UPDATE: We just read Christina's review. Yikes. Didn't know one couldn't research vendors, that a potential host had to use one only allowed by Moya the owner. Not good. Christina also confirmed this in her review, you HAVE to use one of MOYA's vendors. So sorry, Christina, for your horrible experience at Springdale Station, and for getting ripped off. We ALSO definitely do NOT recommend Springdale Station! Honest review for those considering this as a venue: The indoor space is very SMALL. It is not a good location for a large amount of guests. You will find three rooms inside (one with some stairs that are required to access it). The foyer serves as one of these rooms, so once you make it through the line to get inside, you are inside one of the three small rooms! The event we attended was very crowded and everyone was bumping into each other. Again, in OUR experience, this is NOT a good venue for a large group of people. The outside has a very small patio, with a LARGE amount of dirt. Definitely not a good location for anything even slightly dressy. Something casual, cowboy-like, perhaps a kids' casual party...those might work. The dirt area is large. (And VERY dirty!) We came home with dirt up to our calves. Gross! Keep this in mind, and check this out thoroughly before signing any contract with Moya. Buyer beware!!! Outside seating on the small patio was extremely limited. Literally only ONE sofa. Moya needs to addressed this. Would be nice if guests could actually sit down. Ridiculously inhospitable! We have attended several events in Austin, this one is only suitable for a super casual OUTDOOR event. (And hopefully it is priced accordingly...). Again, please prepare to get dirty if the weather is dry, and if it rains you will have muddy shoes. If you wear any type of heel, you will sink into their wet mud. Again, this is another item that Moya still needs to address. (Hello? GREATLY enlarge that tiny patio!). Good grief. Last issue - parking. Many other reviewers have also mentioned this. The parking lot was large, but it was (is) shared by other businesses so finding an actual parking spot was very difficult. Highly recommend if you have to go to Springdale Station that you use a taxi, (etc.) to get there and back. Again, research thoroughly before committing. There are so many other decent venues in Austin, we don't know why anyone would pick this one! read more

Came in for their Sip & See event and it was absolutely lovely! Very good representation of several vendors that you could utilize for your wedding/event. The catering was delicious. I enjoyed the cheese cake dip, shrimp and grits and oysters best! The bartenders were quick as well and made delicious cocktails. They have a cute indoor space and plenty of space outside as well. Definitely worth a look if you are looking to plan an event. Plenty of parking too! read more

Springdale Station is an incredibly unique place, just like the people who work there; it was an absolute dream. There are not enough words to describe how perfect and magical our entire experience was with them. Their incredible attention to detail, impeccable communication skills, and creative ability really turned our vision into a complete reality. The owners/floral providers, Moya and Colin, and Kayla, the Director of Events & Sales, were SO thoughtful and considerate in everything they did to make our wedding happen. Our first impression of those people was very cheery and kind; that was precisely how the vibes were until the very end of it all. They are exceptionally good at what they do, and their style comes with all the "Austin" feels. They brought the best of Austin into this beautiful, preserved, once-was train station and had it blossom into a dream come true of a venue for us. Colin, Moya's husband, is also the in-house florist (Native Botanicals), and he won our hearts with his flower designs. They were absolutely stunning, and having his support as part of the wedding package was icing on the cake! He really does take the time to hear you, understand your wants, and deliver to a T. By the way, flower beds and lush green plants surround the venue's backyard, which was one of the many reasons we chose the venue. We got married facing our backs to the flowers, and we're telling ya, that was a beautiful sight to see! Our photos turned out amazingly; thanks to Colin and the S.S. family for taking such diligent care of the property the way they do! Overall, the place is unique and full of passion - just like the people who work there! Our guests are STILL raving about how fantastic of an experience they had at the wedding and how perfect every detail of everything turned out! We could go on forever about this beautiful venue, the people, and the service, but you need to have your turn booking your date before their calendar fills up! Is it a gorgeous venue? Yes. Is it conveniently located? Absolutely. But, at least for us, it has been a constant source of stress and frustration to do business with them. Their policies regarding food and drink are absurdly strict. For starters, you get lured in by the seeming affordability of the place, but don't let that fool you into signing a contract and paying a non-refundable deposit. First, they will force you to use one of their approved caterers, and let me tell you, they are not known for being affordable! Once the initial shock of paying over $10,000 for food settles down, you will be hit by the extravagant pricing for beverages--around $7 per person if all you're doing is sodas, tea, and coffee. So then you think, we could just bring coolers with soft drinks ourselves. Think again. You are not allowed to bring even a bottle of water into that place. All beverages, whether they're soft drinks or alcohol, have to be provided by them--they won't even let caterers do it (we wanted to have a traditional Mexican warm beverage for the end of the reception, done by our caterer, and they shot us down immediately). They refuse to do just a cocktail hour for us because it's not enough profit for them, and their basic, most affordable alcohol package is cash bar (guests pay for their own drinks), for which the couple has to pay a minimum of $400 for bartender service, and then the requirement is for every guest to spend at least $25 in alcohol consumption, or else the couple has to pay the difference at the end of the night. Either way you look at it, an insane rip off. But the thing that was finally the last straw for us was the realization that the "you have the venue for 12 hours" is kind of false advertising, because we were trying to have it from 11am to 11pm, but come to find out they cut off ALL beverages (and I mean ALL) by 10pm. Who wants to keep a party going without even water being available? Our only solution was going to be to cut the party at 10pm, which is weirdly early, in my opinion. Mind you, the only detail of which we were aware when we signed the contract was having to use one of their caterers. They weren't transparent about the other stuff from the get go. Of course, when we signed, we were told that a wedding of around $25k was "totally doable." At our last budget check in, we were at $35k, with just a cash bar and a main dish consisting of ground beef (no budget for lobster here!). One of us just got laid off, so we explained the situation to them and of course were told that our deposit is non-refundable. We are walking away, with $3,000 less in our budget, because of how impossible Springdale Station has made it for us to plan a reasonably priced wedding that actually feels like it's uniquely ours. Meanwhile, they get to keep our money and rent out the venue to someone else the same day. Buyers beware. read more

