We stopped by the Eleanor for the pirate pop up they were having and it looks so different than the photos with all the pirate decor It's def a fun place to check out with friends, they went all out with the decor. I also got a drink with dry ice in it and was super fun to watch all the smoke and it was delicious too! Drinks are strong also lol We came for happy hour and got a pirates chip to exchange to a free shot with drink purchase

Celebrating my friend's milestone birthday, we rented out the place for lots of friends. It's the perfect place for special events albeit it can get super loud because the floor is cement and nothing to absorb the sound. The staff is very efficient and friendly and the drink menu is amazing. There's a back area for dancing or whatever and a photo booth and the front is where the bar is and tables. The music was hard to hear in the front where only the bass was clearly heard. The back part was easier to hear the music but the party was in the front. The Eleanor is close by several parking garages.

Rating: 4.5/5 [cocktails only] We originally went to The Roosevelt Room but found they were fully booked without a reservation. They recommended their sister bar, The Eleanor, next door, describing it as a more casual option. After checking out The Eleanor's cocktail menu--which looked similar to The Roosevelt Room's--we decided to give it a try. The vibe inside is intimate and moody--great for a date night or a chill evening out. The cocktails are definitely on the pricey side, so this is more of a special-occasion spot for me. On top of that, they tack on a $1 per person charge for staff benefits, which feels like something that shouldn't be passed onto customers. However, the cocktails are expertly crafted, making The Eleanor one of our top five bars in Austin right now. Long Farewell ($20): A mix of RR coconut vodka, Mizu lemongrass shochu, cucumber, pandan, Thai herb syrup, whey, pineapple, lime, yuzu, neroli, Thai chili & Himalayan salt powder (contains dairy). This one was seriously delicious--smooth, well-balanced, and all the flavors worked well together. Mauna Loa's Plume ($20): Suntory Toki Japanese whisky, brown butter-washed Calvados, jasmine green tea syrup, mint, shiso, orange bitters, and a salt tincture (contains dairy). This cocktail was equally impressive--smooth, clarified, and tasty. My only gripe? Way too much ice, so it felt like there wasn't much actual drink.

We stopped in here for a cocktail after having dinner around the corner. Originally we were headed to the Roosevelt Room but there was a 20 min wait just to get a cocktail so we opted to go here instead which is right next door and has the same owners. The bartender was super nice and my martini was made perfectly. I definitely recommend this spot for a great place to grab drinks with friends!

Bar area during the holidays - super cute and festive!

I'm commenting here on the Eleanor holiday theme experience - was not expecting it! Normally the Eleanor has a similar vibe to next door Roosevelt room (dark, low light, sexy vibe). Around the holidays, the inside transforms to a wonderland of holiday decor and holiday drinks! It's a lot like Lala's little nugget inside actually. It was very cute, but despite coming around 3p on a sat just after thanksgiving, the place was POPPING. There was one single small high top table in the back near the bathrooms where I sat, otherwise all the tables were taken. The bartenders were working super hard too - I had wanted to come and sit and work on my laptop with a drink, but the vibe was WAY too holiday party-like, and I ended up leaving after 20 mins or so while waiting for my friend. I didn't try a drink because I actually had wanted something off their non-holiday menu I saw online, and they were just serving holiday drinks as far as I could tell. Those were a bit pricey too, $20 was the low end of drink prices, and I saw some up to $25 but they look like a standard sized drink... that is expensive nevertheless - I like what they did for the holidays, it's cute and festive! Hoping to come back and try a drink after the holidays. As a last note - they had someone at the entrance checking bags on the way in and out, because people have been stealing their holiday mugs... not cool. Don't take things! And be aware, they had a rope with a QR code outside to "scan for the experience/check in with reservations," so be aware that this place DEFINITELY will fill up during busy times and you need a res or need to buy a ticket (at least during the holidays!).

Stop and check out the Christmas pics.

We hit our first Christmas themed bar, The Eleanor on 5th. You can get your Christmas spirit started here, totally decorated for the holiday. Please check out the wall of Santa pics. Holiday themed drinks, my wife grabbed Rudolf's Replacement which was delicious. Beware, there are a few ugly Christmas sweaters running around here! The guys working the door were very pleasant, bar staff all were in the holiday spirit. Definitely a place to try while downtown.

Such a cute and chill place with amazing drinks and good music. The vibe is just right and music not too loud. Will return when in town again. The bartenders were awesome too!

