Greeted with excitement, owner Rochelle of Board & Brush had me check in on her iPad. Showed me to my seat where we chatted for a bit. I saw my project in its raw form. I'm so excited to tackle this project. This is actually my second time coming so I know a little of what is expected. Rochelle does an amazing job taking you step by step and helping you. Even if you're not a crafter, never even handled a paint brush, Rochelle, and her staff are very patient, and very helpful. You start off with a raw board of pine. You're given a couple minutes to release your stress on the board. Hammering marks using chicken wire, a hammer, a mallet, and a large screw. You'll sand it lightly, and then stain it. Then it's time to stencil. Using a semi dry brush, you'll dab your brush on the stencil. Give it a minute under the fan to dry and peal the stencil off. And you're pretty much done. You get an official Bb logo sticker to complete your project. I recommend signing and dating your project on the back. Viola you're an artist! The Fancy Marshmallow Co. owner, Tina, she is such a sweetheart. She set up her beautiful marshcuterie spread. All made from scratch. Soft, fluffy, and flavorful treats. She has the cutest treats. All kinds of shapes and sizes. My favorite is the strawberry champagne. Trust me, they are amazing. Tina also brought in her hot cocoa mix ingredients and we all got to make our own bag of hot cocoa mix to take home. And we got to pick our goodies from the marshcuterie and box them up in the cutest boxes with heart printed tissue paper. Such a sweet touch to a fun class. I highly recommend coming to Board & Brush. Such a fun girls night out. They are BYOB, so it's a great group celebration. The Fancy Marshmallow, such a cute boutique, I've been several times. Tina comes up with the most delicious home made treats for all holidays and celebrations. Her boutique is the girliest cafes in Cedar Park! So darling. Check them both out. 5 stars!

This review is from the husband. A guy who cant even plan what he's going to wear tomorrow, much…read moreless a wedding. There is no review that could do justice to Amber and her team. We consider ourselves so lucky and blessed that we were able to find her and that she was willing to work with us. There is just no way our wedding weekend could have gone so smoothly and have been so much fun without her. Miller Lite is the best beer, the Boise State Broncos are the best football team, and Amber is the best wedding planner. Way it is. We originally called Amber saying that we needed somebody to plan a wedding in 7 months, for 500 invites, most from states up North, in Texas, in June, in 2000 degree heat, and that we had no idea what the heck we were doing. Some wedding planners we had talked to before told us that it just was not going happen, or that it was going be damn near impossible. When we asked Amber if she could do it, it was like we asked her if she could drink a frozen rose and enjoy a free week in Bali. We knew after talking to Amber for two minutes that we were in good hands and that she was going to make it work. I think Amber works for the CIA. She knew the ins and outs of every single wedding vendor in the area, all of their strengths and weaknesses, and had worked with pretty much all of the popular ones. We had so much faith in her that we considered letting her just decide for us. She was always very respectful of our budget, making both expensive and more cost-effective recommendations for everything. She was even willing to meet the vendors for us if my wife and I couldn't make it to an appointment. Amber brought to out attention and handled all of the little details that, I don't care who you think you are, just don't occur to regular folks during wedding planning. Safe places to store bags and purses at the venue, the venue's possible security guard requirements, how to get the items to the venue the morning of, how in tarnation to get the gifts and cards home the night after the festivities when most of your friends can't even stand up straight , baby sitter options, and tons more. If you recall, we planned our wedding for June in Texas. Also, our reception started at like 3:00pm. It's hot in June in Texas at 3:00pm. Much of the venue that we decided on was outside. We really wanted people to be outside enjoying the ranch, but knew that the heat might get the better of them. Amber helped us out so much with tent rentals, AC units, fans, and making sure that there was plenty of opportunity for folks sit in the shade during the day and night. Luckily, we had a nice breeze all day, but it was such a relief knowing that no matter the weather, Amber had pulled all the stops to keep our guests comfortable, cool, and pleasant to be around. Of course, all of the typical Harrison wedding incidents did occur during our reception. A sizeable group of loud uncles from the Northeast started yelling about where the playing cards went, my little sister had too much to drink, some folks got cut off from the bar before 9:00pm, one of my firefighter buddies was found by security passed out in a bush at the end of the night, the bathroom was up to the ceiling in girls trying to fix my wife's dress for about an hour, I lost my sunglasses, and my Dad called my wife by the wrong name during his speech. None of this falls on Amber, however. We are still being told by friends and family how amazing and fun and special our wedding weekend was, and thats all thanks to Heavenly Day Events. At around 11:00pm during our wedding night, I considered asking Amber to come on our honeymoon with us. I thought to myself "If this is what Amber can do with one weekend to work with, imagine the fun activities she could plan if you set her loose on a whole week." Then I realized how weird that would sound to my wife so I didn't ask. Our honeymoon was still an absolute blast. We bought a cool cowhide rug for our new house but won't put it out until we change the floors. We bought Amber a few little thank you gifts but we haven't given them to her yet. But we will. We could not have been happier with Amber and her team. Our wedding weekend was perfect and exactly what we had hoped for. Please do yourselves a favor and choose Heavenly Day Events if you're fixing to get hitched in the Texas hill county.

