The employees were very attentive and kind. But this establishment... Not very clean. Most tables stay dirty. The windows and the bases are filthy. Crispy pita chips weren't fresh and we're not very crispy because they probably would've been sitting out for a while and we're more chewy than anything. And the falafel? It was the worst experience. It was not fresh. It was mushy and soggy. Almost like they microwaved it. By far the worst one I've experienced thus far... oh, and outdoor seating area? Smells like piss. They need new management. Given my friends have said many good things about Cava, maybe I will give it another shot one day but my one and only experience so far was mediocre. I usually get a salad bowl with falafel, red pepper hummus, harissa and tzatziki, all the veggies, pita crisps and tahini. The falafel is always warm and crispy. I had an unnecessarily hostile and unprofessional experience at this CAVA location today. One that was entirely avoidable and created solely by the cashier's attitude. Whatever his name is, none of them have name tags on. My pickup order was said to be ready at 12:45. It was not, which generally I don't have an issue with. Because this location does not have a designated pickup area, I approached the front of the register BRIEFLY to inform the cashier I was there for a pickup before he even began speaking with the next customer. I made sure to be courteous and clear, and at no point did I attempt to cut the line or interrupt an active transaction. I just let him know real quick, which I'm glad I did because my order was being prepared after I entered, when it should have technically been ready. Despite that, he reacted as though my presence was somehow offensive and that I was being entitled?? Anyways, I stepped aside to wait, but the hostility continued. After walking from UCLA's campus with sciatica pain, I lightly rested my foot against the concrete wall. The same employee said, "Can you get your foot off my wall?" Your wall? Sorry I hope you're the owner if you're talking to me like that. At that point, it became obvious he was more interested in policing me than actually providing customer service. Care less about the wall and more about whether your customer's order is packaged properly. I'm paying for the food, not the quality of the wall. When my order was finally ready, nearly ten minutes late, he didn't call my name or speak to me directly. Instead, he used his finger to wordlessly gesture "come here," which felt condescending. I genuinely feel like this guy thought I was an LA piece of shit based on my appearance, but I'm literally just a commuter student tryna get lunch before my next class. To make matters worse, the order itself was handled carelessly: - The top wasn't closed properly. - The side of pita bread I requested was missing. If an order is delayed, the bare minimum should be accuracy, respect, and a functional lid. Instead, I received none of the above. If this cashier dislikes his job, that's his prerogative. But taking it out on paying customers, especially when I wasn't even tryna be rude is unprofessional, unnecessary, and reflects poorly on the entire establishment. And FYI throughout this whole process I did exactly what he told me (took my foot off the wall and remained silent despite HIS entitlement). I will not be returning to this location, and I'll gladly recommend the falafel spot in Westwood instead. And to the employee: if somehow you're reading this, CAVA cannot be paying you that much to have that much of a stick up your ass. I may not have said that in person but at least I said it on Yelp. One time, I placed a pickup order and arrived about 20 minutes after the estimated time, only to find out they had not even started making my order yet. After waiting another 5 minutes, I asked what was taking so long. They apologized and offered me a free drink, even though I had already purchased and was holding two drinks from my order, so I declined. Another 5 minutes passed before the food was finally ready 30 minutes later than promised. What made it even more frustrating was that several customers walked in after I arrived, placed fresh to-go orders, and received their food before mine. My order was not started until after theirs was completed and no explanation given. We have also ordered by delivery from this location on two separate occasions, and both times we were missing items. On our most recent order, they also forgot 2 out of the 4 dressings, forcing us to share one each, which was not enough. To make matters worse, one of the salads was missing two ingredients entirely. Needless to say, our dinner was ruined, and we will not be ordering from this location again. The feeling when you finally get to try a place that you've had bookmarked forever. I love that this place has a nutritional calculator online! Super helpful if you're counting macros. Selection was really wide and fresh. Priced competitively compared to chipotle, but way beyond chipotle standards. Cava has such a wide selection, every side and sauce is a flavor bomb, so much depth and umami! I wished they opened one closer to me. My go to is the pita - I'm usually a bowl person but the pita just ties everything together for the perfect bites. The pita absorbs the sauce and everything in between are just bites of heaven. The customized route is great to really elevate and incorporate different flavors into your bowl with many sauces and toppings to choose from! *Bowl is big. If you want less, opt for the Kid's Plate! * Ask for more Salad Mix as the proportion ratio of Salad Mix to Rice is I would say: 1:4. Food- 4.2/5 Portions are fantastic and you feel great eating the food meaning you are satiated and get delicious nutrients into your diet. The lower rating is due to the sodium/ salt content of the proteins (chicken and also tried a little of the Falafel) and rice. It's salty! People may love it but I do think the salt needs to be lowered as I am not shy from salt but I think it's overkill. Try eating the chicken itself without the