The cashier was kind and gave me time to look over the menu. I went with the Choose Two deal for $6.99 and ordered the 1/2 Uptown Turkey sandwich and the chicken carbonara pasta. The sandwich was good and the pasta was just okay. The deal also came with a small bag of chips. I decided to dine in since there were so many tables available. What I like about this location is how open it feels and the variety of seating available. The outlet availability is also great for the students to come in and study. Service overall was fine, the one who took our order wasn't very friendly and just doing her job. In regards to the food, we got the side Caesar salad and the DC chicken salad sandwich and the hot Italian panini. The DC chicken salad was pretty good, a nice lunch since it's not super filling, but it is very fresh and tasty. The hot Italian was not what I was expecting, I hopped for more Italian meats but had more ham than anything, but the bread was crispy and the peppers were a nice touch to the texture and flavor of sandwich. It says on the door that they open at 6am, yet while standing there up to 6:15am, no one took the time to open the door nor had the courtesy to come by an explain. With minimal layers of the tomato basil tortilla, it's jam packed with eggs. I had the bacon. Great kick to the fresh salsa. I'm a big fan of Corner Bakery and I had a pretty solid experience with this location. I ordered a side mac and cheese and a whole chicken pesto sandwich, both of which were delicious. My complaints on the order was that I got a choc chip cookie instead of a sugar cookie and my sandwich could've had some more toppings. The service was quick and the store front was clean. Today I saw a big RAT in that restaurant's kitchen with my own eyes, and it's still haunting me. OMG! The restaurant was empty, nobody saw what I saw. When we got there it was ready for us. We sat down and enjoyed a nice lunch without having to wait. I ordered the pick 2. Got the wedge salad that was AaaaMAZING!! And big!! I thought it would be small but it was enough for me. But I also ordered the Italian panini so I had to eat that too. The panini was okay. It had some spice to it but not much flavor. I stopped in to get a quick cup of coffee and a muffin. The restaurant was almost empty. I used to have a high opinion of the baked goods, but the muffin I purchased tasted like something from a grocery store or day-old place. It was eatable, but not worth the price I paid. The coffee was slightly warm, but not hot and probably made hours before I got there. I didn't' complain to the staff because I had a bad experience on a prior visit a few weeks ago and just decided this location needs better quality control. In the future, I will avoid this location and hope that the other Corner Bakery stores are still up to their old standards. Okay so I am a BIG FAN of the Corner Bakery. The food is always delicious and everyone behind the counter is very kind. It was a slow paced afternoon and it was very calm inside the cafe. I am giving a 3 star because i charged extra to add avocado to my bacon wrap, but there was none in it. :( Also ordered oatmeal (after 11 so that was my bad) but was given fruit instead of a refund. It was a perfect balance of coffee, chocolate, and a hint of strawberry. The Anaheim Scramble was filling a very well balanced meal. I ordered it with fruit. There's nothing unique about this sandwich, but it tastes exactly as you would expect. Like, it's tasty. It's a sandwich so it's hard to go wrong with it. Food was decent, but couple of huge strikes against them: 1) Ordering online is hit or miss. Sometimes your order ends up being wrong. 2) I can't find a place to use gift cards online -- you can only use them in person. 3) Their systems have been "temporarily down" for over a month, meaning you can only pay in cash in person. If you want to pay with card, you have to order online...see #1 for why that's bad. And if you have a gift card and want to pay using that, well, you're out of luck. Ultimately I debated between 1 or 2 stars, and settled with 2 because the food (when prepared correctly) was acceptable. read more
