I cannot say enough good things about Rosa and her team. Rosa was amazing to work with, and the day of the wedding went so smoothly because of her excellent management. I felt, even though I technically only had her as my day-of coordinator, that she was so much more and helped me book some of the vendors that we had as well as getting a small discount with them. She checked in regularly and was consistently keeping me updated on things as we got closer to the day. Our rehearsal went smoothly, was quick and efficient. We didn't need to worry about anything the day of the wedding or afterwards. She isn't just good at her job, but she's so kind and supportive. I really appreciate everything Rosa did, and I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone planning their wedding. read more

Overall, I wouldn't recommend Austin Wedding Planners. We went with the wedding advisor package. We found them generally unwilling to provide opinions (I would ask questions about something and all I'd get back is "well every vendor does things differently"). They were overly pushy about preferred vendors (for instance, I heard from our venue who were contracted to provide our table settings that Austin Wedding Planners tried to get them to use one of Austin Wedding Planner's preferred vendors without talking to me about it) and they made some expensive oversights with the vendors that they'd recommended. For instance: They insisted a florist they suggested would not give us an a la carte (vs. full design) package. They did. We reached out to a florist AWP recommended with a minimum for full design. When we got that quote back it was clear they were struggling to get to that number and were suggesting more florals than we actually wanted. I saw they also offer a la carte options. I asked Rosa to ask about it. She said no, that that was only for elopements. I was really excited about them so I emailed them directly to ask if it would be an option. They immediately agreed. After I told Austin Wedding Planners the florist would do a la carte for us Rosa called me stressing out. Who would set up and break down the flowers? I said we would figure it out after our call with them. It turns out they were able to do both for a modest fee. Another instance, Austin Wedding Planners said our tenting company would not allow our venue to set up lighting in the tent. They did. I asked our venue which had string lights if they'd be able to set up lighting in our tent (our rain back up plan). The venue said yes. Rosa said no--that the tenting company wouldn't allow it. I followed up with the tenting company (who were not on the call). They said our venue could set up the lights. These two things would have cost us over $4000 if we hadn't followed up. Is it possible these vendors gave me different answers than they gave Austin Wedding Planners or they changed their policies recently? Sure. But given the premise of the advisor package is that you have a relationship with these vendors you should be getting me better deals not worse ones than if I negotiated on my own. Austin Wedding Planners have clearly been doing this for a long time and I think if you needed a day of planner this could still be a good pick for you. read more

Rosa's communication was impeccable -- she kept us informed every step of the way, checking in regularly with both us and our vendors to ensure everything was perfectly aligned. We moved to Texas during the pandemic, and were pretty anxious about planning a wedding in a city/state that was new to both of us. Hiring Rosa/Austin Wedding Planners to coordinate our meeting was the *best* decision we ever made! She was brimming with excitement and ideas from the moment we met her, and through the entire process. Throughout the wedding planning process, Rosa was incredibly knowledgeable and supportive of our ideas, working with us to put together our dream wedding. She was able to suggest phenomenal vendors, including our caterer and florist, and was always very conscious about our budget. We were especially grateful to our regular meetings to touch base on the vendor contracts, guests list, and schedule, and all the little tiny details of a wedding. On the wedding day, she handled our event like an absolute professional. As the marrying couple, we felt like we could pass off all our plans and know the wedding was in the best hands possible. She made the wedding day go seamlessly, from welcoming our guests to handling the scheduling, to addressing any wardrobe emergencies that popped up, to working with all the vendors behind the scenes. Thank you so much Rosa, for planning our perfect wedding. And if you're reading this right now and looking for a wedding planner/coordinator in Austin: hire Austin Wedding Planners! It'll be the best decision you've made for your wedding. read more

Rosa was wonderful to work with. Very professional and she really knows this business inside and out. She is organized and detail orientated. Our wedding went off without a hitch and we have her to thank for that! She is very connected in the industry and introduced us to many of our vendors, all of which we loved! She was much more than just a wedding planner, she was something we could talk things through with at any time we needed. By the time of the wedding we considered her more than our planner, but a dear friend. read more

