I love this Costco. It is clean, well maintained, has all of the up to date inventory and the it never feels like I have entered a zoo (a common experience at most Costco's). My only complaint is that this Costco doesn't have a gas station at it, so I end up having to go to the Sunnyvale Costco which I'm not a huge fan of. Overall, this Costco is the nicest one in the South Bay. I highly recommend coming here if you want quality in products and a positive experience where you don't feel pushed and shoved. Also - the food here is amazing. I am obsessed with Costco pizza. If you haven't tried it, you absolutely have to. You could also pretty much have a full meal just walking around and eating samples... which is also a plus. ;) read more

This Costco is not bad on the weekends. I try at all costs to avoid going to Costco (Sunnyvale) on the weekends b/c a) the parking is a nightmare and b) too long of a line to stand in. This one in Mtn. View proved to be worthwhile to come to b/c a) the parking is easy to find and b) the line flows pretty well. I love the fact that the you can now order food from the snack bar when you're checking out and I no longer have to wait in another hideous line! read more

I like to tell you about the Costco hearing aid center in Mountainview,Ca Christopher Bastidas and Chao Ying Zheng are both knowledgeable with hearing aids and both have very good attitudes. They are willing to help. Appointment is only half hour, too short for such complicated hearing aids with high technology involved with IPhone. Both Christopher and Mr. Zheng worked very hard to do everything the can. Why only four stars? The clerk name Mohini (can't forget such a common name for Indian women)has poor attitude, treat people like second class citizens. I hope someday she loose her hearing and see how that feel. Mohini looks very miserable at the front and does not like to be there. read more

I wish so much that this Costco had more vegan/gluten free items. They even lack in a lot of foods that are naturally vegan/gluten free (like a variety of frozen vegetables.) not a great location if you want healthy snack options. Mostly standard American food here. read more

