Hallmark usually has a great sale after Christmas on their Christmas gift wrap and other Christmas items. I stopped by, the location in Sunnyvale, to see if they had any Christmas gift wrap on sale. My supply is running low and it would be nice to get some for next year at a good price. They had quite a bit of Christmas decor and some Christmas wrapping paper 40% off. I selected 5 different rolls of gift wrap and headed to the checkout. This should last me a few years. The associate at the counter was very friendly. We had a nice chat while she wrung up my items. This location has excellent customer service. They also have a post office inside which is very convenient. I'm glad I stopped by today. read more

First, they close at 5:00pm they don't cater to the general population of customers! People work and don't usually get off until 5:00 and want to shop for cards and gifts but can't because they close so they can go home for dinner! That's not good customer service! 2nd, I bought some Xmas ornaments from them with a theme and after I hit home I realized I bought the wrong theme so I brought them back and they said no returns or refunds!!! What? It's an even exchange! I begged and finally they made an exception! I asked the hallmark store in oakridge and their policy is returns for Xmas stuff up until January! This store is a rip off and they make their own rules to fit them not the customer! They are not in business for the customer they're in business for themselves! I can't speak about the post office services, but the store is clean, well organized and there was even a store representative who asked me if I needed anything. Standard Hallmark store. Review is based on something I noticed after I left the store. I was asked at the time of purchase whether I had a Crown Rewards number, I did not so the person at the register proceeded to ring up my purchase. After I returned home, I looked at my receipt and realized my purchase was credited to a Crown Rewards account of someone named Kaushik Patel (who apparently is a platinum member with over 290,000 Crown Rewards points). I can only assume this is an employee there and they credit other people's purchases to their own account. While not a big deal in the grand scheme of things and who knows what happens to those points, it's weird to see this on my receipt and seems extremely unethical to do this if it's for their own gain. This is a cute little store, I didn't know this existed. They have a huge collection of Greeting cards for all occasions even for occasions like for Christening, Holy communion etc. for which cards are hard to get. Lots of other toys, art supplies and knick knacks. Best part is it's not crowded and you can shop in peace as opposed to places like Michaels or CostPlus. They also have a post office and a notary in the store and ofcouse no long lines. read more

The Postal Service man is a nightmare!!! He is rude beyond belief. He will not politely do his job by explaining mailing options and prices, raises his voice and makes comments like "it's your money", he actually said "make up your mind lady", he walks away and ignores you while you wait in line and responds only when you make eye contact or say something to indicate you need help. He constantly complains about his job and all he has to do, says he can take a two hour lunch if he wants to, because he starts early, and there is nothing anybody can do about it. He was equally rude to the woman in front of me and the woman behind me. He is a Michael's Hallmark employee. I complained to the clerk, there was nothing she could do. I asked to speak to the owner and they were at one of their other stores. It was implied they keep him because they don't have another Post Office person. I have shopped at this Hallmark for fifty years and used the Post Office since its inception. I WILL NEVER patronize this business again. If the owners don't care enough to ensure their customers are treated with courtesy and dignity, they are not worthy of my business. read more