Brides/Grooms, I'm here to formally inform you that you can finally take a deep breath because your ventures of searching is over! Hire AWP! Here I am finally writing a well overdue review of a 2018. Cinco de Mayo wedding, all because there is just so much to say and could not possibly express in words how amazing they are. Rosa and Richard are both miracle workers! I contacted Rosa less than 2 months before my wedding, and she was my main point of contact who jumped right into planning. I can't tell you how many qualities these folks possess - strong work ethic, diligent, detail oriented, flexible, and always thoughtful of her clients. I'm a very particular person who gets involved in a lot of details with very high standards. She surpassed my expectations! There are a lot of examples I can list but will focus on a couple of specific things that happened that show how they are the absolute best in town, and the reason you should hire Austin Wedding Planners. An entertainment vendor of mine cancelled on me the day before the event. Rosa called assuring me she already had a backup person aligned without me needing to find someone else myself. What a relief! My husband had left the party favors we were supposed to put together back at the venue the night before. At that point I just said F it, guess guests wont be getting our awesome party favors.... To my surprise, when we arrived the day of, without even asking, her team had helped assemble and package the favors! This was an example of them going above and beyond whatever I expected. I also had an extremely difficult time reaching some of the vendors I had contracted with before I hired AWP. She stepped in and took care of every detail for me every step of the way, including scheduled timelines and making sure everyone is on task the day of the event - not to mention how fantastically well dressed they were! My wedding was unforgettable, beautiful, and goddam stellar of a party. It wouldn't have been that way without their involvement. Rosa and Richard weren't just our wedding planners for 1 day.... they've become our personal friends and continue to stay in touch even after 2 years. read more

Hire her!!! I cannot say enough great things about Rosa and her team. I was probably the very annoying type of bride in that I didn't have strong opinions, procrastinated, and waffled over every decision. Rosa was so patient, communicative, positive, and overall just made my wedding day an absolute dream! Her attention to detail is so incredible, especially for someone like me! By the end of the process, I felt more like Rosa was a dear old friend rather than my wedding planner. I will miss not talking to her almost every day! Seriously, hire her. Love you, Rosa!!! read more

Anyone looking for a wedding planner in Austin should hire Rosa. Our wedding was beautiful, perfect, and nearly stress-free - I don't think that would have happened without Rosa's help every step of the way. Her vendor recommendations were sublime. Her strong ability to follow-up meant that I didn't have to worry about getting responses. Her coordination with the vendors on the schedule and the day of, working with the venue on table layout, fan placement, and meal tastings, helping me look for missing bridesmaids and photographers, solving an issue with the cake, lining up family members for the procession, and so much more! - All this meant that I could just enjoy the process of getting married rather than stress the details, which Rosa took care of! Beyond just being amazing at her job, Rosa is such a lovely person to work with. You meet with your wedding planner quite often during tastings, vendor and venue meetings, and of course the day of the wedding, so I think it's important to enjoy being around them. Rosa is such a sweet and wise presence. It was like having a fairy godmother of weddings helping me fulfill my every wish. Long story short, go with Rosa. You won't regret it! read more

Austin Wedding Planners was the perfect fit for us and our wedding. They worked with us on the costs of their services, communicated regularly, advocated for us as a couple, and went above and beyond, especially on the day of the wedding. The vision of my special day came alive in every aspect. Everyone told me to hire a day of coordinator and boy were they right. I hired Rosa months in advance just to be sure everything would be perfect since I was planning in another city. She kept me informed at all times from day one whether there were changes or not. She was available to me whenever I had a question or concern and would reach out to other vendors to ensure everyone was on the same page. She was always punctual, presentable, and eager to get the job done. On the day of, she included her husband, Richard and assistant, Deidre and they were all one amazing team. I was tended to, my family was taken care of, and my guests couldn't stop complimenting every detail. I am able to relive once in a lifetime moments because the stress was completely off of me. Austin Wedding Planners - Wedding Planning Near Me - Austin, Texas

