I love this place. My best friend and I used to come here when we were divorcing , before she moved and before I moved, too. Today, I took my boys there. Their credit card machine was down and they were so nice about it. We had to switch back and forth between 2 different registers. And ultimately, I had to pay cash. And it all worked out. No big deal. The gentleman at the cash register was kind about it all. And he thanked us for our patience. He gave us a discount for our patience. That was super kind of him too. The manager came outside (we chose to eat outside) and cleared our dishes as we finished with them. He was super nice too. He is always classy and kind. The food is so good here! Lots of favorite comfort foods and healthy foods to choose from! Lots of good food for moms, their kids and their teens to choose from. We will need to come back more often! What happened!?? When I have previously visited Corner baker locations they were the better fast casual option over Panera Bread. But not here. At 12:35 pm prime lunch time hours, all of the tables were littered with past guests containers/detritus, no napkins, no one cleaning the dining area, no one at the cashier ready to take orders. And when looking for napkins they knew there no napkins and could see the dining room area was cluttered. The delivery to the table and the food quality was standard. read more

What happened to this corner bakery? I visited this place to dine in on 08/08/2026. No napkins, no one to pick up after the customer, restroom that looks dirty. I told them at the register that I am allergic to onions, shallots, green onions; however, the chicken pomodori that I ordered tasted like shallot. I just ate part of the bread and four pieces of chicken I had cleaned. I strongly support local businesses but this experience is not pleasant at all. We used to eat here at least once a week, but stopped coming after seeing mice running around the dining room on multiple visits. I had the bacon egg croissant which tasted great. However upon ordering the cashier added eggs a la carte for no reason. The sandwich was on sale for 3.99 and he said you need to add eggs. But you can see that eggs are literally in the name "bacon egg croissant". Makes zero sense. Cashier did not seem to speak english very well and didn't have any knowledge of the menu. I was really surprised to see how bad the hygiene was and how mice were running in and out of the hall where customers were eating food, which wasn't even in the kitchen. Did not start out very smoothly. I asked for a quantity of two cheddar bacon panini sandwiches to go and one coffee. The cashier rang me up for one sandwich and one coffee. After paying and noticing the lesser price, I checked the receipt and noticed the error. She rang a second sandwich up separately and gave me a number. Waited about 5 mins or so. The food runner brought out one sandwich on a plate and one in a bag to-go. I explained they were both supposed to be to-go. I ran across The Corner Bakery looking for a coffee shop. It appeared to be local so yeah! It's conveniently located across the street from the hotel I'm staying in. I had the rare opportunity to join them for Valentine's Day...ha! The cafe is in a strip with Harris Teeter Grocery. The brick exterior is inviting. Parking seems plentiful and the lot tidy. There is a small patio out front. The exterior signage and building is appealing. I have no idea if there is more than one, but I assume it's chain. The interior is updated and bright with light color tile floors. A combination of drop lighting and can together with windows on two sides creates a nice atmosphere to enjoy a meal. White walls and burgundy accents run throughout. Even a faux brick accent on one wall. Seating is pleasantly mixed with booths, tables and chairs and high tops. Even the table tops have variation, but overall dark wood. The set up is similar to a Panera with menu and ordering. So I guess you could call this a fast casual restaurant, but they do the bussing. Big band music played overhead which was cool. Restrooms are to the left of the counter and I started there. The men's room was not only spotless and had all the proper supplies it was modern. Everything worked and I just had to tease the manager Hector when ordering telling him "I wanted to discuss the Men's restroom's...cleanliness" He got a laugh and appreciated the compliment and pointed over to the older gentleman who cleans it. The menu boards display soups, salads and sandwiches. The bakery case has cookies and cakes that all looked delicious! Since I adore lemon pound cake and often order at Starbucks, blasphemy I know. So I was anxious to try an authentic cake from their bakery. I paired it with a small Bakers Blend coffee which is found self serve with creamers. The area was clean and had a sweet looking mosaic tile on the wall. If you want a mug you must ask or paper is given. They had three out of four varieties. Pricing seemed a downright steal at less than $5. Service was efficient and friendly by Hector. The dining room was sparse with a few customers