Cool spot. A friend recommended this place and it didn't disappoint. The cocktail menu is robust, but I must say they're froze. Coffee is easily #1, especially on a hot day.
Loved it here. Wish we lived in Austin. Wifey would bring me here all the time. And the doggies! They have a couple of food trucks open. Veracruz tacos were very good. Especially the fish tacos. Service was self serve pretty much Tried one fancy drink. It was very good
This place is an absolute vibe. I have been here the last two times I was in Texas visiting. The service is always good and the drinks are superb! My only complaint is both times I went, most of the tables had uneven legs. We were able to fix it though using napkins. I cant wait to go back!
To be honest, I don't know how this place doesn't have a thousand reviews! This is easily one of the most unique cafe/beer gardens I have ever been to! It's pretty surreal. The atmosphere really sets it apart. They have so much seating, a koi pond, and beautiful greenery and art woven throughout the space. It's also perfect for any vibe really! You can show up in the afternoon wanting coffee and breakfast tacos, or lean into a happy hour vibes with drinks and pork tacos. This is a great spot to get work done during the day, do some creative writing, and it's also a great place to bring a friend and catch up. I wish every city had a place like this!
This place is awesome! Parking is pretty solid. The food is pretty good! I love their taquitos! Service is pretty decent and the ambiance is great! I love eating at the second floor but not so much shading so bring a hat.
Was wondering around Austin and stumbled on this place. Was a great place to take a minute and relax. The best part is the free parking and as you approach the Biz, there is a lot of free form art work. As you step in, you hear water from the fountains and the whole place looks like a mini-retreat. There is a vast variety of coffee drinks and non alcoholic drinks. There is also a taco spot and dispensary. Our barista was super informative and helped explain to us about some of the coffee drinks as it was our first time there. Once we got our order ( 2 Cosmic Comet lattes), we headed to the rooftop where is was a great place to chill and relax. We found out in the pm its 21 and over and will head that way to try the tacos. Loved how it is tucked away in an East Austin neighborhood and just a great place to chill or work. Loved the misters they had down stairs, perfect for the heat!
Great spot for drinks and dog friendly!! I love the mangonada margarita and my husband love the cosmic echoes beer The tacos were good but unfortunately the meat and tortilla was cold when we got the food Salsa / chips and queso guac combo was really good and great price Service is self order for the tacos - super simple but order at bar for drinks Plenty of outdoor seating - not too much of an indoor space Parking lot available and street parking too
Great place to chill and have drinks! They offer a variety on alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. A variety of coffee drinks were available, and adjacent is a spot to order tacos, nachos etc We came to chill. They have a spacious outdoor space, a natural water/green feature, and an outdoor upstairs seating area for views. Fun music playing overhead. We sat for a bit to chat before we headed for dinner.
Loved this E Austin place for breakfast and coffee. Beautiful setting / could have spent the day hanging in the yard. Food was fresh and delicious. Lots of inventive drink options.
This is definitely a spot to check out if you're in the area. The outdoor space is beautiful and perfect for letting kids or dogs explore supervised. I love spending time here and decompressing. As for the coffee itself, I wouldn't necessarily say it's the reason I come. The drinks are okay--more on the sweet, syrupy, and creative side if that's your thing. They do make a lot of cocktails and specialty alcoholic beverages, so I can see how that's a big plus for coming in the evening. I tend to strictly come in the morning and opt for a cortado and a taco from the taco shop onsite. The taco spot is pretty awesome--they make their tortillas in house and the staff is super friendly. Heads up, for those looking for authentic aguas frescas--you won't get them here as they use a syrup base form the bar for the drinks. They do offer elote in a cup and some other treats at times. 4/5 for ambience and tacos.
Cosmic Saltillo is such a vibe. They had a live DJ when I went on a Saturday, which added great energy. I was greeted by the staff who were super nice. The drink menu has a nice mix of coffee and alcoholic options. I tried the Banana Cloud Cold Brew. I'm usually not a fan of banana flavors, but this one was smooth and not artificial at all. Plenty of seating and space to hang out, work, or study. My friend and I had such a great time, we ended up getting tacos there as well. Before we knew it, we had spent 4 hours there!! Definitely a spot I'd come back to.
When you've got that friend or family member coming in for the weekend, Cosmic Saltillo is the best choice for the following: 1. Outdoor breakfast tacos with the family (strollers & pets accepted) 2. Guys brunch at a picnic table 3. A rehash of last night with your best friend at the bar 4. The first stop for suburbanites who've come in town for the day The food menu is limited but the cocktail list has got something for everyone. It's beautiful and eclectic so great for photos. There's a parking garage around the corner and there's limited paid street parking.
There are so many spaces to try in Austin, but the one I have been dying to check out is Cosmic Saltillo off East 4th Street. Last weekend, with a group of friends, we all ventured to Cosmic Saltillo to check it out. Immediately, the space is extremely welcoming. The outdoor area feels like a peaceful garden with a small fountain, a stream, and wooden picnic tables and benches. Inside is the bar where the menu is filled with custom cocktails on tap and plenty of other options as well. We settled in on the upstairs balcony with a perfect view of Downtown Austin and the CapMetro Rail. There are quite a few tables up there and we were lucky to get one right as it opened up. As for the drinks, I started with their Nitro Espresso Cocktail which is a way of saying it is kinda basically sorta maybe an Espresso Martini. It was great. Next I drank a Coors Banquet to offset it, but their draft and bottled beer selection as a whole is great with some specific Cosmic collabs with local breweries. After that, I had their Frozen Boozy Coffee which is served in a special paper cup that looks eerily similar to the Wendy's logo. Once you try it, it is not a frozen hot chocolate. It is a boozy frosty and it is amazing. Lastly, I had a beergarita which is a margarita built on Vacancy Brewing's Super Agave lager and it was also fantastic. The nighttime atmosphere at Cosmic Saltillo is great especially if you are with great company like I was, but I can only imagine a Saturday afternoon being even better since the space is so welcoming and cozy. They have a full espresso and coffee bar and a taco joint but I tried neither. I will be coming back to Saltillo with a group because it is a great spot in a good area of Austin. The balcony feels like a cheat code with how it overlooks Cosmic itself and the Austin skyline. RIYL: Wendy's Chocolate Frosties if they were made with mezcal and tequila.
This is one of the coolest and prettiest places to hang out and work from! Not to mention the staff are so friendly. They offer a good selection of coffees/drinks and sell tacos as well. I've previously been to their other location in Austin but fell in love with this one way more! read more
I'm thankful to have found street parking in the area. This coffee shop is fun, quaint and youthful. Service was good. I ordered a matcha and a hot toddy. Both over priced though. The matcha lacked flavor and was filled only half way, that annoyed me. I alerted the worker, she was unhelpful. When I ordered my second drink--the guy was very friendly and gave a great drink recommendation for the holiday hot toddy. There are two separate counters one for ordering alcohol based drinks and one for traditional tea/coffee drinks. There's minimal seating inside and there's a spacious outdoor area with a few outlets on the patio. read more
Cool indoor/outdoor bar with tacos and small bites next door. The drink I got was balanced nicely, some kind of bramble with gin and elderflower. They had outdoor TVs to watch whatever game was on. We got some loaded cheese fries with our drinks, which I couldn't stop eating. Nice place to chill with a group of friends. read more

