I'm not short enough to be considered as petite but not tall enough for regular length pants. I love Ann Taylor and Loft for pants; I never have to alter the length. I went to the Loft today and they were friendly and patient with my return. The store is well stocked and organized. This store is a huge mess and has been every time I've been in there in recently. Customer service needs improvement. Manager was handling an issue between another customer and staff today, loudly. All staff seem affected and stressed. Store also did not honor a discount code that I was issued a few days ago and manager stated it is "invalid" although it has not yet been redeemed. I don't get it. They got the manager involved and she also couldn't get it to work. I left a purchase at the register today when I finally had enough and walked away. I went to the loft at Mayfair to pick up an order, one was in stock and the other cancelled. The associate went to see if the second one was there and it was! They would not honor the price I paid online for the sweaters and the price was higher today! I tried to reason with them and they got obnoxious and said they could do nothing. There was no information given. Many people left. The manager snapped at another customer when she asked why no explanation was given. I tried to contact corporate but no luck. Went in there this past week/weekend. I had a great experience! I was looking for something for a party and this lovely gal who worked there helped me out. She was very sweet, blonde hair, I believe I heard someone call her name like Clarsa or similar. She was very helpful. Good amount of items in the sale section, I snagged a pair of paper bag pants during the extra 50% off sale items promotion. No one really came to ask me if I need assistance and the dressing room can be a mess sometimes, there's no attendant so just go in an empty room. They put the jewelry station next to the registers so sometimes people don't know where to start the line. read more

I have never experienced such horrible customer service! I walked into the store and immediately rather than being greeted I was told "ma'am we close in 4 minutes". I said ok I'll be out of here by then. As I walked to the back to look at some clothes another sales person said "we close in 3 minutes". I said ok, if you don't want my business I'll leave. So I walked right out. I understand there are closing hours to a business but I've never had anyone kick me out of a store so rudely. They might as well lock the door 4 minutes early if that's the attitude they have. And to the lady that said they open again tomorrow at 11 people have jobs and aren't always available to come back. IMHO This store is one of my best friend's favorite women's clothing stores, so after a nice lunch in Santana Row, we headed over. A friendly sales associate promptly greeted and informed us that the entire store was 40% off! (And if you were a loyal club member or credit card holder, one could take an additional 10% off!) I found a beautiful cottony spring shift dress and headed to the dressing room with two sizes. (Hannah was very helpful searching the stockroom for additional sizes that were not on the sales floor. Because of this, she made a few sales of this beautiful dress!) Customer service was excellent from the ladies working the sales floor. Absolutely horrible customer service! Went to the store to drop off a jacket that was damaged when shipped. Firstly, had to wait a solid 10 mins at the register to even be acknowledged - the store had 0 customers. The young lady who attended to me was extremely rude and judged me for returning a damaged jacket that LOFT sent me!I could not believe the amount of attitude/disrespect I received for a simple return- I hope LOFT invests in some anti- bias training and actually hires staff that know how to treat their customers with the dignity they deserve! read more

This store used to be a gem. What was once a nice clothing store, and descent fashion brand has now turned into another second hand corner store. Their clothes have all been BOUGHT, WORN, WASHED, DRIED, DYED AND RETURNED ten times over! Most of the clothing is completely Out of Style. I would recommend this store for nobody. read more

Needed to come here to return some items I purchased online. Since they've closed a number of their locations, I decided to make a trip out out of it. Upon arriving to the store, it showed that one of the tags was not attached to the dress. I just received that package that week and none of the items worked out. The sales associate doing the transaction said I could not return that particular item. I was confused since most stores generally just go into their system and type the SKU/style number found on the garment and proceed with the return. I had the same exact dress in a different size and she said she still couldn't do the return. I found this completely odd and to be quite frank, poor sales practice for the store. Called their 888 number and I was correct, the sales associate was wrong. I could have returned the item but the sales associate just didn't want do it. Thankfully the person I spoke to over the phone sent me a return label instead. Santana Row Loft - you really need to train or retrain your staff on company protocols in regards to returns. Yes, you have an aesthetic layout of a store in a prime location but if your associates don't know what they're doing your store will end up like the rest of them. Closed. read more

Pre-ordered items to be shipped to the Arden Sacramento store and they got my order in wrong- all of it, from the color down to the size! Ridicuous! I love this store. I always find something I like here. I always thought of Ann Taylor as clothing for old ladies. No offense to the older ladies, but ya'll know what I'm saying right? So first of all, I love the fashions here. Some of the items aren't really my style of course, but they carry a great selection of items from simple & classic to fun & trendy. They also have a small selection of accessories & shoes. Check out their sale racks too, they always have a good selection of items there as well at great prices. The main thing I like about this store is their service. I've found that the employees here are always friendly, unlike their sister store just a couple blocks away at Valley Fair Shopping Center. I did NOT like the vibe there. The employees at the Santana Row location are happy to answer questions, help with sizing, check back stock & basically do whatever it takes to make one happy. Although they didn't have the items I really wanted in stock (my last time there) they tried really hard to make me happy. I had to compliment the manager on duty on the job they are doing at this location because my visits to this store have been consistently positive experiences. read more

