rather take care of my ailments holistically. Unfortunately, that's not an option so every month, like clockwork, I stop by for my meds. The pharmacy techs are always friendly and courteous and answer any questions I may have. One tech even remembered me and asked when I would be teaching my next fitness class in Miramar, lol. It's nice when folks remember you and tidbits about your life...I never feel like just a number here. Cheers to good service and prescriptions that are ready when they are supposed to be! Most slow customer service ever. The people are nice when you speak with them directly, but man the whole store is slow. The pharmacy is rude and likes to cut me off when I'm in the middle of asking a question. A woman there talked to me like I was a child and it took everything in me to not snap. I live down the street (walking distance) and come here extremely often. In the last 3 years, they have really gone down hill. There's almost always a long line in the front every time I come, it doesn't matter if it's morning, noon, afternoon, or late at night. What annoys me is sometimes while I wait in line during a busy time, the workers in the front will complain to each other while they ring up customers! They will say things like, "Oh my God, I should be on my break, but I'm stuck here because so and so is taking forever to come back from her lunch". Another time I heard, "Ugh it's so busy, I was supposed to be off today!" Or one time, it was busy and only 2-3 people were ringing up customers in the front; then I saw a man walk by and see that it's busy and as he approaches to the front (I'm currently thinking he's going to open another register to help speed up the line) he just does something on the register, grabs some stuff and walked away! He was in a suit so I was guessing he was a manager or something? If it were me, even if I was on break or not clocked in, I would've helped for 5 minutes just to help clear the line. People have no sense of poise now a days. At least pretend you decently like your job, or save the negative remarks for the back/break room. I recently had a quick question regarding their photo printing machine and called around 7pm. I timed it, and it rang for 3.5 minutes straight. If ever there was a pharmacy to avoid, this is it. All CVS cares about is moving product and making money. They push refills constantly even when requested to stop sending reminders. Their staff frequently are individuals with a less than good command of English so they can be hard to understand and work with. They are typically rushed, overwhelmed and therefore the staff doesn't have the time to address concerns, answer questions and so forth. The store tends to be disorganized, shelves are not neat and the general environment is unappealing. If my insurance did not require that I use this pharmacy, I'd choose another one in about a nanosecond. read more

Now if your looking for a store similar to like Rite Aid then this fits the bill !! It carries lots of stuff such as Candy , Chips , Drinks such as Stuff like Energy Drinks , Soda , Tea Plus your everyday needs such as Toilet Paper , Toothpaste , Soap , Laundry Detergent Plus you can pick up lots of other things you might need here also . But when I shop here I notice it does not get to busy at this location. But if your just in a hurry and other stores are closed then this is your place . They do stay open really late . Also they open really early in the morning. So if your an early person and just want to pick something up really quick then why not CVS !! It's a one stop Quick Pick up Type of Store . The Parking is no problem here !! Big Parking Lot !! It is located next to Vons Grocery Store And just off of Scripps Poway Parkway Exit . Inside the same shopping center with Jack In The Box . Just like every other CVS this one is decent. Prices are A LOT higher than your typical target and Walmart. But combining coupons and rewards you can get a good deal with products here! I love coming here for the after holiday sales. You can get some awesome deals!! I'm talking up to 90% off on some pretty cool things. Whenever I come in here and shop, during check out, there is always a line.. It's surprising to me because I always see 4-5 people restocking the merchandise or roaming around the store -_- Wish they would have more employees trained for the cashiers.. Would be more helpful to make the line shorter and check out a lot faster. Customer service is ok depending who is working. The manager here is really nice. He always greets me when I walk in and he always tries to assist me when I need help. The only employee that bothers me is this one Asian lady.. She is so rude sometimes! Do not ever get your passport photos from here. They use a cheap, old point and shoot camera without a tripod. The grumpy lady who took the picture insisted that the picture was straight (it wasn't). She said it will straighten when they size it correctly and print it, and it is a bit straighter but not perfect. The picture quality is terrible, the photos look grainy and unprofessional. There is also a shadow effect, and the skin color is unnatural. On top of all this, the sizing of the face is too small. This is just unacceptable from someone who advertises that they specialize in passport photos. Save your $13.99 and head elsewhere. read more

