Dope, chill environment we decided to try. They have drinks for the caffeine fiends and alcohol for those needing a cold one. You can be both and meet in the middle by spiking your coffee! They have a taco shop in the courtyard and have great food while sipping a good drink. You can gather for an after work happy hour, bring your laptop to get work done, or catching up with friends. A great space that everything can happen with good vibes and drinks. read more

This place is fun! With both both coffee and alcoholic drinks on the menu, there is something for everyone. I stuck with an Orgeat Matcha tea latte, and it was amazing! The almond flavor took a normal Matcha tea latte over the top. The prices weren't any more than other places and the vibe was pretty cool. They have a smaller indoor area but a large outside. And they also have a rooftop area that I need to go back and explore. It looks like there was also food available at the neighboring building , so I will have to try that as well. If you are in the Saltillo area, be sure to give this place a try. read more

We have been looking forward to stopping by this place since I found it on Instagram. When we made a recent daytime trip out to Austin, we were so excited to finally try it. Hubs and I grabbed a couple of tacos as well as a few cocktails and made ourselves comfortable on the first floor patio. I love that they have warmers, especially on a cool winter day. the outside patio is absolutely amazing with little hidden nook throughout. Food - we waited at the counter for a good while to see if anyone would take our order. After waiting about five minutes or so and no one, stopping by, we decided to just use the QR code. That was a bit bummer and honestly it would be -1/2 star. I had the Nopalito and Al Pastor, while hubs had the carnitas. all of the tacos were decent. However, I was a bit disappointed that the cactus taco didn't have a bit more flavor to it. Another downside - the salsas weren't spicy enough for either of us. Cocktails - the service at the bar was much better than the restaurant portion. The bartender was super responsive and helpful. Hubs had the hot toddy, which was pretty delicious. I however, went in with a beer, the cosmic echoes hazy IPA. That was delicious. 5 Stars for ambience and patio alone! read more

Coffee, tacos, beer and outdoor patios, what else would you need for a place to hang out? Came here on a Thursday night when it's a little too late for coffee, and the adjoined taco shop already closed. They have a good selections of local beers and some coffee flavors drinks. Very nice ambiance with the string lights, pumpkins, and graffiti brick walls. The second floor area has a good view of downtown Austin. If we have somewhere like this in Houston, I would visit often. read more

Scenery, ambiance, vibes, that's what you're coming here for. Cosmically good tacos and boozy drinks. You're definitely here for a good time. But this place is cool because you can come to experience both worlds. They're also a coffee shop and you're more than welcome to come sit and do work while you enjoy whatever amenities they have to offer. If it's too loud, they conveniently have a second floor away from all the noise that's much quieter to let you focus. We came on a beautiful Saturday afternoon plenty packed on a lovely day like this. I got the al pastor and steak taco for lunch, steak taco simple great toppings and smokey tender meat topped with guacamole, onions, and cilantro. The al pastor taco was okay, it was a little too sweet having added pineapples in the taco and the marinade for the meat tasting overly sweet. The other taco options sound great though and I would love to try them next time! As for the coffee drinks, they taste alright. I like the thought and innovation behind the drinks, some of them are quite interesting! But the execution just doesn't seem quite there. I'm sure their alcoholic drinks are very good though, as their frozen margaritas were sold out by the time we arrived at 1pm. Overall, I do really like the place! I just wish their menu items were a little more tasty. I'll definitely be back to try the bar and hangout with friends though! read more

We came on a beautiful weekday and enjoyed some sunshine on the beautiful patio. There is a taqueria on the right and a bar on the left to get any type of morning or alcoholic beverage. The drink menu has many options. I opted for the taqueria to get tacos, a trio of dips with chips, and a $5 aguas frescas. I enjoyed El pescador- fish taco. It was fresh and the salsas were perfect. I wish the $10 portion of the three amigos, salsa, guac, and queso, was bigger because I can drink it all up! read more

This spot has been in my weekly ritual rotation. Rooftop view, fire pits, dog friendly and ALWAYS a fun playlist going. What more could you ask for? They have draft coffee, brewskis and cocktails - but to those that do not indulge in alcohol... do not worry. They have great N/A and THC options too!! read more

Love this spot! Yes, it's reminiscent of cosmic coffee, but I feel like it's a little bit more structured and carefully planned, whereas cosmic coffee feels more random and open. Caught up with a few friends on a Monday evening, and it wasn't too busy at all. Plenty of patio bench seating, and also lawn chair seating in the back. The layout is a little confusing at first, there's a building with two bars, one for coffee-related drinks and one for alcoholic drinks. And then there's another building for food (tacos and bites). The ambience is great, pumpkins everywhere and hanging lights everywhere to set the mood. They were out of the boozy apple chai-der, which is what I was looking forward to. But they had plenty of other drinks to try - both of mine were tasty. I also ordered two tacos with a side of corn. Tacos were legit, they really stood their ground as a legit taco joint. The veggie chorizo was tasty, but slightly odd with kale in it. And I also had the chickaroni taco which had a nice grilled flavor on the chicken. Not a ton of plant-based options though. Overall, great place for a group meetup (until everyone picks up on this spot). read more