This review update is primarily for the mini-post office in the back. It doesn't matter whether you need to mail a package, buy stamps, or just ask a mail-related question. The employees who work in the post office are the best. I want to give a shoutout to one of them in particular, Bill. A package that I had mailed from this post office to be mailed to San José got completely lost. What should've been a simple and straightforward delivery (Sunnyvale to San José -- How hard can it be?) ended up turning into a massive headache. Bill went out of his way to go the extra mile by showing me what I needed to do to get my money back that I had paid to have the package overnighted. (Seeing as this post office is a contract station, they weren't able to refund me my money.) He also explained what likely happened to the package and even said he'd do what he could do on his own to help recover my package. How's that for customer service? Aside from Bill, the other employees are also very personable and friendly, and it always feels like you're supporting a mom-and-pop shop whenever you come to this location and whether or not you use the post office or buy other goods. When you walk in, you'll likely be greeted with a friendly hello by one of the ladies who work up front. They also have everything you need when it comes to mail: stamps, boxes, envelopes, paper, etc. You go to any other post office or chain store that sells the same products and you'll likely be met with impersonal and unsatisfactory service. I had similar bad experience with the man at the post office. He did not have any desire to help. He asked if I wanted to buy stamps. When I said no and the I simply want to pay for postage for a mail to be sent internationally he chastised me for bringing it in to him instead of just putting $1.5 worth of postage at home. Came in today 10/22/2021 around 11:05am for a money order. And this Indian employee was VERY RUDE. he said they don't do money orders. But online it says they do money orders. He refused to be helpful in any kind of way. While in line he was rude to 2 other customers. I told him off. He needed to be told something. I have been a loyal customer ever since I moved to Sunnyvale which is over 25 years. After a few unpleasant encounters with the new management, I have decided to avoid this place. First instance was in July during their ornament debut. If a customer submitted a completed wish list by the deadline, you were eligible to get a free holiday shopping bag ( value $5.99). I did. Two weeks later weeks later, I went to pick up my ornaments. My order came to $60. I asked for my free bag. The manager said the bag is free only with a $100 minimum purchase. I told him that there was no mention of a minimum purchase in the wish list booklet. He said that that's his rule and did not give me my bag. I told him that this should have been stated on the booklet. He just brushed me off. I wrote to Hallmark.com's customer support. What a waste of time. My second encounter was with the "buy 2, get 1 free" promotion at this store. I chose my two boxes of cards and wanted to use a store coupon. Again the manager said coupons are not valid on discounted items. Nowhere on the coupon did it state that there was such a restriction. Again, the manager said that it was their policy. Needless to say, I did not purchase the cards. I will write to Hallmark.com's customer UN-service department, but do not expect a sympathetic reply. Their last "ruling" was that each store can do what they want. I don't intend to shop there ever again. In fact, given the indifference from Hallmark.com, I may just avoid Hallmark completely. Cards aren't as popular as they used to be, given the age of the Internet. There's social media, digital cards, other companies ( on Etsy), etc. There is a reason that Hallmark is closing some stores and laying off employees. They are obsolete and should be doing everything they can to hold on to their customers. read more

This place is a joke! Poorly managed and careless employees. I called 3 times to see if they had a specific ornament in-stock. I spent close to an hour on hold. 1st call, the associate asked me what ornament I was looking for and placed me on hold for 27 minutes, never returning to the phone. I hung up and called back. 2nd call, the same associate answered the phone. I politely said I was on-hold regarding the ornament, and she acted like she was not the one helping me. She asked me again what ornament and asked me to please hold. I did for another 25 minutes. She never returned to the phone. I hung up again and called back. 3rd call, I called and spoke with the same associate again explaining I was now left on-hold twice. She stated they don't have the ornament and that she could add me to a waitlist. What!? You couldn't have said that 52 minutes ago!? She stated that all employees were overworked and do not have support. I can believe that is true. So, Dave Patel, the owner of this store...maybe focus on customer service and provide your employees with the support they need. I for sure will not return as a customer and will share my hard earned dollars with another Hallmark Store that cares about its staff and customers. read more

I have been a regular customer at the mini post office at this Hallmark store. Usually I run into a gentleman who is very helpful and customer friendly (i think his name is Bill). Today I ran into a middle aged woman who was very rude . While I was in line at the mini post office, I was talking to my cousin on my cell phone. As soon as I came to the front of the line, I told my cousin that I would call back later and before I disconnected the phone, the lady at the counter yelled at me saying "I don't want to hear your conversation". I had not even stepped in front of the counter. I thought it was extremely rude and odd - she was polite to the customer in front of me. However something about me riled her - I guess it was my skin color! Note: Several weeks back my wife had a similar experience. We thought of it as a one-off incident. Came in yesterday for a birthday card. As I waited at the checkout the old lady behind the register was having a good time talking to another older woman. The lady seemed nice until it was my turn. She went from smiling and having a good attitude to one woman then a blank face and a rude attitude towards me. Not once did she smile at me and when I asked for the envelopes were, she was not specific at all and told me to just look. After I said thank you for her help which I don't know why I did, she just stood there with a blank face and said nothing.... Right before me when the other old lady left she smiled and told her have a nice day as if they were best friends and gave me the cold shoulder. Very happy to see a post office inside a shop conveniently near For Other Living Things, a regular stop for us! We bought stamps and mailed some things. They're really nice here. I had to mail a stack of magazines, and Bill told me about the BPM rate (Bound Printed Matter); it was way cheaper than first class/parcel post rates. I generally get here within an hour of when they open, and there have been no long lines. The clerks I've encountered are friendly and helpful. Shop: The store has a great selection of greeting cards, ornaments, and gifts. They have sales on a regular basis. They now carry more jewelry than they used to. The store also carries Baggallini bags. The shop clerks that I've seen vary in terms of friendliness. Some walk right past customers without a word nor a glance, and others are quick to greet customers entering the store. The parking lot is shared with Wells Fargo and Smart & Final. read more