concoction of flavors and you'll see what I mean. Service- 5/5 Fast and patient. You choose whatever sauces, toppings, and protein you want and you may need a minute or two to decide as everything sounds good. No hassles and the food service stations were all kept clean and fresh which is what we want to see. One female worker was enthusiastic and communicative getting the bowl started. The rest of the workers were unenthusiastic but did their jobs so no complaints there. Ambiance- 5/5. There's a security guard patrolling the restaurant which is nice for added security. Tables are clean. Utensils and napkins are stocked up. Water station is clean. I can't seem to have good experiences at this cava. After this last visit I decided I'm done with this location cuz the staff here sucks so much I literally lost my appetite after my last experience. I typically order ahead of time through the app, but as you can see from my past reviews, I've had bad experiences with ordering pick-up. So I thought I'd give ordering in person a shot since I had the time. I saw before I went to the restaurant that cava was doing deal on the pita chips through their app. So I went ahead and redeemed the deal before I got there, when I first clicked redeem a QR code popped up but I wasn't at the restaurant yet. When I got there, surprisingly the place was pretty empty, I ordered, made sure to get my pita chips, and then I got to the register. I get to the register and there's an older gentleman doing a bunch of stuff on the register, printing out several receipts. Doesn't really acknowledge me or say I'll be right with you, just frantically clicking buttons and printing receipts. He eventually finishes, looks up, grabs my order to enter into the register. He was about to charge me for protein that I didn't order (I get the reg falafel) but I made sure to correct him. As he was doing all that I was looking on the app for the deal I earlier redeemed but was having trouble pulling up the QR code that showed earlier. I could see in the app that it was listed under my deals but when I clicked on it no QR code showed. Mind you this is my first time ordering in person and redeeming a code in person. So naturally I asked the employee for help. I told him multiples time I redeemed the deal but I can't find the QR code. I even tried showing him my phone and that it shows I redeemed it. Which he barely even looked at and just kept saying you have to redeem it and that the only way they can take it off is by scanning a QR code. Well I kept clicking it and no QR code showed so I just said to take it off from the order. He did and then I paid. RIGHT after I paid he said yea if you redeemed it you should just be able to scan your account QR code and it will come off. I'm sorry did I not say like 2 or 3 times word for word that I redeemed it. Why did he not tell me that when I literally was asking for help? Instead he waited until I paid. Like wtf? I wasn't aware how redeeming the deals in person worked, I wasn't aware my account had its own specific QR code and that's how deals are redeemed. I wish the employee would have been more helpful. And to top it off while all this was happening I had a line of customers queuing up next to me, literally less than a foot away making me feel stressed and anxious that I was holding up the line. I left feeling so off put and defeated with the workers at this location. I literally lost my appetite and barely ate. It's only this location by the way, I go to other Cavas in LA and picking up orders is never difficult and the workers are always friendly, but for some reason this place just sucks. read more

This was my first time trying CAVA since moving to LA and it won't be my last! My friends had described it as a Mediterranean version of Chipotle, and I think that description rings true. I tried a build your own bowl with SplendidGreens and saffron rice, half falafel half chicken for protein, and all the toppings. I will say that they did skimp on the protein a bit, I only got two falafel and a small scoop of chicken, so be warned about half orders. but with all the toppings the whole meal was pretty filling! It's like a mediterranean sweetgreen, but it's so much cheaper ($13 for a bowl vs $17+). I got the balsamic date chicken bowl and it was super filling and a really generous portion. It's loaded with chicken, grilled corn, spinach, cucumbers, hummus, and a bunch of other punchy flavored ingredients. The chicken here is better than sweetgreen's imo (better flavor and smaller pieces that are easier to eat), but if you're not a fan of hummus, then this bowl probably isn't for you because it's a pretty hummus-forward bowl. Overall the bowl feels really healthy and balanced. Would definitely come back to try other things on the menu! The workers here were super nice and there's a ton of seating inside. Perhaps it was an off day but I came here after having a fantastic meal at the CAVA in Whittier prior, thinking it was going to be fantastic again. In fact, I even ordered the same exact thing: make your own bowl, 1/2 grain, 1/2 greens, braised lamb, dips: harrissa, tzitziki, and eggplant, all the toppings and the lemon herb tahini sauce. I ordered via web and got the grains bowl: Saffron Basmati Rice, Tzatziki, Hummus, Grilled Chicken, Grilled Meatballs, Pita Crisps, Cabbage Slaw, Tomato + Onion, Tomato + Cucumber, Pickled Onions, Fire Roasted Corn, Lentil Tabbouleh, Salt-Brined Pickles, Persian Cucumber, Yogurt Dill, Garlic Dressing, Free Side Pita. There were a few items where I noted online to put "extra" but it didn't seem like it panned out to reflect my customization. I showed up about 7-8 min after the pickup time and it wasn't ready. No utensils provided and food was barely warm. Overall, flavor was good. Protein was better than expected, but the experience/pickup and rest of the food was just ok. Maybe I just had very high expectations haha. If you order for pick up, it is pretty easy to just park your car on the side and go in and pick up, otherwise, street parking. read more