on a weekday around 530. Most of all the tables were clean. I noticed a large corner once was cleared, but had crumbs on it. The floor was emasculate. The gentleman previously pointed out that cleaned the restrooms is the runner and keeps the dining room tidy. I saw him clearing, chatting and smiling with customers which is great! The Bakers Blend coffee was hot and light roast with sweet notes and tasted yum for a house blend. So the bad news is the pound cake. Although visually appealing it was a miss. The bread was not moist, the lack of any flavor was disappointing. The icing sweet and tasty. This was a tough decision on rating since it falls in the dreaded 3, or 4 range. A 3.5 and regrettably rounding down. The disappointment on the cake was too much. I didn't even finish it. I would absolutely return and try another bakery item. I popped in here for lunch as I've never been to one and had a hunch it would be similar to Panera Bread; which was accurate. The indoor seating area was open and the tables were all spotless. They also have an outdoor patio to dine in too, but with it being cicada season I am not sitting anywhere outdoors . I opted for the "You Pick 2" and went with their version of a Turkey Cobb salad and the Chicken Noodle Soup. The 1/2 salad was much larger than I expected and was absolutely yummy! The soup was good as well although I could tell it's a bagged soup which is fine bc not many places make fresh soup daily anymore. The manager checked in on myself and a few of the other guests to make sure our experience was pleasant which was really nice to see because that too is something that doesn't happen often nowadays. Update: never got my refund that they said they would so I went back after a week. the manager says the avocado is fresh and tells he's going to call the POLICE for telling him to look at the photo and this is not fresh avocado!!! which he acted like he was calling so I waited to speak to the police officers but never shows up. Worst food and customer service experience ever at this restaurant. We ordered 'Chicken' Pesto Sandwich and Anaheim Panini online and when we got home, it was 'turkey' they put in chicken pesto and 2 small pieces of avocado that's almost all black in Anaheim Panini. We called the restaurant and were put on hold for more than 30 minutes before they hung up the call and never answered our calls again after. I took my order back to the restaurant because they were not answering the calls, and the employee there tells me avocado turned blacked due to the 'HEAT' and argues that there's nothing wrong with what they served. read more

We've always enjoyed going here, but this time may have been our last. We ordered the BLT croissant breakfast sandwiches. The croissants were cold and mushy. The eggs were almost nonexistent, and tasteless. They did get the bacon right. And the coffee, which I used to love, was definitely watered down, both regular and decaf. And the tables were dirty. Corner Bakery Cafe's Mac and Three Cheese is exactly what I needed this week. Thanks to G for suggesting we meet here. I liked that it wasn't overly packed, so we could have a relaxing conversation. I like the variety of their menu, drink options, and baked goods. Their baked goods alone get 4 stars. They are a great gift option. I'm glad that they moved from Fair Oaks Mall to this area. This location is more spacious and the employees are SO much friendlier here. Our cashier was patient with us while we figured out what we wanted, the gentleman who brought our food over was incredibly polite, the lady who took our plates away was super sweet and friendly. I love CB because of their variety of options which satisfies virtually any craving. They have everything from fresh salads, pasta, paninis, breakfast platters, baked goodies, and so much more! You can pair up your dishes and customize them as to how you like it. Perfect for picky eaters! I especially love that they have the nutritional information of each dish readily available. Today I ordered the Spinach Sweet Crisp Salad w/ chicken-- it was light and healthy, yet was deliciously refreshing and still managed to fill me up. Stopped by The Corner Bakery after a trip to the doctor's office for some paperwork. Saw the store and decided to get something to eat. I have never eaten a real meal here until today. Today I wanted to try the Apple Walnut Pancakes. It was the first and only meal that really got my attention. I come to find out that the pancakes have been discontinued. Yet there are signs up showing that they still have it. The cashier said "we are waiting for the new sign, but it hasn't come in yet." Okay I get that, but management or someone should cover up those signs so guest don't see something they want and found out you don't have it. Since they did not have what I originally wanted, I went with the runner up. Pancakes and Bacon. The pancakes were good, but not better than Ihop or Denny's. Rebecca our server did a fantastic job on smiling and assisting on whatever we needed. Because of her great attitude I give this review three stars.