Wow, this may be one of my new favorite spots in East Austin! We came here over the weekend for a birthday party and had the absolute best time at Cosmic. We were on the rooftop portion, and I could not get over the entire space. It was so inviting, and different, and the drinks were incredible! It was a beautiful sunny day, and the patio was just what we were looking for. We ordered an assorted order of tacos and loved all of them. Our group was there for a few hours, and had the absolute best time. I know I'll definitely be back read more
such a cute place with great vibes. i came on a saturday and it was pretty busy, but they have tons of seating both inside and outside. on the tacos they put like sour cream and avocado salsa but it was not spicy at all. we ended up putting the hottest salsa they had on it, i think it's called salsa arbol. the food was very good and we left super full and it was less than $30 read more
I most definitely had that cosmic feel when walking through the door, or should I say many doors! The front entrance is a colorful, eccentric, vibrant Cosmic Coffee and Cocktail Bar. But first, let's talk about the coffee bar; they have boozy coffee, classic coffee, specialty coffee, and some Liquid Sunshine, a 16-oz Energy and Recovery Elixir. Now, I like a good Irish Coffee, but since I knew I would be coming back again and again, I tried the Frozen Whipped Pistachio Latte. It was good; all the flavors came through with the first sip, and it wasn't frozen like an icee, you know, that slushie consistency most of us dislike. Yes, I'm speaking for the people! Instead, it was soft served, easy to sip, and had a good amount of cinnamon sprinkled on top; what I'm trying to say is the coffee was good! Then there's your wonderful, colorful cocktails! We tried two: the Cosmic Old Fashion, a wild turkey 101 rye with citrus peel oleo and spiced cherry bites. The second was a Forever Crush vodka with strawberry, mint marigold, and lime. First, let me say this: I used to hear my friends say, "They ain't holding back on the alcohol," and I never knew what they meant by that! Now, I do; the bartenders do an exceptional job blending the right amount of alcohol and fruit together. Its nice to be able to taste all the flavors and still be able to get up and walk a straight line! It's like a party in your mouth! Now, that was the beginning; upon coming out of the front entrance, you stepped into a beautiful beer garden with plants, bushes, trees, plenty of tables, and a canopy to keep the Texas sun at bay. On the right is a taco restaurant, not a taco stand. Yes, it is in its own building with plenty of space to sit, or you can come to one of the many tables in the garden. Keep walking, and you will come upon a third area with more tables and sitting; the amount of beautiful green space here never ends. I can sum this up by saying it's a sweet gathering place for meeting up with friends, meeting up with co-workers to do some work, or just getting to meet new people like we did! read more

