a bowl of salad with tortillas and tortillas

I love the decor when you walk in this place. Bright colors and fun designs. Like a cute surf shop but with food. They have TVs with surfing videos. Turquoise, yellows, orange. Fun, fun, fun. Order at the counter. Burritos, bowls, burgers. Go down the line and tell them the ingredients and when you get to the end you simply pay for your order and then find a seat. I ordered the sweet pork with retried beans, pico de gallo, lettuce, guacamole, and a cilantro ranch dressing. Yum yum. All topped onto a flour tortilla. I ate about half and took the rest home for a second meal.

Lunch was flavorful but strangely my salad was extremely wet. I didn't get rice or beans and it tasted like my lettuce had recently been washed with water but didn't have time to dry. By the end my salad tortilla had 1/4 inch of really wet water-like juice sloshing around.

We have always been avid Cafe Rio customers, however, Cafe Rio's quality and cleanliness has degraded over the years while Costa Vida (no matter the location) is consistent in their quality and cleanliness. Because of this, we have now switched to being avid Costa Vida fans! It's nice to know that whenever I go to a Costa Vida, I can expect it to be clean, the food to be fresh, and the drinks to be stocked. We love their house-made lemonades and horchata. The only thing that we wish for is a less expensive kid option. I feel like $0.75 a $1.00 is a much more fair price for the tiny kid's al a carte cheese quesadilla rather than $1.49. It adds up quick for our family when we bring so many little ones but despite that, it is still a very kid-friendly place to eat.

The service was extremely fast despite the fact that there were so many people there for date night on Valentines Day! The food was delicious and I'm very impressed with how quickly the manager was able to be on top of things. I know firsthand how stressful it can be on a busy night and there are less experienced workers there. Good job, guys!

Over $10 for a small nacho with barely any cheese luckily I bought extra queso. They keep getting worse as time goes on guess I'll try cafe rio.

When we came to the register they offered us a free dessert to apologize for the prior customers situation.