I was looking for a Hallmark store that can compare to the one off of Camden Ave. So I looked on to Yelp to help me. I found this one in Sunnyvale, which was closer to work and thought to check it since all the reviews was great. I went to Hallmark looking for a thank you gift. Michael's is located in a strip mall. It was a little hard to find but I found it thanks to Google Maps. I went in the store and they do have cute items but I felt it was to small and everything was just crowded around everything else. It took me awhile to just look for something and I felt I had ADD in the store since there was so much to look at. I did find my card here but I didn't really find a gift. I think this Hallmark was a-ok. I still love the Hallmark on Camden better. read more

Wow, this is probably one of the largest Hallmark's I've ever encountered. I called this store and a friendly lady picked up. I asked her if they had a mini post office inside and she said yes. I drove over during my lunch hour and was able to pick up some really cute stamps for my Save-the-date cards. Score. They had the lavendar wedding heart postage stamps that I had originally intended on purchasing, but I ended up getting these other postage stamps instead. The guy at the post office counter helped me determine how many stamps I need with my cards, etc. And then I was off. I didn't get a chance to browse through and see what else they had in this store, but they had TONS of stuff. I remember seeing a party supply section, a candle section, tons of card rows, stuffed animals, gift baskets, gift boxes, art supples, school supplies, etc. This store is nestled in a cute and quaint town center off of S. Mary Avenue. Very cute and small-town feel. This definitely beats having to stand in line at the Sunnyvale Post Office! read more

**********Warning this will be a long post********** So here's my story. It's Saturday morning and I'm in need of a helium tank for a friend's birthday party. I give them a call and they're able to get me a tank. I'm super happy and pick it up without issue. The night of the party comes and I'm at the restaurant setting up. I was told that this tank will fill 50-60 balloons. At 22 balloons in it's empty. At first I'm surprised, then I'm a little pissed. Seriously, not even 2 packs of balloons later we were out? What gives? The store is already closed and we're over 30 miles away and the guests have just arrived. Nothing to do but work with the ones we have. Anyways, I figure I would keep onto my heated emotions and tell them the issue when I return the tank the next day. I return the tank and tell the two ladies working there that I didn't get nearly the amount of balloons I was told the tank would fill and that if there was anything that could be done about it. They said the best thing to do was to come back tomorrow and that they would leave a note explaining my situation. I'm a little upset that I have to go back there and that it can't be handled over the phone but I figured okay I'll come back the next day. That was today. Around 9:30am I get a phone call from Joan asking me to call her back in regards to the tank. I give her a call back and she apologizes and assures me it never happened before. She then offers me a $20 refund. I ask if it was possible for $30 since the tank rental was $59.95 and was suppose to fill at least 50 balloons and I only got 22 out of it. She goes and sees what she can do but $20 is the best they can do. I agree to come by the store to have the refund issued. Honestly, I was feeling dejected. Mainly because this was for my friend's birthday and I wanted the entire ceiling to be covered in balloons and instead they acted more like an accent. I was also wondering what measures I could take as a customer to avoid this type of incident from happening again or to anyone. **********Off Tangent Flashback Begin********** I even had a flashback to one of my birthdays when I brought cupcakes for the class and my teacher Ms. Otvos (yeah I remember you.....) all of a sudden told all the kids to throw them away because I guess they were being too rowdy and walked around with the trash bin making sure all the kids threw away the cupcakes that I brought to celebrate my birthday. I felt awful inside and powerless and it pretty much ruined my birthday. **********Off Tangent Flashback End********** So I drive there during my lunch feeling kind of down. I boasted to my bf about how I got my tank there and that even though it costs a bit more at least I know it's filled and that there's more of a guarantee unlike all the mixed reviews I see about disposable tanks. I was so happy about it only to be sorely disappointed. I get into the lot and take a breath before going into the store to try and hide my helium emo. Joan is there and she processes my refund quickly and efficiently. I ask her if there was anything I did that could of affected the balloon yield (how the tank was stored and what-not) and if there was a way to check the tank in store to ensure the helium amount was correct. She assured me that the tank was checked a couple of times right before I arrived and referred me over to Bill. Now Bill is the man that fills the tanks up. I asked my questions and he answered them all. He took me to the back where they fill the tanks and showed me his process and what he did that day to my particular tank. Joan even came back there to check on us and even asked him a question I asked her before that might possibly affect the helium in the tank. Bill offered me a sincere apology and said that he will check on the tank again to make sure there isn't a leak and that he always asks the ladies that work in front for customer feedback to make sure that no one has any issues. Apparently I really was the first person to have such issues with one of their tanks, they were just as confused by it as I was. As we continued talking, I felt much better about the situation and they really showed that they cared and even said that they want me to come back as a customer. He then asked me if I would be needing helium in the near future in which case, he said that if I needed to fill 50 balloons that he would make sure I have enough to fill 100 balloons. My birthday is next month so I guess I'll have to plan to have balloons, or walk around the streets filling balloons for random kids..... I mean who doesn't love balloons? Regardless, I went in sad and came out happy. I'll reserve the 5th star after my next tank of helium. read more