I initially posted a scathing review for Austin Wedding Planners and I'm now inclined to revisit that review. The majority of my negative experiences with Austin Wedding Planners surrounded one particular contact, an owner of the business. I've now learned that this particular owner is mostly involved with another planning company that she owns, and a new partner is working with Austin Wedding Planners. I can't in good faith leave the terrible review for this company when the person that earned that review has moved on. The new owner reached out to me to attempt to resolve the situation and that is far more than I can say for my original contact. This new person seems genuinely interested in her business and I believe that she is working tirelessly to improve the business' image and standards of customer service. Based on my interraction with the new owners, I will give them 3 stars, and I wish I had more to base my rating on. After reviewing my contracts, technically I was under contract to the other company that the original owner owns. So you can see my scathing review posted in the appropriate location. The common denominator is the old owner, that's who I wouldn't do business with if I were you. As for the new owner, I would ask to speak to her current/past clients for referrals. I don't think that anything negative that you find on Yelp before February 2010 is a true representation of the way the new owner runs her business. Let's give her a fresh start! read more

We are in process of using Austin Wedding Planners - Rosa Gibson, and I am the mom of bride. I own my own real estate business, and have to deal with lots of folks, contracts, you name it, and I know how hard it is to keep the referrals coming in. I want everyone to know that ROSA is the best ever! My daughter is getting married in June, we have never planned a wedding, and had no clue as to where to get started, and she has been so wonderful and has a great resources. She has made our process so much easier, she is continuing to keep us on task, and making sure we stay within budget, not to mention teaching us ways to save!! We interviewed several places, and she was the only one that actually listened to what my daugher wanted in her wedding, without trying to pursuade us to use all their own vendors. She has tremendous resources and when we wanted something different she found that too! Anyone that needs a reference please let me know! read more

Working with Rosa was great! I contacted her after getting started on the planning process and freaking out almost immediately. I went with the day-of coordinator package she offers. It's hard to know where to start- really she was there throughout everything for me and my husband! Here are some highlights that stuck out: gave advice about all kinds of things leading up to the big day- rehearsal dinner location, invitations, wedding games; really listened to what we like & tailored her suggestions accordingly; was patient with us when we were indecisive; gave us a lot of guidance during the rehearsal; stayed all the way through the end of the night and packed up our parents' cars. One of her major "deliverables" is an awesomely detailed schedule of events! This was a huge asset for us. Her staff was also extremely attentive & helpful! She was direct but not bossy- exactly what we were hoping for. I would definitely recommend Rosa to any brides who need some guidance! read more

Rosa Gibson is a fantastic wedding planner! I chose her over several other wedding planners for my 10-10-10 wedding in Buda, Tx and I'm glad I did. I'm a very picky person and need things to be a certain way, and Rosa catered to those needs exactly. I was so worried when looking to book a planner for the most important day in my life, and I know that most people feel that way. With Rosa, she genuinely cares, stays on top of things, and wants to make sure your day is a day to remember. Every week she stayed in contact with me and made sure every detail was taken care of. Her prices are also very competitive and I felt like she was willing to go above and beyond at all times. Thanks Rosa! read more

Hiring Rosa at Austin a Wedding Planners was one of the best decisions we made while planning our June wedding. From our first conversation I could tell Rosa knew what she was doing. She had all the right questions and even asked me about things I didn't even know I needed to know about. After that, we had an in person meeting and I immediately knew she would be the best wedding planner for us. Though out the process, she gave us ideas, contacts and her expertise to help us make the planning process so much easier. She was quick to respond to emails, texts and calls and to keep everyone involved In the loop. The day of the wedding, I didn't have to worry about anything and showed up to everything looking exactly as I had envisioned. I highly recommend Austin Wedding Planners and will continue to tell anyone I know getting married about them as well! read more

We hired Rosa as soon as we got engaged and she did not disappoint! I had many ideas when it came to a wedding, but had no idea how to get them all into action. From the moment we met with her I knew we were hiring a great person; one who had a vested interest in our wedding and who could do anything to make it perfect. We worked with Rosa on a package that would work best for what I thought I needed her for. She worked with us on pricing and didnt make us "fit" into a predefined package, but priced us what I thought was very fairly. Bottom line; YOU CAN AFFORD A WEDDING PLANNER! I knew I could always count on Rosa to keep me on track! With all the details that go into a wedding Rosa was always there to remind me of what was next and always had a "to-do" list we worked off of. One of the best parts of a wedding planner I learned was they could be the "bad guy" for you and negotiate with your vendors. Rosa went to bat for us many times. From getting us great pricing to helping reorganize our menu a couple of times at Lakeway! Since this was my first and last wedding I also had no idea what was a "fair" price for items so I loved that Rosa was able to get me many times a good, better, best option. Who wants to mess with anything on rehersal night or wedding day??...well besides Rosa and her staff who did a fantastic job! Waking up and hanging out with family and friends was perfect verses finishing up last minute details! My husband, my parents and in-laws would all agree Rosa was the best investment! read more

