What a delightful little place! And I mean, "little." What they don't have in space they certainly don't lack in service or flavor. For those who know my reviews, the spicy tuna roll is my gauge for any new sushi place I try. They know how to do it right! Flavorful, just the right amount of spice, full of the finely chopped filling, and very little rice. My husband and I tried a number of rolls. We ordered some simpler choices (such as salmon & avocado, spicy tuna, spider roll), and some of their specialty rolls (such as the Crazy Girl, Dragon Roll, Three Stooges Roll). A delightful "first" and visual surprise for me was the Three Stooges, which was wrapped in a unique two-toned wrapper-- beautiful to look at, and was delicious. I failed to mention that at the start of our meal, we were given a small sample (on the house) of the Yo-Yo roll, which was good, but since I don't usually order sushi with cream cheese, it was nice to taste it. Dinner also came with a choice of two soups. My husband got the clear soup (which had mushrooms) and liked his. I thought the miso was right on par and was at the perfect temperature to sip out of the bowl (yes, I used the little spoon, but then I did it "old school" after a while). The restaurant ended our meal with a small bit of dessert, which was the layered cappuccino cake that I've seen at Asian (Chinese) restaurants. Since I really like that kind of cake, I enjoyed it, and it was a nice touch on their part. The only things I wished were different (aside from that I wished it were closer to home) is that I thought some of the rolls could have been wrapped a little tighter, but trust me--it didn't stop me from enjoying my meal! The other is that I didn't feel they needed to use those LED flashing/color-changing lights to decorate some of their dishes (I saw some at other tables; fortunately we didn't get any). I'm one who'd prefer to see the "food" as the main attraction, not flashing neon colors. The place gets busy, so you might have to wait a bit to get your order. But the waitress was very good about checking on us and apologizing for the wait. The way I see it, that's just par for the course when you're having sushi. After all, it is a customized order, freshly prepared by hand, and (usually) by only a few chefs! And c'mon....it's SUSHI! So worth the wait, sushi! read more

The location is in a retail strip center with what looked like a small corner location. Outward appearances can be deceiving, to say the least. When we entered it was very nice - clean and nicely set up. We started out with complementary dish - yoyo roll. Delicious! Next, we each chose a dish from their Sushi Bar Entrees; B1 Sushi regular with 7 pieces sushi + California roll and B2 Deluxe Sushi with 9 pieces sushi + tuna roll. This place was great! They got super busy right just before we arrived, but for us, a place that's busy on a Tuesday night is a sign of good food! It was definitely good food. Very tasty! Had a great experience here! We had a very large group of 17 and the waitress did an awesome job. After our group was seated and our drink orders were taken our waitress brought us out 3 plates of yo-yo rolls on the house. We ordered a classic type of roll and a specialty roll each. They were both really well made and delicious! It was a shame the place was so dead for a Saturday night but lucky for us, as the chef was maybe bored and made us a sample sushi roll appetizer and tiramisu cake dessert for free. This place really surprised me after being traumatized by another sushi location down the street. The servers are very attentative, maybe too attentative but they were on top of everything. More importantly, the sushi was fresh and the salmon tasted so buttery almost like the belly of the salmon. For the price and being in Florida, the quality of the sushi is well worth it. I know a group like this could be stressful for a small restaurant but everyone was very friendly, welcoming and the service was great. The decor is modern and inviting. It was very clean inside. I'm no sushi expert, but I do have high food expectations and know good food when I eat it. They brought out Yoyo Rolls out for us to try which was great for a group with kids because it's cooked. Most were mediocre - the fish did not seem the freshest and the portions of fish were a little small. We were drawn in by an ad promising free soup and dessert. They surprised us by bringing us a roll on the house, but it was really bad, combining most of the things I dislike about American sushi - fake crab, cream cheese, and a sickly sweet drizzle. Found this place when looking for a hibachi restaurant in st. Augustine as we weren't too impressed with most we had been to. Never saw this one listed before so thought we'd give it a shot. So glad we did! It was awesome!! From the food to the service we couldn't have wished for more. The decor is beautiful and obviously brand new ( they said they were only there 9 months). Every dish was a work of art and a delectable delight. From the tempura to the teriyaki red snapper it was all so delicious. But the truly amazing part was the sushi, WOW! Spectacular!
