During the design process, we updated our graphic, so I went into my cart, replaced the old file with the correct one, and placed the order. Unfortunately, their print department must have seen both files in the submission and printed the wrong one. When I contacted them, I was polite and willing to work with them. I even offered to ship the banner stands back so they could just print the correct file and reinstall it. Instead, they insisted they had done everything right and told me the only fix was to reprint (not me sending the bases back but doing the whole project again) -- and that I'd have to pay for it, minus $500. They are more concerned with short term margins than long term relationships. That's not acceptable. I didn't make the mistake -- they did. A company that won't take responsibility for their own printing errors isn't one I'll be doing business with again. If you're looking for a printer for large or recurring orders, find one that values accountability. BuildASign doesn't. I'd recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more

The vinyl material of the sticker is so thin that it is unusable. I can't use them for anything. I will have to throw the $70 order in the trash. Just ordered 12 front license plates for our organization's vehicles. The color of the logo is so far off that they are unusable. The color ordered is an intense bright red, think Canada flag or fire engine red. What they sent is salmon, not even red. These are farther from the actual color than the old, worn-out plates that I'm trying to replace. The image is sharp, and the material they're printed on is as expected. However, the color is a huge disappointment. I've contacted the company, we'll see whether they stand behind their work! Update May 1, 2025. Build A Sign replied promptly regarding the quality of the product. They maintained that the license plates were "printed as expected for the color on the uploaded image file". Which is ridiculous. However, they did offer a partial refund of 70% or to reprint the order at the cost of shipping. I choose the second option. The second printing was noticeably better. The printing is at least red this time, though still not of the quality I'd hoped for. We ordered 100 custom license plates from Mike Murphy, the Senior Strategic Account Manager. Everything started out fine. Once we got the 100 plates in, 51 of them turned out chipped. They were stacked together when they were shipped, which we thought caused the chipping. We asked Mike for a refund for the 51, and he said he would redo them. We recommended they be packaged differently and he said they couldn't change their process because they're such a large company. He redid 51 of them, and 31 of those were still chipped. We asked again for a refund and he wouldn't do it. He said it was up to him to determine if they were usable or not; yet, he didn't see them in person. He only refunded us for 15 of them. I should first say Build A Sign has a good website that allows you to design a nice-looking sign. The signs themselves look good and seem to be of high quality. However, they promise what they cannot deliver and charge you for the privilege. I ordered signs that I needed within about 3 days. I paid a huge shipping fee for expedited delivery. The shipping acknowledgement came and gave me an arrival date of 3 days, which is what I needed. Two days later, they notified me that it had shipped, but they slipped the date by 3 more days--twice as long total as promised! So I paid a massive shipping fee and got nothing for it. I am in the process (about a month) of trying to find a custom/template for a Feather Flag advertising a Pet Adoption event for a Non Profit that is strictly ran with volunteers. I am highly upset with my order. This is my second time ordering signs with them because they were a preferred vendor for my brokerage. The first time they sent me a damaged sign, therefore, my listing had no sign. They did send a new sign that was not damaged fairly quick to make up for it. Decided to order from them again and again I am dissatisfied. I placed an order Feb. 23rd with rush shipping. I called on Monday, Feb. 27 to see if there was any way I could pay a fee to guarantee delivery for Thursday, March 2nd, as my listings were going live that day. I was told that I would have them by Thursday end of day as shipping from Austin to Dallas wouldn't take long. I received my sign holders on Thursday, March 2nd, which I was told came from Maryland. I called in AGAIN that day to follow up with the signs. I was told my signs were already printed and it would be a 24 hour turn around time for them to be delivered to me as they were coming from Austin to Dallas. I needed them by Thursday, but was understanding about receiving them until Friday, March 3rd, end of day. I then had 2 live listings over the weekend with no signs, after I called twice throughout the week to make sure I would receive them on time. Because it was the weekend there was no one I could speak with over the phone. My signs arrived Tuesday, March 7th. And they arrived damaged. They were bent and one had ink smeared over the sign that I could not remove. I contacted them highly upset and was told to email them pics of the damaged signs. I was emailed back saying they would refund me for both my signs. I was only refunded for one sign. It is now March 26th and I'm still waiting on that full refund that I'm sure will not happen. Let me start out by saying their website is easy to use. I will then say that if you use a graphic that is not their own from their site, the turnaround will not be quick. I received a notification that the graphic was blurry and they needed a response to continue processing. I responded same day that it was ok to proceed and they did not process the request until 4 or 5 days later. By that time, the original promised shipping date had passed so I had already missed games without a flag. Then when the flag arrived, the 8 foot by 2 foot flag I thought I ordered was only 6 feet by 2 feet. The Customer Service Rep said it was because the flag pole is part of that measurement and it says it on the website. I have not found that information yet, but am looking. We stated that we simply want a refund since the products are not usable for us, but are waiting on the "art department to decide if it was a misprint".
