I discovered this establishment while visiting the Lofton Hotel on the evening of a WNBA Lynx playoff game. I sat at the bar and the staff were incredible - I was just looking for a quick bite and the shiitake croquettes were perfect. Very crispy and filled with mushroomy potatoey goodness. They were toppped with a micro cilantro that was a nice contrast to the fried croquettes. There are lots of other tasty and interesting dishes on the menu. Definitely leaps and bounds above the average hotel bar/restaurant.

Egg white breakfast sandwhich with roasted potatoes Really good, $11

Our waitress was very fast and super helpful. All food was really good. The OJ was expensive, and I was thinking it would be fresh squeezed to be $8. Other than that, wonderful experience. I had a negative experience with hotel from them not subtracting our breakfast comps for that meal but I won't put that towards this restaurant.

We celebrated my birthday here and it was fantastic! Great service, delicious food, and relaxing atmosphere.

Food was wonderful! Very quiet place, however the service was not great. There was usually 2-3 servers working and the restaurant was never busy. Last night we were the only ones in the entire restaurant and we were left waiting to order drinks for 15 minutes. Everytime we went to get breakfast we had to wait forever for someone to help us. They would help other tables and ignore us. Super weird. Room service was better and always came super fast, I would recommend that over going to the restaurant because they are not attentive.

Beef pho soup - Chef's tasting
Roz B.

The chef's tasting was one of the best food experiences we've ever had. Given we spent six years in San Francisco with amazing restaurants that says a lot. Between Will pairing the most perfect wines with every course, to sous chefs Jeremiah and Laura curating the most flavorful and unique dishes, everything about the night was so wonderful. The chef's tasting is done in the kitchen so you have access to the chef's as they cook. It starts with the chef's talking with you about your likes and dislikes with them. Then they design your menu based on your discussion. We will be doing this at least once a year. Highly recommend if you are looking for a fun and adventurous food experience.

Dinner at Cosmos is an experience. Unlike many hotel restaurants, Cosmos serves up ambiance, excellent food, and great service for an all-around wonderful dinner. They start dinner by providing a delicious amuse-bouche, bring out a tasty juice palate-cleanser "shot" in the middle, and end the evening with a lovely chocolate truffle. And that's on top of what you actually order. The wait staff are very knowledgable and friendly, which adds to the feel of an upscale dining experience. I love how clever the chef gets with the rotating menu options and have never had a dish I didn't thoroughly enjoy. Try the tasting menu, which changes frequently. You won't be disappointed. Cosmos is one of the best fine dining restaurants in the Twin Cities and should not be missed!

Chilean Sea Bass Ceviche, oh my!

Oh my goodness gracious, I never expected this fare upon my first trip to the fine city of Minneapolis. Nothing was spared, exquisite is damn appropriate verbiage, and it can easily compare and surpass any upper crustie hangout in Seattle. We shared a plethora of appetizers to start - ...well, actually I had a Bombay Sapphire with extra lime to start, heh. Ahi Tuna Tartare, Wagyu Beef & Maryland Crab Cakes. The Ahi was foodgasmic, rich and savory, yet the fish was sweet. I'm not fan of crab, but loved the seasoning of these crab cakes. And Wagyu beef prepped like this should be as illegal as street drugs. Dizzying. Then salad: I had the Chilean Sea Bass Ceviche. It tickled my palate, and wasn't as tart as some I have had, so I could still taste the fish in a pleasant way, crisp & delectable. I felt inclined to share - only a little however. We then moved on after a sorbet to cleanse away taste I actually did not want to go away... yes, we ate more.... Angus Tenderloin. Knives can be excused. Buttery Bovine perfection. My friend poked me, as I apparently closed my eyes to let it play a round of pro Canadian curling with my tastebuds. She assumed I was asleep sitting up, with beef in my mouth. Dummy. We then moved onto dessert, and tho I said no as to not pass out, I partook of friend's dishes. Helllooo APPLE. Sinful spoonful of heaven to finish the meal. Both wait staff we had were professional, fun, QUICK and knowledgeable. We requested the chef come out so we could fawn over him, and he complimented us back with a chocolate array. And the poster re: the restrooms is right. The last time I saw organic materials used in interior space so beautifully was at a resort in Bali. Nothing was left untouched for your five senses here. Luckily I had a marshmallow bed to land in 4 floors above me in the Graves601 as I should not have driven after the Cosmos experience.

Five stars for excellent service, vegan options from Herbivorus Butcher, wild mushrooms and decent cocktails! For a Friday it was not very busy between 5-7:00 so we want to get the word out that this place has really has it all. Cosmos is on the 4th floor of the Lowe hotel in downtown Mpls. It isn't well marked from the street or even inside the hotel. The chef has his own foraging company and as a wild-crafter I was pleased with his *real* wild mushrooms that were very fresh! Delicious fall treat! Only thing I would change is having a vegan dessert option. We will be back! Tip: if you have special dietary needs tell the staff at the beginning to avoid freebies that are not in your diet being brought to your table. Nice touch if you don't have diet restrictions.

Vegan charcuterie plate!

More people need to know about this restaurant, especially vegans and vegetarians. Don't let the fact that this restaurant is in a hotel scare you away. They have a great menu with creative veggie options that changes seasonally. In addition to fresh salads, you can get a changing assortment of vegan meats and cheeses from Herbivorous Butcher as part of a vegan charcuterie plate. It's a great way to sample HBs stuff without dropping big bucks at the shop. They also feature HB meat-free meat in a well curated dish. My husband had the vegan short ribs with succotash and I had a very nice pea risotto. It's becoming of our favorite places, being one of the few places to have an upscale vegetarian dining experience in Minneapolis. Service is great and there is free valet when eating at the restaurant.