Visited Austin and was this place pop up as a recommendation. Not typically a fan of breakfast tacos but oh my! These tacos were amazing, I came back the next day to eat some more. The tortilla was so fresh and good, egg and chorizo were the perfect proportion. And the salsa was really the cherry on top! Will return once I'm back in Austin! read more
Been looking forward to trying this spot since it opened. Went here this past Thursday, then again the next day because I was in the area and enjoyed it so much. From the jump, the ambience is top tier. When you walk in, the layout of the place with all of the plants and vines and industrial design really gives it that good nice east Austin feel. It is so spacious, there's nearly unlimited spots to sit. Lots of folks on their laptops enjoying the weather. Such a pro you can order anything from the QR codes at the tables too. The area to order your food and drinks are two separate areas. I was there early on Thursday so I wanted to try their breakfast tacos and coffee. I asked the associate what are the top two tacos, and he recommended the Avocado, Bacon... and the prime time. The steak was tasty, avocado was fresh, eggs were eggs. Tortilla seemed like your ordinary store bought ones. All in all, they were good, but didn't wow me. He let me sample their pineapple chamoy aqua fresca and it was SO good! Definitely going to get it next time. For my coffee drink, the associate knew it was my first time so he also let me sample the liquid sunshine I was asking about, along with the cosmic comet that is one of their best sellers. They were both so tasty, it was hard to pick from, but I went with the liquid sunshine. It was a healthy caffeinated aqua fresca, cant complain about that! However, I didn't really feel any of the caffeine like I was hoping for. I will go for a coffee next time, their menu is so fun with so many options to choose from. Also, I would ask for less ice as well, I finished my drink so quickly with just a few sips for $6. On Friday, we went to NADC burgers, then walked all of East to see all the bars are still closed at 2pm on a Friday. Then I recalled how awesome Cosmic was, and it was open and poppin'! My buddy really liked the place too. This time we were here for some cocktails. I tried their espresso martini, which they have on tap. Cool concept, specially for a cocktail that is so popular and takes time to make these days. However, for $12, it was lacking the quality of the ones made from scratch. I wouldn't order it again here. My buddy tried their Tequila Mangonada. It is also premade in one of their frozen machines. They still dress the rim with tamarind chamoy. His drink was really good, we both enjoyed it. We then both got their old fashion. Thankfully this one isn't on tap and they make it from scratch. It takes like a traditional old fashion, even though they make it slightly different. Instead of simple syrup, they use oleo, which was better. We both really loved our old fashions, this is always my go to drink, so glad to know they know how to make them right here. Service was great with everyone we encountered. We made our way to the rooftop for some awesome Austin views. Can't wait to come back to try more of their fun unique menu. I would have given a perfect 5 stars, but it was just the tacos that were just okay, plus the premade drinks that were just okay. read more
I was really excited for this place and it ended being not that great. The ordering process is terrible. You can wait in a long line to order and then if you order a drink there's absolutely nobody he's going to make it for you and you can't hunt down a staff member. Or you order online which is an even worse experience. It will send you a text when it's ready except it doesn't send you a text and you can just loiter near the food ready zone and then you can hunt someone down to make any drinks. I had the the nachos and a margarita. The margarita was good. Nachos were bad. Would not recommend. read more
Cosmic Coffee + Beer Garden has landed in East Austin! A fantastic location in Saltillo this venue now resurrected the once Texaco Depot. Adjacent to the Scoot Inn you'll find a great list of brews both coffee and beer along with tacos to round this establishment out. The rooftop view to downtown is a site. I welcome this establishment to the east side cool. read more

Cosmic - East / Saltillo Went here as it just opened recently. They have the coffee and cocktails down ! Just like the original and this is great. They also have a new aspect called Cosmic Tacos. This is perfect cause I love breakfast tacos so I was excited to test some out. These were honestly a let down. They lacked flavor (the Con Todo taco) and then the Prime Time taco literally had no meat on it. I asked the workers if there was suppose to be meat and they said "uhhh yeah that has meat" ... They weren't expensive so that's good but they definitely were a let down. I'll be back for coffee but I don't know about the tacos. read more