We recently hosted my daughters wedding at Springdale Station a quintessential "Austin" venue and the experience exceeded our expectations. Although it was a January wedding the staff was fully prepare for any weather and handled everything with professionalism and warmth. Fortunately, the weather cooperated, allowing us to host our 160 guests outdoors for the ceremony, followed by an indoor/outdoor cocktail hour. The waitstaff were efficient attentive and genuinely friendly, The room was set up beautifully and the food was absolutely delicious - we choose a family style menu option which allowed guests to sample all the menu options. Guests with special dietary needs were thoughtfully accommodated and served at the same time as everyone else which we greatly appreciated. The floral arrangements were simple, elegant and stunning. Hannah, our coordinator was exceptional- she graciously incorporated our feedback and guided us seamlessly and in a very timely manor through every detail making what could have been a stressful process less so. The DJ, enhanced by the addition of three horns truly made the night. It felt like having a fantastic live band playing all our favorite music, but at a fraction of the cost. Nice Venue All Hallows Gala a Yelp event at Springdale Station which is an East Austin Event venue. Parking is a little tight the cendors seem to take the parking needed for attendees when should be clear when an event starts. Perhaps there are certain arrangements that are made in advance with the planners. I see great things happening here Back to the party I attended This is truly what experts at event planning is all about because the layout was phenomenal, the vendors were friendly and every single person was engaged in something that was going on here tonight. The variety left no taste buds disappointed and there was plenty to eat and drink. The spirit and creativity of the costumes by everyone who attended was something to talk about they were impressive. People here tonight were all so friendly and you can feel the good vibe in the room we really enjoyed all of it. Luci Harris did a fantastic job putting together this event! Just attended Yelp's All Hallow Gala here and this venue was just breathtaking! It seemed small on the outside, however one you step foot inside you will see that it is a large and accommodating venue. The building itself is beautiful inside and out. Then there's a nice spacious outdoor area will beautiful strings lights for night time activities. I can certainly see a wedding. Graduation party and many other events being held here. My only complaint would be that there are multiple businesses with the same address and the GPS stopped me at the first one which was a block away from the venue. This was fine with cooler weather, but I can just imagine walking a block in the summer heat to an event being just dreadful. The place seems to host a lot of weddings and other weekend-heavy events, so a local tip is to aim for Monday-Wednesday for a potential discount rate. I was here for a large fundraising event on behalf of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. This was my first time in the event space and it blew my expectations away. I hadn't realized that it was so spacious - it always seemed so small from the outside. However, there are three large indoor areas and an expansive patio in the back. For this event, there was enough space to have vendors along the walls and a few large tables in the middle of the main floor, which allowed some room for a presentation in the front. The three indoor areas are the main floor, a floor space that is a few stair steps below the main floor, and then another open indoor space that you can enter through doors. There's definitely a lot of versatility that you can put into this space. It has a rustic, homey feel and it's very well kept. My only complaint is that this event space is located in a very popular part of East Austin. There's Austin Bouldering Project, Austin East Ciders, and Friends and Allies Brewery right next door - and they all share the same parking space. It makes it hard to find parking (as a member of ABP, it's already hard enough to find parking on a regular basis). I would have to figure out an alternative parking strategy as a host if I were to hold a large event at this location. read more

My husband and I went here for an event. The best part of the place is it's in the city but it doesn't feel like it. It has a very intimate setting. It was easy to find in regards to driving there but a little hard to find once we parked. It wasn't impossible, just took a little extra looking around. Very clean, nice space. This venue just keeps opening into more space and more space! From high-ceiling rooms to a sprawling yard and perfect covered patio, this is a great location for parties, weddings and fun events. I think the back area or building is shared with Austin Eastcider's perhaps? There's a huge EC sign in the back area. Ive been to several events now at the Springdale Station and its awesome. I've seen a couple arts shows and attended a wedding at the venue. I highly recommend the space! It is a very unique space but the uniqueness does not detract from its usability which is a hard combination to pull off but it does. It also has ample parking and is conveniently located. If I ever get married--this is the place. read more