Cosmos is located inside the Lowes Hotel(the old Graves Hotel). I liked that they have complimentary valet parking for eating at the restaurant. It's a very nice quiet place to dine. The waiters were really nice, but he could not remember what we all ordered and had to come back to ask us again. And while everyone's dinner was served they made a "mistake" on mine so it came out later then everyone's which meant I ate by myself while everyone had finished their meals. I'm sure they forgot my order!!!! Was not happy about that and I asked for medium and it looked more like medium rare! Regardless, I still are it but I didn't like the mushroom or carrots that they had with the dish. It wasn't good. Overall, the people there were nice, the place is very nice but food was not all that. I wasn't satisfied my first impression there.

Everytime I've tried something here, I get a stomach ache for couple days, especially their old tasting desserts. 1st time stomach I thought it was just a fluke. Third try & 3 stomach aches later from the same place here & you're out of my books lol. Never again, No clue how this place has any business. I'm so glad more places have opened up in NL. Especially the Bellecour restaurant, the desserts there are 1000x better than the days tasting old crap that is served here at SnS. The interior is gorgeous, however, the entire establishment is a 0/10. I would not recommend this place to anyone. What an embarrassment this place is serving bad food to patrons. I recommend spending money at Porzana, Bar La Grassa, Bellecour... anywhere but here. This place is a joke for food. So embarrassing!

The setting that made the experience always so special, before they move to their residency inside the Guthrie Theater under a new name. I cannot wait to see what they do next. Every dish truly hit it out of the park. From the Three Sisters salad with bison and squash to the fried quail and rich, earthy mushroom soup, each plate showcased Indigenous ingredients and traditions in a way that felt both thoughtful and exciting. This is not your typical dining experience and that's exactly what makes it so satisfying. Even the margarita was a standout: beautifully presented and just as delicious as it looked. I will definitely miss this riverfront location, but I am so excited for their next chapter.

This place totally lived up to the hype, in my opinion!…read more I got the maple pepita latte ($10), sweet potatoes ($18), bison skirt steak tacos ($55), and spoonbread ($15). The latte came garnished with rose petals and was not too sweet. It was a nice way to start my meal. Then came the sweet potatoes, and oh my God, I think they were the best sweet potatoes I've ever had. They were unbelievably, delectably sweet and cooked perfectly. They had an excellent char while being soft on the inside. And the sweetness was complemented nicely by the maple chili crisp, which had just a bit of a kick. The bison skirt steak tacos were also delicious. The bison was so tender and juicy. Full of flavor and cooked superbly. My server wasn't kidding when she said the tacos were big enough to share between a few people. I ate the tacos by myself, and I was beyond stuffed. Alas, I wasn't a big fan of the spoonbread. The flavor wasn't bad, but I didn't care for the texture, which was a little too coarse for me. The dessert was gluten-free, and I could REALLY tell. It was also too spicy for me. The spoonbread was drenched in hot honey. But the sweet potatoes, tacos, and attentive & friendly service more than made up for it. The restaurant isn't cheap (especially for a solo diner), but I've seen worse prices for worse food. And I'm eager to check out their new location the next time I'm in Minneapolis. Note - if you pay with a credit card, it does come with a 3% fee.

There is a lot to say about this restaurant, and most of it is very good. The ambiance had perfect energy. It felt lively, but never loud or overwhelming. It struck a really nice balance for a special night out. You could comfortably enjoy the experience and conversation. The service was exceptional. Not just friendly, but incredibly knowledgeable. Every course and every pairing was explained in detail, and the staff clearly knew their craft. Service - they absolutely delivered. We chose The W.C. Whitney Menu. I had the Premium Wine Pairing, which was excellent and very well done. My wife chose the Temperance Pairing since she does not drink alcohol. This was one of the few disappointments of the evening. Many of the drinks were designed to mimic the taste of cocktails and wine, while my wife does not care for the taste of alcoholic drinks. When it came to the food, there was a range. Some dishes were truly outstanding and worthy of Demi's reputation. Some were good but not exactly great. And honestly, a few were mediocre. With a tasting menu, you expect some variation, but at this level and at this price, mediocre does not cut it. Here's what it really comes down to. I would rate the experience itself 5-stars. But the cost of the evening did not come close to matching what was delivered. I was not looking for, or expecting value! We spent over $700 for the evening. Demi is very good. The service is exceptional. The ambiance is awesome. Much of the food is outstanding. But in my opinion, the overall experience did not justify the extremely high cost.

We were greeted at the entrance, jackets were taken, and drinks offered while we waited. The waiting space was small and a little awkward but it was fun to get serve right away with a friendly bartender. Seating is around the small, intimate bar where you observe the chefs preparing every dish for the night. The servers are shared so you don't get just one person for the night. We are not wine people, but I'd still recommend doing the wine pairings ,which is an extra add on. It was really fun to learn about the different wines and how they tasted with the plates. There is some down time in-between courses but nothing ever felt too long. It seemed like a perfect time to converse and enjoy watching the chefs do their thing. It took about 2.5hrs to finish our nine course meal. The courses were so tasty! I was a little nervous because of previous reviews but we really felt like every dish was put together nicely. We were so impressed with how intricate each dish was and how many ingredients came together. A favorite was the wagyu ribeye. Just so delicious. Yes, I wanted more, but it was about trying small plates and things you've never thought you'd try before. I was full and buzzed by the end of it. I also really appreciated getting the menu at the end of dinner. The whole time I was like what the heck did I just eat? Now, I can reflect on it even more. You are seated next to people but there was plenty of space where I didn't feel like my privacy was invaded. Everything about this experience felt intimate and well put together. Such amazing talent and delicious meals put together right in front of us.