I came here on an event night with friends. The place was packed and lively. The atmosphere was fun and the venue is awesome. I love how there are seating hidden away so that you can have more hidden conversations. There is a second floor and a view to DT. On the way in, there is a stair case that goes to a Christmas themed room. It feels like Christmas already. There are Japanese water garden inspired theme through out. Definitely recommend people to come here for the vibe and atmosphere. For the drink, I got a mango-nada. It was pretty good and definitely recommend it. read more
Went here for coffee Saturday mid morning and this place was packed! They have 2 different lines: one for coffee and one for booze. The booze line was equally as long. I didn't realize there were that many ppl were drinking so early! Coffee wise, Cosmic always have good coffee. We would've gotten some tacos here if the line was shorter. We went on the 2nd floor deck to sit and enjoyed our coffee. The deck has a nice unobstructed view to downtown Austin. Very pretty. We were wishing the tables had some umbrellas or the deck had some shades. In 5-6 weeks or so, it would be a nice thing to do to sit up there. But for now, at the end of September, it's too hot. We wandered down on the garden area. They've done a really nice job here. There were lawn chairs and tables on the North side. We sat there people watching. In the middle, higher tables and chairs were full of people chatting. Lots of dogs, parents, kids, youngsters. Very lively! read more
I think you'd be hard pressed to find a nicer patio on a clear Austin October night. Cosmic Saltillo has done a great job with their backyard, adding maybe 10-12 picnic tables with umbrellas, lights strung high above, some big-ass fans to keep the air moving, a water feature, and a spattering of beach chairs around for lounging. Then there's the rooftop patio, which is now covered! I'm a beer drinker, and they have some good ones on tap. I go for Icy Boys from Zilker Brewing when it's warm out. They also have drafts from Meanwhile, Pinthouse, Jester King, St Elmo and a few other of the popular Austin independent breweries. I'm also a coffee drinker, and while I wouldn't necessarily recommend the coffee over other local spots, it gets the job done. Cosmic Saltillo also boasts a built in taco shop that delivers fresh, tasty tacos for a reasonable price (for Austin anyway). The brisket and sunny egg is juicy and delicious read more

We love Cosmic Saltillo because of the drinks, ambiance and vibes of the area. The drinks range between 10-15 dollars and they even have a coffee bar for those that aren't drinking alcohol. The outdoor space is great and very lively and they have a little fountain bubbling away which is very peaceful. I love taking the elevator to the rooftop becaus it's got a nice albeit different view of Austin. The bartenders are great and pretty quick at serving you all. read more

Tacos were good. Mexican coke was hitting as usual. The atmosphere outside in the patio was definitely post work relaxing with the music. The decorations were other level with a glow uped pumpkin man. Fast service but street parking. read more
Definitely love this spot from the moment I walked in. The architecture is insane. They thought of everything. The design, the secret nooks, the water elements they added into the pace, the rooftop patio, love every detail! They have their own cosmic tacos, didn't try them, but will definitely back back to grab some for breakfast. They serve alcoholic drinks and coffee, and you can add THC or CBD to your drink for just five dollars more. How crazy is that?! I had the vanilla oat iced latte, the winter, and shake it for me to add that extra foam at the top and it was perfect. They are pet, friendly, and there is plenty of parking in their parking lot, or the neighboring surrounding areas. They are pet friendly! read more

This was one of the busier bars we stumbled across in the area. I don't ever order mezcal, however, the boozy coffee drink sounded too good not to. I enjoyed this drink and didn't taste any mezcal in it. I also liked that they have a little taco shop on sight as well. The carnitas was really good, as was the avocado salsa I got on the side. The brisket taco was okay but the lettuce gave it a good crunch. Most of the seating looked outdoors but there was plenty of it along with a cute pond. read more
I've been there several times and had a great experience every time. It's quite a unique space that blends indoor and outdoor comfortably and is casual yet cool. From the second floor there's a nice view of downtown and the rail while the lower level is lush with greenery and fountains. The drinks are tasty and the taco shop is great too. I haven't had problem finding street parking right outside of it (fingers crossed it stays that way). Overall I feel this is a really great space for casual hangs and also to bring friends visiting from out of town. read more

Finally made it to Cosmic Saltillo for drinks with friends. Well, I should say, A drink as I got there late and only had time for one. I had a frozen coffee drink, and it was absolutely delicious. A little pricey for the environment in my opinion. I see why people are digging this spot. I used to live right around the corner and would have loved it then but it didn't exist, yet. Will have to keep this place top of mind to give their coffee a try and see if they can make it to 5 stars. read more

What a great place for some delicious breakfast tacos before hitting the road. This place has a nice selection of authentic tacos. It's so hidden that you can easily miss it from the outside, but once you enter it's a pretty nice outdoor area with some indoor seating as well. A great selection of breakfast cocktails for the early birds. Checking it out you won't be disappointed! read more

I came here for my birthday get-together and i couldnt have picked a better spot! There is a lot of outdoor seating and the drinks are phenomenal.