Oh my god, the best breakfast taco I have ever had and I'm from California. I got the steak and chorizo. Everything was reasonably priced!! The service was polite and helpful, they were quick as well. The place is super cute and beautiful, it's calm and fun. The music wasn't too loud. It's a great place to just hang outside or do some work. The drinks were delicious too! read more

I've been the original location and I was super excited to check this hip spot in East Austin. There was a lot of construction around the area and their parking lot is full during busy hours with a mix of construction workers and visitors. My friend and I were able to snag off street parking a block away but it was not free unfortunately. There is a lot of outdoor seating which is nice to but they really lack indoor seating. This place is not stroller friendly, no ramp anywhere and we had to carry the stroller up over a few stairs to go to the bar area. The drink selection I felt was more extensive at this location. I like how they have a separate building next door for food. That area has limited bar top seating too btw. The elevator wasn't functioning so we couldn't go upstairs with a stroller to check out the view of the surrounding neighborhood. It is a really cool spot to chill with friends...more so during cooler weather. It was unbearable with minimal shade during the summer and most of the shaded areas seem to be occupied for extensive times. read more

This place is so cute! The patio has a huge space with tons of seating and cute decorations. There's also an upstairs patio that has a nice view of the city! I've seen reviews mention long wait times, but I didn't experience this during my visit! I came around 4 PM on Monday, and there was no line to order drinks or food. The food came out in less than 5 minutes and my drink was made on the spot. The Arrachera Steak taco I ordered was good! Nothing too special, but it was enjoyable. The Frozen Matcha Painkiller was amazing. It tasted very tropical, which overpowered the matcha in my opinion, but it was still refreshing and delicious. If you plan on studying here or making calls, just be aware that the music is a little loud. There was a good mix of people socializing/getting drinks and people doing work though. I would love to come back again and get drinks next time. Seriously so well-decorated and designed! read more

Came to have a boozy coffee while catching up with a friend. It was a great ambiance and the service was very quick! The music was a little loud, but I believe they noticed it and turned it back down to a level where you could hear the person sitting across from the table haha. I regret not ordering any food because it looked amazing! But would definitely try it out on my next visit. Parking was a bit tight, but there is plenty of street parking that's close to the there. read more

Love the ambiance here! It's beautifully decorated. Plenty of outdoor seatings downstairs and upstairs. The upstairs had such a romantic vibe with nice low lighting and softer music. I like that it's dog friendly. My favorite was probably the chicken bites since it was crispy and easy to snack on. Tacos were just okay, nothing really special but very generous fillings. I thought queso fries were a little bland, their queso was good but they could've added more queso on the fries. I would definitely come back for the nice outdoor vibe and try their coffee next time! read more

Hands down, my FAVORITE coffee/hangout spot in East Austin. There are oodles of seating (most of it outdoors). So many plants (they have a Japanese maple!!) There's picnic tables galore and then smaller areas off to one side that have slightly more private vibes. Cosmic drinks are great, I got the Cosmic cold brew which was delightfully fruity and sweet. I would probably ask to reduce sweetness next time, but it was great to try it at full sweetness too! It's not the best place for working since there's not many outlets and most tables are outside, but if you're fine with that, it's great! Parking is tough - lot is not that big and usually full so you may have to pay for street parking. Nevertheless, I think this will be my go to spot for hangouts, occasional coworking, and immaculate vibes read more

The 4 starts is specifically driven by the fact I had good company, the weather was nice, and the outside area was absolutely gorgeous! While the upstairs was completely empty, after seeing it, I wish that I sat up there (though it's in a weird placement - back by the front entrance rather than the ability to be accessed from the seating area). It was packed with co-workers on zoom calls and friends sharing smiles on a sunny day, but my date and I found some room on a shared bench and had a lovely time. It's a to-go style, where you order at the counter and pick up your drinks / food yourself (marked with a buzzer). Now for drink + food - I had a cappuccino with oat milk - my oat milk was burnt, ruining the entire taste. Then, on the other side, indulged in some Al Pastor and Arrachera tacos - which I was underwhelmed by. I think the Al Pastor was soggy, overly oily, and I didn't prefer the pineapple being split up so small. The arrachera was fine - nothing to complain about, but didn't blow me out of the water. read more