I cannot say enough good things about Rosa and her team. Rosa was amazing to work with, and the day…read moreof the wedding went so smoothly because of her excellent management. I felt, even though I technically only had her as my day-of coordinator, that she was so much more and helped me book some of the vendors that we had as well as getting a small discount with them. She checked in regularly and was consistently keeping me updated on things as we got closer to the day. Our rehearsal went smoothly, was quick and efficient. We didn't need to worry about anything the day of the wedding or afterwards. She isn't just good at her job, but she's so kind and supportive. I really appreciate everything Rosa did, and I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone planning their wedding.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend Austin Wedding Planners. We went with the wedding advisor package. We…read morefound them generally unwilling to provide opinions (I would ask questions about something and all I'd get back is "well every vendor does things differently"). They were overly pushy about preferred vendors (for instance, I heard from our venue who were contracted to provide our table settings that Austin Wedding Planners tried to get them to use one of Austin Wedding Planner's preferred vendors without talking to me about it) and they made some expensive oversights with the vendors that they'd recommended. For instance: They insisted a florist they suggested would not give us an a la carte (vs. full design) package. They did. We reached out to a florist AWP recommended with a minimum for full design. When we got that quote back it was clear they were struggling to get to that number and were suggesting more florals than we actually wanted. I saw they also offer a la carte options. I asked Rosa to ask about it. She said no, that that was only for elopements. I was really excited about them so I emailed them directly to ask if it would be an option. They immediately agreed. After I told Austin Wedding Planners the florist would do a la carte for us Rosa called me stressing out. Who would set up and break down the flowers? I said we would figure it out after our call with them. It turns out they were able to do both for a modest fee. Another instance, Austin Wedding Planners said our tenting company would not allow our venue to set up lighting in the tent. They did. I asked our venue which had string lights if they'd be able to set up lighting in our tent (our rain back up plan). The venue said yes. Rosa said no--that the tenting company wouldn't allow it. I followed up with the tenting company (who were not on the call). They said our venue could set up the lights. These two things would have cost us over $4000 if we hadn't followed up. Is it possible these vendors gave me different answers than they gave Austin Wedding Planners or they changed their policies recently? Sure. But given the premise of the advisor package is that you have a relationship with these vendors you should be getting me better deals not worse ones than if I negotiated on my own. Austin Wedding Planners have clearly been doing this for a long time and I think if you needed a day of planner this could still be a good pick for you.

It went from a micro wedding in the hill country to last minute an elopement in a hotel room. Jen showed resilience, dedication, and poise through the whole ordeal. She knows everybody and everybody loves working with her. I was so impressed watching her work and interact with all the vendors. I can tell there is a mutual respect there and that goes a long way with me. My wedding day was beautiful, serene, and so special despite all of the obstacles (including a snow storm) and Jen made it ALL happen. She wrangled all the vendors, kept me from losing it, and pulled the whole thing off with flare. She even held my phone for my entire ceremony so family could watch virtually from home. She literally became a tripod for me. You will be in good hands if you use Jen and her team for your wedding- take my word on that!

Both weddings were very detailed affairs, and the best Planners like Jen shoulder it all, run it all without showing a bead of sweat or discomfort. She also knows how to let the vendors like myself do their thing, while also staying on-target throughout the day. If you consider Altar Ego, you're in the right place. After meeting and connecting with them, you'll get a sense of how much they care, and how deeply and critically they think about your affair.
