I used to love China Wok, but apparently they changed hands and now the food is awful.

They give a lot food, however... it isn't the freshest. Their shrimp was soggy and tasted like it was bad/spoiled. CHECK YOUR RECIEPTS ‼ She over charged me over $20, I had to go back to the counter and calculate with her ‍ in my Opinion? I think they do that more often then customers realize. read more

We tried the spring rolls, vegetable fried rice, and the beef mei fun. Everything was very bland and I expected both dishes to have more veggies. We didn't finish any of our meals. I called ahead and asked how long the wait would be for a takeout order. The lady working said it would be 25 minutes, but we had to wait an extra 20 minutes beyond that. The food is definitely not worth the wait. The space inside is tiny, they have a couple small tables that are nicely decorated, but with the steady flow of people I wouldn't want to sit down and eat here. People picking up food would be standing over you as you ate. The lady working behind the counter was very nice though. read more

When it comes to family owned Chinese Food, China Wok had been around in Spanish Fork for years and their family has continued to run it to this day, they're super friendly, super quick, and the quality of the food never once varies from when you previously experienced it. They got a system there, and it just works! One of my favorite childhood spots, and even as an adult it's still one of my go to choices. read more

I'm not sure where the good reviews are coming from, maybe from people that have never actually been inside or had decent Chinese food. It is definitely a mostly take out place with very limited seating and all the utensils, plates, cups, and napkins were disposable. They even served our wonton soup in a small plastic sauce container. Wontons were thick and doughy with little meat. Chicken was very dry and everything tasted like it was cooked in the same old/used oil. Customer service is poor because they are busy taking phone orders. It's grimey and a bit dirty inside with dated decor and a picture with broken glass on the wall. All that could maybe be forgiven if the food was halfway decent, but it wasn't. You're better off going to Panda Express. It's less expensive and better quality. I usually like to find one redeeming thing to say but unfortunately I can't. read more

This usually hits the spot when I want Chinese, but I was really disappointed tonight. I ordered takeout and made the mistake of not checking the food before I got home. I ordered Szechuan Beef and cream cheese wontons. I received beef with mixed vegetables and some burnt wontons stuffed with what I can only guess was some kind of jerky. Not the sweet bite I was looking forward to. The fried rice was extremely pale tonight, too. A $40 disappointment. Gave 2 stars because when they get it right, its decent. read more

