Having called MANY other venues before I found Lucas Event Center it was REALLY FRUSTRATING how every single venue that I called & even went to look at in person would NOT budge on the fee at all..NO negotiation..like really!!! Do these venues not know negotiation equals great customer service!!! BUT the owner(Gloria) of Lucas Event Center must know this since she was totally open to negotiation because yes, I want my kids to have an awesome & of course bad-a$$ graduation party BUT I am on a budget & senior year is costly so having Gloria be open to negotiating on the cost is 5+++++++++Stars in my book all day, every day!!! Since sharing is caring :) read below for ALL the reasons why Lucas Event Center is the venue that you'll want to use for your special event or to even use as a work training space.... -Budget Friendly: Open to negotiating on the price & working w/ your budget..THANK YOU Lucas Event Center!! -The venue is very pretty w/ a built in stone bar, wood flooring, & has a built in projector on the ceiling to use for a slideshow or presentation, built in colorful party lights (sorry don't know the correct names of those darn pretty lights), has a built in stage for the DJ, you can also have another stage built if needed. -When you rent the venue this does include tables, chairs, & clean up services after your event (awesome I know) & you have the option of renting the venue only & you doing your own decor, setup, etc but if you don't want to do your own decor, setup, etc Lucas Event Center also does decor..table linens, chair covers, balloon arches, fabric draping on the ceiling & on walls, etc so together w/ Gloria the owner you decide on what your vision is for your event & she will execute it for you..again all budget friendly because you have the option of deciding on what you can do & what you want the venue to do. -Lucas Event Center has 2 spaces you can rent depending on your event size..a smaller room that fits up to 100 people or the bigger space that fits up to 350 OR both spaces can be combined & rented out to have a whole lotttttttttttt of space :), which is what I decided to do even though my party size is for 125 people (at least for now it is ;) -The other event services offered by Lucas Event Center are photography, cakes, balloon arches, balloon columns, etc..... The venue is under new ownership now but I had worked with Benita throughout my planning and she has been amazing throughout the whole process. I also added on day of coordinator service and Benita took care of all the details so that I can relax and enjoy my wedding. Out of all the venues I looked at, The Terrace was the most affordable for my budget and I didn't need to worry about table or chair rentals. They have a kitchen, walk-in fridge, and regular freezer so you have access to set-up in the back or early off of supplies. It was also a great help that they had some decors available, so I didn't have to worry about spending extra for this. Overall, I really liked the space and how convenient it was to have the ceremony and reception in one location. There is a room where you can get ready or hang out before the wedding, but the lighting is pretty dim. Venue is about a 45 minute drive from Austin, but the drive is scenic and nice. A big thank you also to Kristi and James for helping setting up, cleaning up, and picking up the catering for my wedding.

BUT, everything goes down hill when the food and and servers are horrible. The food super cold and the servers were cold as well. Servers didn't pick up salad plates when serving entrees. They just told us to put it aside or they put entree plate on top of dirty plate. This type of service ruins your upscale venue. All of our food was cold, the chicken, veggies and bread were iced cold. I wouldn't do an event here knowing how it is. The only positive besides view and location was the bartender. Lori was amazing and very serviceable. Her attitude and customer service was on point. But for sure. I works recommend this place unless is just for pictures.

Just like The Roosevelt, they offer N/A cocktails, classic cocktails, and house creations. The N/A espresso martini is primo. The French 75 is one of the best I've had in the U.S. House creations, Show Business, Estatua Verde, and Standing Ovation are my faves! Show Business: Hendrick's Gin, Witch Hazel, Lavender, and other flavors Estatua Verde: White rum, sherry, lime juice, and more including smoke Standing Ovation: Campari, rum, bourbon, espresso, and more. However, dealing with the logistics of renting the location easily brought it down to three stars. The venue itself is nice enough, reasonable amount of space for 10 large (8ft) tables for a wedding. About 70 chairs, but not all chairs were used. Small patio outside house is a decent dancefloor (adamant about no DJs though). However, I have reservations about the accessibility of the venue. It was extremely difficult for my elderly relatives to move about the space, and they were unable to enter the house due to the steps. While this is a specific issue, I want to mention it for anyone else that has a wedding that may include grandparents. Logistically, dealing with the owner was pretty close to being a nightmare. While I appreciate side-hustles, the venue is overpriced. The contracting process was frustrating and she was non-responsive several times (she needs to get the contract looked at by a professional, there are still issues in it). While it is not made clear upfront, renting the upstairs costs additional money which is ridiculous considering it was $200/hour. They did not clean up after their dogs in the back yard and we were required to deal with our trash, except there was hardly any room in the trash and recycling cans. Finally, our rental period was supposed to start at 10AM, just around the time the owner put her baby to sleep. Call me heartless, but plan ahead if you renting out your house for close to $2,000 for a single day. The alarm directions were wrong as well, but we figured it out. I hope to never deal with her again, but I still wish her the best of luck. Hopefully she'll gain some experience and get better at this process. Oh yeah, weird topless picture in the guest bathroom downstairs. I would take it down if you have younger kids visiting.

I worked with Sophie to plan a surprise Roaring 20's-themed 30th birthday for my sister. I was…read morenervous planning this surprise party all the way from another state, but Sophie was fabulous to work with and I could not have done it without her. As a communication instructor, communication was the biggest priority for me and Sophie was a complete pro. Communication from start to finish was prompt and excellent! Sophie even brought up details that I hadn't even thought about. Her patience, kindness, and upbeat attitude made planning the party a breeze! For the party, MVTPC provided the catering, service, and decor--and there was loads of decor! From the gorgeous vintage teacups to amazing vintage bronze unicorn statute, my sister's house was transformed into a magical 1920's Gatsby mansion. I have to mention the food, which drew rave reviews from all party guests. We had french macaroons (in Lavender, Rose, and Pistachio flavors), croissants, quiche, chocolate mousse cups, and petit fours (champagne strawberry). The petit fours are not to be missed! We also had a punch station that featured an ice ring filled with fruit and flowers (side note: MVTPC does not supply alcohol, but will serve it for you. It was extremely easy and actually more cost efficient for us to buy our own booze anyway). Finally, I have nothing but the highest praise for the MVTPC staff. The hosts/hostesses were polite, prompt, friendly, and engaging. Setup and clean up were quick and efficient and didn't interrupt the party festivities at all! There was much more food, as well, all of which were delectable! Her staff at my party, Dylan, Crystal, and Anna, made the entire event special!