I was here before and it was a good experience but yesterday I made an online order and this morning I had to call in twice to ask when it would be ready (never received alert message). I was told the order wasn't available anymore. So I guess they sold it to whoever walked instead of holding the item for me. Terrible service. All they said was that I wouldn't be charged for it. Of course I wouldn't be. But what's the point to even order online and get ready to pick up? It's like they dont even bother to sort out online order before opening the store or their computer system would not stop another purchase if the item was on hold. read more

Beware if you go to the loft. They have a loyalty program but it really is their way of getting you to add yet another credit card. Never did they say that is was a credit card. They tell you its a locality program and just takes a few minutes to sign up. You get 15 percent of your purchases for the day. Yes some of it was my fault for not really paying too much attention but the fact that is a loyalty card really is misleading. I am so turned off from the way they mislead me i will never go to this store again. Not in any city of state!!! read more

This loft location is not really customer service friendly. I wanted to return some items I purchased and exchange one size. The exchange was a disaster. The older woman that helped me wasn't nice. She didn't know how to do it and instead of doing an even exchange she said instead I should just keep it. It took 3 people and finally they just gave it to me cheaper. The older woman just kept repeating just keep it so I'm not sure where they learned that customer service but that creating a detractor for sure. I won't go back to this location and I suggest if you have a return do not go here. That woman will make it very difficult. read more

My daughter and I went to Loft today. She was looking for high-rise petite jeans in the store and couldn't find any available that were on display. So, when we needed help, Ella was the only one who took the initiative to search for the item at the storage area of the store. Without Ella's help, we wouldn't have found those jeans and for that we are grateful. Also, Ella is extremely sweet, as she never hesitated to answer all our questions. After coming to Loft, my daughter was and still is incredibly elated at the new jeans that we recieved due to Ella's help. Ella, if you are reading this, thank you for going the extra mile to help my daughter. P.S. The manager of Loft should give Ella a raise for a job well done. Well, I am very surprised at the customer service at this location - or should I say lack there of. Being Santana Row and the name behind the brand of Ann Taylor -all I can say is Tsk tsk. So I got this promo card from Ann Taylor Loft to use $20 off any purchase of at least $20+. I made sure I read the fine print, b/c I am aware that sometimes you can't use it in conjunction with other sales/promos. But this card didn't specify, score! Must be because I've shopped here so frequently they wanted to reward me! So I went down to Santana Row this afternoon to do some shopping. I was greeted by Salesman Calvin and he later rung me up. I picked out a few items and went to the register. This is the second time I've been at this location and I had to wait for a store associate, they don't keep an eye out for customers ready and willing to pay. I went up to Calvin and asked for him to ring me up. So he rings me up and I hand him my promo card and the conversation proceeds as follow: C: You can't use this Me: Why not? C: You didn't hit the minimum purchase requirement. Me: Yes i did, this card only says spend at least $20. C: You can't use this in conjunction with sale items Me: The promo card doesn't specify that. I read the fine print [Calvin proceeds to read the fine print for 5 minutes - granted there was only 4 lines of fine print, mainly specifying the dates this promo was valid for]. C: I've never seen this promo card before. Me: Well, you guys mailed it to me. Obviously I shop here so much that you guys rewarded me with it. C: Usually these you can't combine with other sales and theres a minimum purchase requirement [Calvin is flipping thru the manager book for who knows what - to make sure I didn't make up this promo card? ] Me: I am aware of that, but this promo card doesn't have any of that C: You understand that if I honor this, this isnt a valid contract, if we went to court Me: (ARE YOU SERIOUS?!) Listen Sir, I went to law school and I know what a valid contract is. Your company sent me the promo card without the specifications that you are claiming. If you want to have those specifications, then you need to have them printed. Otherwise you are just misrepresenting to your customers. [minutes pass, which feel like an eternity...] C: I'll honor it this time, but I can't do it in the future Me: Don't worry, there won't be a next time, not shopping at this location ever again. I can't believe he made such a big deal over $20, I mean I still purchased items! Your company sent me the promo card to shop more! Never will I be returning to this location. I love the clothing line from LOFT. It is affordable, chic and comfortable. But Loft do you really have to charge your customer for a paper bag??!! It's not much but still it was weird to be asked if I want to pay for a bag whereas I was not charged anywhere else. And sales ladies/men: If you hate your job don't make it too obvious and don't show your arrogant behavior to paying customers. I rather just order my clothes online. This store has more selections of clothes and accessories compared to Oakridge Mall where the store is much more spacious. The customer service is amazing, where I had lost my phone at Santana Row yesterday and I was in a panic mood. Luckily, I went back to the store asking one of the sales associate if she had seen my phone where she was accommodating, kind, friendly, and understanding since most stores aren't responsible for customers losing their personal belongings. I don't know her name, but she can be identified as an African American female with short curly hair who asked for contact information in case they were able to locate the missing item. Then, her colleague found my phone at the front register where someone was kind enough to bring it there; instead of keeping the phone to sell it to the public. read more

Women over the age of 25 do not only wear cropped sweaters and high waisted pants. How about some variety? However, I do love that their petites section is bigger than the one in Oakridge. Their fitting room was clean, but crowded! I have several pairs of pants (white jean, wool, cord, you name it) specifically for work that I've bought from Ann Taylor, and I have never been disappointed.