This review is for the customer service. I recognize that Costco's return policy and customer service is supposed to be at a high standard. Having frequented many Costcos before, I can't say this is always my experience. However, this location is exceptional!!! There's a lady who seems to manage the whole group and she is absolutely phenomenal. Friendly, patient, thoughtful... next time, I may be tempted to hug her (if that didn't invade her personal space). Having said that.... the customer service at the Optimal department is terrible! For me, this is hands down the best Costco in the area. Every other Costco I go to is of course just as jam packed with people, but these folks actually open most of their registers, making it super fast for checkout. I usually wait at the most 3 minutes to get up to the checkout line, and that's really pushing it at this location. I'm usually at checkout with someone in front of me finishing up, or I go straight to the cashier/self checkout. I love Costco, largely for the look that dances in other people's eyes when I'm saying "I'm going on a Costco run." It's mostly jealousy, a dreamy kind of jealousy. Things that you'll get at Costco for a better price than anywhere else: vacuum cleaners, blenders and food processors, olive oil, certain cereals, Sabra hummus, pasta in bulk, trail mix, paper products, Diet Coke, alcohol... sometimes. You have to look out, though, sometimes it seems like the price really isn't any kind of discount. Especially with those coupons. They're myths! Also-- they only take debit, cash, check?, or American Express. No frequent flyer miles for my granola addiction :( And of course, the samples. Who doesn't go to Costco for the samples?? The samples at this one are about 50% meat, which isn't so great for vegetarians... and is unexpected in California. Maybe it's a deliberate ploy to keep costs down? This is a nice Costco. The staff is friendly, it is well spread out, and it is a good costco. The one downside to this particular costco is their entrance, it is very poorly designed. Long time shopper of this Costco but I only shop here during the week. Overall, I prefer this location although it does annoys me that they no longer carry the Kirkland chicken thighs and I have to go to the Sunnyvale site (shudders) but I digress. This is a "boutique" Costco in a BigBox sense. The employees have been and continue to be very helpful and friendly. One of the reasons I continue to shop here is the customer service is consistent and quite good. Seems to be little employee turnover. Good selection of basic needs plus items that I dont need but end up buying... lol The employees are 5 star in my book It seems that leaving pallets of product scattered about the aisles with no indication that restocking is going on has become more common place. There have been times I can not get to items as the pallets are blocking the shelves with no employee around. This may because this particular store is far busier than it used to be and employees are in demand. I have to say, I don't see employees just standing around chatting that's for sure - they work hard. What really kills the rating are majority of the customers who shop here now are simply rude to both employees and other customers. Please and Thank you - two words unknown to these awful people. It's not the tech workers being rude either. I suspect these self involved fools came over from another location that is known to have rude customers. Vast majority are women over 25. Many think nothing of blocking an aisle, pushing you, letting their kids run wild and/or huff and puff if you move their cart or say excuse me. I tried on a pair of gloves and decided to add them to my cart and some woman called me a B! Over react much? Think your items are "safe" in your cart? Not if you turn your back. Lost count of the times I've been hit with a shopping cart by someone. Line cuts, etc.. Parking lot - ugh. Really is it going to kill you to park two spots away? Free samples - danger zone. Cracks me up that the women who are wearing designer labels will run you over to get a free piece of food. Last pet peeve are many of the google express people. Horrible service at the photo due to homophobia and racism. Had a worker yell at me for asking for my photos. Horrible experience. You should be ashamed. It was the man with the glasses and peppered hair who yelled at me for no reason but was nice to everyone else. Go seek help and stop bringing everyone down with your misery. I was there to pick up my photos and carry on with my day. But you chose me and my partner to yell at and test us. The homophobia and the racism was showing sir. ANOTHER UPDATE: Every time I go here, the service gets even worse. These are the most uptight, power-tripping bunches of people I've ever seen. I went to Costco to purchase a bag of chips (which shows you how loyal / stupid I am to wait in line and fight the crowds). Regardless, I get up to the check stand, where I find out the Costco card is overdue by 3 days. I have a secondary card, so I know my membership will be renewed by the primary card holder. Also, I don't have $100 on me, nor do I carry an American Express card. After the lady at the register stresses it's been "ALREADY THREE DAYS PAST DUE!" (do people really go to Costco every day?), I tell her I'll just leave without the chips to get the line moving. To her credit, she calls over a supervisor. At this point, I'm really over the chips and ready to leave and avoid having the line build up more. The manager, then needs to stress it's been "THREE DAYS!". Wow, three whole days I think to myself. They treat me like a criminal, as if I've gone into Costco the past 2 days buying lots of stuff without renewing (forget the fact that I don't have the membership fee money on me). The man behind me is nice enough to offer his card, but the supervisor power trips even more and says there is no transferring of the card. Once she walks away, I give the man my money. He hands it over to the cashier, Wow, Costco, as a member for over 10 years, and I purchase thousands of dollars from your stores each year. My fiancee's store purchases tens of thousands of dollars from your stores. Unfortunately, unless I find a viable alternative, I'll probably be forced to go here. I'll definitely think twice about buying random items like I used to in the past. I really hope that bag of chips and stressing the "THREE DAYS!" to me 20 times was really worth it for them. I came here recently just to walk around because I finished my hour-long lunch early. Before my most recent visit, I came here last month to buy something from the food court. I can't remember all of the other Costco locations but this place had a Turkey wrap which was good enough if you just want something in your stomach. I don't think other Costco locations had Turkey wraps but I could be wrong. Anyways, back to my recent visit. I walked around and I felt that this Costco was smaller than the others by a little. Of course every Costco's floor layout would be different but this one felt smaller. There were a lot of people (no surprise) which made the lines super long (what else is new for all Costco locations?). Good thing I didn't need to buy anything; otherwise, I would have been late to come back from my lunch break. A lot of the isles were clean and organized but I didn't go around to thoroughly check. lol The parking lot was full so don't be surprised if you had to park far away especially if it's a hot day. read more

I love the variety and my newest love of Aussie Bites, oats, sunflower seeds, coconut, raisens hockey pucks and you know these are tasty if I eat them. I love that my company pays for my card. Today was our first time shopping at this Costco. Great selection and parking was easy. We went there just after opening time.

