I had one of those unexpectedly wonderful customer service experiences and wanted to take a moment to recognize Irish at Target Optical in Sunnyvale. I had walked over to the Sunnyvale Public Library with my son and stopped for a moment to wipe my brow when out of nowhere, one of the nose pads on my glasses completely broke off. These were an older pair of glasses I had recently rediscovered while cleaning, so I figured the parts had simply become worn down over time. At first, I thought I'd just grab a repair kit from Target after ChatGPT recommended their Up & Up eyeglass repair kit instead of going all the way to Walgreens. Unfortunately, the only kit I found didn't include the nose pad I needed. As I kept walking through the store hoping they might be stocked elsewhere, I stumbled upon the Target Optical department, complete with an eye doctor and full service optical counter. That's where I met Irish. Irish was absolutely wonderful. She patiently and diligently worked on my glasses, replaced BOTH nose pads, cleaned them thoroughly, tightened and tuned everything up, and honestly made this old pair feel practically brand new again. You know how over time those little parts get dirty, brittle, degraded, and loose? She took the time to carefully restore them instead of rushing me through. What really stood out was her attitude and customer service. She was warm, professional, patient, and genuinely helpful throughout the entire interaction. Irish gave us her full attention and made us feel completely taken care of. Excellent service experiences deserve recognition, and Irish absolutely earned this review. It's always fun to go to Targets in different cities. We came here to charge the cringe Tesla, and we wanted to kill some time. There's a super big parking structure with plenty of parking (on the Friday evening that we went). Super impressive to see this Target from the outside with the escalator and the Bullseye dog statue at the bottom floor. Someone left a shoe box there and he's not the cleanest since he's scuffed, but still cute to look at. There's also an elevator and an escalators and even an escalator for your shopping carts too. Super large and well stocked Target. The Valentine's Day section wasn't ransacked even though it was Valentine's Day itself. Bouquets were cheap and looked really nice too. There's lots of self check out and cashiers, as well as a Starbucks too, pretty standard for most Targets. I found the newly released Monster energy drinks that I have been searching for for months. Not super cheap, but decent price and I'm just happy I found them. They also have a dedicated Disney section which I have never seen outside of the locations near the parks in SoCal, which is really neat. Solid Target location. read more

Not sure why reviews here have gone down in ratings, but I always have a great experience shopping here in downtown Sunnyvale. Public restrooms are right by the stairs/checkout area. The modern setup with huge parking garage is unique/spacious and much better than other Target locations in the area. You can walk up the stairs/use elevator/or escalators. Inside the store is a huge sit in Starbucks with beautiful natural window lighting and great views. You won't find many Target stores with a big and beautiful cute Starbucks for you to hang around inside. There's always plenty of tables and chairs here. Cashiers are helpful if you talk to them. The store's layout is massive/very open and airy to walk around inside. My favorite is usually the household items/groceries/outdoor patio furniture items. There's always a lot of inventories on displays here. Checkout lanes are good/lots of visible lanes to choose from. Target prices on goods and products selections are still very good in this current economy. Not sure if people can feel the value of having a very good Target store in their neighborhoods, but this place doesn't disappoint. You can even walk to downtown Sunnyvale m/AMC theater/Whole Foods/restaurants/etc. I feel very safe walking around here. Best of all, this Target is one of the cleanest of its kind. I came to return something at this Target location. There were two people ahead of me. There were two cashiers working the exchanges and returns. It took a little while, but overall was good. This Target is located upstairs. You take the escalator or elevator up to get to the second floor where everything is located. This Target is nice and clean. The parking lot can get full at times, but I wait for someone to come out and take over their parking spot if they were leaving. I only came to return an item, didn't have time to shop. Service was quick. Getting there was a little tricky but we found the drive up area on the first level in the parking garage. Excited to try this for the first time! Yes, it's for kids but companies tend to make items for kids "cleaner" (paraben and sulfate free etc). I love Aussie products anyway and the smell is divine! read more

