Panda Express is a guilty pleasure. Some cities have decent Panda Express locations. Other cities are lacking a little bit. As for the Spanish Fork Panda Express location, I think they do a pretty solid job! First, is there some kind of contest going on with the city to see who can design the worst parking lot? If so, can I nominate this one? There are some pretty rough parking lots in the area but I can give a plethora of reasons why this one should take the cake. For one, the drive through splits through the middle of the lot. This means, 87% of the people that park in the Panda Express parking lot, will be trapped in the lot for longer than they want to be. When we have went to this Panda Express location, it has always been popping. Good news, you can park in the Department of Workforce Services lot! Just kidding, no you can't. There are signs that threaten some kind of punishment if you do so. Getting in and out of this parking lot is like playing ring around the rosey but it's not nearly as fun as I remember it. It's more of a stand off and a bunch of Austin Powers' 97 point turns. In the times that I have visited this Panda Express, it has always been super busy and the line has been at the door. Honestly, I am a bit confused on how the line is supposed to be set up. Some people go through the doors to the right, other people hang out in the foyer, in line. The good news is, the line always goes by incredibly fast. I like their chow mein and their fried rice, but I typically like the fried rice more. The last time I got the fried rice, it was a bit chunky. I love that we can get 1/2 and 1/2 as an option. I always get the orange chicken, but if I had an all-time favorite, I would get the beyond orange chicken. I am so sad they took it away and I would be so happy if they brought it back. It was out of this world good. This Panda Express location does a great job saucing up the chicken and it was pretty great last time I had it. All in all, this is a pretty good Panda Express spot. They are great about putting the "express" in Panda Express and I have never had any issues. This is a great, quick spot in the area! read more

I found the employees friendly and seemed to be working as hard as they can. I would not suggest ordering through the app. I had a miserably long wait. I arrived at the time quoted by the app, went through the drive through to pick up. They said it's not ready, go park in front. 15 minutes later, nothing. Go inside. Wait. It was just under 1 hour from ordering on the app to getting my food. Meanwhile the staff is keeping up with the drive through orders. Mine took forever. Honestly the app makes the experience so much worse. Just order at the drive through or at the counter because the app orders get pushed aside or forgotten. Imagine waiting almost an hour for Panda. We have had several terrible experiences at this location. They constantly forget items in our order and they're SO slow! I like the food but their service is horrible! Today we ordered through the drive thru and the food wasn't ready. They told us to park anywhere in their lot. They didn't ask our name so, how would they know where the order was supposed to go? This location is literally the worst. Not only is the parking lot layout awful, but the inside does not have enough seating. So every time I've come here I can't even sit and eat inside. In general, they have good hot food, and good attentive staff. Their drive-through's situation, though, leaves a lot to be desired! Today I went in to their drive-through, and ordered just two entrées, and a side of super greens. They have to make the super greens fresh every time, which is understandable, so they asked me to pull forward into the parking stall and stop for five minutes. That is how long it takes to make. Super greens, five minutes. After waiting in my car for 13 minutes, I walked inside and ask them what the situation was. The lady has two bags that she's walking out to cars with, and I asked her if one is mine. She says no, even after I showed her my receipt. Then, five minutes later, she walks back in, and sure enough, it was my food. If they are going to have people pull into a parking spot, then there should be a priority. Today we ordered in the drive thru. They tell us at the window that some items will need to be cooked. So we pull around front. 20 minutes later still waiting so we go inside. Nobody will give us eye contact. We then see them scooping fresh food into a huge catered order. We then get someone's attention and after some difficulty they give us our order and then as I'm walking out the cashier yells at my wife saying we have to pay for our order. We show them the receipt that we already payed and they throw it in our face and say we can go. We've had problems here before but we thought we'd give them the benefit of the doubt and try again. I have lived in the Spanish Fork/Salem area for over 15 years. I remember how excited we were when we learned they were going to put in a Walmart and a Panda Express!! My family and I would frequent the new restaurant often, when it first opened. Now, I rarely go to it and will try to never go to it if possible. I know the store makes a lot of money compared to other stores, so I guess the owner is "living large" on the profits. Maybe that is why he/she doesn't care about customer relationships. I'm assuming the poor service to online customers is coming from his/her philosophy. As someone who values his time, I have preordered many times at this establishment. Many times I come in and wait for over 30 minutes to get my food. I hadn't been for awhile but decided to give this restaurant another chance last night. I preordered over an hour ahead of time. The place was packed with customers both inside and in the drive thru, this is common for 5pm on a Friday night. There were at least 10 customers waiting in the online line. I knew immediately it was going to happen again. After wading through everyone, I gave the worker my name. As I stepped back into a place in "line," more like a huddled mass, I asked how long others had been waiting. One woman told me she had already been there 10 minutes. It was frustrating watching the line for customers making their orders in the restaurant go