Pretty cool setup reminiscent of SoDoSoPa from South Park. Cool indoor and outdoor setup in East Austin that is following the wave of gentrification and modernization to the area. Very nice roof access with downtown views and a nice view of their outdoor area. Drinks were fine as well! Parking looks like paid parking only, which is a personal minus. read more

Visited Cosmic Saltillo for the Whoville takeover at their upstairs Satellite Bar. The artist did such an amazing job transforming this place. Their staff is so friendly and their cocktails were probably some of my favorite out of all the Christmas themed bars I've visited so far. The downside was there was a huge line and only two bartenders so better get in line before you finish your drink. There's also not enough seating for the amount of people that were there. We got lucky enough to grab a spot in one of the "sofas" (which was more like a fabric covered bench and oh so uncomfortable). But overall solid effort and showed more creativity than some of the other holiday bars in Austin. read more

The word is out! This is a new hot spot on the east side. For only being open a few weeks, this place was popping. That being said, there is plenty of spaces to sit. Lots of people avoided the outside tables since it was hot and sunny out. The staff was busy but everyone was very personable and eager to help. Parking was tough. You will likely need to do street parking. I did get a spot in their lot. If you wait a bit, people do leave the lot frequently. I ordered a vanilla latte. It was very good. My friend also enjoyed her drink. I'll definitely be back here. I'm excited that this business is doing so well already. Also, be sure to visit their other location on S. Congress. read more

This place is such a vibe. I really only came in to get a coffee, but I was surprised by all the wonderful options. I ended up getting this wonderful pink drink that had coffee and probiotics and CBD and 1000 other things that I can't remember. There was wonderful music playing, a water feature, multiple dogs, family style seating, indoor seating options, and also it looks like there was a taco place at this location if you were hungry. I wish that I had all day to hang out, because it was such a cool place, but I'm glad that we at least got to check it out while we were in town since so many people recommended it! read more

Cosmic Saltillo - Liquid Sunshine - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Austin, Texas

Street parking is free on Sundays and with 'food' you can purchase an adult bevie before noon and after 10 (might be earlier but I have never tried). Texas has weird alcohol laws especially on Sundays. Since it was a rainy fall Sunday it was a perfect time to get an Irish coffee. This might be one of the few places you can get this drink in the morning especially on a Sunday. They also have other coffee based cocktails as well and of course coffee if you need caffeine. There's a bouncer at the door that can look at your ID so you get a wrist band to save you a step from showing your ID every time you order a drink just like the other cosmic coffee location. This location has an outdoor covered deck on two levels. There are two main indoor areas on the ground level to order from. There are also picnic tables and little 1980s like lawn chairs to sit on if the weather is nice. Even for a rainy Sunday morning this place was pretty happening under the covered deck and inside; of course no one was seated out in the rain. Lots of people catching up and even a few people working remotely. When I was there the outdoor area had a fall theme with tons of pumpkins near the water features. Very picture worthy and I assume they will do something similar for the holidays. read more

Hip spot for coffee, drinks, tacos, etc. In East Austin. Most of the seating is outdoors and uncovered. One building serves drinks and the other food. Pro Tip: In the drinks building, ask if people are in line to order or are just waiting. It quickly gets crowded in there and often it isn't obvious if people are in line to order. It's pretty disorganized and they probably need to put in a queue of some sort. I just had an iced mocha with oat milk and it was good. As of September 2023, the area is under heavy construction and parking can be a bit of a pain. Parking is paid street parking. If you use the Park ATX app, you're forced to buy a $10 "wallet" to park so you may just want to pay at the parking kiosks instead if you're not going to use that much parking in Austin. read more

Nice place, great location a little off the main drag. Lots of seating both indoors and outdoors. The drink menu is sort of small. The food is solid and good prices. The bar line was extremely long and slow moving. I would love to see a better option for ordering drinks and managing the line so it doesn't clog the entire indoor space. I will definitely be back when I'm on the east side and will consider going there to work during the day as a change of pace from my living room. A great addition to the neighborhood. read more

If you need a new spot to work remotely I recommend checking out the new Cosmic Saltillo. The new fall weather has been so gorgeous that we decided to have a change of scenery instead of working from home. The venue is beautifully decorated currently with tons of pumpkins! They serve food, alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. We had two cocktails for $9.50 each and the tacos looked and smelled good, but we'll leave that for next time. Lots of seating, but I would say if you want to sit near a power outlet to arrive early in the day or wait till a seat is available. The main picnic tables do not have power outlets. Also it's dog friendly! Our pup loved it. Really tranquil fountain in the middle. You can also go up to their rooftop area to sit and see views of dt and the main seating below. Definitely have this on the list as a go-to work spot! read more