This was pretty good! The Lo Mein was rich, moist, and full of flavor. Reminded me of Lo Mein I used to get outside of NYC. I also ordered the pork egg rolls. They were good but nothing great to talk about. The "teriyaki chicken" was not teriyaki chicken. It was chicken on a skewer with some kind of sauce. But it was NOT teriyaki chicken! Teriyaki chicken is moist with a slowly thickened teriyaki sauce coated and grilled onto the chicken. Sticky. Still haven't had good teriyaki chicken since leaving the Pacific Northwest. Wow. This was the most disappointing Chinese food I've ever had. Nothing personal against the staff, but would you eat your own food here? The General Tso chicken was the driest, puniest, excuse for chicken I've ever had anywhere. I mean, there was NO CHICKEN in it. It was like 90% batter and 10% tendons or something. And it tasted like it was triple deep fried. Even the rice tasted 4 days old! How do you screw up rice!!! WTH!! Now all I'm left with is a stomach ache! Can't believe I didn't ask for a refund. First time visiting. Positives: extremely friendly lady working the front desk. Excellent customer service. Provided an estimate of 10-15 minutes until it was ready and it came in 10 minutes. Negative: the flavor/quality of food was pretty sub par. The noodles and rice that came with the sweet and sour chicken were very plain and the sauce for the chicken was too runny/thin. When my mother would bring home China Wok for dinner we would be the happiest family of all time! Everything that we have tried from China Wok is delicious. We love their rice, sweet and sour chicken, beef and broccoli, and their mushroom chicken. After an exhaustive search for the best Chinese take-out in the UtCo, we have officially landed on China Wok. I totally agree that this place is take-out only, because their dining area consists of about one-and-a-half tables placed awkwardly in the front where those getting take-out gather to pick up and pay. I've seen it happen, but I would never eat-in here. The people running this tiny joint are typical for this type of biz - fast, efficient, semi-friendly, and straight to the point. It's my preference, to be honest. I don't need over the top service for take-out. What I do need is great food, which is ready when they say it will be, at a fair price. CW provides all the above. Chinese food is so much a matter of personal preference. My household loves customizable spice levels, and no MSG. Menu staples are critical - ham fried rice, hot & sour soup, cream cheese wontons, lo mein, etc., and CW does it all right. The highlights for me are their lo mein (great noodles, appropriately dressed up however you want), Lemon Chicken (see more on this below), anything in their Garlic Sauce (chance to amp up that spice level!), and the Cherry Chicken (a chef's special). A couple of menu notes: first, I want to note that the Lemon Chicken does NOT consist of 3 chicken breasts like another reviewer stated. It's one larger chicken breast cut into several pieces, breaded, lightly fried, and comes with an absolutely delicious lemon sauce. I love that they package your sauces separately for take-out, so they don't sog up your food. Same with the Cherry Chicken. I love their lo mein, and their fried rice choices. We've tried them all, and they're all fantastic. You can't go wrong no matter your taste. They're open on Sundays - hooray! They're open on Christmas, New Year's and every other major US holiday. They're open for lunch, and late for dinner. And they don't overcharge for their food - it's all very reasonable. Don't be afraid of the exterior. It's one of those hidden strip-mall gems that looks pretty questionable from the outside. Even the interior isn't inviting or pretty. It's not the very best Chinese food I've had. This was one of the worst Chinese food meals I have ever had. I ordered Salt and Pepper chicken and House Special Mei Fun. The Salt and Pepper chicken was palatable but nothing special. The side order of noodles that came with the chicken dish were spaghetti noodles that had some brown sauce that simply colored the noodles. There was no flavor at all. The House Special Mei Fun were clear rice noodles that were supposed to have shrimp, chicken and pork meat along with stir fried veggies. The noodles had a faint flavor of maybe some type of Chinese 5-spice, 5 small to medium shrimp, 5-6 very small pieces of chicken and 5-6 thin strips of tough pork meat and maybe a 1/4 cup of veggies dispersed throughout. This meal was a waste of money. I could have bought a better meal out of the freezer section of the grocery store. read more

I come here regularly for lunch. Not expensive but no room if you plan on eating there. They do not have a soda fountain so if you are buying a soda expect a can. The food is always good. I have tried everything on the lunch menu. Some things are just ok, while other items tend to be pretty good. Pros: Pretty basic, better than most other spots in town, ok price, clean. I placed a big order the other night and was quite pleased. Some of the cheaper items ($6-7 plates) had a lot of vegetables in them, but that's kind of expected. The orange and sesame chicken were great. We also liked the sweet and sour pork a lot and I am a big fan of the mu shoo pork. My first time going and I had expected better from the reviews. I have been to the place in the Provo mall and the place on main in Springville and the reviews had indicated this would be better than those. Not so for me. The ham fried rice and vegetable (if you are expecting veggies, you will be disappointed...tiny pieces and not much) fried rice was dry and not very flavorful. The chicken lo mien (see pic) was mostly spaghetti noodles in sauce, the chicken and vegetable pieces were so tiny as to be almost non existent! The orange chicken pieces were tough and mostly breading with not much chicken. I went craving Chinese and was so so disappointed! On a redeeming note, the lemon chicken dish I can recommend! It it is batter fried white chicken breast filets on a bed of lettuce and the lemon sauce to put over it is delicious! The cream cheese wontons were good as well. read more

We order take out from this place regularly and they have never let us down. Hands down the best dishes are the General Tso and Lemon Chicken, unbelievable! Our friends from Salt Lake county request this place all the time when they come to visit. The Lemon Chicken is especially great - the order comes with about 3 flattened chicken breasts (not pieces) that has a really light breading on a bed of shredded cabbage with the lemon sauce on the side. The sweet and sour chicken was OK - a carton that looked like popcorn chicken -- sauce was ok. The chicken chow mein was watery and lacked flavor and felt slimy. Very few fresh vegetables. China Wok has the best Chinese food in our area. They are quick, 10 to 15 mins. They are super friendly and almost everything I have tried I love. General Tso is my favorite. The sauce has a BBQ flavor. I also enjoy their Chicken with Garlic Sauce, the China Wok Roll, cheese wontons and Beef with Broccoli. I have been to other local Chinese resturants and while they maybe good I still like China Wok the best. Great value. One order will feel two of us.