**Miracle on 5th Street Holiday Review** Every Christmas the Eleanor transforms itself into a festive wonderland. Each year my husband and I spend a night barhopping all of the Christmas bars in Austin. We had missed this one last year so I was jonesing to tick if off the bucket list this year. It did not disappoint! First, there was a bit of a line (because it's awesome and deserves a line) but they moved people in quickly. Besides, everyone in line is in a festive mood so you're laughing and joking with everyone anyway. Once inside you are transported to the North Pole! It's floor to ceiling Christmas, even down to the furniture. Absolutely oustanding holiday drink menu and even a separate Ski Chalet Shot Bar. You'll be happy to know I visited each and every bar in the place and each one served exceptional fare! Do not miss this annual popup! It's some of the most fun you can have. Spread cheer!

I went to the North Pole this past week!! It is a delightful place where we got to hang out with Santa... sit in his chair... drink some Christmas cheer... and rock the Christmas mood!! What a great spot to enjoy a night!! Great artisan cocktails! Wonderful service! And a stellar atmosphere. A FANTASTIC place to catch a drink.. it is a higher end Christmas spot that will have you wishing you didn't ever have to leave. I highly recommend stopping in for one of their truly mixologist mad chemist concoctions! I know I enjoyed my snow ball, and the nog... and other drinks! The decorations are just flat out perfect for the season... what a mood setter!

We visited The Miracle pop up Christmas bar that takes over the Eleanor during the holiday season. This bar had been on my list of things to try in the Austin area, and I was glad we finally stopped in. My girlfriend and I waited in line at about 10:30 on a Saturday night for about 30 minutes to get inside. It didn't feel like it took that long. We expected for it to be packed on a Saturday night and it definitely was, so just be realistic if you go closer to Christmas and on a weekend! Once we made it inside, we walked around the first floor. We opted not to check out the also festive second floor due to the crowd. The bartenders on the first floor were nice, but looked super flustered. They have a specialty Christmas cocktail menu. I ordered the Christmapolitan and my friend ordered the SanTaRex. Each cocktail comes in a different novelty glass. You can opt to purchase the glass to take home after you are done drinking it, but I don't know anyone who would choose to do so for the glass prices. The two drinks alone were $33. It would have been an extra $41 to take home the glasses. We knew we were paying for the experience, so we didn't mind the drink price sans take home glasses. I was so glad that I LOVED my drink. The bartender even sprayed something on the top of it right before adding the last details. I don't know what it was, but that drink did taste magical! My friend, a bourbon lover, also really enjoyed her drink. Overall, it was a fun, new experience!

Wandered in unexpectedly when the Ali Wong "baby cobra" bouncer at the door caught my eye. I was en route for the Roosevelt Room next door but you're not NOT going to stop when you see such a good impersonator randomly standing on the street. The Ali look alike informed us that the Eleanor is actually the sister establishment to the Roosevelt Room (get the name association) and that we had in fact stumbled upon their Asian pop-up night. Obviously we went in for a round. The space was all decked out with lucky cats, Chinese lanterns, paper cranes, and more. They had a themed drink menu for the night (loved mine btw) and the cocktails were even being served up in Chinese take-out boxes! It wasn't super packed but it was very cozy and laid back atmosphere. We wandered into one of the rooms in the back with a dance floor and couches to hang out on that literally took my breath away with the way it had been decorated for the evening. Cherry blossoms were draped across the ceiling and paper cranes were everywhere. We didn't stay long past the first drink since we had plans to be elsewhere but it was a cute place that I'd definitely pop into on another night.