Cosmic Saltillo is the second location of Cosmic Coffee in South Austin. While the East Austin location is well chosen and the grungy steel beam architecture is a cool concept, Cosmic Saltillo lacks the quaint and welcoming nature vibes of the original location. The coolest parts of what makes Cosmic Coffee a unique venue are all missing: no waterfalls, no gardens, no grackles, no chickens, no pond with koi fish, no food trucks, no large wooden chairs placed in a circle... The list of "nos" goes on. Instead, Cosmic Saltillo has opted to make their own tacos (they're not bad but Pueblo Viejo food truck serves superior and larger tacos), the tables are more crammed against each other because space is more limited, and the vibe is a bit austere, even on a nice and sunny autumn day. That being said, I'm happy to report that while the quality of the food in my opinion has gone down a bit, the quality of the coffee served at the bar is still on par with the original. For everything else, I'll keep heading south, where the Cosmic experience has already been perfected, surpassing its offspring. read more

Mmm mixed feelings. The food and beverages here are really good but soooo pricey. It's so beautiful here but man good luck finding a spot to sit in the shade, maybe cause it's still so new. Enjoyed Sunday brunch here today and I mean REALLY enjoyed it. Quintessential austin patio vibes with wonderful landscaping complete with several peaceful fountains and water features, creeping vines and string lights. Restaurant was counter service with a separate area for bar or tacos. About 10 min each. Pro tip though: you can get select drinks/Can beers in the taco line as well. Such a gorgeous new addition to Cosmic coffee! Spacious and fantastic for large groups since there are so many long tables available outdoors. My husband and I checked this out early on a Saturday morning around 9am, and many tables were filled up with plenty still available. This does seem mostly like an outdoor space, so as long as the weather is nice, this is a great place to chill with friends. The vibes were very chill and we enjoyed sipping our coffee while reading. Coffee was great, similar to the original Cosmic location. Tacos are sold here, which we didn't order, so we'll definitely have to try them out next time! They seemed like a pretty popular choice among most tables, so that's a good sign. Be prepared to walk, because all parking seems to be street parking (so may not be the most ideal but comes with the territory around this area of town). With businesses all around, you may need to park a distance away once you find a spot especially during busy times. read more

I've been hearing a lot about this new spot in East Austin so I finally went to check it out. Their gravel parking lot was full when I went, but there's plenty of street parking in the surrounding blocks despite the construction. This place definitely has an "industrial chic" type of vibe, with lots of wood and metal accents. I liked that they had multiple water features running, which added to the relaxing atmosphere. There are two separate indoor areas, one for drinks and one for food. If you're looking for the spiked agua frescas, you'll find them in the food area. There's also tons of seating here, including seating in both indoor areas, a covered patio, picnic tables, rooftop seating upstairs, and even some more private seating areas behind the main water feature. You might want to avoid wearing open toed shoes here since the main area with the picnic tables is all gravel. The staff here is super friendly. Everyone I interacted with asked about my day and was happy to give me recommendations. I got to try the Frozen Boozy Coffee, which was a little sweet with plenty of spices, and I really couldn't taste the booze! I also ordered two tacos, the Con Todo and the Carnitas. Both tacos were absolutely loaded with meat/filling, so I was really glad they were served with double tortillas. They also came garnished with tons of sauce, which I loved, but they were definitely messy. They also have additional salsa available in the little fridge next to the cashier if you need it! The other great thing about these tacos was that they came out super fast. I had barely sat down when my buzzer went off telling me my food was ready. I definitely want to come back and try their other menu offerings. Overall, this seems like an ideal spot to work with friends or just to hang out at. They seem like they already have a pretty efficient setup, and I'm sure this place is only going to grow in popularity! read more

I came here on a Wednesday night and the place was packed. Lots of people having a great time - the vibe here was fantastic. I would give this place 5 stars if I was only reviewing the ambience and aesthetics- it's a super cool place. I would describe it as an ultra modern artsy urban garden, with lots of little nooks and crannies to hang out in. I loved it! Unfortunately, the food was a different story. When we finally received our tacos and nachos platter (there were four of us, FYI), everything was cold. Apparently we didn't get a notification on the app that our food was ready so it had been sitting out for a bit. The kitchen staff were very gracious in remaking everything. We had breakfast tacos and a few other tacos as well as the nacho platter. The tacos were excessively salty and not terribly flavorful. The nachos were mostly chips with very little toppings, but the meat was also overly salty. Thankfully the food wasn't ridiculously expensive, so perhaps we just ordered the wrong things? The drinks also tasted watered down, without much flavor and very little alcohol. I believe I would return here, since I really loved the design and feel of the place; however, I think I'll probably skip the food and drink. read more