I thought it was a great idea to order groceries online. I ordered tea, juice, dates, walnuts and pecans. I received the tea and juice only. the delivery email thinks that the dates were also delivered, but I am still waiting, not to mention that I also did not receive the walnuts and pecans. I tried to find a number to talk to a real person about my order. I was charged $169.99 on my credit card. The number I finally called was only a recording. I assume my only remedy is to litigate. I definitely will not be ordering anything from Costco online. This is not a very good way to treat a 78 year old lady. read more

This review is about the photo center service. Omg the Asian gentlemen here is so rude. The way he talks to you like he's yelling at your face with no respect for customer or whatsoever. He just wants to be done with any customer he talks to and moves on with his life. It seems like he works hard, I just wonder if customer service is his strength. This is for the optical dept. I was fine when I purchased my contacts a week ago out of pocket but wasnt able to purchase using VSP due to it being locked. Called VSP and they said nothing is locked so I don't know who's lying. Anyway..Costco person that helped me said that I can call and try to verify it later being that it's almost closing time. So i finally had time to call in a week later and he don't remember who I was and that he said we don't verify anything over the phone. I was like what!!! You told me I could. I didn't want to mention we are in a freakin PANDEMIC that I have to come over there just to verify my VSP! That is absolutely unacceptable. Thought I would save money going to Costco buying my contacts but with their service I'll pay more elsewhere. read more

As far as Costco stores go, this one is similar to most. This location does NOT have a gas station, so keep that in mind. It is slightly smaller than some Costco stores, but it is arranged well (and arguably better than some of the bigger warehouses). I can think of a few negatives: 1.) Parking can be terrible. This Costco warehouse is located next to a shopping center that includes a large wine retailer, comic book shop, Ross department store and a several other establishments. Parking is very limited in front of the Costco (and poorly designed -- with on outlet to the street). This creates terrible congestion. Worse: People have a tendency to treat the through streets as if they are sidewalks. This slows vehicles down. 2.) Quite a few of the people who frequent this Costco have a terrible habit of leaving their cart in a busy aisle and then walking somewhere to pick something up. This creates congestion in the store -- particularly during busy hours. I once moved a shopping cart to the side and the woman came running up and scolded me for doing so. Apparently, she didn't care about the 20 customers behind me waiting to get by while she blocked shopping cart traffic with her own cart as she examined socks. 3.) The Food Court is great -- but the employees are sometimes hit-or-miss. The service will, of course, depend upon the employees. Unfortunately, some of them seem poorly trained. I once waited 45 minutes for a pizza -- asking three times whether my pizza (which was purchased at the store register) was ready. I was scolded by the employee and told that they would tell me when it was ready. After 45 minutes, I asked a fourth time. It turns out that they apparently gave my pizza away to someone else -- who didn't pay for it. I had to wait another 15 minutes while my perishable items continued to remain in the shopping cart. Other than that, this is a great place to shop. I've learned how to avoid bad parking congestion (by choosing the timing of my visits wisely) and to only order pizza by phone or at the Food Court window. read more

I love Costco, it is a great place with extremely high quality goods for decent prices. Despite certain things that irritate me about this place ( like it's about as packed as Disneyland on any given weekend), I will of course continue to go there, because it really is worth it on so many levels. My only GRIPE (and I am hoping some of the big-wigs actually read the yelp reviews and can do something about this?) is WHY do the sample people act SO FREAKING SLOW about giving out samples? They work at a snails pace, literally like watching molasses pour, while gobs of people huddle around waiting (endlessly) like hungry buzzards. It is INANE. Does Costco train them to be so dang CHEAP? These people act like you are taking money out of their pockets, and god forbid you should grab an extra sample for your mate, or child, they will give you the stink eye like you are a pig. Costco GET A GRIP. Train your sample givers to A. be quicker, B. stop being cheap-asses, and C. treat customers who drop $300-$1000 a pop in your store with some friggin' dignity. I just really love Costco. Really. I am sad that this one does not have a gas station, which means I need to go to the Lawrence Costco for gas, but I love that this one is literally down the street from my office! It's a slightly smaller Costco but still has everything one could want from a Costco. The parking lot gets a little frustrating sometimes because it's full of one-way aisles and is considerably smaller than other Costcos, but I have found that it's actually generally less crowded than other stores, as well. I think the longest I've ever had to wait in the checkout line was three customers - not bad for a Costco at all! Last sad thing is that their samples are not very...flourishing...especially lately. There have been days where I go at lunch and there's only one sample table out! What's going on, guys?? Even around Thanksgiving, there'd be about three sample tables out - one to serve cheese and the other two serving chocolate. The sample selection is a tad sad :( All that to say, I still love Costco and the unnecessary quantity in which we are able to buy things here. read more

