Kale Caesar Chicken Bowl - my first CoreLife meal, of which I expect many more to follow.
    Bill Z.

My sister had told me about CoreLife a few months ago, saying how they were moving eastward in New York. And now, here they are. I feel that if they can maintain this level of conscientiousness in their values, the quality of their food, and the way they treat their customers, they will have continued success over the next few years (until they get too big for their britches, which often happens to chains once they reach a certain size). It's really simple in its execution: good ingredients for bowls made to order, asking for your preferences every step of the way. Mix in a friendly staff and a pleasant dining area, and you've got a win. A beet juice infused fountain drink? Wow! My only concern is that if CoreLife does too well, it may take business away from other independent salad specialty restaurants in the Capital District, many of which I also frequent. Hopefully there's room for all of them.

The food is good. The service is awful. Due to dietary needs I ordered a full breast with my regular bowl. Alexis, the GM, complained the whole time she cut up my chicken breast and told me it would be extra. Apparently the regular bowl only comes with 1 scoop of chicken. She charged me for an additional 6 scoops. My regular bowl cost over $28!! I went home and weighed the chicken I was given (5.8 oz). I could've eaten a steak dinner at a nice restaurant! As I was paying I asked for cilantro and she told me they were out for the night since she wanted to get rid of me. I could clearly see the cilantro in the cilantro bowl. If you want to be treated nicely, go somewhere else!!! Whatever happened to good customer service?

This is our go to place for lunch or dinner! Casual- Fresh and quick! My daughter is hooked on the kids chicken noodle soup- She gets an upgrade and asks for a large every time- As a Mom I love that the broth is Bone broth- super healthy Mom win!! Everything is made here- fresh - natural and local from what I understand! Tonight I'm trying something new - the BBQ Chicken rice bowl- I love their Flank Steak rice bowl and the BBQ bowl does not disappoint! The chicken is nicely coated in the BBQ sauce which is not overpowering like I was worried about!! Another thing that brings me back each week is the lemonade!!! I love their creativity with flavor combos!! Tonight I'm trying the Cranberry Lemonade with Cheyenne- Cheyenne is not overwhelming- nice combination of heat and tart!

    Steak Fajita

The guy on the phone when I called for my order was professional and kind and apologized for the drink that I ordered and said I'd be refunded. Overall the food was ok but not much flavor and the veggies in the fajita were a bit over cooked. The soup was bland. I hope they do improve.

This is a game changer ! Look out Chipotle and Panera ! Corelife Eatery will eat your lunch ! And your Dinner ! This is by far one of the best concepts in Fast casual food in a long time ! Today was he Grand opening in Clifton Park , N.Y I tried the Berry Bowl Delicious ! I added Thai spicy chicken and a hard boiled egg . Drinks seems pricey but are Wonderful! Brand new stand alone building with Great AC and out door seating . This MAY Be my number one choice for food when I'm in the area ! Thank you! I've been back 3 times since this review and the last time was Wednesday-1/9/19 This Will be my LAST VISIT! Food - Not even close to 1st day , And declines every visit since Staff - They Don't Care ‍! Silverware yes nice touch although I'd rather have one CLEAN plastic fork than 20 dirty ones . Great Concept ! Poor Management! TIP---DRINKS- DELICIOUS !

They need to work on cleaning. The place was really dirty and no one seemed to care. Food was everywhere, gloves on the ground. The tables were dirty and there was food all over the counters. Bathrooms haven't been cleaned in days either.

Horse racing memorabilia and interesting license plates decorate the walls. My husband and I dined on Thursday during restaurant week. He started with the lobster bisque and I ordered the Manhattan clam chowder. Both soups were generous in size and tasted fantastic. My husband and I both ordered the whole belly clams basket. The clams were absolutely delicious! Reminded me of the fried whole belly clams we get in Maine: the coating is light and compliments the clams beautifully. The portion was plentiful, too. My husband ate onion rings and coleslaw for his sides. I tried an onion ring as they looked so good. The absolute best onion rings I ever tasted. I ate an order of grilled broccoli and coleslaw slaw with my whole belly clams. The broccoli was seasoned perfectly. Their coleslaw is slightly crunchy and lightly dressed, just the way I like it. Desserts were included. My husband decided on a mini cannoli and I opted for the spumoni. Both desserts were authentic Italian treats... the perfect way to end our meals. Our waitress was extraordinary! She refilled our drinks and checked in on us during each course. We will be back!

Well, a solid two years has passed since Eddie F's opened in Clifton Park. We had been to the…read moreSaratoga location several times before that, and probably once after Clifton Park opened. I say all that because we live in Clifton Park and only just now got to this location for the first time even though we had been relatively regular customers of the former Harbor House. Apparently, 5:30PM on a Monday during Lent is a good time to dine here. We were the only customers when we walked in and only two other parties arrived by the time we left. With that said, service was friendly, prompt, and efficient. There were many different things I wanted to try, so the best option for me was the Captains Basket ($45). Initially, this seemed expensive to me. But when the meal was placed in front of me, two thoughts crossed my mind - am I going to try to eat all this? - and will I enjoy it? The answers were NO and YES, respectively. The Captains Basket contains haddock, scallops, shrimp, and Ipswich whole belly clams. The portions of each were very generous and I was able to include two sides. While I chose to have all my fish fried, I could have mixed and matched additional choices of grilled, blackened, or gluten free fried. The coating on the fried fish is light and not overly salty. All the fish varieties were perfectly cooked. The haddock was flakey, the shrimp had a slight crunch to their bite, the whole belly clams were soft and creamy, and the scallops were tender, sweet, and slightly springy. My side of onion rings were not greasy and very thinly sliced. I generally prefer a thicker sliced onion. The baked beans I ordered mostly for my wife's enjoyment, and while I thought the consistency was more fluid than what I expected, my wife said they reminded her of pork and beans. My wife's choice for dinner was the Fish N Chips ($19) - battered and fried with French fries and slaw. She had two good sized portions of haddock of equal quality to my haddock, and non-greasy fries that were crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, and still tasty when I tried them at room temperature. The slaw was average. A couple of large sodas ($3.50 each) rounded out our meal. Neither of us finished our meal and took some home to enjoy the next day - and we did! On our next trip, I plan to order less fish and save room for dessert since the choices sounded so good.