through many people while our line only got one person served in the same time. On a previous visit I had asked a worker if it was wiser to preorder or just show up. She said priority was given to the drive thru then the other customers. I remembered this, but thought, no, preorder has to be faster! I was wrong. I don't blame the workers so much, this is a system failure. I have asked many people if this seems logical, to make preorders the last priority, and nay a one has said, yes that is logical. I would love to hear what the owner's philosophy is on this matter. On a side note, the woman I had conversed with said, "I'm not a person who gets nasty very often, but I'm about to here if I don't get my food soon!" She also said she would never frequent this store again. When my order had arrived she was still waiting. I pity the fool serving her if she went off. OK it was Chinese New Year's we didn't want to travel far and away the choice between this place another place within our community. The other place would've brought in a lot of unpredictability and sometimes overly greasy, sometimes questionable food.While this place is predictable Yet not terribly exciting with most of its product coming pre-cooked and just reheated on site. Perhaps we chose the lesser of two evils, but I'm not so sure. Preprocess predictability has it's limits especially when search by group of teenagers.At least this location doesn't reuse the grease over and over again as her other place in town tends to do. And I thought the DMV was the worst. if you're picking up a Panda meal via online order, discard the "express." Rather, expect lost time... time you could have spent on the toilet reading meaningful magazines, or getting a cavity filled. Here's my recent experience with Panda in Spanish Fork, Utah. Almost identical to another experience from several months ago. 1) Ordered online. 2) 18 min later, I arrive to pick up per recommendation from the app. 3) Waited another 30 minutes to get food. 4) During that wait, I asked what's the reason for the wait. They said because they ran out of chow mien. 5) But when the chow mien was brought to the line, they just served everyone up who were waiting in the line. So the dish would just keep getting emptied. 6) I pressed them a second time. They said they ran out of Kung Pao, Again, every time they cooked up a new batch, they would serve it to everyone in the line. 7) Pressed them a third time. They said, the reason why you can get food quicker if you just come in is because "you can see what they have available." Huh? Biden moment? My total time from when I ordered was nearly 50 minutes. The first time this happened several months back, I waited 65 total minutes. Honestly, if you're hungry go somewhere else to eat. I ordered online and arrived late to give them extra time and when I told them I was there for pick up they said "ok we'll get that ready for you". It wasn't very busy, which meant that they chose to wait til I got there to get it ready for me. Strike 1. What's the point of ordering online if you still have to wait for it? When I got home, I found that they got the orders wrong and I live too far away to just go back. Strike 2. Strike 3 was when I found a fried peanut in the orange chicken I didn't order. I'm not allergic, but I'm super thankful that I got it and not somebodies but allergic child! It looked like an orange chicken but and could have killed someone. Arrived 7:00PM Saturday night to find the dining room closed, an incredibly long line for the drive through and a paper on the order board listing the few items available (no shrimp). Finally got to the window and asked what was happening and the girl said "understaffed". On a Saturday evening! During my wait in line I saw countless unhappy families try to enter the restaurant and fail. I live about a half hour away and am wondering what will happen the next time I want Panda Express. Will they only have limited items? Will the drive-thru be the only ordering option? Will they even be open? I can't imagine this won't adversely affect their business. When doing drive thru, I've come to expect the order to be wrong somehow, so I either check it before leaving or order something I don't mind getting messed up. Great place to grab a meal before you head to the movies! I've been to this panda several times now. The first few times there was a bit of a wait, but that was to be expected considering it's brand new and there was a very visible line. Went for lunch today and was in and out quickly The staff have been friendly each time and when it was my turn to be served I got right through the line. My wife and I went to Panda Express today at 12:00 for lunch time. In the past, we've loved this location but today once we received our food. Everything we got, which was the honey walnut shrimp, sweet fire chicken breast, rice and noodles were ALL cold! We couldn't even finish our food because it had tasted as if it had been sitting out for a few hours. They open up at 10:00 everyday and everything they serve should be warm by then! I like food at panda but the service at this location is so horrible it ruins the experience and makes me not want to go back. I have been here 3 times in the past month and every time they get my order wrong. Today I had to remind them that they forgot our drinks only to get home and realize they had forgotten a bunch of other items too, yet for some reason our bag was packed with chili sauce (which we didn't order). Have someone stand outside to take orders, like at chick-fil-a, if employees inside can't get the order correct through the speaker. We ordered online for pickup and got a pickup time which should have been easy, right? Nope. I went in just ahead of the scheduled time and asked about my order. They hadn't even looked at it until I asked. They proceeded to start my order but told me that it would be a few minutes since they had run out of chow mein. This is my updated review. I amazed at how much better my most recent experience was at this location. The restaurant was packed but the service was quick and the staff was friendly. My wife and I both got meals. We tried 4 different entrees and they were all very good. I'm moving my review from a 1 star to a 5 star.