We had a terrible experience with a Cosco product as well as Costco's employees. We bought a massage gun from Costco and when we took it home and opened the box, it was empty! Like this was not enough disappointment, the way the employees behaved when we wanted to get the refund afterward was unacceptable. They were very rude and reacted in a way like it was our fault. Even though the manager solved the issue and gave us a cash card instead, we were shocked by the horrible experience we had with the staff. What to say about Costco. Do you really need that much? As a smaller family, there is really no need for us to buy in such big quantities. Costco fulfills our need for vitamins, produce, and some of the other special food items they have. Costco carries surprisingly delicious, organic produce. Their pizza and cakes are actually pretty good and well heard of. We bought a great pineapple, melon, and grapes at Costco. I also realy like some of their big packages of frozen vegetables to make stir fries. But, so much of their food would spoil in our house before it was eaten. This is a bit of a smaller location and is missing some of the drinks that I have purchased at other locations like my favorite La Croux seltzer water. My mom also goes to Costco to have pictures printed. She really likes it as you can edit the photos online and then pick them up at Costco for a very reasonable price. Of course, we always shop during sampling time and fill up on their treats. Lately, it seems like they have cut back on the number of sample stations. Costco is very busy on the weekends and can be a bit chaotic when so many parents come with their children. Some of the bulk items don't even seem to be better priced than in regular stores. Sometimes, though, I am just in the mood for a Costco trip, and seeing what you can find can be fun. read more

TIRE CENTER REVIEW! They get 2 stars for having my tire in stock and replacing it relatively hassle free but some things I must note... 1) So they replaced my front tire successfully BUT they only put air in my rear tire without actually inspecting it. I was back at a different Costco the next day getting my rear tire PATCHED due to a hole in it. 2) At the register, they put down an incorrect phone number and I mentioned to the associate the particular error and assured me that he "fixed" it. Lo' and behold...they called and left a voicemail on the INCORRECT number saying that my car was done. I spent an extra two hours walking around that plaza and costco. 3) Was put on hold for over 20 minutes while they were checking to see if my tire was in stock. Maybe they are understaffed and overwhelmed? I can understand reason #3 but reasons 1 & 2 are pretty unacceptable. read more

Self service check out lane, some staff 'A' help you scan without asking you and leave you after it messed the machine and another staff 'B' resets the scanning while 'A' watching all the time, the idea of self service is you do it by you without interruption, hope the staff be courteous to ask first if customer needs help before they intercede in line. read more

My favorite CostCo even though another one is closer to me. This CostCo has a Total Wine store next door, and a sushi place in the same mall. Plenty of parking, and an In and Out across the street. Close to 101 freeway, too. There are tons of very long term employees here, which I think is a good thing. They seem slightly more invested in service than are the newbies. read more