I'm…read moreholding a star since we received an email saying we got our deposit back Aug 12th and I still haven't seen the funds in my account- but besides that issue it's definitely got a 5 star rating! We actually got married a month prior in MA, but needed to celebrate the occasion with all our friends who live here with us in TX. This event space was perfect for a party on a budget. The view- I mean, come ON, was just incredible, and the backdrop for everyone's photos! People could not stop talking about how phenomenal it was. The process of getting the place was a bit tricky, as I could not navigate their government website to select the date and missed the cut-off time before having to do the lottery. Luckily, not a lot of people were begging for dates in August as the venue does not have air conditioning- so the heat was a bit brutal (but that's Texas!)- but we got it no problem! I ended up calling and the person I spoke to was very helpful. Speaking of air conditioning- or lack-there-of- we ended up renting some swamp coolers (huge cooling fans that run off of ice- but a LOT of ice!!) to help with the heat. There are ceiling fans and a few industrial fans included- but those don't help too much in August! I had a hard time figuring out what exactly we needed- so I'm going to add a quick "plug" for Preferred Climate Solutions our of Hutto, TX. They worked ZPC before and knew how to set things up. Brett even had an extra swamp cooler from an earlier event he let us use. Moving on- because this place doesn't require use of specific vendors- it made it that much affordable. We hired Slab BBQ to cater and Pixster photo booth for fun. For drinks, we filled out the necessary paperwork (some cheap $10ish permit? I can't quite remember) and we're able to just bring in a few kegs and boxes of wine from PartyBarn. Everything went off without a hitch! Good to note- the place provides a bunch of tables. Two huge round ones, a few smaller round and rectangle ones, and some nice cocktail tables we used on the patio. (The cocktail tables and one rectangular were good enough condition to go without tablecloths- the rest require coverings.) For lighting- it was definitely important to us to get string lights on the patio. I realized last minute that getting a few hundred feet of lights was going to be trickier than I initially thought- since I had to consider ones that connected and could manage the power of 300 ft of lights. I used Americanpartylights.com- it worked out great! They included zip ties which is important since it's against the park rules to use tape (holds better anyways.) I found a great diagram of ZPC patio for the light arrangements and measurements (photo included.) It was a perfect celebration and I HIGHLY recommend this space for any event! It has such a cool vibe even without decorations, your set up can be minimal and still look amazing. Plus... that VIEW!

The venue itself has a lively, open feel with an urban backyard vibe and plenty of space to move around, mingle, and actually take in the installation without feeling crowded. What stood out most was how well the space complemented the event. The layout made it easy to engage with the installation while still enjoying the social vibe. They had space for working virtually as well as displays to test some of the technology. There's a nice balance between indoor comfort and that signature rooftop-style setting, which gives it a relaxed but elevated feel. The staff was friendly and kept things running smoothly, and the overall setup felt thoughtfully organized. Whether you were there to focus on the installation or just take it in casually, the environment supported both. The line was somewhat long to get into the event as it was at capacity and could only allow more people as people were leaving the event. I was given a drink ticket and got to try the Patio Pounder with ilegal mezcal, primo aperitivo, tropical citrus, coconut, grapefruit soda. The bartender was efficient even though the lines were long. The cocktail was enjoyable with the balance of smoky and citrus flavors. They also had a variety of food bites available including chips and queso. creamy street corn, and sliders. The food was gone relatively quickly due to the crowds but it would be replenished periodically. Overall, Upstairs at Caroline proved to be a solid venue for a creative SXSW event versatile, welcoming, and very on-brand for Austin's arts and tech scene.

Christina also confirmed this in her review, you HAVE to use one of MOYA's vendors. So sorry, Christina, for your horrible experience at Springdale Station, and for getting ripped off. We ALSO definitely do NOT recommend Springdale Station! Honest review for those considering this as a venue: The indoor space is very SMALL. It is not a good location for a large amount of guests. You will find three rooms inside (one with some stairs that are required to access it). The foyer serves as one of these rooms, so once you make it through the line to get inside, you are inside one of the three small rooms! The event we attended was very crowded and everyone was bumping into each other. Again, in OUR experience, this is NOT a good venue for a large group of people. The outside has a very small patio, with a LARGE amount of dirt. Definitely not a good location for anything even slightly dressy. Something casual, cowboy-like, perhaps a kids' casual party...those might work. The dirt area is large. (And VERY dirty!) We came home with dirt up to our calves. Gross! Keep this in mind, and check this out thoroughly before signing any contract with Moya. Buyer beware!!! Outside seating on the small patio was extremely limited. Literally only ONE sofa. Moya needs to addressed this. Would be nice if guests could actually sit down. Ridiculously inhospitable! We have attended several events in Austin, this one is only suitable for a super casual OUTDOOR event. (And hopefully it is priced accordingly...). Again, please prepare to get dirty if the weather is dry, and if it rains you will have muddy shoes. If you wear any type of heel, you will sink into their wet mud. Again, this is another item that Moya still needs to address. (Hello? GREATLY enlarge that tiny patio!). Good grief. Last issue - parking. Many other reviewers have also mentioned this. The parking lot was large, but it was (is) shared by other businesses so finding an actual parking spot was very difficult. Highly recommend if you have to go to Springdale Station that you use a taxi, (etc.) to get there and back. Again, research thoroughly before committing. There are so many other decent venues in Austin, we don't know why anyone would pick this one!