The target itself is fine, I do a lot of my errand runs on a weekly basis here but I have an issue with the Starbucks baristas here. Extremely rude and arrogant people, I send my partner here to pick up my drink every week and they're always so mean to him. It made me furious finding out how horrible they're to his face that I had to go to see for myself. Unbelievable! He literally doesn't do anything to provoke that sort of malice so I believe they're just horrible people. There's two ladies (either Latina or white) in particular who are the main culprits, one wears glasses and has a bun usually. I do not understand why you're so arrogant when you literally work at the McDonald's of coffee and this is coming from someone who worked at a corporate Starbucks store from 2019-2022 and worked in third wave/specialty coffee until last year. There is no reason to act this hostile and arrogant towards customers in this setting. I suspect it has to do with racism because my bf is Asian and I'm Latina, they're nicer to me than him. I'm beyond furious that in 2026 in our area we're still dealing with this. Be careful when interacting with these people because it seems like certain people aren't safe or welcomed. Ample parking in the garage. Lots of seasonal items for Fall and Christmas are up now. Decent amount of stock in the beauty aisle but some things not easy to find. For a weekday evening and only having one checkout counter was not well managed. After waiting 10 min another staffer opened a second lane. More staff needed for special purchases (getting items unlocked, promotional gift cards etc). read more

The "accessible" fitting room was not fully accessible. It would fit a wheelchair, but does not have any grab bars by the bench and the only hooks are on the opposite side of the fitting room from the bench, making them useless. The store also does not carry full range of extended size clothes for all brands in store, limiting sales options for plus size shoppers. read more

This is one of the biggest Targets that I've been to. It has a large parking structure, probably to accommodate all the holiday shoppers. It was nice that all of the self checkout lines were open. Good location as it's close to my job and I come here to run errands on lunch if I need too. They have a wide variety of products and great options. One thing they really need to work on is their customer service especially the returns counter. Today was my second time experiencing rude service. The first time it was a young kid, he did not greet me or communicate effectively when processing my refund. Today it was an older lady, she lacked professionalism, had a rude tone when speaking with me, and when I handed her my card, she slide it back to me. I got racist vibes from her. This target can be fairly busy because it's well-located in downtown Sunnyvale - next two Whole Food, AMC, etc. The store itself is raised up above the main connected parking garage. The garage has reserved spots for pickup orders as well as a few Tesla super chargers which tend to be full unless you wait or stop by later at night. If the garage is too tricky for you, just use the second level of the garage across the street (on S Taaffe St). The second floor is meant for Target parking and has a foot bridge directly into the actual level that Target is on. The Target is clean and well organized. A normally sized location. Big Target, bigger than the one I usually go in Foster City. They have Ulta Beauty right inside Target rather than in a different building. More product variety. The interior and isles are spacious. This one is located on the second floor, so it creates some shades for the ground floor parking lots. Really appreciate this idea. read more

Where do I begin around 7 PM at Sunnyvale target was a very bad experience for my family and I and the community that was around. It started off with this individual who was apparently the manager named Jamie was being mean to customers over Pokémon, whether that was people who were just trying to pass in the aisle, whether that was older people and even kids she was so stressed out about Pokémon she was being mean to everybody. There was another worker named Jenna, who was yelling at people to get in line just because they're passing an aisle. My mom was one of those people, and she was the only person who stood up to Jamie yelling and for those reasons Jamie wanted to kick her out out of the store, pulling the shopping cart with my little sister, right there crying about her shopping cart. Then me and my sister who are in line for Pokémon is recording, so is half of the line. She looks up at us and uses her power as manager to say you know what you guys wanna get kicked out too when it's in our very right to record when we are feeling harassed or once we see someone who is and then she goes running to us making and demanding us to delete our video she is front of my face super close. Every individual in line saw and was recording her because she got so close to my face. It's sad to see her yelling at people including kids over cards when they were doing nothing wrong just asking her simple questions as why is their a line. please protect your kids from this individual. She doesn't care about any rules of respecting the customers because she is manager so hold onto your kids tight because she will just go up to them or telling them to go away. I am not a violent person so for her to go up to my face, I was really scared for my life. It was not OK for Jamie and Jenna to yell at people, especially people who didn't even know what was going on in the aisle and just need to pass by. And what was really sad with the team leader was doing the same thing as well. Her name is Betty instead of being nice to customers they yelled at them. Like I said, please be aware of these individuals. They have no shame on talking to a customers, however, and ruining a nice shopping time with your family. We were scared of her so we stopped recording and whoever was in line and recorded her please send us your video. We're taking this seriously. read more