While shopping around the store today I decided to purchase a potted hydrangea planted. The sign above the plants stated a price of $19.99. I grabbed the plant and continued the rest of my shopping. When I went to checkout, I began to place my smaller items on the belt and the cashier quickly snapped at me to leave the items in the cart. Being an experienced Costco shopper I always leave items in my cart with the UPCs facing up to speed up the checking out processes, but today I had a few smaller items that I was purchasing separately. After snapping at me to leave the items in the cart, the cashier Simon, grabbed the items and began to shove them back in the cart. The hydrangea I was planning to buy was sitting in the cart and I asked Simon not to smash the plant as he was throwing the items back in the cart. Simon quickly barked back in a snotty voice "Don't worry I won't smash your plant". As Simon proceeded to ring up my items, the struggled to find a UPC for the hydrangea, when he finally did the plant rang up as $29.99. I told the cashier that sign above all the potted hydrangeas stated $19.99. He quickly cut me off and said "No. It's $29.99". I once again told him that the sign above all the hydrangeas said $19.99. Not phased by me saying that, I told him I would go double check in case I misread the sign. While I left my boyfriend there to purchase the rest of our items I walked over the hydrangeas and once again looked at the sign above the plant. It listed $19.99. I understand that products can be misplaced my customers, however there were at 20 hydrangeas all the same as the one I was purchasing under that sign for $19.99 and the description on the price sign matched the item. I took a picture of the sign and the hydrangeas underneath and brought it back up to Simon to show him. When I came back and showed him the photo of the price Simon, once again in a condescending and irritated voice, snapped that it rang up as $29.99 and that's the price. At this point I was becoming frustrated with the obvious pricing error and the total lack of customer service from Simon. Simon just stood there and didn't offer to call a supervisor over. Finally I said can you please call a supervisor over. He reluctantly yelled out "Sup!" But of course no one came. Finally a few minutes later he yelled for a supervisor again. This time a supervisor came over (Vincent). Before I could even say anything Simon quickly told Vincent "This lady is saying the plant is $19.99, but it's $29.99". I told Simon that I could speak for myself and explain the situation. I pulled up the picture and showed Vincent that ALL of the hydrangeas are under ONE sign that clearly lists the prices as $19.99. Vincent cut me off and started arguing with me that the sign is for a different item. I once again told him that there were no other signs stating a price of $29.99 for the hydrangeas. That there was ONE sign with a description that matched the product above all of them that said $19.99. Vincent and Ricky both started telling me I was incorrect. At this point I was fuming and I told them that was fine. That it's against the law in the state of California to overcharge a customer when the sign lists a different price and that I would be calling Santa Clara County Weights and Measures. I guess at this point Vincent realized that I knew what I was talking about. All of the sudden lost is arrogant and aggressive tone with me and said "I was never trying to argue with you. I never said I wasn't going to give you the price". Vincent finally changed the price to $19.99. I told him he should go change the sign. At this point he just walked away. I have never in my life experienced such awful customer service from a cashier and supervisor. They were both condescending and arrogant, especially since it was obvious that this was mistake that they had made with signing and overcharging the customer. I am absolutely disgusted with the way it was handled. Immediately after exiting the store I realized how atrociously the situation had been handled and I went back in and returned my purchases. They always go above and beyond. The tire department gets 5 stars. This Costco store keeps moving the items around so you waste your time wandering around the store trying to find the item. With all the apps, why doesn't Costco create a map to the store that can be updated daily so customers can go directly to the aisle and get out. Minus 1 star for not having a directory where to find items. Optical department is another story. Had them replace the single vision lenses in my sun glasses. It took them over a week to get my sun glasses. They got the prescription right but the tint and polarization were uneven around the lens perimeter on both the right and left lens. Some parts were too dark, streaky and blotchy. It was not noticeable under the fluorescent lights in the store but very noticeable in sunlight. Got several comments from friends wondering what happened to my sun glasses. Took them back to Costco and of course they said nothing was wrong and the sun just set. The counter persons were not very helpful and finally the woman said she would send them back to be redone after I was adamant they were not correct. They really need a method to check tint and polarization in the store instead of denying anything is wrong. Minus 2 stars for the optical department customer service and not having a method to verify the tint/polarization workmanship are correct. I actually regret having Costco replace the lenses again because they have no way to verify the workmanship is correct. I should have just gotten credit and went to Mountain View Optometry. It would have been faster and it would have made correctly the first time. While I am writing this review, minus another star for not having a gas station. I have been a long time customer and always happy with this Costco. However, I went in for a return today and the supervisor 'Quy' who worked at the customer service was giving below par service. He didn't seem to know how to look into order details and history, need explanation from other workers, not listening and communicating with customers well and not in decent courtesy manner. I hope this is just because he is new and will be willing to learn and improve in a near future. read more

As a twentysomething girl who doesn't go through food or paper products very quickly, I never really understood the allure of buying in bulk. Until I wandered into the Costco pharmaceutical section. You see, deep down I harbor some miserly tendencies. Sometimes, this causes problems. For example: The typical box of Trojans contains about 12 condoms and costs about 12 dollars. Sometimes, when I about to use one of my condoms, I catch myself thinking things like, "This better be worth my dollar..." Thoughts like that are not very, um, mood-enhancing. However, my jaunt into the pharmaceutical section led me to discover: The Costco Trojan 40-pack for $9.69!! And now I have no more problems. Because even the sloppiest, most awkward sex ever is worth a QUARTER. Oh, and also, the churros are most excellent. read more
