The French 75 is one of the best I've had in the U.S. House creations, Show Business, Estatua Verde, and Standing Ovation are my faves! Show Business: Hendrick's Gin, Witch Hazel, Lavender, and other flavors Estatua Verde: White rum, sherry, lime juice, and more including smoke Standing Ovation: Campari, rum, bourbon, espresso, and more. Behind the bar was enough space for the drinks. They also had a kitchen if you needed extra work space. The staff at the Commune were all very professional, friendly and very responsive to any emails and phone calls. I highly recommend this space for any type of party , meeting, or workspace.

There was also seating for probably 35 people inside and a massive private rooftop deck with plenty of seating and ambient lighting. Perfection! Working with Brent from start to end was so easy that I thought I had to be missing something. Turns out I was not missing anything; he just never over complicated it! Thank you, Brent! We were allowed access all day but because the aesthetic of the place was perfect for our theme, we didn't need it until about 2 hours before go time. There's a full kitchen and an ice machine so that added to the ease. You can provide your own food and booze, hire a caterer, or utilize the offerings at Sholz Garten (attached). I had a friend do my food, brought my own booze, and hired the other bowling alley operator to bartend (he is TABC certified). In addition to the bartender, I also had to pay for a bowling alley operator (Brent), which makes a lot of sense. The machines are relics and need some professional tending to. That being said, we had zero hold ups to our throwing rocks! We even got a little tour of how these ancient machines work :) Upon the completion of my party, both the bartender and operator hopped to helping us clean. They handled trash and basically all cleaning. We just had to get our stuff out of there. So easy! I'm now searching for another reason to host something here. Oh my goodness, where do I even begin?…read more Reagan, the coordinator for this venue, rocks! I sent Reagan an email last year when I started looking at Austin venues to get married at. Lots of places where people could gather, be merry and have fun! This isn't really your typical wedding venue, but with so much history behind the place and many renovation projects undertaken, it's so charming that I can see why others have used this space!! I sent Reagan the date I wanted, she mentioned the Halle would be $2000 for Fridays and Saturdays. We wanted a Saturday so we paid for only that day. Reagan sent over the contract, we placed a credit card on file as our deposit to secure the date and all was swell!!! The week before our wedding event was to take place, we met up, handed Reagan the check, she went over details as to how to access the venue, was so chill that even though we did not have the space rented Friday, that we could have our stuff there to decorate the day before. I cannot tell you how many Austin venues I had to reach out to that were so pricy and had so many things adding up and it was just so refreshing to have her help us through this. We spent Friday decorating the hall, so many Christmas lights hung. I remember asking Reagan if we needed to bring our own command hooks but she was like we're totally covered on that. If you rent the Halle and also want to use Christmas lights, I'll let you know that she's totally serious. We didn't need a single hook that wasn't already in there. Hidden outlets everywhere everything was already good to go and in place. We had some ladders behind the stage that a maintenance guy fixing the bowling alley spilled the beans was hiding behind there as we brought our own ladder but it wasn't high enough for some of the ceiling areas. As a bride, I got ready behind the Halle Area and in the bowling alley. Even though we didn't pay for that area, Reagan, totally helped out in letting us get ready behind there to help make everything easier for things to come together so we could make our grand entrance through to walk to the stage through those doors. If you're choosing to use this venue, I can't highly recommend Reagan as she's also a mini event planner who's seen lots and can give tips, especially if you use the catering crew as Scholz Garten next door who knows the Halle just as well and makes your life a whole lot easier! We decorated, took the trash out, and left everything as we found it and it was all so easy! A bride on a budget, with friends and family to help set up and take down for a fun day together and we were all good to go! I highly recommend working with Reagan in using this wonderful Halle, so much history, beauty and Austiny enough! Love!! PS. You can BYOB! We had tons of alcohol at our wedding to make sure we'd have an open bar without breaking the bank partying and you do not need a TABC bartender to serve but we had one so we had someone professional making those fun drinks. No open flames, real candles, things that can burn the place down. For good reason, this place is old and we wanna keep it alive. We had sparklers we lit outside on the sidewalk and did our send-off, gorgeous and quiet on 4th of July evening. Perfection.

