Stumbled onto this restaurant as we were in Spanish Fork on an errand and it took too long so by the time we finished, we were starving! Good thing we found this place - this is by far one of the best (hole in the wall) Chinese food in Utah County! We ordered: honey walnut shrimp, lo mein noodles, Mongolian beef, and war won ton soup. The honey walnut shrimp is (almost) as good as the one we had in California (Cali having the best of the best variety of food)! Mongolian beef was on point with the flavor - was mouth watering, left me wanting for more. This is very much a location that is comfort food. People have been here for decades, and go back because they used to go here as a kid. Once again, I think there are two reviews. One for the buffet, that is mediocre at best. I end up eating a couple of items and walking away from the rest, it is just not worth the way I feel afterward. However the night meals are spot on. Items that are not on the menu for the buffet. Fresh and well cooked. The service is better than as well. The buffet room is just kind of dirty and old, while the other part that we eat in during the evening is nicer. In all, the buffet is a 2 star, and the regular dinner is a 4 star. read more

My boyfriend and I had dinner here the other night. Our waiter was saying I was beautiful and would make "mmm" sounds after he would repeatedly call me pretty and beautiful. He would look at me and make those sounds and it was all so uncomfortable. He also said I had "skinny legs" and looked at my boyfriend and said, "it makes it a lot better!" The curry chicken was in a thick and tasty coconut curry sauce. I went on 3pm on a Saturday, and there was nobody else eating in even though the store accommodates for tons of people. As a introvert that hates crowded places, it was the best for me and my spouse to just sit down and not have to worry about anyone else and their lack of consideration for anyone else around them. Food is fantastic here. Love the sesame beef but everything else I have eaten here in other visits has been good as well. Their delivery service is also fast and food is always hot as long as you call directly and not through a food delivery app. This is only one of a very few places o would not recommend using a delivery service such as DoorDash or Uber eats. Only because they do the best job themselves. The also offer in dining and take out. The dining room is dated and could use a freshen up but don't let that stop you from trying this place. Lucky 5. I've been coming here since 2008. Price has slowly gone up. It's now more like Lucky 9. The buffet at lunch is pretty good, but refreshing their food doesn't happen enough. The Good: They now have fresh watermelon and cantalope. They have some asian type cookies coconut and a light and cripy type. I recommend the seseame chicken, crab rangoons, pot stickers, hot and sour soup which all have a very good flavor. The Bad: The noodles and rice get a little dry when they've sat too long. Sweet and sour chicken is decent, but not so sour. The brocoli beef is soggy and the beef is flavorless. The general sao chicken lacks spicyness which is why you eat it. Overall some of the food has a lack of flavor, but to offer a buffet from 11a-2p Mon-Fri for $8.35 ($9 w/tax) including a fountain drink isn't half bad. Good food, large portions. I had the General Tso's chicken on the recommendation of the waitress, although it definitely was NOT spicy as she indicated. I got it as a combo, which included soup, two fried shrimp, (I think) fried rice and an eggroll. I also got an order of the cream cheese wontons. The wontons were a mistake because I had so much food, I ended up only eating a couple of them. The wonton soup was delicious, the eggroll, not so much. I just love this place! Family owned business, so that's a plus. You can always find the owners in the place and you're always welcomed warmly. Prices are good for the plates you get with a great menu selection. My favs are the spicy orange beef, general's chicken and the lemon chicken. For soup, I usually select the spicy one, but the egg drop and won-ton soups are delicious too. Drinks are never empty, and the waitresses/waiters check on you just often enough. The buffet... the best deal in town for your dollar! It's around $7 and includes a drink with an all you can eat selection of the best of their menu.... including soups, appetizers and deserts. The restaurant is always clean and food is always presented well. I've book this place a handful of times for company parties and they accommodated large groups easily. I haven't had any honey walnut shrimp that was made the way they made it, but I enjoyed it. It was a little more expensive than it should've been. We also got vegetable fried rice. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! I went in to dinner tonight with my Son. We ordered the Hot & Sour Soup and Fried Wontons for appetizers. The Hot & Sour soup was barely Luke warm and are bowls looked like they were used already. It was hard to eat because of the temperature and the constant worry of the dirty bowl. The Wontons were DISGUSTING!!! They were SO OVERCOOKED AND GROSS!! They had an awful smell and we couldn't tell what was inside. Our main dishes: We both ordered the Kung Pao Chicken with Ham fried rice, instead of steamed white rice. Let me tell you how it all went down: Our waitress was sweeping the lobby and changing garbages in the bathroom, then back to sweeping, THEN....our bell rings for our food is Ready, she drops her broom and gets our food, brings out our food with her Dirty ass thumbs on our plates, touching the food. I couldn't believe it, I said to her "did u wash your hands?" She said her hands should be clean. I said, you just dropped the broom 2 seconds ago before getting our food. She said "oh, um...enjoy your meal". IT WAS THE WORST KUNG PAO CHICKEN I HAVE EVER EATEN!!! DISGUSTING AND NO FLAVOR, barely warm. There were like 5 small pieces of chicken & a mountain of veggies and peanuts that had no flavor at all!!! Don't listen to the other reviews that liked it! I called just now and the owner picked up the phone, I explained to her what happened and told her about the food and her staff and that I did not want a refund, but wanted her to know what I felt after eating there and watching our waitress put her dirty cleaning hands in our food. The owner just listened and said anything else? I said no that's it, and waited for an answer, then I hear a si and she hangs up on me! Crazy! Way to care about your failing restaurant. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! Go to any Chinese restaurant, but not LUCKY 5! I will NEVER BE BACK. I will refer everyone I know to somewhere else. A word of Advice to the Owners, take pride in your restaurant and the way it's ran. My husband and I just recently moved to Spanish Fork and were looking for a local place to eat. I found Lucky 5 on Yelp and we thought we'd try it out. We were pleasantly surprised! We ordered the Chef's Suggestion dinner with Singapore Noodles and Sesame chicken. Our meal came with soup, fried shrimp and dumplings. I got the Wonton soup and it was really good! My husband ate the shrimp and I ate the dumplings. They were fried to perfection and super tasty! Then our entrees were delivered. The Singapore Noodles were our favorite; thin noodles cooked with chicken, pork and eggs (normally with shrimp too, but we had them put it on the side). They had a curry-like flavor that we liked. The sesame chicken wasn't bad, but it was a bit too sweet for our tastes. It was crispy and hot, it just tasted a little bit like maple syrup. The service was great and prompt. Our drinks were never empty, we were checked on several times, and were recommended what dishes we should try. We'll definitely be dining there again and are looking forward to trying some of the other entrees. read more