The line at this Hallmark Post Office Express is insane (at least on a Tuesday around 11am on December 10th). It moved pretty slowly but there were only two cashiers. They had run out of some of the flat rate shipping boxes, but they have it labeled so that you can request them and you know what they carry. The cashier I had though caught me off guard. She was pretty impatient after she couldn't hear my initial request for another flat rate box. Although she was saying all the right things, her expression and tone was bristling with irritation. Although the other people working there seemed happy, the lady left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm just glad that I was able to get my box out. On another note, this Hallmark store is pretty big. The aisles are pretty small though making it hard to navigate when someone else is looking at something or if you're going to push around a baby stroller or a cart. But there are plenty of knick knacks and random things that you could buy of the Hallmark variety. It just feels pretty cramped, like a small neighborhood store. Note: They do have a copy machine near the front of the store, on the side where the post office is located. read more

Review for the post office: Fast, friendly service. Same prices as a regular post office location. Can't speak for other days/times, but when I went today (Saturday mid-afternoon) there was no line. Plus, the regular post office locations closed at 1pm on Saturday. I asked them how they make money on the post office: they said that they get a (very) small percentage of transactions at their location. OK now this place is filled with needless mark up items, being in the hood near the store I use them for the post office service which is closer than driving to the one on Fremont ave. Now the place is like a golf course with a double dog leg of shelf's to navigate to the Post office service desk. If your not careful you could elbow a few of the items and end up breaking something. But hey they have all kinds of needless markup items to look at while dropping your mail. The post office desk has stamps you can buy, boxes to ship stuff to your aunt in the klondike. Once in a while they have mark down items outside but most of it is stuff that looks like thing from someones garage! This is a one stop shop for all things b-day, weddings and divorces. I found an item online that was 75% off and called store to see if they have it in-stock and if they would honor the online price. The lady on the phone said they would honor the price and I just had to bring a print out of the online price which I did. I verified with the lady on the phone twice to ensure they would honor the price because the store was far from me. She confirmed they would. When I arrived the acting manager said they do not honor online prices and she checked with the owner too and he said no as well. I drove an hour and half to secure this item and despite being promised that they would honor it they refused. The manager said the person who promised me over the phone had gone home for the day and she didn't have authorization to say that. I understand that this store doesn't honor online prices, but because I was told this over the phone by one of their employees I feel they should have made an exception since I told the manager I drove really far just because their employee said they would honor it. read more

By far, THE BEST Hallmark shop there is around this neck of the woods. This is my go-to place for ALL my cards (birthday, anniversary, childrens' , sympathy). They have a variety to choose from, and always the best wording choices. In fact, I usually have a difficult time narrowing my card choices. The cards are that good here! They also have a lot of novel one-of-a-kind trinkets every time I come in (small garden flags, angel statues, candy jars, and margarita glasses). Best of all, customer service is excellent here.