I worked with Sophie to plan a surprise Roaring 20's-themed 30th birthday for my sister. I was…read morenervous planning this surprise party all the way from another state, but Sophie was fabulous to work with and I could not have done it without her. As a communication instructor, communication was the biggest priority for me and Sophie was a complete pro. Communication from start to finish was prompt and excellent! Sophie even brought up details that I hadn't even thought about. Her patience, kindness, and upbeat attitude made planning the party a breeze! For the party, MVTPC provided the catering, service, and decor--and there was loads of decor! From the gorgeous vintage teacups to amazing vintage bronze unicorn statute, my sister's house was transformed into a magical 1920's Gatsby mansion. I have to mention the food, which drew rave reviews from all party guests. We had french macaroons (in Lavender, Rose, and Pistachio flavors), croissants, quiche, chocolate mousse cups, and petit fours (champagne strawberry). The petit fours are not to be missed! We also had a punch station that featured an ice ring filled with fruit and flowers (side note: MVTPC does not supply alcohol, but will serve it for you. It was extremely easy and actually more cost efficient for us to buy our own booze anyway). Finally, I have nothing but the highest praise for the MVTPC staff. The hosts/hostesses were polite, prompt, friendly, and engaging. Setup and clean up were quick and efficient and didn't interrupt the party festivities at all! The theme was a 20s-style speakeasy which served finger sammies, several flavors of macaroons, and the biggest rave, petit fours decorated in edible glitter! There was much more food, as well, all of which were delectable! Her staff at my party, Dylan, Crystal, and Anna, made the entire event special! They cleaned, made sure food was replenished, and, most importantly, paid close attention to my guests needs! They also had a great eye for decorating and rearranging and knew exactly where everything should go. I would recommend her for any event big or small!

Unfortunately, our overall experience was significantly overshadowed by the numerous restrictions and limitations that made planning and executing the event far more difficult than we had anticipated. We fully understand that every venue has rules and policies that must be respected. However, the limitations imposed were far more restrictive than expected and made it difficult for us to provide the experience we had envisioned for our guests. Throughout the planning process and during the event itself, it became clear that there were many operational restrictions that were not disclosed prior to signing the contract. These restrictions were only communicated after we had already made our deposits. While we understand the importance of venue policies, greater transparency from the beginning--or a more flexible approach--would have allowed us to make better-informed decisions and avoid unnecessary stress. We expected to work with a team that would collaborate with us to ensure the event ran smoothly. Instead, we were consistently met with numerous restrictions that significantly limited our ability to deliver the event we had planned. Some of the restrictions we encountered included the prohibition of indoor cold sparklers, dry ice effects, and even a custom dance floor decal in the center of the dance floor. We were also not permitted to install any decorations on the ceiling or walls. Additionally, we were required to keep the music at a very low volume. We were specifically told that if the volume was increased, the event would be stopped. This warning was delivered by the venue administrator who was overseeing the event. Unfortunately, the administrator's attitude throughout the event was disappointing. She was uncooperative, appeared visibly annoyed at all times, and interacted with us in a manner that made us feel as though she was doing us a favor by allowing us to use the venue, rather than recognizing that we had paid a significant amount to rent the facility. Her demeanor was unprofessional and detracted from what should have been a joyful and memorable celebration.

I had a dozen bridesmaids, and we were very comfortable getting ready in the spacious bridal suite. We loved having a separate groom's cabin for the guys. They keep the grounds maintained, and the inside very clean. There are so many perfect photo opportunities including the fireplace and lawn where we had cocktail hour and the grand staircase outside. It was very easy to work with the Arlo staff; I mainly worked with Jeannie and Melonie, but everyone I communicated with was very professional. Our final walkthrough meeting went very smoothly. I would recommend this venue to all couples getting married in Austin.

All of our food was cold, the chicken, veggies and bread were iced cold. I wouldn't do an event here knowing how it is. The only positive besides view and location was the bartender. Out of all the venues I looked at, The Terrace was the most affordable for my budget and I didn't need to worry about table or chair rentals. They have a kitchen, walk-in fridge, and regular freezer so you have access to set-up in the back or early off of supplies. It was also a great help that they had some decors available, so I didn't have to worry about spending extra for this. Overall, I really liked the space and how convenient it was to have the ceremony and reception in one location. There is a room where you can get ready or hang out before the wedding, but the lighting is pretty dim. Venue is about a 45 minute drive from Austin, but the drive is scenic and nice. A big thank you also to Kristi and James for helping setting up, cleaning up, and picking up the catering for my wedding.