Came here today to pick up some drinks for the house. The guy who was working was super helpful and friendly! Really like CVS for alcoholic beverages - prices are fair and the selection is broad. I know a lot of people like BevMo! but I feel like CVS is better pricing for a lot of the same things I like that are harder to find. $32 for a bottle of Glenlivet 12 and $22 for a bottle of Bulleit bourbon. Also has a machine for scratch off lotto tickets and lots of personal care items in the aisles. Definitely liked this CVS - will be back when I need to restock! read more

Came here to get a probiotic and a couple of other things. I was greeted right as I walked in. I grabbed what I needed and I went to checkout. There was only one register open, but there was only one person in front of me and she was real fast. I was checked out quickly and that was that. I do think if you're in a rush to pick up a couple items this CVS location is fast with that. I've also been to the pharmacy to get sudafed and the woman at the counter was very nice and helped me put the things in the bag I brought. I'm not sure how their pharmacy is overall so I'm not reviewing that portion! Otherwise I think this place is great! There's a huge parking lot so don't worry about finding a place to park. The Pharmacist there, I believe her name is Lisa (not the Pharmacy Manager) needs to take some customer service classes.. actually, let's make that patient care. I came in at 5:50PM to fill my subscription, knowing the pharmacy closes at 6PM. I waited in line and when Khang (at least he was trying to be helpful) asked what I needed help with, I said I needed my prescription filled. He was hesitant to take my slip as they were soon closing but did anyway. After he looked at my prescription he stated he wasn't sure if they can fill it as they're closing in 2 minutes and only the Pharmacist can. He handed her my prescription, she stated she cannot, they're closing. I stated I had been in the ER all day, I needed my prescription filled. She said, "If I fill your prescription, it's going to take me an hour. I'd literally close the pharmacy with you." I'm not sure what that last sentence was supposed to mean but it was definitely poor customer service, in fact, it wasn't service at all. I went to store Mira Mesa's CVS where they filled my prescription in 20 minutes, even with customers before me. The Tech noticed I was in pain and put a rush in for me. 1 hour to fill... should send them to Mira Mesa for training. read more

This review is only for the pharmacy! I came in yesterday after visiting an urgent care for TERRIBLE back pain. I could barely stand or walk. I knew if I didn't get them filled right then I wouldn't get them filled until the next day and I just couldn't do that. I gave them my script and hobbled over for painkillers and settled in for a bit of a wait. Still in so much pain I could barely open my eyes. Suddenly the voice of an angel announced my prescription was ready. A sweet lady let me cut the line and I picked it up. Honestly it was the fastest I had ever gotten a script filled but they could see my pain and wanted to help ASAP. Pharmacists don't have easy jobs, and I'm sure it's so stressful but the pharmacists here really do care about the people they see. Thank you ladies! The lady at the pharmacy must hate her job.. The last time I was there she was soo rude.. So I made it a point to be extra nice to her today.. I mean maybe the last time she was having a bad day.. Nope! I asked her nicely if I could use the last $11 on my FSA card on my $40 prescription.. She said with her RBF "you can try".. And I told her nicely with a smile on my face "well if you can't split the payment.. It will just get denied because I only have $11 left" so I swipe my card and the other lady next to her said "we can split the payment" but it was too late.. My payment processed and I walked out of there ready to transfer all my prescriptions to Costco.. I'm not asking for anyone to be super uber nice and cheery.. I get it.. you get some mean customers.. But have some sort of customer service.. Be grateful that you have a job in San Diego.. Because I'm sure there are people out there who would replace you in a heart beat and can do it with a smile on their face! read more

My fellow Yelpers, I have heard that the first step toward rehabilitation is admitting that you have a problem. You see, I'm a closet crazy coupon lady. I said it. I hate paying full price for things that I can get for next to nothing or even free. My cart contains a myriad of items ranging anywhere from Special K, to deodorant, to batteries, all for 50%-90% off retail. I carefully plan my trips out, making a list, checking it twice. I need my weekly fix. I'm a full blown CVS junkie. There are two CVS stores within a mile of my home, but I go the extra two miles out of my way to this CVS. The cashiers know the drill here, and they always have enough of my product in stock. I walk up to the front to make my purchase, and I know my fix is just a few moments away. They know me and greet me by name. They scan my CVS loyalty card and the total piles up. Then the coupons take over and the price comes way down. I inhale tat first taste of savings. When I'm out of coupons, I hand over my extra bucks which push the total down to meager pennies on the dollar. I walk out, purchases and extra bucks in hand feeling triumphant and riding the high until next week when I do it all over again. read more