I'd come back just for the rolls, they were so soft, fluffy, and light with the perfect flaky salt on top to balance with the whipped honey butter. Delicious! Everything else was also great, the hanger steak is also tender and loved the hash that came with it and the crab spaghetti had ample crab meat in it. Presentation was gorgeous. Since we were driving from Cambridge to Egremont -- about three hours -- to celebrate a special occasion with friends who live nearby, we called to ask whether they could make an exception. The manager gladly did. A few hours before the reservation, however, the OWNER called and brusquely informed us that they do not take reservations for parties of four and that "maybe they could accommodate us," before launching into an unnecessary lecture about their 5+ policy -- essentially cancelling our reservation. Why do that to your customers? Unfortunately, it didn't stop there. When we arrived, he was again rude and dismissive, seating us at a tiny table in the corner of the bar that was clearly too small for dinner. Thankfully, the manager stepped in, rescued the evening, and moved us to the main dining room, where we ended up having a wonderful night with our friends. She also checked in throughout the evening to make sure our experience improved, and her professionalism genuinely turned things around. As for the food: we ordered the Smoked Fish Pate appetizer, the Grilled Salmon, and the Artichoke and Goat Cheese Ravioli. The pate was exceptional -- layered, balanced, and memorable. The salmon was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and refreshingly not buried under heavy marinades. The ravioli was also excellent. Dessert was a rich chocolate cake that capped off an otherwise delightful meal. The decor, service, and overall comfort were all A+. This easily could have been a five-star evening, but the owner's unjustified hostility convinced me that this is not a place I would return to.

The Roosevelt Room in Troy was a great experience from start to finish. I was honestly expecting a standalone building, but it is tucked into a strip mall near HVCC. That said, parking was easy and stress free, which is always a plus. This was our first visit as a party of four, and the service was superb. The attention to detail really stood out and was noticed immediately. Our waitress checked in at the right times, kept drinks filled, and made sure everything came out exactly as expected. Meals are made to order, so substitutions were no issue at all, and it was nice to see gluten free options available. When you walk in, you pass through a curtain and are immediately greeted by a coat attendant who takes your coats, which instantly gives the place an upscale feel. The ambiance is well done, with soft lighting and nice background music. It is on the smaller side and dimly lit, but that is clearly intentional. The menus actually light up, which was a unique and thoughtful touch that fits the atmosphere perfectly. We had reservations and were seated right away. It did not seem necessary on this particular evening, but I would definitely recommend them on a weekend given the size of the space. The food itself was excellent. Everything we ordered was very tasty, and the presentation across the board was impressive. Desserts are prepared by a pastry chef and were just as good as the rest of the meal. It is definitely on the pricey side, but that is to be expected for the level of service and atmosphere. This feels like a special occasion type of place, and in that context, it is worth every penny. We really enjoyed our night and would absolutely come back. There was also a sign mentioning live jazz on Fridays, which sounds like a great added touch. Overall, a very strong 5 stars.

It was very good. We also ordered caviar service. It is 1 ounce with sour cream, egg whites, yolks, and onions. Fresh made Bellinis that were still warm. We enjoyed it immensely. It was a lovely compliment to the champagne. For an appetizer we enjoyed the escargot. We have had escargot in many places, rarely, if ever, was it as good at this was. The garlic butter was on point, the crusty bread was a great addition to the dish. It was served with tiny leaves of Swiss chard. We cannot recommend this enough. We ordered a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon from their extensive wine list, Stag's Leap. This wine paired perfectly with the filet mignon bordelaise, and the veal chop with cherry peppers. This was an amazing experience. Every touch point was a pure joy, from the moment I entered and was promptly and politely seated, to the last few minutes as I chatted with one of the owners, Chris. Every single interaction we experienced gave us the comfort of being amongst friends who were happy to see us, and more importantly happy to be here. From our fully engaging server to the wonderful highschool sophomore who never let our water glasses get below half full, each and every person made our experience just that: an experience of excellence and perfect attention to detail. Our meals were just as delicious as the people. The Grilled Double-Cut Pork Chop was an absolute triumph--impeccably juicy, beautifully charred, and perfectly balanced by earthy morels, rich creamed ramps, and the bright, sweet pop of local cherries. The reimagined "Ratatouille" was a stunning work of art, featuring a beautifully seared zucchini steak, smoky eggplant crème, and a crisp, fresh nest of squash topped with plump, perfectly grilled shrimp. For the perfect conclusion, the Espresso Crème Brûlée delivered a silky, robust coffee custard beneath a shatteringly crisp caramelized crust, brilliantly elevated by the crunch of cacao nibs. What truly elevated the evening, however, was how flawlessly they handled my strict wheat- and grain-free dietary needs. Navigating menus with these restrictions can often feel stressful, but our server and the chef made every possible effort to accommodate me. They proactively verified every sauce and reduction to ensure they were safe, and the kitchen effortlessly modified the dessert by putting the biscotti on the side. To enjoy a multi-course, world-class meal with that level of meticulous care and total peace of mind is incredibly rare. They didn't just accommodate a restriction; they crafted a masterpiece around it. We certainly won't be waiting another 8 years to return.