I had not been to a Target store in over a year because of how trashed they always looked. It always looked like they were in a holiday sales recovery mode. I went this week. Everything was off the floor on the shelf or on hangers hanging on a rack. There was no danger of tripping in the aisles and the atmosphere was pleasant. Today I had a very strange experience at Target. I went to the self-service checkout and paid with a gift card. The machine indicated that the payment was not valid, so I asked for help and an associate came over. She helped me check out with my gift card, and after that she gave me the receipt but took the gift card and said the card would no longer be valid. I was confused because I didn't think that was the case, so I asked her to double-check the balance on the gift card. She asked why, saying it shouldn't be usable anymore. I was sure there was still a balance on it, so I insisted she check it and print me the receipt. She went to another register, checked the balance, and it showed that I still had over $33 on the gift card. Was she trying to take my gift card??? read more

With all this technology that we have, I can not believe what's on sale is not in their system. Cashier tried his best to charge me $44 for both boxes that I had. Came to buy an electric toothbrush. The one I wanted was behind a locked case. There was an employee putting product away next to me. I got her attention, pointed at what I wanted, and she gave me a blank stare and somehow communicated that she doesn't speak English and was unable or unwilling to help. Wouldn't even call someone. Went to the kiosk and requested help for an item in a locked case. After a few minutes the message said unable to find an associate to assist. Absolutely terrible customer service. I'm very disappointed that this location does not sell TLB. My favorite black owned brand of lips sticks. When I asked they said they don't have it and they used to. As a fan of this brand I have not seen it from the day Target announced that they are selling it. It's unfortunate that I have to go to the Target in East Palo Alto to purchase my favorite lipsticks because they refuse to sell or promote this brand here at Sunnyvales Target. The parking lot is on the first floor and the store is on the top floor. Everything felt really modern and clean and well lit. Service here is terrible. Little high school kids running the departments. Literally had to search for someone to call another person. That person proceeds to walk by us without any identification showing to identify herself as a staff member. I again had to flag someone down meanwhile there is a staff member with a name tag on shopping in the makeup section but she's on break so she can't help. Fast forward the same girl came back without identification and I asked for assistance. She could care less and was fast to say we don't have in stock. Then she walks over to the worker on her break and they started talking shit about us while we were literally standing there. "What did they want" said the girl on her break. Visited around 9pm on a Saturday and it was really crowded. We were shopping through the clothing section and the store was kinda messy. They were also out of stock in a few items that we were looking at. Parking was a nightmare, with lots of cars backed up. (And a car almost hit me as I walked into the store?) The escalator was a nice touch, but this Target gets really busy and hectic. I prefer the Target near me on Landess bc lines are usually shorter around this time and it's less stressful. If I may toot my own horn, I'm something of a Target connoisseur. The change in management over the past decade has been extremely beneficial to customer service. They let go of the general manager a few years ago and fired many of the more trollish Target representatives. Hence the two stars. read more

This is a nice store to shop at but today, I was quite disappointed by the services that we received. At around 1pm on a Saturday, there was a noticeable wait time for someone to come unlock a facial lotion cabinet after we rang the bell. By the time that the employee showed up, there were three different customers waiting to get help. We purchased a few items that were being discounted for Circle members. I punched in my phone number and asked if it went through. The cashier said yes. But upon checking the receipt, it appears that the discount had not been applied. When we pointed this out to the cashier, she asked us to go to customer service for help. So we ended getting in another line for customer service. All the while I was thinking to myself whether this is worth my time. The cashier had no other customer to attend to at this point but did not help us with the problem that she helped to create. After getting home, I noticed that the receipt asked me to take a survey to help Target run better. I thought I'd provide some feedback. We were there yesterday and the customer service was HORRIBLE. I had brought my own bags for my items . The clerk piled all my items up for me to bag, he said nothing, he just left them there in a mess . I don't mind bagging my items myself that's fine but the way he just dumped everything there and said nothing was very unprofessional. My brother was visiting and was with me. He paid for bags he didn't receive and had to ask for them. My brother was shocked at how rude and unprofessional he was. Mid transaction with me (I was asking him a question about my gift cards and the balance) he starts ringing up the person behind me in line- AND MY ITEMS WERE STILL IN A BIG PILE. I really liked this store. It has shady parking, nice people, and a great selection. Today, however, I noticed that they've surpassed even Safeway at the fine art of egregious price gouging.