Rosa is fantastic! She helped my husband and I plan our January wedding. We spoke with Rosa in July of 2016, when I reached out she took her time to learn more about me, my husband, and our wedding wish list. She was very patient and gave a thorough overview of her services. She was extremely prompt in sending us a bid. What I liked the most is that Rosa really listens and gets to know her clients. Her packages were customizable and she was able to suit our needs and budget. The wedding day was absolutely perfect. Ours was a little tricky because our ceremony and reception were in two different locations however it was smooth and flawless. Rosa made sure she had the right amount of staff to attend to the bridal party and the guests. I'm originally from Austin and I was shocked at how pretentious many wedding planners in this city have become...they will only work with certain (extremely high) budgets. Rosa can work with all people and all budges. Rosa is humble and eager to earn your business. I would highly recommend Austin Wedding Planners to anyone. Thanks again Rosa & the AWP team! read more

I have had the pleasure of working with new owner, Rosa Gibson, of Austin Wedding Planners' on numerous occasions and have always been amazed at her attention to detail and professionalism. Rosa is the kind of business professional that gives wedding planners a good name. Her dedication to detail and ability to organize schedules is perfection. As a wedding professional myself, I enjoy working with competent planners as they make my job so much more enjoyable. I can recommend Rosa and look forward to working with her again. read more

Rosa was absolutely amazing! As mentioned in other reviews, she too was our "Day Of" coordinator but she did so much more than I ever expected. Her and I talked on the phone weekly and she was constantly available via email and phone and made time for me no matter what. She is such a sweetheart and so easy to work with, we were so blessed to have her! Don't think twice, hire Rosa now and save yourself so much time and know that you are in great hands! read more

Rosa Gibson- To say the least, she was a "Life Saver" for me while trying to plan my wedding. I was never one of those girls who grew up planning every detail of their wedding day. When the time came for me to plan my "big day" I thought- What the hey, I can do this.... Little did I know the time, stress and downright hard work that comes with planning an event like this. My husband and I had never been in a fight until it came to planning our wedding- what a nightmare. Five months before our wedding we decided it was time to call in for reinforcements. I googled Rosa and from our very first meeting, I knew she was the one for us. She has a personality that is warm and inviting and a smile that makes you feel so at ease. I needed lots of help and really didn't know what to do next. As soon as I hired Rosa she swooped in and started taking care of everything. I work 10-12 hr days 4-5 days a week so it was great to have Rosa call and update me on decisions that needed to be made and also to have her deal with all the vendors. She completely kept us on track and made sure there were no loose ends. Because of her our day went off without a hitch and went from being something we dreaded to being one of the best days of our lives. As you can see, I cannot say enough about Rosa Gibson. Not only was she a huge blessing and an amazing wedding planner, but we now consider her a lifelong friend. LS read more

When I first started wedding planning I thought I could do it all on my own, but quickly realized that I needed help! I reached out to Austin Wedding Planners and Rosa was quick to get back with me and we set up a meeting. I felt relieved after we met and hired her right away. There is a lot of detail involved in planning a wedding that I would never have thought of. Rosa is extremely detail oriented and truly cares about your wedding day being perfect and everything you imagined. I had already booked a caterer before hiring Rosa that was recommended from a good friend of ours. I didn't know that caterer would turn out to be difficult and unprepared that day of, but Rosa did everything she could to help make sure the guests and we were all taken care of. She was like a family member by the time the wedding rolled around because she was with us every step of the way. I planned our wedding held at the beautiful Star Hill Ranch in Austin from New York. It was an extreme challenge to say the least living so far away. I was on a tight budget and did not have room really for a full blown planner, though that would have been awesome. I decided to make room in the budget for at least a day-of planner / coordinator (TRUST ME, you have to understand this is VITAL!). I searched high and low (I was big on research throughout the entire process) and narrowed down to two. I was lucky to meet Rosa from Austin Wedding Planners in person on one of my trips to Austin. She was so delightful and we were on the same page. When I explained my vision for my wedding she was genuinely excited and wanted to work with us. We had a personal connection and the choice for me was clear. I was able to compromise between hiring Rosa as a full wedding planner, (which I wish I could have) and a day-of coordinator only, and found a package that was a "Wedding Consultant". That worked perfectly for me. Again, life would have been so much easier had I been able to hire her as a full time wedding planner! Regardless, this worked well for us because she worked with me on the budget. And she has years and years of experience. To me, that really made all the difference. If you're like most brides, you have never planned a wedding, and need some professional help. Your friends and mom can help, sure, but it's not the same. With the package I got with Rosa, I owned the relationships with all the vendors, but Rosa was copied on every single email that I sent to the various vendors, and she helped me through it all. She started helping me in July 2012, and our wedding was in April 2013. Most coordinators/consultants don't start engaging with you in a big way until 2-3 months leading up to the wedding day. Rosa was there for me for a full 9 months! I could not have done it without her. On the month of, and then the week of, Rosa was completely in charge. I gave her all contracts (there were SO many - side tip, try to consolidate your vendors! Just so hard to handle so many), and she coordinated a walk-through with the vendors as well as was the point person as it got closer to the big day. On the rehearsal day, she was ON it. We all just let her take charge, but she made sure she took all our wants and needs into account. Which brings up another important point. With all the vendors (especially the caterer), Rosa made sure she stood up for me and made sure my voice was heard. Some vendors were slightly pushy, and she stood her ground with the things that I really wanted. I appreciated that so much about her. Lastly, on the day-of, Rosa and her assistants were outstanding. She made sure everything ran smoothly. My family fell in love with her just like I did! Thanks for everything, Rosa. In general, I highly recommend Rosa Gibson of Austin Wedding Planners. If you can swing it, go for the full wedding planning help! read more

Rosa was the best decision we made regarding our wedding (other than deciding to get married of course :P). The planning and execution of the wedding is SO crucial, and Rosa did a fantastic job with it all. What you get with Rosa is an amazing planner with an amazing price. We got the day-of package, but unlike some wedding planners out there, she did more than just help us the day of. She and I were e-mailing/talking on the phone constantly months before the wedding, and she was so available with answering questions and providing referrals. She is so experienced and was able to provide us wonderful referrals for our big day. The day of and and even after the wedding, several guests told us what an outstanding job Rosa did with the wedding. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!! read more

Rosa and her team are absolutely amazing! Rosa wants to stay involved with the planning from the beginning. I hired Rosa Gibson for 'Day of' planning services a year and a half before my wedding day, this past September. I wanted a planner partially because firstly I do not live in Austin, and secondly I did not want my family to have to concern themselves with coordinating vendors on the day of the wedding. During our year and a-half of planning efforts Rosa kept in constant contact with me regarding vendor choices and my day-of timeline. She also kept in touch with my mother who was helping me out with the hiring and coordinating of additional items. Her vendor recommendations were excellent and her vigilance regarding my planning schedule and day of timeline was as well. On our Big Day, Rosa was very calm and watched over myself and my husband to ensure that we were able to enjoy our wedding day instead of answering a million questions from everyone that we had hired to run our day. All of her vendor recommendations received excellent reviews from every one of our guests- from the food to the band. Every piece of the day went very smoothly and she helped me achieve the overall affect for which I was striving to achieve. On top of everything, Rosa was worth the cost and very budget friendly. Austin Wedding Planners did a phenomenal job coordinating our wedding. My wife and I consulted Rosa rather late in our own planning stage (previously thinking we could do the day-of-coordination ourselves... HA HA HA). With only 30 days until the date, Rosa and her team was able to efficiently get up to speed on our wedding details, synchronize with our vendors, and work on our wedding day schedule/routine details. Additionally she worked with our budget and was very flexible and reasonable. Rosa was incredibly helpful in keeping track of our deadlines, providing reminders, and keeping us in line with our commitments and our own plans. Rosa forgets NOTHING!
